A wedding should be iconic, just like your love story. For over 132 years, The Del has hosted generations of newlyweds, and the friends and family who adore them, in an incomparable coastal backdrop.
Go California casual and have an effortless barefoot ceremony on our glittering beach. Or channel the glamour of Old Hollywood among the wood-domed ceilings, chandeliers and heart-stirring views of our Crown Room and oceanfront Ballroom.
Few places in California fulfill the dream of exchanging vows on the beach and having a reception in the sand - with the ease The Del provides. None offer the complete services, destination experiences and enchantment of The Del.
Michelle O'Reilly(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-02-2023 The Hotel Del Coronado was our daughter's dream wedding venue. To say the Del and incredible staff lived up to her and our expectations is an understatement. They are incredible to work with for a perfect outcome. The Del is unparalleled for beauty and elegance, and the best place to begin your lifetime of memories. We are beyond grateful to everyone from the front door man and the phenomenal chef, to the excellent Resort Manager. Look no farther than the Del for any event you want to host. Do yourself a favour and stay far, far away!!!!!!! They are the most difficult to get in touch with and do not answer emails, phone calls, anything. It will create a lot of stress which you do not need for your special day. Reviewed on 27-11-2021

The worst- never responded to multiple inquiries about our wedding.I initially did not select Hotel Del Coronado as a potential venue, but my partner liked the look so we wanted to reach out for more information about their wedding packages. Called them since the beginning of Sept, over two months ago, without any response whatsoever from the so-called ‘catering team’. Since September we have tried messaging them on Wedding Wire and The Knot, as well as through their own hotel website. We even spoke with the front desk of the hotel, who said they would leave a message with the catering department and ask them to contact us, but not a peep, ever. We wonder if it may be because we are holding a smaller wedding (30 guests) and they think it is perhaps not worth their time that we did not get any response after multiple times trying to follow-up, leaving them our email, phone number etc. So they definitely could contact us if they had wanted to. I feel this place gives off vibes of a mediocre venue with jacked up prices for tourists, and honestly the view is not even great (we noticed all the pictures are beautiful at first glance, but the decorations like flowers etc. Are what make them beautiful- the beach is just another beach view unremarkable from any other beach or oceanfront property). We ended up signing our contract with The Lodge at Torrey Pines, and have had 100000X better experience with them so far. We think the venue is classier and much more beautiful with cliff side views of the Pacific Ocean. I am glad we avoided the disaster that could have been with Hotel Del. Reviewed on 26-11-2021
Kevin Ehret(groom)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2020 DO NOT HIRE! We love the Del’s location and appearance, but the Management from the Event Coordinator, to the restaurant Managers are just the worst. Nothing that was promised was given, and when we needed to speak to one of the 3 main people no one was to be found. After an hour plus looking for our Lunch reception coordinator she was filled with excuses and no action. My 68 year old father was moving around umbrellas, we had guests that had to open their own champagne, running to the bar to grab their own drinks, and flagging down our server for refill of waters. I am leaving out their names as to save themselves from embarrassment, but they know exactly who they are and can not disagree with this post. The lack of communication between their staff members were abhorrent. Let me also mention that our wedding was a total of 17 people. Let me repeat that, 17! I would suggest to anyone that wants to get married on the beach in Coronado go through a private wedding planner and just get a beach permit. Also, as I read over the bill they have double charged for 3 different items and charged for self parking when we did not drive. Talking with other guests at the pool many had similar experiences. The entire management staff needs a complete change-over. Sorry for the long review but do not know where else to voice my frustration. DO NOT HIRE!!! Reviewed on 18-10-2020

Cathy Koutoufidis, the Catering Sales Manager at the Del, was absolutely incredible. She thought of every detail for our big day - even the ones we had not thought of! The food was amazing, the view unbeatable and all of our guests loved the history and elegance for the Hotel del Coronado. We could not be happier. Thank you so much! Reviewed on 14-11-2016

Jenny Green(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2015 Hotel del is an absolutely gorgeous venue! The location is spectacular with ocean views and a historic hotel making a great backdrop to the big day. We had a whole weekend of events on the property (welcome smores on the beach, farewell brunch) and guests couldn't stop commenting about the location. We did our ceremony and cocktail hour on the Windor lawn (complete with lawn games and antique furniture) and the reception in the spectacular crown ballroom. Only a few comments that made it not 5 stars. 1) we had 3 different banquet coordinators during the course of our planning and they didn't communicate well. Also the banquet coordinator was separate from AV which was separate from booking, making communication difficult. If it weren't for my wedding coordinator and my mom staying on top of things, I feel like things might have gotten dropped. 2) Our food was spectacular but the tasting was fairly limited in what we were allowed to taste, so we ended up picking multiple items for our wedding that we hadn't tasted ahead of time. Courtney Thompson(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-07-2015 I had my wedding at the Hotel Del. We had the ceremony and reception here. The reception was held in the Coronet room which is right off the crown room. The space is good if you are having a smaller wedding. We had 90 people at our reception and it was a little cramped. The dance floor is rather small. But the room is beautiful. The wood paneling and the large crown chandelier bring the special charm of the Hotel Del. The staff is helpful but we did have issues with the hotel management. When my bridal party arrived at 7 am to start hair and makeup, the bridal prep room was not set up. So we wasted 2 hours waiting for them to set up the room and actually had to have some of my bridal party members sit outside and start having their hair and makeup done. That was irritating, but the kicker was after the reception, my new husband and I went to our honeymoon suite, which was a very small room with a queen bed that had views of the parking lot. We were very disappointed that after spending as much money as we did, the service and quality of what we received wasn't up to par. I would recommend having your wedding somewhere else after all was said and one. There are tons of beautiful hotels and event places in SoCal. Reviewed on 09-08-2015

Samantha Spears(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-11-2010 We could not have picked a more beautiful location than the Hotel Del to host our wedding. The room was gorgeous--just the right size for our party, and it overlooked the ocean--and the service was impeccable. The event staff was friendly and professional, and assuaged any planning concerns I had. My only complaint is that they tend to nickel and dime you, which I found just a bit insulting considering how expensive the hotel already is (some examples: $6-per-person cake cutting fee if you don't use their preferred baker, which was extremely pricey; no complimentary food tasting unless your pre-tax-and-gratuity food and beverage contract exceeds $10,000--if you would like to do a tasting anyway, it comes in at a whopping $90 per person; you must provide your own liability insurance for the event, which makes me wonder what the $2,500 fee for using the room actually covers...) Don't get me wrong, if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Just make sure you're aware of all the hidden extras and how much they're going to cost. Reviewed on 13-12-2010
