Formerly Muncie's Federal Building, the Horizon Convention Center boasts a beauty typified by the glass-enclosed pavilion, outdoor terrace and classical splendor of the lobby's original interior. A 1996 expansion increased the facility's meeting space to 47,000 square feet. The experts at the Horizon Convention Center will assist you in planning a beautiful wedding reception. The Horizon Convention Center offers several beautiful rooms suited for events ranging in size from intimate gatherings to receptions with as many as 1,000 guests. We chose the Horizon Convention Center after our first venue canceled two and half months out from our wedding. They had a cancellation and we had it booked within 24 hours!As someone who has planned many events, I knew exactly what I wanted, and the team was so supportive of our vision!! They were very detailed oriented and organized. We had a personal event coordinator the entire time, and an amazing on-site event team for the evening. They provided a very safe, social distant wedding for our 200 guests. They followed each state and local standard, and went above and beyond to make sure our guests were comfortable and safe. What we loved about this venue was that they were able to accommodate any size wedding. That was reassuring that they would not cancel on us if we had to shrink the wedding to a much smaller size. We would highly recommend this venue! Don't forget that the Marriott is attached to it too, which is super convenient for your guests!

The Horizon Convention Center is just the right place to hold a wonderful wedding reception! We had our reception there on June 26, 2021. The staff, especially our wedding coordinator Treva Bivens and Chef Austin, were professional and willing to help us in any way possible. They helped though the planning process, even right up to last minute changes as we approached our wedding day and throughout the day of our event. Having a beautiful ballroom with twinkling lights set the mood for a romantic evening and the decor for the tables and throughout the ballroom had my guests “ooohing” and “aaaahing” all night. The service was above and beyond! My guests raved about the menu and couldn’t wait to tell me how much they enjoyed their delicious dinner provided through the catering staff and Chef Austin! Our DJ kept the night going with family and friends on the dance floor all night long! While navigating through Covid and all the planning, the staff at the Horizon Convention Center truly took the time to get to know us and helped us along these many crazy months of planning to pull off the wedding reception of my dreams! This venue holds a special place in my heart and I have many happy, joyful memories from our reception there! I am grateful for the support of the staff and would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for just the right place to hold their wedding reception!

The Horizon Convention Center is just the right place to hold a wonderful wedding reception! We had our reception there on June 26, 2021. The staff, especially our wedding coordinator Treva Bivens and Chef Austin, were professional and willing to help us in any way possible. They helped though the planning process, even right up to last minute changes as we approached our wedding day and throughout the day of our event. We chose the Horizon Convention Center for our daughter's wedding this past spring (2021). The buildings and grounds around the Center are beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop to our daughter's big day. We met with the event planner along the way and she made sure every moment was covered in our planning. It was amazing everything was thought of and taken care of which lead to a stress-free day for our bride and myself. We were afforded the opportunity to provide as much of the decorations and special pieces to make the day perfect. On the day of the wedding, we were able to devote all our time to our daughter and son-in-law. Treva and the rest of the HCC staff took care of everything! Our guests were in aww of how beautiful the Center was and the food was delicious! Chef Austin is the best! We chose to use the DJ associated with the Center, AMS, and they did a fantastic job from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception...they didn't miss a beat! At the end of the night, we were able to retreat to our room at the adjacent Marriott Hotel, another great decision, and not have to worry about cleaning up the venue. The Horizon Convention Center was the perfect location for our daughter's big day. We wouldn't change a thing!

The venue was decorated so very tastefully, we had no idea that there was any place in Muncie, Indiana like this. We were so happy that our granddaughter chose this beautiful wedding venue.The staff was outstanding in every aspect, just a pleasure to be around. My son and his husband held their ceremony and reception at the Horizon Convention Center. The planning was so easy. We felt confident through out the entire process from the first contact until the day of the wedding that it would be perfect and it definitely was. They take care of all the little details. It was so convenient having the wedding and reception at the same location. The attached hotel made it easy for our out-of-town guests. Our wedding coordinator, Treva, was so accommodating and made our family feel like we were in good hands. We are still getting calls and comments from our guests about how beautiful it was, how good the food was and what a great time they had celebrating with us. What more could you ask for?

Our wedding coordinator, Treva, was extremely helpful and easy to talk to, and she worked hard to make sure everything went just as planned. She also had many great suggestions on ways to enhance the bride and groom's vision of the wedding and reception. The facility is beautiful, well-decorated, and very clean, and the staff at the reception were all polite and professional. The food we ordered was delicious and served right on time. We liked having the Courtyard by Marriott hotel right next door for the bridal party and the groom's out-of-town guests, and the hotel was a lovely place to stay. Our families were all delighted with how nice everything is at Horizon Convention Center and I would highly recommend booking an event there.

If our daughter had a summer wedding, we would have chose a different vendor, but for a January wedding during a winter storm, the Horizon Convention Center proved to workout very well. Thank God for our guests that came from as far as Tennessee and Florida, we had almost a 70% attendance. We used the 1/3 interurban for the ceremony and the 2/3 interurban for the reception, that way our guests never had to leave the Horizon Center and having the Marriott with garage next door with connecting hallways made it even more convenient. If I were to criticize anything, it would be the 1/3 interurban ceremony room. It is fairly narrow and I think they could do something better with the background curtains. Also the stage is small and squeaked during the ceremony, I hope when we get the videos back, we don’t hear the noise in the background. The stage needs some work. Treva held at least three meetings with us and you’ll need that to learn about all the options and help with planning your wedding. Overall though, our family and guests seemed to enjoy their selves, so if you plan a winter wedding, I would recommend you checking out the Horizon Convention Center.

A night to remember. From the beginning of the evening to the very end everything flowed like clockwork. We cannot compliment Treva and her staff highly enough. They were kind, professional, and courteous. The room and service were elegant and beautifully done. The food was excellent. We really wanted pork chops and the chef worked with us to create a special meal and they were delicious! Got so many compliments on our day, one guest actually requested we get married every year! The staff is wonderful and really work to make sure the bride and groom are happy!

Would have liked to have seen a nicer dressing room with mirrors for the bridal party and had more staff available as soon as we arrived. Overall, it was perfect.

Don't get me wrong, the venue is absolutely beautiful. The room decorations were gorgeous & very memorable. However, the service was what was so disappointing. The entire time I was told I would be #1 priority. However, there were 2 other weddings going on at the same time as mine, & we felt totally neglected. My wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found when we made our official entrance so there was this awkward, \"So what do we do now moment?,\" which was precisely what I did not want to happen. Throughout the night, I had the hardest time finding my wedding coordinator anywhere. The food was surprisingly good. However, many of my guests & my bridal party informed me that they heard the staff & wedding coordinator bad-mouthing & making fun of the DJ I hired, guests, and different parts of the wedding. Additionally, they completely laid blame on my DJ for the disorganized beginning. Another issue was I personalized & brought in many items into the reception & let the staff know I was planning on keeping them, but the staff had already threw items away as they were cleaning up, which was before the reception was even over. As much as the venue cost, I was expecting so much more. Beautiful, but not worth the price to me.
