The in-house coordinator alone made this vendor worth every penny. She was well organized and communicating with me every step of the way. The room is beautiful on its own with minimal need for decor. The staff was organized and quickly did a flip from ceremony to reception set up while we took photos. Great backdrop for our photos as well. Reviewed on 06-11-2023

Brianne Avery(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-11-2023 I can't say enough good things about Hotel Blackhawk. We used them for both our wedding and reception, catering, and hotel rooms. From the moment we booked the venue, the venue's coordinator Kimberlin was in touch every step of the way. She helped remind us of deadlines as they approached, answered any and all of our questions, and was an overall lifesaver! She went well above and beyond to make sure our day was special, and even had mimosas sent to our suite while the girls were getting ready on the wedding day! And she was excellent about coordinating with our decor rental company, floral, and dessert vendors. The staff at Hotel Blackhawk were all very friendly and accommodating also. Our suite was beautiful, spacious, and spotless. We were able to use our honeymoon suite on the wedding morning for the girls to get ready, and we all had plenty of room to move around, plus there was a nice living and dining space and a full kitchen. The venue is absolutely beautiful and timeless, with gorgeous chandeliers and fixtures everywhere you look. We were also able to host both our rehearsal dinner and post-wedding Sunday brunch at the venue, which was super convenient for all of our out-of-town guests. And the food is amazing! They do catering in-house so the food was hot and fresh for each meal that was hosted there. Overall I can't say enough good things about the venue and especially about Kimberlin, and our wedding was perfect thanks to the Hotel Blackhawk and their staff. Reviewed on 06-09-2022
Ann d(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-07-2021 I had a lot of out of town guests, so I chose Hotel Blackhawk not only because of its gorgeous interior, but also because it is a great hotel near plenty of restaurants/bars/activities, and you can have everything in one location (rehearsal dinner, spa, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after-party, brunch). I did my hair, nails, and makeup at the Spa, and several of the guys did shaves and haircuts there, too. The bowling alley was actually a lot of fun. Kimberlin was incredibly responsive and flexible, and the catering team did a phenomenal job. I received nothing but compliments from my guests. It is a bit more expensive for the area, but you will save money in the end by having everything in one location that already is beautifully decorated. Reviewed on 06-07-2021
Lauren Twidell(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-04-2021 Overall I am happy with the outcome of my wedding and reception at the Blackhawk Hotel. The pros of having your wedding at the Blackhawk are: most of the work is included in the price such as set up, tear down, and the tables and chairs. You can get your hair done in the salon for the bridal party if you'd like too. It was so convenient to have food located at the hotel too and it was high quality. The chef was so nice and was so helpful! Cons: Although I planned my wedding during the worst of Covid-19 which brought a lot of changes to weddings at the Blackhawk such as no more in house baker (which I'm glad that didn't work out because I loved the baker I ended up hiring!), still being charged a cake cutting fee even when we were originally promised an in house baker in our contract, and the biggest con was being passed around to several wedding coordinators during my entire wedding process. I was passed around 3 times due to staffing changes and even had a completely different wedding coordinator the day of my wedding whom I'd never heard about. So technically I had 4 different wedding coordinators by the time my wedding was finished. This made wedding planning way more difficult than it should've been and during the entire time I planned my wedding I felt like I was doing the coordinator's job for them and reminding them of the decisions that needed to be made on time. This was my biggest frustration with the hotel because of the amount my family and I were paying them for the lack of organization and professionalism from the coordinator I had at that time. However, I will say my husband and I were so impressed and relieved to work with Kimberlin! She was the final wedding coordinator I worked with the whole weekend of my wedding. My wedding was the first wedding she worked at the Hotel Blackhawk (she worked at a different hotel prior) and she did phenomenally! She was on top of everything despite having jumped in literally the night before my wedding, gave me her phone number in case I needed anything, and if I did she took care of it all! My husband and I appreciated her so much because of how organized and on top of everything she was! If you plan a wedding at the Hotel Blackhawk ask for Kimberlin! Reviewed on 05-05-2021
Suzanne DeSutter(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-08-2019 We held our daughter’s wedding reception at Hotel Blackhawk.... and we could not have been more pleased! The wedding coordinator, Katherine, was efficient and friendly.... and always accessible when we had questions. The Gold Room is breathtaking! As our daughter now lives in the Chicago area, this is where the majority of our guests were from.... and even they were impressed Hotel Blackhawk! Several of us stayed in the hotel rooms, which were clean and up to date. My daughter and I had our hair styled in their salon on her wedding day.... and were thrilled with the outcome! (Thank you Anna and Lily!) Also I left my MOB dress in the room when we checked out... and the manager made a special effort to retrieve it for me within a few minutes of my call. Without hesitation, my husband and I would recommend this hotel for a wedding reception! Reviewed on 30-09-2019
MC Chang(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2018 This review is long overdue, but I still think back to that magical day in September and can't help but smile. Kaitlin and the hotel staff did an amazing job and exceed all of our expectations! My husband and I looked for a venue that excelled in service, food, and character; and we're so thankful to have found Hotel Blackhawk. After looking far and wide for the right venue, we chose Hotel Blackhawk not only because it was a central location for our families to gather (we're from WI, and had guests from FL to CA), but because our initial conversations with Kaitlin proved that she was the right coordinator for us. Kaitlin went above and beyond to make sure our questions and concerns were addressed. Kaitlin provided me with many trustworthy vendor recommendations, and offered many accommodations to ensure my plans would go smoothly. Kaitlin was incredibly responsive to emails throughout the planning stage, and made sure we were well taken care of on our wedding day. She was really just a pleasure to work with, and we can't thank her enough for her service! My guests raved about how nice and attentive the staff were. I'm truly thankful for Hotel Blackhawk's kind accommodations for our large families. The staff were respectful, welcoming, and flexible, which tremendously helped with easing wedding stress. The venue was absolutely beautiful. The flip from ceremony to reception in the gold room was quick and seamless. Again, we could not have picked a more perfect wedding venue, and we have Kaitlin and the HB staff to thank for our perfect day! Reviewed on 31-05-2019

Mandy Baxter(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2016 Wedding rooms were blocked 10 months in advance. I was told rooms would be added to the block as they filled up. However, 6 weeks before the wedding our guests were told there were no more rooms in our block, and in order for them to get a room, they would need to pay almost $200 more per night than the block price. I was the bride, and requested a regular king size room (no jacuzzi) but was given a Jacuzzi Suite and had to pay extra for the added parlor room for an additional bed. Also, there is a $100 per night charge for incidentals that I was not told about ahead of time, which put some of our guests in a financial hardship. The hotel is very beautiful and was very clean. I just felt overall the customer service was lacking. Reviewed on 14-06-2016
Sara Schaubroeck(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2015 The Hotel Blackhawk was a fantastic place for our wedding reception. We had a lot of out of town guests so it was great not having to transport them anywhere and we received a lot of Marriott Rewards points. The Gold Room is so beautiful on it's own that we didn't pay for any extra decorations besides flowers. The food was AMAZING. It tasted great and were large portions. The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is because the catering prices increased significantly between the time we booked and when the prices were guaranteed so it was more expensive then we planned in the budget. Kelly Duffy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2012 The Hotel Blackhawk is the best place, in my opinion, in the Quad Cities to have a wedding or reception. We looked at a few other places but it was really no contest. We wanted something with a little character, not just a hotel banquet room, and the Blackhawk is just beautiful. We kept our reception decorations to a minimum because the room is so gorgeous on it's own, that we chose simple elegant flowers and linens to compliment the room. Everyone that we worked with was very helpful and attentive. They even let us add things to our menu that were not on their list. The food was hot and tasted great. They double book our room for brunch the next morning and took care of the issue right away. They were very apologetic about the mix up. It is a beautiful site and I would recommend it to anyone.
