Wonderful people to work with, albeit a little confusing as our coordinator changed a few times last minute, but overall communication and planning was really professional and well structured. The Cottonwood Pavilion venue was gorgeous and the layout and design help from our coordinator went perfectly! Had zero issues on wedding day, as our coordinator kept everything in a timely manner even when a few wedding party people were late - they very flexible and accommodating to all of our guests! The food was amazing, even for my husband's and I's dietary needs - probably the best vegetarian food I've had in forever! Our suite was gorgeous and everybody was incredibly nice throughout the whole process. HIGHLY recommend checking them out!

Beautiful setting and the food was wonderful. There were many challenges along the way-slow communication, staff and facility not ready for decorations (I ironed my own table cloths at my rehearsal because Tamaya staff disappeared!) Shuttles werenât readily available and guests waited nearly an hour to leave the reception and event staff was not cooperative to call for them. And the âicing on the cakeâ was that they lost the top tier of our cake! The day after when we tried to retrieve it, there were no event staff and the hotel staff just shrugged their shoulders. We learned a week and a half later that they did in fact have it, but had somehow lost it so we didnât get to freeze it for our anniversary. When I complained to Hyatt corporate, the general manager of the resort did contact me and we were able to negotiate a resolution after the fact. Iâm giving them three stars because the setting is beautiful and the food was great but the planning services and execution were terrible and resulted in a lot of unnecessary stress for us as a couple. If I had known how Tamaya staff was going to behave (and there was SO much more than just this!) I wouldnât have booked it without hiring a wedding planner to twist their arms into providing the service I was paying for.

I cannot even put into words how unbelievably incredible everyone is at the Tamaya. Lyric made this process so easy that at times I would actually start to panic thinking this can't be real! My husband and I got married this past May 22nd at the sunset amphitheater and it was the most stunning and beautiful place I could ever imagine. There is not a single thing that I would change and I cannot thank Lyric enough for everything (mostly for bringing me snacks and tequila after the ceremony). All 50 of our guests including ourselves stayed at the Tamaya for the weekend and every single person was blown away. We are still receiving calls saying that this was the best wedding they had ever been to!

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa proved to be the perfect place for my daughterâs wedding. The scenery was amazing but most important the staff all throughout the resort made it their priority to give us and our wedding guests a 5 star experience. Lyric was our wedding coordinator and went over and beyond with punctuality and professionalism to make sure we were at ease throughout the process. Thank you for making it such a memorable wedding that we will look back on with fondness always.

We had a truly amazing experience with our wedding at Tamaya, and I am so thankful we chose it as our venue. Shaunna is incredible, I can't recommend her enough. She was so patient and kind throughout (and with COVID, there was a lot of uncertainty, all the time!!), and her knowledge and experience are obvious...she knows what she's doing! We also worked with Chrissie and Lyric, who were also incredible and provided so much support in the weeks leading up to the actual event. Between the three of them, every last detail was in place, things like labeling food for guests with dietary restrictions (also, the food was fantastic!!), helping us keep things on schedule, checking in on our guests throughout the night, it was all so seamless! Thanks to them, on my wedding day, I did nothing but have a blast with friends and family...I didn't have to worry at all! And, of course, the venue itself is stunning. We chose the Cottonwood Pavilion--it is beautiful and private, and our guests absolutely loved it.

I was in awe of a wedding I just went to at The Tamaya. From the reception overlooking the Sandia Mountains, to the fabulous cocktail hour on the patio, and delicious reception dinnerâ I was enamored. The staff at the resort also was fabulous, went above and beyond, and seemed to help everything flow perfectly and make sure all outside vendors were supported when they had to set up.

We have such fond memories of our June 2021 wedding due to the gorgeous venue, as well as the hotel staff. The ceremony location was stunning, with a backdrop of the Sandia mountains (which turn pink at sunset!). Shauna and the event staff were absolute professionals--very responsive and helpful. Shauna worked with us on every detail, allowing us to have our dream wedding and stay within our budget. Mohammed, the manager of the hotel, took care of every logistical detail and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of--from organizing horseback rides for the kids to making sure my dress arrived on time. Everyone on staff was always one step ahead of us. We also appreciated the preservation of important cultural elements specific to the Pueblo of Santa Ana all over the hotel. We wouldn't change a thing.

Our dream venue was more beautiful and memorable than we had hoped! The natural beauty of the Sandia mountains was the perfect backdrop for our daughterâs September wedding. The reception tent housed a 18 piece jazz orchestra and with the help of the accommodating staff and florist -the tent was transformed. Food and drinks were delicious and elegantly served . Our families and friends all loved the experience of the hotel and gorgeous rooms, pools, hiking trails and spa. Truly, a treasure in New Mexico, you simply canât forget it.

I'll start by saying that this place is huge, beautiful and picturesque. The resort is gorgeous inside and out, and the backdrop of the Sandia Mountains is perfect. But even with all that said, the best thing about the Tamaya is the people. We worked with Shaunna, who was amazing, to start with. Towards the wedding day Shaunna had to take some time off and we transitioned to working with Lyric and Kelly, who filled some very big shoes very welwell. The overall transition was smooth and stress free. The planning was all very consistent and communication was easy; it was obvious from day one all of the staff we worked with wanted to make our wedding as perfect as we did. But, since planning major events can never go perfectly, on the day before the wedding we had a Covid scare. My wife's mom looked like she had contracted the virus and other members of the family were possibly at risk of second hand exposure. We called Lyric to discuss options and she moved heaven and earth to help us. Without her help the wedding would have been postponed or canceled. She changed our venue to an outdoor one, arranged last minute setup and staffing for us and coordinated our way through what could have been a disaster. I don't know how many hours she put in between the day before and the day of the wedding, but it was a lot. She was with us throughout the wedding day, helping with last minute setup and more. The people at the Tamaya are a real X factor in making your time and event at the Tamaya special. Book them and book them today.

From the first walk through I knew this is where I was going to get married. It is an absolutely beautiful venue, they are so easy to work with and honestly I can say the wedding day was perfect! I worked with Shaunna, Lyric and Sarah. They are the most hardworking and caring people ever! They answered every question that I had and did everything they could to make the day as perfect as it was. The Tamaya has three areas of the resort where you can hold your ceremony/ reception. We got married at the cottonwood pavilions and it has a beautiful gazebo. The cottonwoods is away from the resort so it give you a sense of privacy. When I say everything was perfect I mean it, the food was delicious, and the staff was so attentive to our guests. I know everyone worries about spending too much on their wedding but I can't say this enough every penny was worth it and well spent! Call them and get them booked as your wedding venue as soon as you can you don't want to miss out on them hosting your wedding!

I wish I could give more stars than 5. Truthfully the Tamaya and Shaunna went ABOVE and BEYOND every second of every day from the time we began planning our wedding 1.5 years before until the day after when they delivered us a surprise morning after breakfast right to our door. The space is breathtaking and the resort gives the most peaceful and natural ambiance. Most of the reason we went with them in the first place was because Shaunna Skrondahl was so open to our ideas, genuinely excited to work with us on this special day, and made us feel so comfortable around her. But truly I could never have imagined how wonderful she would be when crunch time hit, directing everyone and every detail from the rehearsal to determining if wind would make us have to move to another location. My husband and I didnât have to worry about a single thing from that first second we arrived two days before the wedding. The team decorated for us, set up and took down everything, they loaned us many gorgeous items for the centerpieces and ceremony, and adjusted and re-adjusted when the wind threatened to blow over our rented archway and doors... even though they were from an outside vendor. This place not only offered the most magical, peaceful and natural beauty of any venue we had ever seen in the Bernalillo/ABQ area it offered not one but three different ceremony and reception areas and came with the amazing and incredible team I already mentioned. And for those couples (like us) wanting you stick to a budget, I promise when you crunch the numbers itâs not only affordable but even less than some of the non-inclusive competition. The food is 5 star... we get compliments all the time still, and every detail and recommended vendor we worked with from Shaunnaâs team was incredible and just as willing to be creative and flexible. It was the perfect spot for us and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. We will never get to thank the Hyatt Regency Tamaya enough for making our day truly perfect. We will be visiting every year on our anniversary!!

And for those couples (like us) wanting you stick to a budget, I promise when you crunch the numbers itâs not only affordable but even less than some of the non-inclusive competition. The food is 5 star... we get compliments all the time still, and every detail and recommended vendor we worked with from Shaunnaâs team was incredible and just as willing to be creative and flexible. It was the perfect spot for us and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. We will never get to thank the Hyatt Regency Tamaya enough for making our day truly perfect. We will be visiting every year on our anniversary!!

I cannot say enough great things about Tamaya and its staff. We had our wedding at the end of September, and the colors were absolutely beautiful! The venue itself was great and comfortably fit our 260 guests. We loved the option to have our cocktail hour on the patio of the Cottonwood Pavilion, as well as be able to walk outside and get some fresh air when we got hot inside. The person who really made our day absolutely perfect, though, was Shaunna. She is the real deal. She helped me in ways that I am pretty sure was not in her job description (help fix my dress when it ripped, searched our room for the cake topper, etc). She is the BEST and we are so fortunate to have had her as our venue coordinator. She really went out of her way to make sure our day was perfect. The waitstaff and bartenders were equally as great too! Everyone was great at Tamaya. Our guests said it was by far the best wedding food, and even the best steak they've ever had, so thank you Chef! If you are on the fence about having your wedding at Tamaya, just do it! You will absolutely not be disappointed. Thank you Tamaya SOOOOO MUCH for making mine and Erich's wedding day our perfect dream wedding!

Our fairytale wedding was in May before the busy season. We loved the Sunrise amphitheater but weren't crazy about the ballrooms for the reception (which are normally paired together). The resort was super accommodating and allowed us to have the reception at the Cottonwood Pavillion, which was perfect, secluded, and had a great atmosphere. We had a buffet dinner and the food was outstanding (the artichokes! Wow!!). The staff was very friendly. Shaunna, our event coordinator, was friendly, organized, and put our minds at ease! We can't sign off here without mentioning the amazing views! Our pictures came out fantastic! We know we made the right choice with the Tamaya and would do it again!

My wife and I got engaged in February 2016. We immediately started planning the wedding the very next day. I will admit that she was significantly more motivated than I at the start. We choose a date the next day to be May 2017 so that none of our cousins or other family members would swipe that date. We looked at 10 different places in Albuquerque before we went to Tamaya because we thought it was out of our price range, however, we wanted to see how it compared. We worked with Shawna Akin to tour the grounds and review the wedding packages. Because we planned so far ahead, Tamaya was willing to work with us. After a comparison of all of the quotes we got, everything was similar for 200 guests. Tamaya was still the most expensive, however, it was only by $500; which is @ drop in the bucket when you consider the big picture (camera, DJ, videographer, coordinator, invitations, save the dates, weddING dress, tuxedos, etc.) My wife was so excited after the comparison results and she told me this was her dream. I was pretty excited as well. I knew we both wanted a beautiful wedding. One for the books. Shawna and the Tamaya staff were extremely helpful and attentive during the while planning process. We discussed food allergies, dietary restrictions, safety, etc. They do a lessons learned meeting after every wedding to see how to improve. It worked out for us because our wedding could not have gone more smoothly. Nothing, absolutely nothing went wrong and that was thanks to the dedication of Tamaya team. We were told by both sides of our family that it was a fairy tale wedding. I would recommend Tamaya to anyone. They have three or four wedding locations, but my wife and I choose the cottonwood area. It is private and beautiful. We cannot thank the Tamaya staff enough for everything.

I would highly recommend the venue. The food was great. The wait staff was so attentive. The setting was gorgeous. What a great day!

My daughter was married at Tamaya in May 2017. It was a great experience from the beginning. Shaunna was amazing to work with. She was professional, helpful, supportive and fun. I would highly recommend the venue. The food was great. The wait staff was so attentive. The setting was gorgeous. What a great day!

The Tamaya was the perfect venue. The location at the cottownwoods venue was amazing, went with our theme perfectly, and seated more than enough people! The staff was friendly, consistently checking in, and were very attentive.

We had a very odd dietary request for the menu and the entire team made it happen. We were very concerned that we wouldn't be able to have the kind of wedding we wanted because of it and even though it was something new for the Tamaya, they only ever said \"we will look into it\" and vary rarely, if at all, did they come back with a no. They made our Guests feel completely welcomed and comfortable and many Guests are already discussing when their next trip to the Tamaya will be. Our contact there was an angel and if it wasn't for her and her professionalism, I doubt our wedding would have been the great time we had been dreaming of.

This was beyond a doubt the absolute best thing that ever happened to me!! Everything I wanted, including outdoors, trees, with elegance was met above and beyond at Tamaya. The wedding directors were brilliant, efficient, so nice, and just incredible. The the FOOD!! forget the idea of hotel food, it was TO DIE FOR! The venue is worth every single penny when you see your pictures around the cottonwood forest. And if you're thinking of using the horse and carriage, do it, hands down. Again, goregous, and just made my fairytale come true.

In the end, the wedding was perfect! The food, location and environment was exactly what we wanted for our big day! There was, however, an issue with the space we originally chose not being ready in time (renovations were expected to be completed 2 months before our wedding). The wedding coordinator, Velma, was extremely apologetic and did all she could to accommodate us in another location. Her boss Lynn, however, was rude, never once apologized, and threatened to tear up our contract. After going above Lynn to the general manager of the resort, we were able to resolve the issues and continued to have our even there, with the stipulation that Lynn was no where near our wedding and had no part in it. As long as you steer clear of Lynn, the Hyatt Tamaya is a lovely, quiet, unique place to hold your wedding!

I actually stayed here with my MOH the night before our rehearsal (we checked out on our wedding's eve), and the hotel is beautiful. Also, the staff is amazing and helpful. \rA number of us also used the spa here as well for pre-wedding pampering, and, while it was a bit expensive, I personally thought it was worth it. The place is beautiful, Benita and Michelle were great and Michelle suggested the exact perfect manicure for me. \rI did not have my wedding here, but this place is beautiful and the staff is amazing- I'd imagine it's a great place to get married.
