Historic Walton House sits on five acres of landscaped gardens and water features, including a lagoon, waterfall, and sunken pond. The grounds are also home to macaws, parrots, flamingos, and giant tortoises. Owner Franklin Blanco takes a hands-on approach to weddings held here, ready to answer any questions you might have. He and his family have worked at this venue for decades, and hope to share its beauty with you for your big day. Guests from out of town will appreciate the convenient location, as Miami International Airport is just a 30-minute drive away.

The adjacent Love Bird Stable is available for a reception and has ample space for a dance floor. Its large windows and rustic chandeliers illuminate the space no matter the season. Outdoors, you are invited to take advantage of the lush surroundings. A tent can be erected to provide shelter in case of inclement weather, or you and your loved ones can enjoy the Florida sunshine. Franklin and his team of service staff are on hand to support you in whatever way you might need, including planning a destination wedding here. Assistance with catering and beverage services is also available.
Beautiful venue! We're from the Northeast and all of our guests were wowed by our destination wedding. Not only are Frank and his team easy to work with, but we loved how unique the venue is - lots of small areas for different parts of the night, our guests were amazed by the lush gardens, coves, animals and birds. We danced the night away under the lights - it is truly magical after dark! Reviewed on 09-01-2024

Historic Walton House was the only place we could have had our beautiful wedding. It feels like a taste of a destination wedding in our very own backyard that was perfect for a big Caribbean Wedding. Beautifully lush and full of life with special cocktail guests featuring animals! The photos we were able to capture were beautiful. We had attended a wedding here before booking and saw the magic of it all very well knowing that there was no other place we wanted. Our guests were also amazed at this unique venue and loved every aspect of it. Instead of just a reception at this venue you are able to craft a whole day experience as each part of the venue can be explored throughout various parts of the day (getting ready cottage for the ladies, first look, welcome cocktail, ceremony, photos, cocktail drinks, dance floor under the stars, dining reception under the canopy)... I cant emphasize enough how it was all a magical dream come to life . Both bridal and groom parties were able to get ready on the property without any problems which was ideal for coordinating with our photographers as well. Of note, we did have a no little kid policy given that the space is very large including bodies of water and the amount of animals around we wanted all of our guests to feel comfortable and relax which everyone afterwards agreeed was a great decision. Other considerations are to be mindful of uneven ground/gravel which can be easily maneuvered with back up plans including asking Frank about his golf cart and telling guests in advance so they can be mindful of shoes worn. Shout out to Frank who was very flexible and accommodating leading up to the wedding while we were still honing our vision of the wedding! His list of preferred vendors is also top notch and affordable... will do a special shout out to Elite Catering/Productions on that list who helped the vision come to life in a way I could not have imagined. What an amazing and unique venue for our wedding! My husband and I felt so lucky to find such a lush and jungly looking space to captivate our wedding guests. Frank was so friendly and nurturing to his venue. We feel so lucky to have gotten married at the Historic Walton House. HOWEVER, there were some cons. The bridal suite was very dusty and dirty when my bridal party and I arrived. I was nervous to let my dress move across the floor. The space my husband was able to use to get ready (the barn) was not prepped for him on arrival. The air conditioning was off, there was no mirror, etc. This made his time just before our first look a bit chaotic. Lastly, being biologists, we were very excited when learning that an animal educator would be attending our cocktail hour with animals to create an interactive experience for our guests. This didn't happen. Everyone was still excited to see all of the rescued animals in their enclosures, but we were disappointed to find out that this component did not come to fruition. Outdoor weddings can be tricky but for my dream venue, The Walton House, I was willing to take the risk and I am so glad I did. The Walton House was the first venue we visited and after seeing that one, nothing else measured up because this place really matched what we were looking for. Waterfalls, lanterns, special surprises everywhere. The photo spots are endless. And of course, the animals! Having all the birds, monkeys, lemurs, etc, on site make the Historic Walton House just about the grooviest venue you could hold a wedding at, one where all of your guests will be delighted and thoroughly entertained. During our Saturday night wedding, our guests were able to hold a baby alligator and interact with a kinkajou!! On wedding day, vendors are allowed on-site starting early in the morning which is great. And the wedding party is welcomed early as well. The bridal suite had champagne and OJ waiting for us, and Frank brought us yummy cuban coffee. And on that note, Frank (owner) was amazing to work with along the way. He is so kind and calm and accommodating. On wedding day, Frank came to the rescue with his golf cart and personally went above and beyond to assist my grandparents who were struggling with mobility issues. He even gave them a tour of the grounds which they loved. Aurora Tan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-07-2020 Frank IS one of the nicest people I’ve ever encountered to do business with in Miami. I’ve visited a lot of garden style venues around Miami and couldn’t decide which was the best until I visited Historic Walton House. It was love at first sight — I immediately fell in love with this magical place. There are monkeys, flamingos, peacocks, swans, parrots and many many animals here. You can forget anything bad that’s happening in your life once you step your feet into HWH because it’s truly a paradise. And as animal lovers, my husband and I couldn’t appreciate more about how Frank rescued a lot of animals. But what really made me pick HWH was Frank — when he toured us, you just could tell he was not just doing business but he devoted his passion and love to HWH. He loves his place and his animals wholeheartedly and I knew it’s a blessing to do business with such a genuine person. And I was not wrong. Frank has always been helpful, responsive, attentive, and very very sweet. I just can’t seem to find enough good words to describe his attitude towards his business. We visited HWH in Dec 2019 and our wedding was scheduled in May 2020. Unfortunately COVID-19 happened in March and we were forced to reschedule our wedding. Because of our personal reasons, we still wanted to have our wedding ASAP instead of postponing to next year but there were a lot of uncertainties going on especially in Miami-dade county. The venue had to close and reopen and face another “reclose” as the indoor dining was not allowed by the county. When I almost lost my hope of having my July Wedding, despite all the hardship, Frank tried his hardest to contact local officer and made our wedding happen. He complied with COVID-19 guidance by preparing masks, hand sanitizers and limiting guest counts. It was during such a hard time that the Frank’s attitude and integrity really shined through — he never refused to help but has always been there to try to help us. The wedding was so beautiful, it was definitely the best memory in my whole life. I just couldn’t appreciate more. Moreover, Frank’s sister Matie was also a very sweet lady. She owns the Airbnb next door, so if you are looking for a place to stay after the wedding, definitely consider her Airbnb. It was so clean, organize and spacious. Frank’s mom makes really good coffee too! His whole family is just so welcoming and sweet. If you are looking for a tropical garden style venue, look no further, because you won’t regret a tiny bit to do business with Frank and have a unforgettable wedding here. Reviewed on 29-08-2020

I’m an island girl so I basically grew up in paradise, and it was very important to me that we could find a venue that had a taste of home. The Walton House provided exactly that :) A beautiful and spacious tropical oasis with so much to offer, from their lush and gorgeous gardens, plants and flowers, to the number of exotic animals they shelter all over the estate. As we visited it, we could picture where each part of our big day would take place and we loved the fact that we could host our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception each in a different, charming and unique space! We wanted to provide an amazing experience to our guests, especially since many of them traveled quite far to celebrate with us. My fiancee' and I reserved a date for our wedding at The Walton House, but had to cancel shortly after for specific reasons. We don't live in Miami, so we decided to fly down to speak to Frank personally regarding our decision. He mentioned he would return a portion of our deposit since we were cancelling way in advance and that \"no other venue or company does this\". (which is false.). Since then, he has refused to do so and has completely ignored all calls and emails. He was very helpful during the beginning to show off his property and quick to reply via email when collecting money - but, when the role is reversed, he disappears. We put down a lot of money, and as a business owner, it's sad that he has decided to simply pocket it instead of return it as he mentioned - knowing he has done nothing, aside form showing us the venue and providing a pamphlet with preferred vendors. We've been extremely nice, even when ignored- but, we've had enough and leaving this review is to express our frustration. Unfortunately, this exact situation has occurred to another mutual couple and after several emails and calls ignored, they have decided to stop trying. Reviewed on 24-07-2018

We had to scramble to find another venue that was close enough to the hotel we had reserved for the guests in Key Largo and that would accommodate all of the vendors we had already booked and paid deposits for. And, let's face it, the new venue had to be at least as amazing as our first venue, which took our breath away.\r\rI found the Walton House online and loved it. Because I am originally from FL and my fiance's family is British, the combination of the tropical grounds and the English-style cottage seemed like a dream come true. I asked my parents to visit to make sure the pictures didn't mislead and they assured me it was even better in person! Unfortunately I personally wasn't able to visit prior to the wedding, but the Walton House worked closely with my parents and my vendors to make everything perfect. They accommodated our every request, including multiple site visits, and were so friendly and responsive. \r\rSo, again, I didn't get to see the place until the day before the wedding. After everything my parents had described, I was confident, but still nervous. Well, I was blown away. It's like stepping into a magical rain forest! The foliage is so lush and tropical, there are beautiful birds everywhere, including free-running peacocks, and the lighting at night is so elegant! \r\rMy bridesmaids and I got ready in the bridal suite, which was very comfortable. Being able to prep onsite was great and reduced a lot of our stress. My vendors were given plenty of time to set up. It was raining on and off, but we were able to easily move the ceremony into the gorgeously converted stables while keeping the original plan of dining outside near the stables and hosting cocktail hour in the tiki hut. \r\rThe guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the Walton House was. They were mostly from up North and were so impressed by how tropical everything was. They said that even the passing rain sprinkles added to the ambience and the magic. We had so much fun, and we owe so much of our wedding's success to the wonderful owners of the property and to the beauty of the venue. I highly recommend the Walton House to any bride! We planned a destination wedding in Key Largo at a beautiful seaside property 15 months ahead of the wedding. With four months to go to the wedding, the property owner advised us the property had been sold. As bad as this sounds, it turned out to be the most serendipitous thing that could happen. As we scrambled to find alternatives on short notice, my daughter discovered The Walton House in the Redland, near Homestead, Florida. The location was near enough to the hotel we were using for our guests (the Harbor Bay Marriott Resort in Key Largo) so no changes were needed for that arrangement. We visited and were immediately enchanted with not only this spectacular venue, but with the owners, Frank and Magali. They were very understanding of our predicament and received us warmly. After a tour of their amazing property we booked immediately.\r\rA huge plus was their easy accommodation of our requests and we were able to use the caterer and DJ we had already lined up. One of the greatest features of The Walton House is the ability to have a multiple number of options for where to have the ceremony and reception. The weather leading up to the wedding day had been rainy, so during rehearsal the night before we decided to move the ceremony to the main entrance from the lawn. On the day of the wedding, with the forecast still questionable, we moved the ceremony to the beautifully converted stable. This kind of versatility at The Walton House has a very calming and confidence inspiring effect. Further, the grounds offer unique paths through lush tropical grounds that take you and your guests to new discoveries, like the tiki hut and deck overlooking a delightful pond complete with beautiful swans. Exotic birds, including flamingos enhance the experience.\r\rMost of our guests were from northern US, Canada and England. All of them were absolutely raving about this venue and the wedding. It was nothing short of magical.\r\rLearning about the change in our original venue choice was disappointing, but it turned out to be the best thing that could happen. The Walton House turned out to be more beautiful, exotic and memorable making us completely forget we ever picked a different venue. It was a true blessing.\r\rIf you are planning a destination wedding or any wedding or event in the Keys or South Florida, there is no better place with nicer more professional people than The Walton House. We know, we checked into dozens of different spots and these people are the best. They are dedicated to making your wedding the most memorable occasion possible. I strongly recommend The Walton House if you are looking for a unique and memorable wedding for you and your guests. Reviewed on 04-12-2014
