With more than 62,000 square feet of event space, including two grand ballrooms, we offer an unforgettable backdrop for your special day. The centerpiece is our 19th-century style non-denominational chapel which seats 156 wedding guests under a soaring vaulted beam ceiling, the San Isidro de Capilla.
Since they didn’t have the decency to respond to my email, I will share it with all of you! Hello, I wanted to reach out and let you know that we had our wedding at Hotel Albuquerque on the 2nd of September. I regret to inform you of our negative experience.       We had a total of four different wedding coordinators throughout the 9 months we were engaged and had decided on this venue. That means we had a different coordinator every two months. The day of the wedding during the reception and cocktail hour our coordinator was nowhere to be found; she did not pick up any calls and I had guests coming to us for answers, so instead of enjoying our time we had to spend it directing people and explaining. At the time of the cocktail hour, we were introduced to Jose Sanchez, he was the most help during this but even the supervisor at Hotel Albuquerque didn't know who he was and questioned him in front of us.       We had many meals not served and two of our children's plates with dietary restrictions were not provided. Our kid meals which were hamburgers were served raw/severely undercooked that they had to be returned resulting in our kids eating last and not with the rest of the guests. These are meals we paid our hard-earned money for, so for them to not be readily available when the rest of the meals were handed out was very disappointing. We had guests complain that their cake slices disappeared when they went to dance for a few minutes. I am not saying the cakes needed to be left out all night, but I had family who did not even try the cake. Our guests informed us that many plates and glasses were removed before finishing and when they questioned the waiters and waitress' they told them they had another event.       Family and friends stayed at the hotel and even that came with issues. My sister-in-law who lives in Albuquerque wanted to stay with her family in the hotel to enjoy herself at the party. They reserved room number removed , they have three young children, and the neighboring guests were having very loud sexual intercourse that prevented my family from enjoying the rest of their night.Overall, we were disappointed in the service we received. It felt like there was more importance given to the other wedding that day, which is ultimately very sad. We were so disappointed we decided against staying for breakfast the next day. We have friends getting married next year and they have asked us for our opinion and although the venue is beautiful our experience makes it difficult to recommend. Reviewed on 13-09-2023

Hotel Albuquerque went above and beyond for our wedding! They are extremely organized and know what they’re doing. We loved working with them and our coordinator, Beth, was so on top of everything. They made our wedding beautiful and I would do it a million times again. Reviewed on 01-09-2023
Leah Smith(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2021 Our biggest disappointment with Hotel Albuquerque was that our cards were stolen at some point during the wedding (as were the cards at another wedding at the hotel that night). You would think with how much you’re paying the hotel you wouldn’t have to worry about this. We’ve learned that this has happened before at this same venue, so just be aware of that when considering Hotel Albuquerque. We also worked with three different event planners while planning our wedding here. It was as if our wedding was just being passed along from person to person, causing a lot of miscommunication. There were long gaps between email responses due to this. The food at our tasting was cold, however many people complemented the food at the actual wedding. Just thought that should be noted as well. While our wedding was beautiful, Hotel Albuquerque just didn’t live up to the hype. With the poor communication, high price and lack of professionalism, I might consider having your wedding elsewhere. Reviewed on 09-11-2021
Kathy Nelsen(other)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2021 WORD OF CAUTION! - Of course you want a beautiful wedding! BUT- Hotel Albuquerque may not be the place to have it! On August 28, 2021 -The bride and groom were stunning, our decorations were beautiful, and family and friends were wonderful – BUT – thousands of dollars from the gift card box were stolen, and the hotel states that they take “no responsibility” (same for another wedding whose cards were stolen on the same day). The hotel rep. stated that “many times people think the housekeepers take things only to get home and find the items in their underwear”. Really? We will look again, but do not expect to find the cards in our underwear! Why would they state that “this has never happened before” – when they were aware that it had happened at another wedding the same day! We filed a police report. Hotel Albuquerque did not (for either wedding). In addition, there was not a good place for the bride to wait to walk down the chapel aisle. My daughter had to wait in a hall and as a result she had to greet many of the guests prior to the wedding. For the outside wedding the bride was standing in the hall as well. The Chapel is beautiful, but was very hot, even though we had asked prior to the wedding day to make sure the air conditioning was working. Food service did not have a consistent flow. Some guests received their dinner, while others waited. Some guests stated that their steak was too rare to eat; others stated that theirs was to tuff to eat. We included multiple appetizers, and when they were passed around, no plates were provided to seated guests, and later no forks were provided at the wedding cake desert table. The hotel rooms are not updated. SO – if you are concerned about security and quality, you might want to look elsewhere! Reviewed on 20-09-2021
Tiffany Emery(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2019 Hotel Albuquerque was a great venue for our wedding ceremony. The outdoor pavilion is beautiful, especially in the spring and summer when all of the greenery is blooming. The backdrop for the bride and groom is also beautiful, and our pictures came out wonderful! The staff was also very helpful throughout the wedding. Lindsay became the coordinator midway through our planning, and she was great in helping plan all the details we needed. During the rehearsal, she was very helpful in organizing everyone and making sure everything ran smoothly. On our wedding day, Lindsay and Brittany both were very helpful in ensuring everything went smoothly as well. They set up our decor, and, even though the day was unexpectedly windy, they were helpful in ensuring there were no problems. They tied down certain decor to keep it from blowing and, when the wind blew one of the unity sand glasses off of the table, they were quick to clean it up. We appreciated their help throughout the process, and the venue was beautiful and we were thankful to have our wedding there! Reviewed on 20-06-2019
Chip Sosa(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2018 After reserving a spot in Summer 2017, my wife and I held our wedding reception in June 2018 at the Hotel Albuquerque. Honestly, it was phenomenal in every way and exceeded our expectations. Specifically, Carin the event coordinator, who joined the Hotel Albuquerque midway through our planning process was phenomenal. She really went above and beyond, and helped us to tailor the reception to what we had in mind, while having a real eye for providing guidance when we needed. The days before the wedding she really helped to simplify the process and take as much off our plate as possible, including coordinating the entire setup process. On the day of the wedding, the entire staff was phenomenal. From the hostesses to the bartenders and wait staff, our guests were treated phenomenally, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Despite all of this, we were easily able to come in under our wedding budget. We would not change a thing, and would give Hotel Albuquerque (as well as Carin) the highest of recommendations. This venue is perfect for an Albuquerque wedding if you are not into the casino hotels. The pavilion, the chapel and the Alvarado ballroom are grand! I love the ceiling and lights in the ballroom and I loved the greenery and new chandeliers in the pavilion area! The chapel was nice and cool and is where we did our rehearsal. When we met our first coordinator we were unsure if this would be the best option for us. But once Carin got there, we felt so much better. She was enthusiastic and informative and accommodating. I loved the buffet selection we chose when we did our taste test and everyone enjoyed the food on our wedding day too! We had purchased our own linens and centerpieces are we were allowed to set up the night before which was very helpful! Our rehearsal dinner was through gardunos and we loved it. They were accommodating as well because we were unsure if it would rain during the dinner, the moved us into a room inside the hotel. Everything was perfect! The only downside was the next morning after our wedding we found out that two of our guests had their trucks broken into. (Typical Albuquerque). But other than that everything was perfect! Analise Lotz(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-12-2017 Hotel Albuquerque provides a beautiful venue for your wedding, however you must be prepared for severe customer service issues such not responding to your calls/emails, misplacing your tasting dates, inability to provide financial accounting and most importantly misappropriating your personal items with no hotel/management accountability.I booked my wedding at Hotel ABQ 1 year in advance. I should have anticipated problems after the innumerable voice mails and e-mails to even discuss booking the venue. During the year leading up to my wedding, voice/e-mails were unanswered, deadlines were missed, financial accounting did not occur and multiple phone calls/e-mails were required to get a response for any questions. The wedding event planner is inattentive, uninterested and does not follow through. She even shared her dislike of weddings/rehearsals in the chapel where my guests were sitting during our rehearsal.I provided specialty beverages for my wedding after consultation with the wedding planner. I was assured that the hotel staff could manage this. Beverages were ordered with the understanding that there would be overage and that it was to be returned to me after the wedding. In spite of requesting a return of the unused beverages immediately after the wedding, and multiple phone calls following the wedding, I was informed that my specialty beverages were used by the hotel staff for other events at the hotel. Hotel management did nothing to replace/refund or acknowledge the theft of my property. Please don’t use the Garduno’s restaurant in the hotel for your rehearsal dinner. The food and service are terribly disappointing. Select another venue for your dinner you will be very dissatisfied. My wedding day was the only thing that was perfect. The wedding and reception were beautiful and our guests had a great time! We had our ceremony in their outdoor pavilion and it was gorgeous! Their food is awesome and was just as good at the reception as it was at our tasting. The wedding coordinator, Liz Robinson, is very professional and on top of everything and overall great to work with. She did a great job helping us through the planning process and making sure we weren't forgetting anything. The only small issues we had were with minor details. My name was spelled incorrectly on the signs outside of the reception room, my mom was given the wrong linens when she went back the day after the wedding to pick everything of ours up, and some of our items (our cake topper and a few other items for the reception our families had brought) were misplaced and our cake was mistakenly thrown away. We would definitely recommend having your wedding at Hotel Albuquerque! Hotel Albuquerque has a fantastic special events/banquet department, however the hotel accommodations leaves a lot to be desired. The catering department sent a cheese tray to the bride and groom room, accompanied by sparkling cider. Are we teenagers? In order to get two real bottles of champagne we paid $84 to the hotel. After spending so much money on the chapel rental at the hotel, I would have thought more care would have been put into our ammentities. Also, there is no exit to the outside from the bridal room in the chapel, so the bridal party was forced to wait outside \"hidden\" for 45 minutes, in the freezing cold, so that no one got sight of us. It's the little things that really stick out in your mind; something so nice, dampened by things that were overlooked.\rMy bridesmaids and I got ready in the \"bridal suite\" in the hotel.
