Lyvonda Tart Thomas(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2022 Please do not pass by the Hyatt Regency Old Greenwich as the place to celebrate your wedding. I initially selected the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich because of the location between my family and my husband’s family. Then, I saw the gluten free options on the event menus. Once I met Jenna and Aisha, I knew the Hyatt Regency was the venue to celebrate my wedding. Jenna was an amazing person to work with during the planning of our wedding. Jenna listened to our vision for our wedding event. She was able to capture the personality of my husband and myself and guide us with details for the wedding. In addition, she worked with the food service team to ensure that there were several gluten-free free options for me and my guests to enjoy for the cocktail hour and meal. The day of our wedding was more beautiful than we imaged it would be. There was not a thing out of place; every detail was thought of and put into place. Kozmo, Hospitality/Food Services Manager, met with me the morning of the wedding to ensure everything was in place and to my liking. Amy was our wedding coordinator for the date of the event. She seamlessly continued where Jenna had left off. The wait staff were kind, courteous, very attentive and efficient. The food! Oh, my goodness! I’m salivating just thinking about the food. The food was well prepared, well presented and very delicious. We got married October 2022 and our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was. I will not hesitate to have another event at the Hyatt Regency Old Greenwich. I am constantly encouraging brides-to-be to have their event at the Hyatt Regency for a stress-free day. And their wedding would be everything they imaged and more. Thank you, Jenna, Amy, Kozmo and the entire hospitality team at the Hyatt Regency Old Greenwich for the amazing work you do! My wife and I had an excellent experience with Hyatt Regency Old Greenwich. From the time we were shopping around to the wedding day, coordinating with vendors, helping us iron out the finer details - Jenna and the team were on top of it all. In particular, I was very impressed with the customized menu options they were able to put together for us given we wanted certain ethnic items on the menu. When we had a bunch of guests stream in earlier than expected, the team worked with us to get their stay situated even though they were at full capacity for the Labor Day weekend. At every step, each person was super helpful and kind. We loved our wedding reception and this team enabled that. Reviewed on 30-11-2023

We planned our wedding cross country for June 2023 in under 5 months and the Hyatt took care of many of the details that we did not have time nor interest in figuring out. Jenna, the wedding coordinator at the Hyatt, was fantastic, timely, detail oriented, and patient. The wait staff during the reception was attentive and professional. We were initially concerned that the chef would not be able to accommodate our needs and vision, an all vegetarian with a mix of Indian + American cuisines. HOWEVER, we were floored at the tasting and the menu was one of the biggest compliments from guests. The Hyatt provided two getting ready rooms the day of the wedding with complimentary champagne. These rooms were available all day for us and we used it during cocktail hour to decompress and eat some food. The Hyatt also provided a staging room next to the ballroom where we put all our personal items (cutting knife, table numbers, games for kids, favors, etc) that the staff set up at the appropriate times. This room was helpful the night before as we assembled some of the favors in the room. The convenience of staying in the same place as the reception cannot be understated. It was helpful for our youngest and oldest guests. Day of we decided to do some of our portraits with various family members inside the Hyatt's Atrium, as it was getting too hot outside. The photos turned out lovely and the temperature control was clutch. We also had a delicious brunch at the Hyatt the next day for the guests which was pricey but we paid for the convivence. We would recommend Hyatt for anyone who wants delicious food and to limit logistics. Our Coordinator Jenna, was able to help us get everything done in less than 6 months. The event staff is so helpful and friendly, everything you need is well taken care of, and they make sure to keep you updated on every part of the process. The scenery in the lobby is just overwhelmingly gorgeous. My guests all said how perfectly pretty it was, and how they were amazed by the indoor atrium. The food was an absolute grand slam, weeks later and people are still telling me how great it was, we definitely didn’t want the stigma of “bad wedding food” and the Hyatt’s catering really left an impression on all of our guests! One of the staff Ivan, was just a pleasure. He was helpful during the taste testing and wedding night. Ivan made sure to take care of my husband and I and he was just a delight. Ms. Mary our bartender was the sweetest and made sure that everyone was well taken care of during the entire reception and after party. I really must give the biggest show of appreciation to Jenna as she helped smooth this entire event out, she truly was readily available and present for any and every type of question I had! She was great, friendly, and just a pleasure to have as a coordinator. When our After Party was over and we headed back to our room, we found a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and some chocolate covered strawberries which was so lovely of the Hyatt to include! My husband and I were both so pleased by the gesture. The only down point I have is that while the Event Staff was beyond spectacular, some of the front desk staff could have been a little more friendly. Some of my guests did have issues with slight rudeness or not such great customer service from the front desk.I stayed over the night before the wedding without my husband, and in the morning I did ask the front desk to have the room turned over so that when my husband and I came back to the hotel together the room would be done, but the room was never turned over and my husband was a little upset about that as there were no clean towels for us to shower with after a night of dancing, etc… But I wouldn’t let this be a deterrent though as sometimes things get forgotten, but I do feel as “Guests of Honor” that is something that should have been accommodated. I’m not one to complain about the small things but it’s definitely worth a mention. Overall we had an a fantastic wedding, at a wonderful venue and we are so grateful to have had our reception in such a beautiful location. Reviewed on 01-02-2022

Camila Reis(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-06-2021 My wedding ceremony & reception were held in their SunCourt room, a tented space that they put up in the Summer. It’s all white, so essentially a blank canvas to create your perfect venue look. It was a little less impressive than I imagined, as I booked based on photos before it was put up for the Summer. Either way, at night with lighting it looked nice. I worked with Jenna and she was very sweet, kind, and answered all of my questions quickly. Our cocktail hour and main photos were done in their Atrium, which is such a unique space and the guests loved it. It was nice to feel like we were outdoors, only with AC instead of hot humid air. Some things that really disappointed me, however, was the fact that their brochure is misleading in terms of receiving Hyatt points. While the brochure clearly states an amount of points earned based on total spend, I was told later it wasn’t really based on total spend. Also, we were told that we could only receive points at the time of booking, which was never explained to us prior to or at booking, nor was it stated anywhere on their brochure. All in all, we never got the points we thought we would. Their billing system is confusing/odd as well, they charge service on all fees and then tax on everything including service - they messed up our bill a couple of times. Next, you don’t really get a wedding coordinator with them, and while Jenna helped out as much as possible, we were constantly reminded of what their staff would not do. If you book them you will need to hire a wedding planner separately to decorate, coordinate the day, and to give you peace of mind. Also, the hotel staff in general (front desk) is unhelpful and had the delivery people call me instead of just directing them to the Suncourt. My mom and bridesmaids had to pause their makeup/hair to direct the deliveries. I was also really sad that they said no to our petal throw at our ceremony exit, which had been previously discussed and agreed to, but then not allowed last minute on the day of the wedding (the petals and cones I purchased ended up not being used). Our exit photos were ruined and our guests were very confused when our ceremony ended. I would advise against having both ceremony and reception in their SunCourt because they only have an hour to flip the space, and so many of our requests couldn’t be done due to “timing”. Also, some of the menu agreements were not fully met (ie. No bread / crostini with our cheese station, only Ritz crackers), and by the time I went to get food at the cocktail hour the stations were messy and hadn't been replenished. I had hoped that the hors d'oeuvres would have been passed around, but they just put the food out buffet style. Lastly, the carpet in our dressing room was dirty and shedding horribly and it got all over my dress throughout the day as I walked, which turned into a nightmare for my bridesmaids as they constantly had to be cleaning my dress with a lint roller. Considering the price point, we felt that the Hyatt should have been better, but overall, pretty good. The hotel is a cool and unique space, and they give you a suite with some gifts (even a small one from your registry) at the end of the night, which was really thoughtful. It was an easy booking and planning process with them too so it worked for us since we had to change venues last minute due to Covid. The food was good and the bartender and serving staff were all very nice too. Reviewed on 15-07-2021

We had many out of town guests stay in the hotel (we had a room block), and they enjoyed their stay and breakfast the next day. On the morning of the wedding, we got ready in the Fairfield suite- which offered plenty of room for my bridesmaids and me to get our hair and makeup done. We initially signed our contract with one employee who left during our planning process- which was a little frustrating because we were not informed that she left. She had promised us a few things that were not able to materialize after all. After that, we worked with Jen Milano, who was wonderful. Jen was also there from before our ceremony, through the reception to make sure everything ran smoothly. There were a few bumps along the way, as with any event. Our cocktail & reception locations were mislabeled, the vendor's meals were delayed (which my photographer brought to my attention, but Jen was there to straighten it out), and our complimentary champagne and strawberries went to my parent's room (which was actually kind of funny). Initially, I was scared away by the price per person but we so easily were able to cut down some of the extras to get the price we wanted without feeling like we had to scrimp on anything. I had a great time working with Pamela Bower the catering coordinator. She was kind, accessible, open to any ideas I presented, and made sure we had all the help we needed. She walked me through every detail and was there at our tasting at for the day of the even just a phone call away. I would have another event there just to work with her again so she is a great asset to their venue. We had our event in the Sun court tented room which is a great size for the 160 guests we had and was really flexible on layout and design since it is such a blank canvas. The cocktail hour was in the lobby atrium which was a little small but such a cool space! Guests were so impressed with the setting and liked the ease of having the event all in one place. The food was great, I got tons of compliments from guests, as well as the waitstaff and bartenders who were top notch. The staff at the hotel even went as far as to babysit my mother's dog during the reception when they heard it barking in the hotel room upstairs. The event itself was seamless. I found everything I asked for was done so I didn't need to worry about a thing other then having fun. They really have a great event team so I applaud them for that. \r\rOne major issue I had was that my room key, as well as many guests kept demagnitizing so we were constantly trapped out of our rooms and going to reception to get new keys. I missed good chunks of our reception locked out of my room in my wedding dress because the keys wouldn't work. It wasn't until checkout that they informed us that we needed to keep the cards away from our cell phones. That would've been good to know one of the 8 times I got locked out! I also found the woman in charge of booking guest rooms within our guest block to be very unhelpful when answering questions. It was great to have guests stay at the same place as the event and for a great room price but she was not a joy to deal with. The hotel itself was the issue, not the event staff. Overall I had a great experience and would use them again. I couldn't recommend Pamela Bower enough so work with her if you can!\r\r Reviewed on 21-01-2015
Jenifer Drummond(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-03-2014 We had a lot of out of town guests for our wedding so it was important for us to have the reception at a place that guests can also stay. Everyone had a great time and appreciated the excellent rate for the room block. It rained on our wedding day, but our photos came perfectly because the atrium is so luscious. Our event coordinator was awesome and took a lot of stress off of us. They Hyatt can take care of so many details when it comes to hosting the wedding that it takes a lot of stress off. The maître d' arranged for our meals to be brought to our room so we could eat after the wedding and could enjoy more time with our guests. And the chef is very talented, so everyone enjoyed their gourmet meals and our customized menu.\r\rEvery event has some snafoos. Ours were the following: \r1. Not all of our give bags were delivered. We gave the front desk the exact amount and there were somehow 4 leftover at the end of the night. \r2. My husband's things did not make it from the room he and the g'men got ready in to our honeymoon suite at the end of the night. We had to sort it out and ended up having to get the things ourselves at 1:30am. \r3. I'm lukewarm about the person who coordinated the room blocks. I felt like I had to stay on top of it more than I should have. \r\rThat being said, please know that The Hyatt did try to make everything right the following morning and we have absolutely NO REGRETS. I would have chosen them 100 times over again.\r\rPLUS strongly consider the Hyatt credit card. The rewards program payed for a majority of our honeymoon :-) Reviewed on 19-05-2014
Kristin Gilman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2013 Our reception was at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich - they made our wedding perfect! It was everything I was expecting plus a lot more. I didn't have to worry about any detail, as it was all covered. I would recommend this gorgeous venue to anyone. Everything was included, and it was so great to have guests stay at such a beautiful hotel. Reviewed on 19-09-2013
Amy Lucas(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-11-2012 We had a great wedding at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. The atmosphere of their Gazebo bar gives a perfect outdoor feeling espeacially for a Thanksgiving weekend wedding. We had some minor last minute details that were missing but they compensated us for it in the end. Our guests had no idea about these missing details but as bride and groom we knew and were upset about them when we looked back on the evening. Overall, great night, guests had a wonderful time! Sandra Christie(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-05-2011 We used the Hyatt for our guests to stay and all I can say is thank god we did not have the wedding here. We booked 16 rooms and breakfast. There was not one single thing the Hyatt did not make a mess of. They were a huge headache. Of all the vendors I dealt with for the wedding, the Greenwich Hyatt was by far the biggest problem. And ultimately they were an enormous embarrassment. We found ourselves apologizing to our friends who stayed there for the endless problems and confusions. \r\rMost of our guests had problems with their reservations once they got there even though they had long since been booked under our party. \r\rThe gift bags I had given to the hotel (and paid $4 a room to have them delivered) were either not delivered at all or delivered to the wrong rooms. And some that were delivered had items from someone else's wedding thrown into our bags. At 1:00 in the morning the night of my wedding I'm at the reception desk in my wedding dress trying to still track down why several guests didn't get their gift bags with the vouchers for our breakfast the next morning.\r\rWe booked a shuttle from the Hyatt to pick up and drop off our guests from the wedding. They could not keep the time straight as to when to pick up or drop off. (And we paid $300 for this and it was also booked months in advance).\r\rBreakfast was being provided by us for our guests the Sunday morning after the wedding (also booked far in advance). Vouchers had been put in their bags (many of which they never got because of the problems with the delivery of the bags) Some guests were then getting charges on their bill for the breakfast and in some cases for the shuttle as well. I started getting phone calls about the billing problems first thing the morning after the wedding.\r\rAll in all they were the worst. While on our honeymoon we were still getting messages of billing problems. Several guests are also writing letters of complaints on their own. \r\rThe sad thing is the staff on the floor at the Hyatt really does try to help and was very nice, but the management and organization is clearly so broken down they just can’t keep anything straight.\r\rBottom line is unless you want to be hugely embarrassed in front of your guests, spend the night of and morning after your wedding trouble shooting...Stay away.\r\rUpdate: The Hyatt has since contacted us with an apology and an attempt to make a better impression. While that that is very nice and the right thing to do our wedding was a one shot deal. Sadly we can't get a re-do on the event. Reviewed on 31-05-2011
Manoucheka Degraff(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-11-2010 I can hardly descride how much of a blessing it was to have my wedding at the Hyatt. Starting withthe event coordinator to the bell guy. I really felt like a princess. The food is amazing and the indoor garden speaks for itself. My family had a blast and really enjoyed the accomodation they received. Anyone who's interested in having their wedding their should ask for Melissa Loukresis to be their event coordinator. She is amazing and pays attention to every detail. Reviewed on 10-01-2011
Nicole Holter(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2010 I would not change anything about our experience with the Hyatt. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were so accommodating. I did not want to eat a great deal of food at the reception because I did not feel that I would be comfortable in my dress. I asked the maitre'd to save my dinner. After the reception, he brought us up to our huge, beautiful and complimentary honeymoon suite. In there, we found chocolate covered strawberries & champagne from the hotel. He had saved a plate of food for my new husband and myself in addition to another piece of our wedding cake. The only thing to be cautious with is the number of guests you sign a contract for. Once you establish that number, they are not hugely flexible in changing it. Reviewed on 16-11-2010
