Rose Rutherford(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2022 We did our welcome dinner and wedding with the Hyatt.Samantha, the recreation manager for the Hyatt, was very responsive and attentive to our vision for the welcome dinner. We did a casual bonfire at the beach across PCH. The Hyatt staff set up the fire pits, chairs, blankets, pizza, s'mores, and hot chocolate. They were also willing to set up the cupcakes and beach games we brought. It was excellent and gave all our guests that arrived early a chance to hang out and catch up and meet new people before the wedding. It was also my mom's birthday on the day of the welcome dinner, so we were all able to celebrate that as well. For the wedding, it ran very smoothly and was very stress free (exactly what you want on your wedding day). We got married in the California Courtyard overlooking the ocean and it was perfect. The cocktail hour and reception hall were right next to the courtyard on the Vista Terrace and in the Vista Ballroom, making it a quick and easy transition. Brittany, our event manager, was great on checking in with us the whole day and Hyatt staff were on top of everything. And the food and drinks were excellent! Brittany even set up our honeymoon suite with goodies and a picture of us in our wedding attire in a frame! So sweet. Thank you! Reviewed on 08-01-2023
Ashley Whalen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-04-2022 My husband and I had the greatest pleasure of having our wedding at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, CA on April 23rd, 2022. We were a \"covid wedding\" and had to postpone from our original date & venue. As much as covid was terrible in causing us to postpone, we truly believe it was a blessing in disguise! I know a lot of people will say that their wedding day was the most perfect day, but ours truly was and we owe that to our amazing vendors and the staff at the Hyatt. I worked with Brittany on a lot of things and she was more helpful than I could have imagined. I am definitely a perfectionist, so naturally, I had a lot of questions and requests. Brittany helped ease my anxiety, answered all of my questions and made sure that everything was taken care of. The sweetest part was that I was nervous to come back to a messy suite after my girls and I got ready the morning of the wedding, but the room was cleaned and Brittany left a lovely card, sweets, champagne and a picture of me and my husband from earlier that day! It was such a nice touch for us to come back to after a long day of celebrating! I received so many compliments about the food and beverages at the Hyatt on our wedding day and I couldn't agree more. Everything was absolutely amazing and I will cherish that day and the whole planning process forever. Brittany and the Hyatt staff really made everything so easy and went above and beyond my expectations. If you're considering having a wedding, or any event, at the Hyatt, I couldn't recommend them more. With so much love, a very happy bride/newlywed :) <3 Reviewed on 07-05-2022

Nina Del Mundo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2019 We had our wedding here August 2019 and working with Mark and the Hyatt team was amazing! The whole day ran smoothly and all the meetings leading up to the big day were fun and easy. Mark was very responsive to all my emails, our guests LOVED the food for the dinner/cocktail hour, and the venue itself is beautiful! They just redid the carpets and curtains in the ballrooms/hotel too. What I also loved is they treated my husband and I and our families like VIP guests all weekend (upgraded parents' rooms, complimentary gifts/meals etc.). Sabrina K(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-07-2019 We met with the catering sales manager, Cheryl, to tour and review options at this hotel. It was clear that she had already decided we would have a lower budget based on our stating that we would be flexible in time of year or day of the weekend. We never shared our budget with her other than stating that we were flexible. She only planned on showing me two ballrooms that were \"a good fit,\" but when we saw the Vista Ballroom, it was our favorite. She told us to only consider it for Sundays because of the minimums on Saturday, assuming we couldn't afford it based on having no information about us. Then we asked for a high proposal (one with all the bells and whistles on a Saturday night in the Vista Ballroom) and a low proposal (a Sunday brunch), thinking we would land somewhere in the middle. She came back with proposals in a DIFFERENT BALLROOM and low-balled the additional costs and number of people we said we wanted (only 1 hour open bar, etc., only 75 people when we had said 100). When I asked her if there was a reason she didn't make the proposal for the Vista Ballroom Saturday night, she stated, \"Well there's a minimum. What else do you want to buy?\" We asked for a list of add-ons since the minimum that she thought would be out of our price range is actually mid-low budget for us. She was also very condescending when we were asking about room blocks for our guests and left out key information that would have been helpful to know. We could not get a straight answer out of her what things would cost, so we stopped asking questions and politely ended the visit. The resort itself is beautiful, but we cannot imagine having to try to work with Cheryl again. Reviewed on 23-09-2018

Where do I begin! Courtney Braz-Bishop (Event Sales Manager) is one of the main reasons why my couple's wedding on 6/23 was such a success and ran so smoothly. I have been in the wedding and events industry for almost 10 years now and I have never adored a venue Sales Manager as much as I adore Courtney. She is so unbelievably sweet, professional, knowledgeable, organized and just on top of everything. We would receive an updated GDR just shortly after an email with changes was sent. Her communication skills are impeccable. Courtney always kept our couple and I in the loop on everything. If a request was out of her hands, she was great at keeping us updated on the status until she got an answer for us. Courtney made my job SO easy and it was truly a pleasure working with her. Vanessa, Courtney's assistant is also amazing - she was super helpful during the week Courtney was out of the office.Come rehearsal and the day of the wedding. Courtney was there to ensure rehearsal ran smoothly. We also got to load in early since we had to carpet so thank you for that! By 8pm the evening before the wedding, the house men were already on it making sure cocktail and Vista Foyer were ready to go which was much appreciated. Your team also began setting up early on Saturday, the day of the wedding which allowed me and my team to set up early as well, also very much appreciated! My team accidentally broke one of the couple’s sand ceremony vases but Courtney and Alex came to the rescue with identical vases! Courtney and Alex were also available all day and always checked in to see if we needed anything. Courtney also went out of her way to make sure our bride’s mom was attended to. The entire team was professional and always eager to help. Jorge, our captain was great in executing our timeline. He always checked in to make sure we were ready to go for the next main event. Vanessa who was also our server during the tasting was extremely helpful as well. The bartender that worked at the bar outside had great attention to detail. She kept the sign-in table by her bar tidy during downtime as guests were leaving glassware and food on the table. All in all, I could not have had a better experience. Hyatt HB truly has some gems that make the Hyatt brand look REALLY good. :) Courtney especially is a huge asset. Thank you for everything!!! As a planner, I cannot express how important it is to host your wedding and event at a venue where true professionals who genuinely care are handling your day as it really makes a big difference. Amanda Ketzenberger(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-09-2013 This hotel captured us when the Internet said they do beach front weddings so we booked and drove 4.5 hours to meet with the catering manager. They have a beautiful bridge that goes from their property to the beach. The catering manager doesn't embrace weddings on the beach and didn't remember meeting with us from Saturday to Monday. In fact she said she \"speaks with hundreds of people a day and can't possibly remember everyone\". We drove out and stayed there a second time because we were SO in love with the property and she gave us the same cold shoulder greeting. Clearly this lady wasn't accommodating and didn't want our money so we went across the street to the Waterfront Beach Resort and had the most gorgeous beach wedding you could imagine! The spa is wonderful and the restaurants and food are great. \r\rHowever, the service was less than adequate to poor and I was very disappointed with our catering manager. The hotel gave my guests who had booked queen rooms a king because they were sold out even though they had their reservations for 5 months. My frustration was the staff's lack of detail which you don't want in wedding planning. The catering staff misspelled my name in multiple communications even after I had corrected them. It appeared they just didn't seem to care much since I was only spending $15K.\r\rThe day of event was wonderful and looking back I probably wouldn't change a thing but our thought was the hotel really isn't as high end as they'd like you to think or pay for. It looked beautiful.;We chose to do a cocktail party style reception istead of a sit down dinner. Because we chose an alternative style I had many questions for the catering manager. I wanted to see photos of their setup of past events etc. I was also very concerned about having an adequate amount of food. I wanted it to be very filling since we had chosen somehthing unexpected. The catering manager after being asked several times finally produced two pictures of a previous lunch buffet. (We were not doing lunch nor a buffet) Which was really no help. There was no tasting provided or any kind of portfolio to look through. By the time we returned from taking pictures the majority of the food that we were assured was more than enough was almost gone and we had to track her down and get them to rush out more food.
