Historic Acres was the perfect venue for our July wedding. Katie and Melodie were amazing to work with every step of the way. They were great with communication leading up to the day. They had a great relationship with my vendors to help make the day perfect. The bridal party had a great space to get ready in at the Farmhouse... staying over the night before was a great option for us. The reception space is beautiful and the grounds around the property are beautifully maintained. We are so happy that we chose Historic Acres for our day. Reviewed on 05-10-2023

Historic Acres of Hershey was the perfect venue for us. They take such good care of the property that everything was stunning day of and helped us to save money on flowers and decor of our own. The property itself is also very large which was great for having our entire ceremony and reception there but not having to reuse the same spaces over and over again. After dinner we were even able to open up the doors of the pavilion which allowed guest to enjoy the party inside or play games on the lawn. The farmhouse was the perfect getting ready space and I would highly recommend staying the night before to make full use of the day of. Reviewed on 18-08-2023

The venue was very quick to get back to my emails and always made sure I understood what I needed to know. They provided different options for situations and were very professional. The only thing was that they were very particular about how things can be done. Even though my rehearsal was the night before my wedding I was not allowed to set up or store a single decoration on the venue until the next morning. My choice of vendors had to have certain qualifications and their choice of vendors was expensive. Overall it was a beautiful day and they were wonderful. Reviewed on 19-01-2023

We met the owner Kevin at the original walkthrough and he was also friendly and helpful. Our guests loved every inch of the property and we wouldn’t have changed a thing about the venue. We had the most perfect wedding ceremony, reception, and weekend getaway staying on site for the entire wedding weekend! The grounds and facilities are just gorgeous! We have received so many comments from our guests about how stunning this venue is!In addition to the awe of the beauty of this paradise, the Owners and Event Directors were out of this world! Melodie and Katie, the Event Directors who worked directly with us, were absolutely amazing! Personal story....I was so anticipating having our ceremony outside in front of the pond, and me, the bride, being able to walk down the elongated steps leading from the Farmhouse to the ceremony site. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had different plans for that. Melodie and Katie were so compassionate, understanding, and professional in guiding me to the decision to move the ceremony indoors to the Barn. Thank goodness they did, as it poured at the time of our ceremony at 4 PM. As much as I didn't want to have our ceremony indoors initially, the ceremony in the Barn was absolutely stunning! It provided us with the most intimate and passionate ceremony that, in looking back, I wouldn't want it any other way. So Brides, do not be afraid of the rain! The Reception Hall is absolutely beautiful and can accommodate a large crowd. There was plenty of eating, drinking, dancing, laughter and love in the Hall all evening and night. We purchased the fire pit option outdoors, which added an extra special ambiance to the evening! We stayed at the lovely Farmhouse for our entire Wedding Weekend! The Farmhouse, like everything else on premises, was just stunning! In addition to providing beautiful spaces for the Bride and Groom to get ready, it provided us with an amazing background for pictures, and a comfortable space to enjoy family and friends. When we left Sunday morning, I cried having to say goodbye.I would highly recommend Hershey Acres of Hershey for all of you Brides and Grooms to be! We fell in love with this venue, and would do it all again there, hands down! I'm so thankful that I have beautiful photographs to remember our most special day there. We met with Melodie and booked our date! Everything about the process was smooth and easy. Melodie and the team at HAH were incredibly helpful along the way; answering any questions we have and working with us to postpone when the pandemic hit. When we were able to start planning again, we started working with Katie; who was equally as wonderful to work with! When we finally had our special day, it couldn't have been more perfect. The girls all stayed at the beautifully remodeled farmhouse and got ready there the morning of our wedding. The guys also had an awesome den to hang out in and get ready. We were able to take our photos and have our first look outside but it rained at the start of our ceremony. HAH's indoor option was picture perfect. Stone wall backdrop in a restored rustic barn. The main reason we loved HAH was because of the reception hall. Massive ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers and windows/doors that opened on both sides. Raafi H(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2021 3 stars because it was a beautiful venue but that was about it. Its very unfortunate that central PA lacks so much diversity, and that's probably where the issues stems from. There was such poor communication throughout the whole planning process between the venue and my wedding planner (which was through the venue). This place is great for your typical (white) American wedding, but I seriously think the team needs diversity training. They were very unaccommodating to Indian/Desi traditions, which is all fine an dandy if you clarify before the wedding day. One very very important tradition to me was to have a rose petal enterance, which I discussed multiple times with Melodie and Katie. I even specifically asked if fresh rose petals were okay to use and mentioned the rose petal enterance during the final walk through. They tell me 2 hours before my wedding starts that throwing rose petals is not allowed. I cannot explain how upset I was, but I kept my cool and didn't even complain even though I had to forgo many traditions as this venue doesn't really cater to non-white weddings. Many in my family do not speak good English and I emphasized that things maybe difficult to explain to them. Yet they didn't even try, let my family be confused about clean up, didn't even call me, and took our deposit. If you have any sort of non-white, non-traditional wedding, I highly recommend going elsewhere that is more diversity friendly. Reviewed on 07-09-2021

Not only did they make us feel safe, our guests felt comfortable attending and everyone stayed healthy. Aside from Covid, this was our dream venue. Once we saw it, we knew it was meant to be. It has a beautiful outdoor ceremony location and a just as beautiful back up plan for rain in the barn. The venue is not only stunning, but the grounds are clean and immaculately kept. The reception area is just as I envisioned and Katie, along with our planner David from MX2, made my vision a reality. Katie was always on top of my emails, professional, responsive and helpful from day one. Lastly, we had the farmhouse on-site that we rented for the weekend. The farmhouse was huge and allowed us to all spend the weekend together. The ability to rent the farmhouse is the perfect addition to the venue. Our family and bridal party expressed so many times how nice it was to be all in the same spot and not traveling throughout the busy day. We had several hiccups on our big day, including 60mph winds and a power outage during our outdoor ceremony, but everyone worked together and made it work. Abby Hayes(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2018 I cannot say enough good things about Historic Acres of Hershey. First of all everybody is so incredibly friendly and accommodating. We wanted a very small wedding so it was difficult to find a venue that didn't charge us an arm and a leg to have a celebration for 60 people. Melodie was beyond helpful with that. Since the wedding was so small and we didn't need most of the things that come with their wedding packages, she allowed us to do more of an \"a la carte\" and rent out only the spaces we needed by the hour. We ended up having a small wedding ceremony under the corn crib, and having our reception in the barn. It was the perfect space for us. Enough to hold our 60 guests, and have a dance floor, DJ and Photo booth! There are also endless photo spots outside. It ended up raining during our photos, but i'm not even worried because even in the rain the scenery there is gorgeous. When we arrived to set up in the morning, the tables and chairs were set up exactly like the diagram they sent me. Melodie and Katie were available all day to answer any questions I had, and get me anything I needed. The staff is so friendly and always willing to answer any questions you may have. The grounds are impeccable and the reception space is so gorgeous, you don't need much decor! Our guests had such a wonderful time and many said it was one of the best weddings they had been to. If guests didn't want to dance, they could mingle outside and enjoy the evening. We also rented the farmhouse for the night of the wedding for us and our wedding party and it was the best thing we could have done - so worth it and our bridal party had a blast! Vanessa R(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-08-2019 The venue is stunning, and the customer service is excellent. We booked in September 2016 for our May 2018 wedding, and Melodie (the venue manager) was helpful with every question I had along the way. Her and the new staff member Katie are just wonderful! We planned our wedding from out of state and everyone was very flexible with our less convenient situation. Communication with Melodie is always timely and friendly! Even when I was there in person to plan out our ceremony and reception layout, she saw how stressed I was and reassured me everything would all work out (and it did). She is so sweet!Something so important to consider is RAIN. I swore it wouldn't rain on my wedding day, there was just no way. Well, it did. Thankfully, Historic Acres has a beautiful indoor ceremony space, so you don't feel like you missed out! Whatever venue you choose, make sure their rain plan is doable. They also have so many perfect spots to take wedding pictures even if it rains (awnings, balconies, and their corn crib). The reception space is my favorite part. The floor-to-ceiling windows (that are actually doors!) create a stunning space, along with their chandeliers!! The venue definitely has rustic features but overall, it is very elegant. Also, this place is made to be a venue. It's not an old barn repurposed to be a wedding venue. This is SO important when you consider space for your catering staff, adequate number of restrooms, A/C, lighting, and handicap accessibility! They have anything and everything to make your day perfect (ask about the farm tables!) and were a dream to work with. Reviewed on 09-06-2018

From the beautiful farmhouse, to the charmingly rustic barn, to the elegant and classy reception area, it was the perfect location to begin our marriage. The staff (Melodie and Hailey) were true professionals and are a pleasure to work with throughout the wedding planning process. We were originally planning to have a September wedding but due to an unforeseen health matter with my husband, they were able to accommodate us and instead we moved to have a beautiful winter wedding. From a logistical stand point, the Historic Acres could not have been more ideal. We had our guests stay at the Hershey Lodge and transportation to and from was quick and effortless. Hair/make up, photography, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception were all done on a single premises and not one phase felt repetitive or stale. One of the best parts of the experience was that we did not have to concern ourselves with weather on our wedding day. This venue provides two excellent options whether inside or outside for the occasion. We had our ceremony in the barn and we could not have asked for a more intimate and unique experience. They are constantly landscaping and caring for the venue. We also absolutely loved working with Melodie throughout the entire process. She was extremely easy to communicate with and did everything she could to meet our requests. The day of our wedding, we chose to have the ceremony and cocktail hour outside, with a very low chance of rain. Sure enough, when our ceremony time came around it was misting. Rachel Simon(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2016 The most important thing is that we had the most beautiful and perfect day at Historic Acres, and I wouldn't change our venue for the world. The grounds are gorgeous, the pavilion is magical, and the whole area is really breathtaking when everything is all set up. The getting ready space was perfect, the parking was spacious, the flow of the various areas was understandable for guests. The place is amazing, and the hiccups we faced were worth it in the end. Some of our issues began at the very beginning with the venue, when we were offered and accepted a date that was unavailable. We straightened this out with a few tears when we had to adjust our expectations, but it was handled fairly quickly. During the planning process, the venue had a major staffing change when Alyssa left and Melody began. The communication throughout was mainly handled by our planner (thankfully) but there were times that communication was a bit of a question. We were told at the very beginning before contracting that we could tent the outside area in the case of rain, and when the forecast looked like rain we were told that this was not an option. We were lucky with the weather and had a beautiful day, but we were SO stressed about that level of miscommunication the week before the wedding. Our planner handled everything the day of, but I suggest having someone that isn't through the venue doing that role for you. On our day, there was a chalkboard outside from Historic Acres. I wish I could attach a picture, and I can totally laugh about this now, but the chalkboard was a mess. They misspelled our last name, and you could still see the title of a previous event, like it wasn't erased at all. We had BEAUTIFUL chalkboard signs made for us by a separate vendor, but the one from the venue was really gross, and the first thing that people saw when they walked into our wedding- a misspelled last name and someone else's \"Welcome to the future Mrs _______\". Mixed experience but beautiful day. Reviewed on 08-12-2016

Our only concern was that the power went out right in the middle of our wedding throughout the whole facility. Thankfully they had a back up generator that kept the main Pavilion going. The flexibility of using our own vendors, bringing on our own alcohol helped us so much in the long run! Plus the grounds are gorgeous and our photos came out amazing! Reviewed on 14-11-2016
Meagan Bader(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2016 As much as I would love to give this venue five stars based on its beauty and atmosphere, we did have some issues after the change in management. We originally met with Jennifer and signed an \"old\" contract which allowed several different things that the \"new\" contracts did not cover. I felt as though the new management was trying to push the terms of the new contract on us that really did not apply to us. We also added on (and paid for) the fire pit, which they did not have marked down so make sure you go over everything during your final walk through/detail meeting. We ended up having our rehearsal dinner at the Coop the night before because Jennifer had oringinally told us we would be able to get in the night before to set up as long as there were no other large events - which there were not. I asked the new management a few weeks before if this was still allowed and I finally got a yes. The night of, she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about and ended up letting us in, but towards the end hovered around us basically forcing us to leave. We had a church ceremony, but the chairs for an outdoor ceremony were set up at Historic Acres which did upset me as they were in the way for pictures. Why couldn't they just take them down? I'm sure if you have a \"new\" contract, your experience might be better than ours. Historic Acres is a beautiful venue with its indoor/outdoor possibilities, but unfortunately, we had a few issues with the people who took over. Reviewed on 15-10-2016
Rachel Stohler(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-04-2016 Historic Acres is a unique and beautiful venue located in Hershey. We booked before the building was finished and were certainly glad we did! So many of my guests complimented the venue and how beautiful it was - they couldn't believe this gem was tucked away in Hershey. We originally were supposed to have our wedding outside on the lawn but due to weather it was moved inside. However, I think this was almost better. The newly renovated space is beautiful and really added to our wedding day. I thought it was a little ridiculous that the venue charged us extra to have our cocktail hour in that space, especially because we already gave so much money to the venue and as a bride I cannot control the weather. The only negative was that the venue coordinator changed about 3 times over the 1 year course of my wedding planning. This made it really difficult with planning since I was promised one thing from someone and then the next changed it. I also really disliked the professionalism form the newly hired day of woman. She was extremely rude to my family during clean up, basically just standing over them and bossing them around. I understand we didn't pay to have her help out but to stand there and be obtrusive was really unappreciated. I also didn't appreciate that she came during my reception and told me DJ we had to come clean up the ceremony space. We were never told a time that the ceremony space had to be cleaned up, and unfortunately my mother in law had to leave the reception to help with clean up since she was so adamit about clearing the space. Overall I would highly recommend this space since it is so beautiful and the added bonus of renting the farm house is really great! I would just suggest hiring a day of coordinator since Historic Acres themselves does not provide anyone and they are adamit about not helping AT ALL. Reviewed on 21-07-2016

Sara Pullin(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2015 So I got married at Historic Acres in September 2015 - we booked the venue in early November 2014, when the pavilion was just a blueprint. I was BLOWN AWAY by the beauty of the grounds to begin with, let alone the finished product of the pavilion. My guests were in awe, and everyone just loved the chandeliers. I can't say anything negative about the looks of the venue - there are so many photo ops and things to look at. It was absolutely perfect.\r\rHowever - being that this is a new venue, I expected, and hit, quite a few speed bumps. When I signed the contract, I was working with Jenn, and by the time I got married, she was no longer there, and the new event manager was Alyssa. Information was varying between Alyssa and Jenn & no one could get on the same page about my contract. We ran into issues reserving time for our rehearsal, figuring out when we could get into the farmhouse on the day of the wedding, and what times we could get into the venue space to set up our reception. These issues just came up due to miscommunication between the managers.\r\rOn the DAY OF THE WEDDING - the wedding coordinator provided by the venue didn't show up. We had vendors asking where they could plug things in, where to store extra items, and how to turn on the AC, where to get toilet paper, WHO COULD PICK UP DOG POOP (seriously?) etc. First of all - don't be fooled by the term \"coordinator\" because they aren't there to help you with your wedding set-up, tear down, or timeline. All the coordinator is there to do is answer questions ABOUT THE VENUE and she never showed up. Alyssa (the manager) was out of town, so I called and left her a voicemail.. NEVER heard back. My mom called while I was on my honeymoon & was told that she got fired 2 days before my wedding. I got no notification or warning, and my contract wasn't fully satisfied because of that. Thank god their 2 groundsmen stepped up and got our vendors what they needed, otherwise, there would have been one very unhappy bride!! Icing on the cake to this was the invoice I got a few days after the wedding for a cleaning bill for the upper half of the house. We used it for pictures and someone washed their hands & opened the soap - $250. I am hoping that I won't have to pay for this due to the headache they gave me.\r\rAgain - like I said, this is a new venue, so of course there are growing pains. That being said, I think that the management team needs to work on their communications between each other, as well as their clients. Other than that, our wedding went off without a hitch and was so beautiful! \r Reviewed on 07-10-2015

Can't say enough about this site. I held my daughter's bridal shower in the Coop at Historic Acres. I selected this site on-line as I live out of the area and was so happy with the site. It was so beautiful- above my expectations. Alyssa and Jen were wonderful to work with long distance and were so accommodating with last minute table set ups when my caterer needed more tables. Everyone was so impressed with the charm of the Coop as well as the surrounding buildings. The Coop has fantastic crystal chandeliers that adds elegance to the vintage feel of the building. They are a newer venue with some recent staff changes, but they were sure not to let those factors impact our event. The venue is amazingly beautiful inside and out, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the farmhouse is a lovely bonus. Jen and Alyssa made sure all the final details were in place- they even went so far as to help my sister decorate on the morning of the event so that everything was perfect! I cannot thank them enough for a wonderful day. My only criticism would have to be that, if you are having your reception in The Coop, do not count on dancing in there, it is just too small. But, for our 50-person wedding it turned out great- Jen suggested having the DJ set up one speaker inside and one outside. The weather was really nice that day so we had no issues at all and our guests enjoyed dancing outside on the patio.
