Hotel Kansas City Reviews
Lily Tideman(other)5 out of 5 Rating
Hotel Kansas City was a BEAUTIFUL place to have our wedding. I just love the glamour, drama, history, and elegance of it. We had our ceremony on the terrace overlooking Kansas City, cocktail hour in the bar by the terrace, and the reception in the Starlight Ballroom. All of our guests raved about THE FOOD, which was SO SO GOOD. It was not generic wedding food, it was unique and interesting and DELICIOUS, everyone was so impressed. It did cost us an arm and a leg, and we even had a discount because we had a Friday wedding. But, I wouldn't change a thing. The service was also incredible. All the servers knew my name! I felt like a queen. The 'King Loft' suites that came with our package were incredible. Perfect place to get ready and spend our first nights as husband and wife! Also, we did EVERYTHING in that hotel: getting ready, getting coffee, getting hitched, the reception, then we partied it on down to Nighthawk at the end of the night. It's really a one-stop shop for the best day of your life. AND, we can go back any time and eat at The Town Company and stay there for the mems, which we will absolutely be doing for anniversaries and special occasions for years to come. HKC is a special place for us! Reviewed on 18-11-2023

Katie and Regan were so responsive, organized and wonderful to work with in setting up our contract and ultimately planning & executing our event. The guests and even vendors couldn't stop complimenting the food and stunning design of the hotel. Also, being able to have all of our out of town guests in the same place as the welcome drinks (Nighthawk) and wedding day events made everything totally stress free in the middle of January. They also have a great relationship with KC wedding planners, which made for a seamless transition when we began working with our day-of coordinator. It is a beautiful tribute to the buildings own history and to Kansas City itself, and is well worth a visit regardless of whether or not youâre spending the night - but you certainly wont regret it if you do!Personally, I stayed at Hotel Kansas City to utilize it as a bridal suite, and it was the perfect place to get ready at/in and to have as the backdrop for some fabulous photos. The staff are all very professional and accommodating - from the valet(s) to the front desk and everyone in between. We made several requests that were all accommodated graciously, and all of our personal items, from valet parked cars to luggage and food delivered to our room, where handled with care. My guests were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the entire building - from our Loft Suite King room to the stairwell/chandelier to the lobby. The room itself was stunning. We had a fabulous view of Kansas City and were able to comfortably accommodate 16 people (as well as food and hair/makeup styling products). It was very clear that a lot of thought and care had gone into making the room ready for us; from the local goodies that were left inside to how pristine the room was. Reviewed on 12-11-2021

They are experienced, professional, knowledgeable and just very nice people. They know the routine and make it easy to plan your celebration. They provide a full package that guides you through the planning. They provide a list of accepted vendors that frees you from worrying about insurance, bonding, dependability and quality. The list is long so you have a wide variety to choose from, but you know they are all able to do a quality job. I actually leaned on Debâs experience and expertise and proceeded without the expense of a wedding planner. That turned out to be a great decision for us.Performance: We had the Ceremony and the Reception on the Rooftop. Obviously, weather plays a factor but Deb allowed us to make the inside/outside decision right up to the final day. They have experienced it all so they were calm and confident they could handle anything that came up. And, they did. Beautifully and professionally. Their confidence kept us calm and relaxed also. They handled the change from rows of seating for the service to beautiful tables for the dinner and reception quietly, efficiently and professionally while our cocktail hour flowed smoothly nearby. The bartenders were professional, knowledgeable very pleasant and hard working the entire night. The clean lines of the Rooftop ballroom allow you to work with Deb, your florist and entertainment provider to paint the canvass in the colors and styles that work for you. The bartenders, staff who flipped the room, etc were all so professional, and the day could not have gone more smoothly! Our guests loved the space. Itâs so timeless, beautiful, and unique. I loved our experience with Brass on Baltimore - some tips to future brides would be to read over the contract closely so you are aware of all of the rules and stipulations, and also, if you plan to utilize the Tudor Room, pay close attention to the timing of your event and the timing of sunset so you make sure you have some time in there while the stained glass is still bright and beautiful!! :) Reviewed on 02-03-2017

Amanda Wilson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2016 From the very beginning, the Brass took the time to answer all of our questions and explain how things would go on the wedding day. We were initially paired with a wonderful salesperson, Danielle, who spent about two hours walking us through the event spaces in the building and patiently answering the MANY questions we had. We went to see one other venue after touring the Brass - the salesperson pretty much said \"so this is the space\" and showed us around for maybe 10 minutes. We walked straight back to the Brass to sign the contract! We ended up holding both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception at the Brass. Danielle left the Brass a few months after we booked the venue, and we ended up working with Deb and Syl to finish out our planning process! They were both wonderful to work with, and Syl brought our day to the finish line! Our rehearsal dinner was held in the Library, which is a smaller room, and everything was seamless! The reception was held in the rooftop ballroom, and it was the best night of our lives! I think it's easily the best reception venue in Kansas City. We ended up doing many of our pictures our on the balcony and in the lobby of the building, and I can't wait to see how they turn out with such a beautiful backdrop! The planning process was slightly disorganized at times since we worked with several different coordinators, but overall everything went smoothly and the actual events could not have been handled with more professionalism! Syl was constantly checking on my husband and I to make sure that we and our guests had everything we needed, and she worked with our vendors to make the room look absolutely beautiful! We both were very relaxed knowing that everything was in Syl's hands, and she made us feel like there was no question or request too small or too big for her to handle. Karee Hackel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2016 When looking for a wedding venue, I was looking for a space that could accommodate my ceremony and reception, felt contemporary but incorporated traditional details, and would give my guests a truly unique experience. The Brass on Baltimore was everything that I wanted â and MORE. We had our wedding at the Brass on Baltimore on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Our ceremony was hosted in the Grand Lobby, and we moved up to the Rooftop following. Both spaces are breathtakingly beautiful. The Grand Lobby features historical charm mixed with contemporary elements, and the Rooftop â wow, there are just no words. This space gives you the most insane view of Kansas City. Our guests loved the outdoor fire pits and could not stop taking photos of the scenery. This is slightly embarrassing, but I cried (I'm a crier, especially when it comes to anything wedding-related...) the first time I saw the space because I was so impressed. Deb handled my pre-wedding tears like a champ and told me that is the exact reaction she hopes brides have when they come into the venue. She was wonderful to work with during the initial planning steps, but Meredith Coleman was the superstar of our wedding. She is on-the-ball, professional, and poised. She is well connected in the KC wedding industry and had an almost-immediate solution to any problem we faced. We got married in the Grand Lobby and had our reception on the rooftop. It was beautiful and Meredith and her staff were phenomenal! The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because of all of the rules they have. No guest is allowed to touch glass after the wedding (if they have been drinking), which caused a lot of issues with my floral arrangements. We wanted to give our flowers to family members and friends so we had to change all of our flower arrangements to not include glass. It doesn't really make sense because all alcohol is served in actual glasses. Another issue is they require all vendors to sign an independent contract policy. I was told all pre approved vendors had no problem signing the document. That was definitely not the case. Two of out the five vendors had never heard of this and one refused to sign it. She even got her attorney involved. If you can play by their rules this is a beautiful, elegant venue. From the very first meeting with them, they were beyond professional and helpful. Besides the uniqueness and beauty of the venue, Deb was one of the main reasons I decided on The Brass on Baltimore. We looked at about 18 venues in downtown Kansas City and she was more professional and knowledgeable than any other venue manager or staff member I met. This is so important when you're looking at venues because you will be working with these people very closely through the planning process and they will be a huge part of your wedding day. Deb never made me feel bad for asking questions or asking for anything. She was always prompt in her communication and went completely above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect. She came through with everything she promised us. I didnât worry about one thing regarding the venue on the day of our wedding because I knew they had everything taken care of and I completely trusted them. In addition, they didnât nickel and dime us. They were completely reasonable. Our ceremony was in the lobby, which was GORGEOUS! We had minimal flowers because the room was naturally so beautiful. I love the pictures from our ceremony. It looks like weâre in a beautiful old church. Our reception was in the rooftop room, which is spectacular with some of the best views of Kansas City. I loved the open windows and terrace. It made for such an elegant and glamourous feel. I didnât want to leave at the end of the night! I wouldâve lived there if I could ï Our guests said the staff and bartenders were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate all the requests. Abby Klein(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-04-2016 We had our wedding here on 4/30/16 - ceremony in the Grand Lobby with the reception to follow on the rooftop. It is a beautiful venue and it turned out to be the most perfect day/night so we were able to keep all of the doors open on the rooftop and guests really enjoyed the gorgeous view of the city and being able to hang out on the terrace area. If you are considering Brass as your wedding venue, I recommend that you use vendors from their preferred vendor list for a couple of reasons. First, the logistics of the rooftop are fairly complicated and you will want vendors that have experience up there, especially your caterer and band/DJ. Second, and this is the only reason they received 4/5 stars, they were not as friendly with my vendors that they had not worked with before and at times were slightly difficult to work with overall. We would not change a thing though, because we felt like our wedding turned out absolutely perfect and all of the staff at Brass made sure of it! The building manager, Deb, was even there most of the night making sure everything ran smoothly which I did not expect but thought was so nice! I definitely recommend this venue for the modern bride looking for a real \"downtown Kansas City\" experience. You will not regret it and your picture will turn out FABULOUS! Reviewed on 01-06-2016
Lisa Magnetta(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-04-2016 We LOVED this venue for our April 16 2016 wedding. I would recommend 10 times the five stars. The amazing architecture of the Presidents Room made us fall in love, and working with the experienced and knowledgable staff made our day that much easier. The venue will provide a catering list to go off of, and if you use a new a caterer it's a fee. DO NOT let that scare you away from having your reception here. Everyone that works at Brass on Baltimore knows what they are doing and make your day so great! Our guests were and still are raving about the food we had at our wedding and that is thanks to the expertise of picking a good caterer on Brass on Baltimores part. They had everything organized for us and made our day SO special and smooth. Thank you Brass on Baltimore!! Reviewed on 22-04-2016
Michelle Majerle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-01-2016 We had a winter wedding at the Brass on Baltimore and we had booked it before construction was even complete and it lived up to our expectations and more! The ceremony was in the lobby which gave a classic feel and then the reception was on the new top floor/rooftop space with a very modern feel. Deb was great to work with! The space was beautiful and the service was fabulous. Even though the wedding was in January, we still enjoyed the rooftop balcony with fires and heaters - it was perfect to cool off after so much dancing! We had about 210 guests and it was just big enough (so I would not book the rooftop if you have any more than that!)\r\rI am so so so happy we got marred at the BoB. It was the best party ever! Jennifer Nickloy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2015 We choose this venue for many reasons. We love KC and the thought of a downtown wedding was a must. We also wanted a venue that could host a wedding and a reception without having to kick our guests out while the room is flipped. Brass On Baltimore, formerly the Baltimore Club, provided us with everything we could ever ask for and more. The venue itself is amazing versatile and can fit any bride's style. We wanted a classic and traditional ceremony followed by a modern cliche reception and Danielle and Deb definitely helped us pull it off! They were wonderful to work with, provided us with vendor recommendations, and accommodated our every need. I would definitely recommend them! Reviewed on 19-11-2015

Danielle and Deb from Baltimore were so helpful all the way through. I didn't want anyone to be worrying about details day of and we didn't have to, they worked with our other vendors, had everything scheduled and our day was very low stress. Totally recommend! Beth Mettlach(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-10-2015 Since my wedding, I have consistently had people come up to me and tell me I had the best wedding reception they had ever attended. The combination of the 15th floor in downtown KC, along with the outdoor patio, the indoor modern space, and all the details in between made it unforgettable. I know a lot of brides probably say this, but my wedding is my absolutely favorite wedding I've ever been to. Danielle at the Brass on Baltimore was ALWAYS a source of calm, cool, and collected when I started to become an anxious bride. They made sure to have my favorite drink waiting for me at the reception, and kept it coming all night long. It was a night that was full of amazing photo ops and memories, and I knew others felt special being there. I HIGHLY recommend the Brass on Baltimore for a reception that is sure to be managed by professionals, and be remembered by everyone. Reviewed on 03-11-2015
Linda Schellpeper(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2015 Most everyone we talked to who attended our reception said it was an amazing venue, better than any they had ever been to. The rooftop space has the most amazing terrace that is just as big as the attached indoor space, complete with outdoor seating and firepits. We booked the rooftop while it was still under construction, but we were able to come check it out multiple times while it was being built. Before we even booked the venue and throughout our planning, Deb was really great at giving us suggestions of other vendors to work with and helping us make decisions on what to choose. She was always quick to respond to our emails, and seemed very experienced and professional with wedding planning. She already knew many of our vendors by name before we even picked them. She worked with all of our vendors to coordinate the day of setup, which was great to not have to worry about. We had a cocktail hour in the lobby, which had a great contrast with the modern rooftop space. We got some stunning sunset photos from the rooftop. It doesnât get much more awesome than dancing on the terrace of the rooftop over-looking downtown Kansas City on your wedding day. There truly is no other venue in Kansas City that compares to this.\r Reviewed on 07-09-2015
Ryann Bauer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-05-2015 We started planning our May 16, 2015 wedding 1 year in advance and did our research on Venue's before going to look at any in person. Nate and I fell in love with the Baltimore Club after viewing it online, we scheduled our appointment with Sara to take a look at it in person, and after viewing only two venues for our wedding and reception we knew The Baltimore Club was the perfect Venue for us. \r\rWe had our ceremony and reception in the newly renovated Tudor Room. It had everything we were looking for, the Old Kansas City feel, the beautiful details of the room, the space for our large guest count, and convince for our out of town guest. We booked immediately and started to plan our special day!\r\rSara Storm was our contact throughout the year as we planned, Sara was absolutely AMAZING! She was always quick to respond and answered all of our questions and payed attention to every little detail. She was there the weekend of the wedding to help us with the layout of the room and help coordinate with our Day of Coordinator for who needed to be where and when! She truly was a joy to work with and became more like a friend to us by the time it was all said and done!\r\rWe also liked that we were not responsible for bringing in the beverages for the reception, they had everything on site for us and we never had to worry about it. Some places you are able to bring in your own and that is great! However, if you happen to run out you can not go get more! With the size of our guest list and knowing how much our wedding guest would indulge, this was extremely important to us! We were also able to choose from two different catering companies that are contracted out by the Baltimore Club. This made our decision easy and saved us so much time as we didn't have to sift through 100 different companies and then decide who to even schedule tastings with. Once the catering company was decided, The Baltimore Club took it from there, it took a lot of detail and coordination off of our plates!\r\rThe evening of our wedding could not have gone any better than it did, our guest are still raving about the beautiful venue, the helpful/kind staff, and of course the party! Nate and I would highly recommend the Breathtaking Baltimore Club to anyone considering it for their Wedding Reception and Ceremony. You will truly enjoy the experience and professionalism of planning your special day along side Sara, Deb, and their team at The Baltimore Club. We can not thank them enough for everything they did for us and could not be more happy with the way our wedding turned out. They had the room set up beautifully for us exactly how we wanted it. They also took care of all of our vendors so we didn't have to worry about a thing that day. Deb and Danielle were both very easy to get in contact with and always responded quickly whenever I had a question or needed help with anything! Brittney Swift(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-04-2016 Okay brides, before you read this I must say I have NOT chosen the Baltimore Club for sure as my venue (yet), but I just have to say that Deb is amazing! Not only has she been nice but she has seriously and i mean seriously worked with me on my budget. She has offered numerous suggestions on how to cut costs with floral, cake, and has even spoken with caterers personally for me to make sure they can fit my budget. I have worked with a lot of venues in the KC area so far (Grand Street, Marriott, random event spaces-you name it) and NONE come close to Deb. I just want to say that if you think this place is too expensive talk to Deb-she can work with you and help you have the wedding of your dreams. She checks on me regularly and is NOT pushy or annoying-the kind of salesperson we all want to work with informative and just all around AWESOME! Really really consider the Baltimore Club if you want EXCELLENT service and an absolutely stunning venue. Reviewed on 14-01-2015
