Hotel Bethlehem was the perfect wedding venue choice. We had our wedding here on 12/09/23, and had booked about a year prior with Emilie. It felt like forever leading up to the wedding and then all of a sudden it was here. The staff were all amazing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a winter wedding. We can’t thank them enough for such a wonderful care free day, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our highest expectations were exceeded and everyone will remember our wedding for years to come! Reviewed on 22-12-2023

We had a fantastic wedding ceremony and reception at Hotel Bethlehem. We could not have wished for more and we would highly recommend Hotel Bethlehem. Everything turned out perfect for us on the day. It is a beautiful property, with many options to hold the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception as well as for photography. From the moment we visited the venue for the first time, to the wedding day itself, the service and care received from the Hotel Bethlehem team was outstanding. Kathy Sanders was very helpful, easy to work with and very professional in guiding us through the process of planning the event at Hotel Bethlehem. On the wedding day itself, everything was perfectly organised, the events ran smoothly and the staff were super friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. The hotel team worked seamlessly with our wedding planner and all the vendors. There are extensive menus to choose from, both for cocktail hour and dinner and the food on the day was delicious, served fresh and well timed with the proceedings and enjoyed by all. The location in the town of Bethlehem makes for a great wedding location, with many other activities and attractions in this beautiful Pennsylvania town. Reviewed on 05-09-2023

I know that it’s been a little over a month since Kate and Charlies wedding, but there are times when I feel like it was just yesterday. Steve and I can’t thank you enough for helping to make Kate’s dream come true! The Terrace Room was beyond incredible. So beautiful! Having the cocktail hour in the lobby was perfect; everyone seemed at home. Everyone told us how wonderful the food was. They felt like their special dinner was made just for them! We felt that way too. Thank you so much to the chefs and their staff for working so hard for us! But especially, thank you to you and your staff for making everything look so easy when we all know that it takes a lot to do what you did for us. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and kind. It’s something that Kate and Charlie will never forget. People have said to Steve and I that it was an honor to be a part of Kate and Charlies special day and they didn’t want it to end; for us, it was an honor having you and your fine staff work with us! Thank you so much, Mary Alice and Steve Reviewed on 14-07-2023

Historic Hotel Bethlehem was the wedding venue of our dreams. We are not from Pennsylvania but we chose to get married at Hotel Bethlehem because of the history, beauty, and quality of service we had experienced on previous visits. It is not easy to plan a destination wedding but Emilie took the stress off of us by helping us choose vendors, communicating with vendors as the wedding got closer and making the day of run smoothly. We had our ceremony and reception at 1741 Terrace, and beyond how stunning this room is, the food was amazing too. The staff was so professional and detail oriented, they made even the smallest details of our day perfect. Throughout the weekend the service of the hotel staff was impeccable. All of our out of town guests enjoyed their time at the hotel and the staff even went out of their way to bring my grandpa cookies and to chat with him when he was sitting in the lobby. Our initial wedding coordinator relocated to another state in the middle of the process, and it was a seamless transition to Emilie, who made us feel very taken care of. From beginning to end, we were given excellent ideas, they held an event at the Hotel where the bride and groom could have a tasting and see examples of wedding vendors' products, all their vendor recommendations were outstanding, they checked in with us about items we needed to provide before the event. And then on the actual weekend, we felt like we could relax and enjoy the wedding! Our guests also raved about the Hotel and how warm the staff was. Kelsey was incredibly responsive during our planning period from December 2020 until May 2021. Bethany took over from there and continued to provide great service and answer all our questions. We decided to have our rehearsal dinner at the Hotel as well, and we were stunned at how lovely it was! Amazing service and our family and bridal party raved about the food! It was all so convenient to practice the ceremony and just walk right upstairs to dinner. Afterwords freshen up in our hotel rooms and head out down Main Street to continue the festivities (of course). It’s a historic hotel but doesn’t feel dated at all. Instead it feels classic. Before the wedding we worked with Kathy Sanders to coordinate our wedding. We met with her multiple times and was very knowledgeable! She thought of everything! One of the best things about this venue is that everything is included in a base price. If you want to supplement with extras you can but it’s not necessary. We got the bridal suite for 2 nights included in the base cost. It was a huge bridal suite that felt very romantic! My bridal party and I got ready in the bridal suite and were helped throughout the day by the staff. They let us know when the ceremony was starting and where to go. Our cocktail hour was in the lobby and they had a garden display, cheese spread, and circulating ordorvies. We had our wedding and reception in the Mural Ballroom. We barely had to decorate because the hotel had so many of its own decorations. It has beautiful high ceilings, columns, up lighting, and murals on the walls. That room fit our 100 guests with room for a dance floor. It also included 2 bars, a gift table, and a cake table. The staff was wonderful and more than helpful! It might not have been much, but to us it meant the world. Now that it's over, I'm feeling a little blue. Honestly, I couldn't imagine spending our day anywhere else. It was so special and romantic, and the little touches really made the day perfect. Something I extremely appreciate is what we talked about briefly before we departed the day after. We mentioned that we knew the bartender from the 1920s ball, and Carleen (I believe her name is, sorry!) who served us at our tasting, and at the ball as well. The longevity you have with your employees is unparalleled to anything else. They are kind and respectful, and they remembered us. Arlene was fantastic with us in the hospitality suite, even though we only made it in there for a few moments. We planned our wedding from across the country – as Bethlehem natives, now Colorado residents, we had our hearts set on a downtown Bethlehem wedding. Nothing is as classic as the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. From the jump, Kelsey was immediately responsive and so helpful in answering my (many) questions. She helped us select a package that worked best for us, and was great in recommending vendors to assist in our day. The day of – I had nothing to worry about. She coordinated our ceremony in the Mural Ballroom, which was so gorgeous and perfectly timed. The staff were so great in making sure my husband and I were well-attended to. Jade even came over to make sure we ate something (thank goodness for that!). Our guests kept complimenting us on the room set-up, the food, the ambiance –thank YOU to the Hotel Bethlehem for making it all happen. Alexandra Bartfield(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-01-2019 We had a winter wedding in January at this venue. In short, it was amazing. The whole hotel staff did an amazing job of making our day special to us. In long, we met with Kathy Sanders sometime last March, and she walked us through the whole process. She was pleasant to work with and did a lot to help us out. As you may know, or you will soon find out, planning weddings are a handful, and Kathy was did a good job of keep us on track and assisting with decision making. She also let us customize the packages to suit our needs and wants.Regarding the actual venue, the Historic Hotel Bethlehem has a lot of charm. We received so many compliments from our family and friends about the venue. The building is historic. There are lots of pictures of historic events, which creates easy conversations pieces. The feeling in the hotel is not stuffy at all. For some reason ( maybe the comfy studded leather couches) it is very easy to sit and relax. You can see people lounging in the lobby, playing backgammon, watching t.v., eating in the hotel restaurant, or hanging at the bar. It feels like there is something for everyone. Since we had a winter wedding, they still had the holiday decorations up, which was something we planned for and was a very nice touch. The room accommodations were very nice, maybe slightly smaller than you would find in a Marriot or Hilton but not to the extent that it mattered. The food was really really good. Again this is another area, were we received a ton of compliments from our guests. The staff at the Hotel from top to bottom were very professional. They've done plenty of these events and all knew the roles. This is very important on your wedding day, as you want to be able to be present in the moment and enjoy the day. The staff helped us accomplish this. p.s. loved the bell hops and their uniforms. The town of Bethlehem is also very nice. It is walkable, historic, and interesting. There are sufficient bars and restaurants so it is easy to find a place for after party fun but not so many that it is overburdensome. We had a rehearsal dinner at the Sun Inn Tavern, to continue with the historic theme, and went to Fegley's Brewery for an after-reception-after-party. The day after the wedding we had our brunch at the hotel in the 1741 on Terrace Room. The Sunday brunch at the Hotel B will blow you away. Cynthia, who runs this brunch, helped make the day special by cutting out a one hour time slot for our guests to enjoy the brunch. She was great. The brunch was sooooooooooo good. After our original wedding coordinator left half way through our planning, our new coordinator Kelsey took over and, in spite of our worries, was completely accommodating to all of our needs. She was always reachable by phone or email daily, many times responding within minutes of my messages. This was extremely important to us and gave us confidence that Kelsey and her staff had everything under control. She worked with us on our menu choices and made substitutions that better suited the tastes of our guests. Since we decided to use a Hotel Bethlehem Book as our guest book, she gave us a complimentary copy (anyone who is wedding planning knows how great it is to get anything complimentary!) She arrainged an early check in for the Governor’s suite for the bridal party and also let the groomsmen use the Moravian room to get ready since they did not stay at the hotel. Since we were married on Friday October 13th, the Guest Experience Manager Kelly gave a complimentary “ghost tour” of the hotel to our guests before cocktail hour, which really helped make our wedding unique and gave our guests something to do between the ceremony and reception. The staff on the night of our wedding provided excellent service- no matter what issue arose they had an answer for and took care of everything- my cousin had arrived late after dinner and they prepared a plate for him, my husband’s grandfather was ill upstairs in his room and they made sure to bring his dinner to him as well, the flower vases were missing for the bouquets (because we had mistakenly brought them with us to the church instead of leaving them at the hotel) but next thing I knew there were vases for the bouquets set on the cake and gift tables. The entire evening was magical, and a large part of it was due to the experience and hospitality of Kelsey and her staff. The hotel itself is a beautiful backdrop for pictures, both inside and outside around historic Main Street. If I could I would do it all over again! They provide you with nicely printed plans to review what you picked out for the wedding so you have a chance to review everything in its entirety leading up to the big day. The entire system is very organized and no detail goes overlooked. Additionally, they were very accommodating with the hotel block and providing room totals to help coordinate welcome bags. We checked in on Friday, the day before the wedding. We had quite a few out of town guests, who congregated at the Tap Room downstairs in the Hotel Lobby for drinks. They were extremely accommodating for such a large group. The Bridal Suite was perfect, the rooms are extremely well decorated, clean and authentic to the style of the hotel. The hotel was nice enough to shuttle me across the street to the church because we were not sure if the weather would hold out. The cocktail hour was perfect, everything in the Grand Ballroom was perfectly set and ready to go because everyone could see the Ballroom from the cocktail hour balcony. We received wonderful service in the hospitality suite before we went out to cocktail hour, which allowed us to try all the foods and drinks before we got talking to everyone. The staff did an excellent job of ushering guests down to the ballroom and providing high end service during dinner. Everyone was super impressed with the level of organization. The dinner and cocktail hour food was impeccably prepared. They also did pour service for wine during dinner which everybody loved. Penn State Ice Cream bar was a major hit and so were the late-night snacks brought out around 10. Everyone had a wonderful time and everything ran so smoothly. In fact, the tour started 15 mins late so there was no sense of urgency at all. Unfortunately when I went for my tour my husband to be was not able to join me. I instead invited my mother, which was not an issue at all. In fact, you wouldn't think that my tour guide noticed at all because she completely ignored her presence. As we wandered the beautiful entrance of the hotel with our guide she never broke eye contact. For some reason this eye contact was not with us but rather the random people who were walking through the hotel. When we finally sat down at a table to go over details the tour guide showed us her impressive knowledge of the hotel. This knowledge included how to find reasons to leave the table while we looked at pictures. Finally, my mother and I were able to leave the table with a sense reality. The reality that I present myself as being too poor or uneducated to have a wedding at this venue. I'm glad these things were revealed to me because I was completely unaware. I am still anxiously awaiting the promised follow up phone call! I really think it's gonna work out! Reviewed on 07-04-2017
Rachel Horwath(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-03-2017 Booking the Hotel was one of the best decisions of the wedding. Kathy Sanders was incredibly helpful throughout the process through emails, personal meetings and the tasting. She made us confident that they would ensure everything was the way we wanted it. She helped us coordinate serving an ice cream cake from Cold Stone instead of the classic wedding cake. I would recommend any couple who books the hotel to view the ballroom with the tables how they will be set up when attempting the seating chart for better visualization. Our Maitre D'Hotel was fabulous. She took care of every detail the day of, managed the set up of all the decorations we had dropped off, and handled any incoming issues before they became problems and the guests were totally unaware. The private cocktail hour for the bridal party was such a blessing after the ceremony and pictures it was so nice to have a chance to relax. The food is incredible and several of our guests commented on how delicious everything was. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and my husband and I are incredibly grateful. The complimentary bridal suite for the night of the wedding was so great we booked another night! I would recommend the Hotel Bethlehem to anyone, it is truly a beautiful venue. We worked with Kathy Sanders at the hotel to plan our ceremony in the Mural Ballroom and reception the Grand Ballroom. Kathy and the staff at the hotel were very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to assist us at every turn. On the day of the wedding, I was actually not too worried about the timelines of the day. Everything seemed to fall perfectly into place and it was in large part because Kathy and the staff at the hotel made sure everything was running smoothly. My husband and I had a fantastic time and our guests were raving about how much fun they had, how good the food was, how great the bartenders were, and how awesome and cool the hotel was in general. The historic hotel is anything but generic, which attracted me to it when searching for a wedding venue. It was the perfect place for our ceremony and reception, and the perfect place to stay the night afterwards (which some of our guests did)! The rooms were charming, comfortable and clean. The suite my husband and I stayed in was nice and roomy and had an amazing view of Bethlehem and the valley.I loved having our entire wedding take place at the hotel. Our guests didn’t have to worry about driving to/getting lost on the way to the reception from the ceremony. My husband and I also didn’t have to worry about any extra transportation for ourselves after the ceremony or the reception. Our wedding coordinator, Kathy Sanders, accounted for every detail and coordinated seamlessly with our multiple vendors. She was incredibly attentive to detail and prompt with responses. Among other things, Kathy quickly accommodated our requests to bring in a pianist at cocktail hour, brunch the day after the wedding, signature cocktails, a change in ballroom chairs, and a room to prepare the morning of the wedding (even though our wedding was off-site). Kathy’s prompt responses, attention to detail, and knowledge of local vendors made her a one stop shop for all wedding-related questions; and in addition to everything else, she went so far as to help pick gnats out of my wedding gown after our photos in the gardens. In addition to Kathy, Hotel Bethlehem boasts an incredible staff who ensured all of our guests and wedding party had a blast. Our Maitre d’ coordinated the evening flawlessly, made sure my husband and I were fed, ensured the evening moved along smoothly, and had all our belongings accounted for at the end of the evening. I did not have to think about or coordinate one thing on the day of my wedding. Finally, our out of town guests raved about the hotel and Historic Bethlehem. They told us only good things about the charm and historic details of the hotel and the hotel staff as well. The location was perfect for out-of-town guests, who could walk along Main Street and explore by foot. The historic hotel is beautiful for a classic wedding and the Mural Ballroom looked stunning on the night of our wedding. I would recommend Hotel Bethlehem for any couple looking for a classic wedding with historic charm. The location is ideal for guests. Christine Waters(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-11-2015 My husband and I had our wedding reception at Hotel Bethlehem about a month ago. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life! From the moment we met with Terry, I knew she was a rock star. However, I never expected everything to be as perfect as it was! \rI remember asking married friends for wedding day tips during our engagement, and the piece of advice everyone would give me was: \"On your wedding day, something will go wrong. Be prepared to go with the flow\". I have to say, literally NOTHING went wrong on our wedding day, and that was all thanks to Terry and her wonderful staff! (And if something did go wrong, they made sure I knew nothing about it!). \rI will always remember walking into the Grand Ballroom for the first time. Terry casually pulled Jeff and I aside before our guests arrived and asked us if we would like a sneak peak of the ballroom. I am SO happy she did this! My husband and I had the entire ballroom to ourselves. It was absolutely stunning!! \rAnd the food was DELICIOUS! We had pecan crusted chicken, filet mignon, and eggplant napoleon, all paired with the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. \rI would also like to give a shout out to the amazing bellhops at Hotel Bethlehem. They were the nicest group of men and were so helpful. In the days leading up to the wedding, we easily brought over 3 carloads worth of items for the reception. They immediately jumped on it and helped us carry everything in, all while being cheerful. The day after the wedding, they happily helped us load 5 carloads worth of stuff to bring home (note: wedding dresses take up a lot of space!) and were so sweet while doing so. \rI could probably write a book on how amazing Hotel Bethlehem was, but instead I will leave it at this: it was perfect!\r Reviewed on 10-12-2015

Terry was our wedding coordinator and she could not do enough to ensure that our reception would be perfect from start to finish. First of all, you get what you pay for. We had the diamond package and the name speaks for itself. We (my husband and I, family, and all of our guests) were treated like royalty the entire night. We were welcomed with open arms and smiling faces. All of our guests have been raving about the food and excellent service. Every table at our reception had its own waiter/waitress, which was a very classy touch since everyone's requests were met promptly. Terry worked with us months prior to our wedding date to make sure that every tiny detail was taken care of. She was so prompt at returning all of my emails and addressing every single question I had. The entire hotel exudes class. Our wedding suite was immaculate and the staff even sent up gourmet sandwiches for my husband and I to eat after the reception, since we did not have an appetite during to eat our dinners. That was another thing...I was blessed to have TWO maître' d's and they could not do enough for me. They fixed me a plate of hors d'oeuvres and made sure that I was comfortable on every level. My husband and I had our own waitress who followed us with a bottle of champagne to make sure that we never ran dry as we danced the night away!
