We definitely wanted to choose a venue in Anaheim because it was a central location for us and our family members. It also gave us an excuse to go to Disneyland the next day! We did our due diligence, based on reviews and visits to MANY sites, whether they were event venues, museums, and mansions. We decided on the Hilton because in comparison to the surrounding hotels, this was the best fit for our needs. We had many out of town guests, so the convenience of a hotel was necessary. Most important, the location was perfect - not too far from our ceremony location. Our main contact was Lauren Kalt in Catering, who was great from the start. She actually went on maternity leave right around the time we finally booked our wedding, but her coverage was great and made it easy when she came back. The food was AWESOME! We're big foodies, and they did not disappoint. We had the choice of filet mignon and sea bass, which everyone loved. Our wedding coordinator was very impressed with the hors d'oeuvres - not just the selection but the service, quality, and quantity. She told us that they never ran out, which was important to our guests who were starving when they arrived. We ran into some issues with Reservations (because of our room block), but the front desk was as helpful as they could be. I would definitely recommend the Hilton Anaheim as a venue, but I want to warn brides about the timing of their weddings. This is attached to the Anaheim Convention Center, so be sure to book WAY in advance to avoid any conflicts with large conventions or conferences. Lauren had mentioned that to us when we first visited, so we asked about what was on the calendar. The convention area is very large and spread out, so the noise and crowd is not really a factor, but guests might have issues with parking or hotel reservations. I truly enjoyed our experience with the Hilton, because the staff is SO friendly and inviting. Great venue!
