Hyatt Regency Rochester Reviews
Ezela Tagliente(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2018 TL/DR: Go with the Hyatt for an elegant, upscale dream wedding with the amazing Chet Whisler at the helm. Everyone needs to have a sit down with the Hyatt. They renovated their hotel in 2017 and we chose them after going through what was basically a hard hat tour of concrete, open walls, and a concept of what it would look like. The finished product is nothing short of stunning. From start to finish, the Hyatt gave us five star service and personalized care. Even past the finish, we still talk to Chet to see what he's up to and we try to go as often as possible to see what's new and exciting at The Street Kitchen and Bar. I know it's super trendy right now to have your wedding in a barn or other alternative spaces, but if you're looking for upscale and value, the Hyatt is where you want to be. What I mean by value is that you may pay a little more than other places, but what you get is exponentially more impressive than you could ever imagine. Each and every staff member carries themselves professionally and cares about your event. The entire process was just a complete delight. One note that was unforgettable - the food. The menu tasting was insanely delicious and fun, we had our own waiter in a conference room and the food just kept coming in! Chet gave us insightful and helpful feedback about our choices and all of our guests raved about the food and the garbage plate late night station. Plus, because he knew we'd be busy, Chet made sure to have two garbage plates boxed up and waiting for us in our suite at the end of the night. Can I tell you after a night of dancing and drinking, opening the room fridge to see garbage plates at 2:30am....heaven!I could go on about everything - but the one thing you need to know is that Chet is the master of elegant and well executed weddings. Anything you could worry about, Chet has a solution for. Tell him your ideas and he will make it happen. Reviewed on 07-02-2019
Katie Keller(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2018 The Hyatt was amazing! Everyone said that dinner was the best “wedding food” they had ever had! Bar service was great, and our cocktail hour and late night snacks were a hit. Things were organized and ran smoothly all night. Chet is a wonderful planner and organizer, with a great attention to detail! My only issue was that when we went to pick things up the next day (photo booth props, table signs, vases, frames, etc), our things were very unorganized and a few things were missing and never made it back to us. Katie Garner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2017 WOW!!!!!  My wedding was truly an amazing event thanks to Chet Whisler at the Hyatt Regency Rochester!!! From our initial inquiry and throughout every single stage of planning; even date changes etc. We always felt our needs were Chets priority. The venue is absolutely beautiful to begin with but once Chet and his staff arranged and setup the ballroom they transformed into the most elegant, glamorous event beyond anything I could have ever dreamt of. Our entire evening was perfect from a fabulous meal to special attention throughout the evening. Chet went above and beyond he personally took care of our head table and made sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Rochester to anyone searching for professionals who truly care, deliver what they promise, and go above and beyond to make your event a dream come true. It is truly impossible to thank and to compliment Chet Whisler, enough!!! He and his staff surpassed my dreams of a glamorous wedding and perfect evening!! Reviewed on 23-10-2017
Keddy Phelan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2016 The Hyatt made our dreams come true. The place looked like it was straight out of a movie! The food was delicious and staff was so helpful! Kyle, catering head, was great to work with and made any necessary calls/adjustments as he saw ft without needing to consult bride and groom on everything. Chet, however, MADE this experience for my husband and I. From the moment we met with Chet, to weeks after picking up items we left behind, Chet was personable, professional and thinking three steps ahead of us! We felt zero stress the entire time and much of this was due to Chet. Thank you, Hyatt!!! Wish we could do it again! Reviewed on 06-11-2016
Anonymous (bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-09-2017 We hosted a wedding at the Hyatt. We chose the Hyatt based upon their promise of great service. Unfortunately the Hyatt did not deliver. The bar line was long, the food service was late, the wine service was non existent and the food was not as promised. Reviewed on 13-07-2016
Rob Snyder(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2017 My wife and I did our wedding at the Hyatt on May 28, 2016. There are two event spaces; The Grand Ballroom and the Main St. level room. We used the Main St. room which holds up to 150. Our overall experience with the Hyatt was amazing. We canceled our wedding Max's because we were not comfortable with their staff (poor communication, unwilling to meet outside of 9-4:30, asked us to book a vendor for chairs rather than them). When I called the Hyatt to cancel my block of rooms in January (5 months before our scheduled event at Max's) I was transferred to Chet. Chet is their events manager and is amazing. He informed me that the Hyatt had the Main St. room available and the cost was reasonable. For $89 per person we were able to get all of the added bonuses that many places charge extra for (seat covers, cake cutting, champagne toast, 4 hours of open bar etc.). We added garbage plates for another $12 per person, but that was well worth it as the garbage place was awesome! Our reception lasted from 6:00 when cocktail hour started until 1:00am when the DJ had to get home. The food was amazing as was the hospitality. When we arrived back at our room all of our gifts had been brought upstairs and there were purple rose petals (the main color of the wedding) leading to the bed where 2 trays of chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne sat waiting. Finally, as we checkout the next day I went to the counter to pay for the suite for one night as the bridal party used it to get ready in the night before the wedding and found out the manager comped the room for us so we got the suite for two nights at no additional charge. I love the Hyatt and Chet. Do your wedding there! Reviewed on 04-06-2016

Chet was our coordinator and he EXCEEDED our expectations. He and his staff did a phenomenal job setting up our ballroom and executing my dream wedding day. Chet was fantastic to work with and was beyond helpful. \rThe staff was attentive and made our wedding day care free. Jary C(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-06-2013 Choosing a venue for our wedding day was a very important decision for us. We viewed many different ones before choosing the Hyatt and are very relieved to know that we made the right decision. We were absolutely blown away by the Hyatt's level of professionalism. They truly put their clients first. The tasting was out of this world and the service on the wedding day was outstanding. We felt special and definitely catered to. I did not have to worry about anything in terms of the reception on the wedding day. Julie and staff were a true blessing. I am so grateful they made our day smooth and impeccable. Everything was so beautiful. Our friends and family are still raving about how delicious the food was. I most certainly highly recommend them! Reviewed on 04-08-2013

Jennifer Mandina(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-11-2012 The catering and reception were wonderful! Chet, our coordinator, was awesome! He made sure that every detail of the reception was perfect. I cannot say enough good things about Chet. He even made sure we had extra time to submit our final numbers because many of our guests were coming from Hurricane Sandy torn regions and several had to cancel at the last minute.\r\rBoth my husband and I had a large number of out of town guests. We had issues with getting enough rooms for our guests due to a large convention that we were unaware of until after we had signed the contract. The rooms coordinator, Sharon, tried very hard to work within the restraints of the corporate policy. I think they were surprised by how many rooms we needed. It is my suggestion to discuss this before signing anything. Reviewed on 29-11-2012

Kristine Penisse(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2010 Right from the start of our wedding planning to the very last second, The Hyatt was absolutely amazing. My husband and I worked with Chet and Heather throughout our planning and they were incredibly attentive. At any point of stress, they knew exactly what to do and say to make us feel better. Chet always had a dark chocolate bar for me at all of our meetings. I felt completely comfortable leaving everything in their hands. We were lucky and had the whole ballroom for our wedding on 10/9/10 which was wonderful considering that we had more guests than anticipated. The set up was perfect for us and there was enough space so that we didn't feel crowded at all. The food was awesome and the little food details like a special meal for my son, dark chocolate for me, my husband's food dislikes and my glass always being full with RB really stuck out to me. Details mean a lot and get noticed. I will definitely be recommending the Hyatt Regency Rochester to everyone that will listen. The service, quality and value were all top notch. Our wedding day was beautiful. Reviewed on 26-10-2010
