Rebecca Ferguson(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-10-2021 Full disclosure, we did not have our wedding at this hotel. It was down the street at Seven Bridges Golf Course, and we selected the Hyatt based on its proximity to our venue. They were grossly understaffed (I realize this is a problem a lot of places right now, and I tried to be understanding) but beyond that, I felt like no one cared about our guests - or us. Despite booking a suite for both Friday AND Saturday night, months before our date, I received a call on Friday at 5PM informing me that there was not a room available for me. They offered a standard room, which would not have worked given that I had 8 people arriving for hair and makeup on Saturday morning. They eventually offered an upgrade to a Presidential Suite, but only after I refused the initial offer. They had SIX weddings the weekend of our wedding. Rooms weren't ready when people tried to check-in, the A/C was not working all afternoon Saturday, and probably most concerning was that one of our shuttles - slated to pick guests up at 4:30PM for a 5PM ceremony a few miles away - DID NOT SHOW UP. Many of our guests had to scramble and drive to the venue, causing our ceremony to be delayed. I understand that things happen, but I just did not feel like anyone cared, and it was terribly frustrating. In reading some Trip Advisor reviews, none of these incidents appear to be isolated to our wedding weekend - including the shuttle and A/C problems. If you can find another partner hotel, you should . Reviewed on 12-10-2021
Kelley Marsh(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2019 The Hyatt Regency Lisle was absolutely perfect for our New Year's Eve Wedding! Throughout the planning process we actually worked with three different venue coordinators, while this wasn't ideal, we still had a very positive experience. Lisa Swinehart took over as our contact about a month prior to our wedding and helped ensure a very smooth transition by working with our Day of Coordinator. Kasey Albert the Catering Manager was also incredible! She went above and beyond the days leading up to the wedding helping us get set up and making sure that we had everything we needed! Our ceremony was in the Linden Pavillon and reception was in the ballroom. Both venues worked out wonderfully! The food was great and the complimentary room for brunch was fantastic. It was her professionalism and years of experience that created a seamless event for bride and groom. There wasn’t an aspect of planning that Maureen didn’t have a vendor, creative idea or answer for a problem. Food was outstanding, timely and beautifully presented. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t change a moment. I highly recommend Maureen O’Connor and the Hyatt Regency. Reviewed on 25-11-2019
Allie Morales(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2019 Our wedding experience started about 1 year prior to the Big Day. Our first wedding coordinator was very experienced, organized, and helped us get a good deal on our wedding package. We decided to do everything at the hotel including rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. We also had a room block for our guests; our wedding package included complimentary rooms for us and our respective parents. On top of that, the hotel had complimentary breakfast that was top notch! About halfway through, our first wedding coordinator left the hotel and we were assigned a new coordinator a few weeks later. It was a bit of a rocky start. There was some miscommunication and delayed responses. Also, the accountant went on maternity leave (?) a few months later, so it was strange having to remind the hotel to collect my deposits. The month leading up to the wedding, the catering manager (Maureen) and her staff really came through for us. They were flexible about what we needed and gracefully carried out our special requests, including allowing us to use their shuttles to take us to and from the Morton Arboretum to take pictures. Everything was taken care of and it ended up being a worry-free experience. Although it may not have been in her job description, Maureen even helped out with coordinating the ceremony (saved me the trouble of asking someone else). Also, kudos to the rest of the Hyatt staff for taking care of us and our 230 guests. Due to inclement weather, many of our guests' flights were delayed or cancelled. Some arrived well after dinner, but the catering staff was kind enough to save their meal and warm it up for them when they arrived. We recommend getting the tater tot/nacho bar as a late night snack; it was a big winner! Reviewed on 16-10-2019

Jenna Hill(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2017 First, the good. We booked our wedding hotel block with Hyatt Regency Lisle because we liked the layout of the hotel and they offered free shuttle rides to our wedding at the Morton Arboretum. It was easy to book the block and we liked that if we had enough people reserve a room in our block we would receive one free night in a panoramic suite. The block was easy to manage using their online application which keeps track of who has booked rooms and for which nights. On the wedding night the accommodations were excellent and the large open bar area in the lobby was very nice for our guests who wanted to continue the party late into the night. Also, we had welcome bags for our guests and the Hyatt made it easy to drop those off before the wedding and our guests did receive them as promised. Now, the bad. Working with the Hyatt was often difficult because the staff members we met with or spoke to were always replaced with someone new each time we contacted the hotel. Staff turnover seems to be extremely high there. This made it difficult to conduct business with them because the contact person we had for various tasks had always changed when we wanted to email or call them a second time. So all communications were duplicates - the first had either no response or a response that the person no longer worked there. The second (third, fourth, etc.) was finding out the new person you needed and finally taking care of whatever you wanted to do. Obviously this got very old very quickly, and it may also explain most of the other difficulties we encountered at the Hyatt. Our wedding was at the Morton Arboretum which is close enough to qualify for their free shuttle service, in addition to the guaranteed rides that come with the block. We set up our scheduled shuttle rides a few weeks before the wedding and were informed clearly our guests could call for a ride at any time to get to and from the wedding and wouldn’t need to wait for the scheduled rides. Unfortunately this turned out to not actually be true as the guests who tried to call for a ride were simply told “no, we’re too busy” and were left at the wedding to wait for the next scheduled shuttle. It seems, after consulting with a shuttle driver, that there were 5 separate weddings booked at the Hyatt that night and whoever arranged the shuttle schedules was disastrously incompetent, resulting in a chaotic night for all the drivers. It was disappointing that a service promised to us was not actually provided. That is not all. Our lovely wedding party knew how much my husband and I were dieting before the wedding and denying ourselves our favorite foods. They wanted to do something sweet for us and decided to order a pizza from a local pizzeria and have it waiting in our hotel room after the wedding as a surprise. Well, there was NO PIZZA! We don’t know whether the pizza place let us down (not likely) or the hotel forgot about it (very likely), but my wedding party paid for a pizza that was not received and we were all very disappointed. A few days after the wedding we noticed we had been charged for our room, despite qualifying for the deal where the bride & groom get a free night. We had to call them to straighten this out and get the charge reversed, which was resolved during the call. All in all the Hyatt was a very nice hotel and having free shuttle service was a great feature, but working with them involved a lot of unnecessary hassle. Reviewed on 02-07-2017
Sarah Van Wambeke(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2016 I didn't have my wedding here, I just used it for a hotel block for my quests. We (bride and groom) received a complimentary room with champagne on our wedding night, as well as multiple shuttles for our guests to and from the wedding venue. We also reserved a private room for brunch the next morning at an additional cost. I got ready at the hotel the morning of (my room was ready for check in at 10 am!) and they went above and beyond making sure everything was ready for me. They even comped the room service I ordered because I had been too busy to eat breakfast before my makeup artist arrived. Every guest I spoke to really enjoyed their stay. The hotel itself is gorgeous and spacious; even though there were several other weddings going on at the same time as mine, I never felt rushed or cramped while in the hotel. Reviewed on 13-06-2016

This review is exclusively to address the Hyatt Lisle as a wedding room block hotel (not as a wedding venue). My husband and I selected this hotel for our wedding room block because it is located immediately adjacent to the property of our wedding venue--the Morton Arboretum. We encouraged friends and family--including many locals--to take advantage of the room block simply for the shuttle service option. We requested and confirmed our shuttle times with the hotel at the earliest possible date. Everything went fine for the shuttle drop offs before the ceremony. But when the time came for our first departing shuttle to arrive to ferry guests back to the hotel--11 pm, no shuttle came. The guests who were waiting are the types of guests who tend to take the earlier shuttles home--I'm talking about pregnant women, senior citizens and parents with young children. These people stood standing and waiting for almost a full hour. During this time, we attempted to call the Hyatt to find out what was happening. At about 11:10 we were told that there were multiple weddings happening that night and the shuttle would be there in 15 minutes. That didn't happen. The groom himself tried calling the hotel front desk numerous times and left voicemails because no one was picking up. My father--the Father of the bride--then took it upon himself to drive our elderly guests back to the hotel himself. My father dropped off three carloads of guests rather than continue to celebrate at his daughter's wedding reception. My groom was stuck making unanswered phone calls to the hotel for 30 minutes instead of celebrating at his wedding reception. It should go without saying that this was a complete and utter failure to meet expectations. Sadly for my family and our guests, what was otherwise a perfect night in our lives was marred by this experience. Reviewed on 26-04-2016

Erica the wedding planner was beyond helpful and extremely patient when dealing with my crazy family. She was welcoming and accommodating, and always got back to us in a timely manner. The room rate for our block of rooms was affordable, the best rate we came across when searching around. I trusted the kind and hardworking staff to receive and/or set up from my vendors which included DJ, flowers, and cake. The hotel let us drop off reception necessities the day before to then set up on the day of. I can't say it enough, but everything was perfect. My husband and I ended the night exhausted, then enterd our panoramic suite to a kind note and gift from Erica. The morning after the wedding the staff YET AGAIN surprised us with a private buffet for the guests that stayed the night at the hotel. We knew ahead of time there would be a breakfast, but the fact that we had a private room and buffet was an added bonus and surprise. Michele Kremer(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-07-2015 We blocked 20 rooms, and a couple of them did not end up booked, but there was no penalty to us. We ended up with a panoramic suite complimentary for 2 nights. It was a spacious room, surrounded in windows. Pretty, with enough room for all the moms and girls getting ready (6 of us). It didn't have a fridge or microwave, but upon request we got a microwave. When one of my friends was taking a shower she said dead silver fish were rising out of the drain. Melissa Schapiro(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2014 I used this hotel for my guests to stay at after out reception. I booked a block of rooms and once my guests starting reserving it said what time of room they would be getting. Well, the hotel was sold out the night of my wedding and so apparently if you don't check in until you get back to the hotel at 1a.m. they just give your room to someone else on a first come first serve basis. I had 2 guests who were supposed to have king beds and were given 2 double beds. When I talked to the manager about this the next day he was not accommodating and basically made excuses for why this occurred. If you reserve a room it should be your room and not given to someone else because they arrived before another guest. I am very disappointed with the customer service and do not recommend this hotel. Julia Spiotta(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2011 Excellent experience with the Hyatt in Lisle and with their event staff. Venue itself is not extravagent, but is incredibly professional and modern in its atmosphere. We had an entire wing of the hotel to ourselves for the reception, including a medium-sized ballroom, 2 rooms across from the ballroom (we used them as a coatroom and as a children's room during the dinner), and private restrooms. The atrium, which is located in the lobby of the hotel, also has plenty of seating accommodations and had a full bar available (we only provided beer, wine, and soft drinks). \r\rService leading up to and including the reception was fantastic on all ends. Changes in event staff did not interrupt our planning or result in any miscommunication. Full meal-tasting was provided, including desserts and wine selections (one of my favorite parts), and the staff was both very friendly and eager to assist with our needs and requests. \r\rCatering was a bit understaffed at the reception, but they still kept our guests happy and entertained. Any requests or concerns that were brought up were almost immediately reconciled. \r\rI was also very pleased with the housekeeping staff after the wedding-- we had forgotten a large stack of wedding cards in the hotel room, and after a week went back to find everything locked away and accounted for. Everyone we worked with at the Hyatt was pleasant, cheery, and more than willing to assist us with anything we needed. \r\rI've found this stellar service to be consistent with stays at other Hyatts. I would choose this vendor again in a heartbeat.\r\rBiggest difference between the Hyatt and other fancier, more elegant, wedding-oriented venues we saw was the personal care that was given to our event. Our wedding was the only event going on that evening, and we had an entire section of the hotel closed off for our guests and entertainment. Unlike other weddings we've attended, we did not have to worry about other receptions occurring at the same venue, or having to share the same lobbies/restrooms with guests of other events. Even if you do not choose to use this venue, I would highly HIGHLY recommend going with someone who will not have other events going on the same night as your wedding.\r\rBest of luck and many blessings with all of your wedding planning!! We had 70+ guests book rooms, and almost all of them had problems. When booking, guests would call and tell them they were in need of a room under our wedding block, countless times guests were told there were no more rooms left, even though there were. This created so much un-needed stress for us, having to call every time and fix the situation.\rWe asked if we could make gift bags for our guests, and was told as our guests check in, the front desk would hand them out. This was very important as we hired an outside shuttle for transportation, and the letter with the itinerary was in the gift bag. After my first six guests checked in and did not receive a bag I had to call and complain, again. They started handing out more than one bag per room, outside my instruction of one bag per room, leaving me short bags, therefore some guests got nothing. \r\rThe situation was usually always rectified, but anyone can understand how much stress goes into a wedding. Extra un-needed stress is not welcome or appreciated. The service to us the day of the wedding was good. The hotel was nice, and clean, but after prior problems with customer service I will not re-visit this hotel or recommend it. Reviewed on 07-10-2011
