Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa Reviews
Everett Lo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-01-2023 My wife and I ended up using the Hyatt Regency Waikiki for our reception and I will admit, a large part of that was their availability for our wedding date, we only had a few months to find something. Interestingly, it's also the same location of two of my friend's weddings that I was involved with, so I was very familiar with the venue. They had recently renovated their ballroom at the end of last year, so it has been nicely updated from the last time I was there years ago but they kept their wonderful chandeliers. Vy was the event manager we worked with from the hotel and she was very helpful, answering all of our questions and worked with us when we accidentally missed a payment. Besides the rennovations, the other thing that most my vendors brought up when I mentioned the venue was how good the food was. In fact, that was one of the main things told to me as I talked to guests, and my parents said that was also mentioned in their own conversations with people. (And they box up some meals for the couple so you don't get to miss out on the food yourself!) The staff was friendly and professional, not just the team at the reception, but from the valet, to the front desk, and bellhop, they did what they could to make us feel welcomed. However, for full disclosure, I do have to mention that the their parking lot has some tight turns and some of the spaces are hard to get in and out of, and I did recommend to my guests that they valet park rather than trying to park their cars themselves (I was covering parking.) Charmaine Garzon-Luzuriaga(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-05-2022 My wife and I recently had our wedding at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach and wow was this the greatest decision we made around our wedding. The Hyatt is an incredible hotel with an awesome, helpful staff that made our special day forever memorable. Our initial coordination with Michele was great, clear details and helped us decide on the correct packages. Our primary coordinator, Vy, everything went amazingly smoothly from beginning to end. Vy was with us the whole way through, from helping us organize our tables, to helping us decide the catering menu, to checking in and ensuring that every single possible detail was accounted for, our wedding was a great success thanks in very large part to the effort that Vy put into the event and we are forever grateful. Outside of that, we stayed in one of the high floor suites and the views were just stunning, definitely one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. We hosted our ceremony on the Na Lea Terrace and it was so beautiful! Great views of the beach without having a ton of sand everywhere, and not overly loud from the street and folks across the street. We hosted our reception in the Makai Ballroom and it was really great! The staff was perfect, super kind and checked in with all our guests constantly, and they definitely went the extra mile to ensure that my wife and I were comfortable, going so far as to ensure we had meals ready at our table so we could quickly eat before checking in with our guests. They even boxed extra meals for us so that we could ensure we got to try all the food! The food and drinks were super good! All our guests were very happy with the meals and still talk about it today. Overall such a wonderful experience having our wedding at the Hyatt Regency and I would absolutely recommend them any time, for all events or just for a vacation stay. Reviewed on 10-07-2022
Sarah Vidad(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2022 When I first started looking for venues, I already knew I wanted to have both the ceremony and reception at the same hotel. I also knew that I wanted it to have a view of the ocean. I was pretty set on a different location for the longest time but I decided to check out Hyatt anyways. The Na Lea Terrace has a beautiful view of the ocean and the ballroom is huge (accommodates up to ~300 people)! Not only were we able to do a tour of the venue but we happened to go during the same day they had a buffet tasting. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was spot on (this was true for the day of the event as well!) Long story short, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki shot to the top of my list! After locking down the venue, Michele and Vy was always quick to respond to any questions regarding what kinds of items I can bring in and suggestions on how to make set-up as easy as possible. The hotel staff in general were also amazing. Our entire stay was relaxing and stress free!My wedding day was truly magical and I am so happy that I chose to get married at Hyatt Regency! Reviewed on 21-06-2022

Michelle was amazing and she was able to help set us up with Angela our coordinator who helped to create our perfect intimate wedding. Even during the COVID times and everything changing they were able to help us have such an amazing time. The wedding was even better than I envisioned it. They even provided a list of vendors for music, flowers, cakes etc. Can't thank them enough for this! Reviewed on 20-08-2021
Channing Cassidy(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-03-2014 I held my wedding reception at the Hyatt Regency on the 3rd floor pool terrace. Not only is the view amazing from here but the staff did an amazing job helping set up my items that I had brought. Michelle, the catering coordinator, is awesome. She is so incredibly organized and made the entire experience so amazing. I sent her a million emails and she always promptly responded and was very accomodating for all my requests. The food was delicious and I couldnt believe how many compliments I got on the reception. The only thing I wasnt crazy about was the price of their guest rooms. They are pretty expensive for not being very upgraded. I did have an amazing ocean view though from the 29th floor. Overall, I wouldnt change a thing and would work with the Hyatt anytime! Rebecca Dayhuff(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-12-2013 We love the Hyatt Regency Waikiki! Michele, the events manager, is so amazing. She is prompt, curteous, and super professional. She suggested ideas to us throughout the process to make our day special and was super patient with all of my crazy requests.\rThe hotel has a location for outdoor marriages on a terrace overlooking the ocean which is just gorgeous and a ballroom big enough to fit our huge wedding with over 300 guests. We were originally looking at having over 400 guests and it was one of few locations in Hawaii that could accomodate this.\rThe staff is super friendly and helfpul as well. The food is amazing and they give you so much food for what you pay. Defintiely no one left hungy from our wedding. The hotel also provides comps to the bride and groom based on how much money you spend on the wedding. This was a great way to save money along the way.\rWe love the Hyatt so much that we are already planning to use them for another function. If you want to make sure your wedding goes exactly as you planned I highly recommend using the Hyatt as your venue. The attention to detail they take is amazing and the staff on the day off even helped give us instructions on what to do for the cake cutting because we didn't know exactly how it should be performed. \rI honestly can't say enough good things about our experience at the Hyatt. Skye-Lee Tavares(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2013 Catering Manager, Michele Ganiko, helped us plan our big day. She was such a pleasure to work with that we were sad once the wedding was over. If not for her, our wedding day would not have been nearly as perfect or as beautiful!\r\rShe went above and beyond to help us. She made sure our every need was met and was very quick to respond to all correspondence. She truly was an absolute joy to work with!!\r\rThe following is in no way a reflection of Michele, but rather the craziness at the hotel during our wedding weekend...\r\rWe did experience some problems prior to the wedding. Long story short, the hotel was 100% capacity and we were supposed to have 2 rooms - 1 suite & 1 standard (Groom's) room. The hotel did something funny with our reservations and ended up not booking the groom's room separately. The explanation given still doesn't make sense. Fortunately they found a room for us but advised that we could not go on the patio as repairs were being done.\r\rWe thought no big deal, we can work with that. Only when we went to the room we saw black tape unevenly lining the middle of the patio door, scaffolding outside of the window & a little wooden stick keeping you from being able to open the door. \r\rNaturally we brought this to Michele's attention as video & pictures would be taken in the room. She did everything in her power to assist us, but it was out of her control. Fortunately my sister had booked a room so the guys used her room for the pre-wedding video & pictures.\r\rNow a few hours before the groom's room incident my sister checked into her room (after the check-in time), it wasn't ready so they said they were going to find her a better room. Well, the room they gave her had not been cleaned. There were beer bottles around the room and in the fridge and chips on the bed/table. It was an unpleasant surprise. \r\rShe cleaned up most of it and called housekeeping to let them know her had not been cleaned. She had them clean what she could not. Needless to say she did not leave them a tip.\r\rDespite these unfortunate events, our wedding was perfect. The food was fabulous, the venue was beautiful and the banquet staff were great! I would still recommend anyone getting married to consider the Hyatt. Reviewed on 26-08-2013
Sarah Zalewski(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-03-2013 Our ceremony & reception was at the Hyatt and it was spectacular -- the pool terrace was amazing. Despite being near the pool, it's blocked off and you don't hear or see anyone, and it's gorgeous. Amazing entrance over the bridge/walk way down the white aisle runner. The reception was across the street in one of the ballrooms, and that too was amazing. Great space, great food, great service. Our only problem was in some of the details in the bill, but we're currently working those out. But our wedding was perfect there, and I recommend this venue! Reviewed on 17-04-2013
Myla Baranowsky(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2012 We decided to get married at the Hyatt Regency. We didn't get to view the ceremony site because we are on the East Coast, but the pictures on the website are accurate. We got married in August, the hotel has a start time of 5:00pm, it is very bright. Our guest were using our fans to block the sun. :/ They block off the ceremony site from the pool but you will have a lot of on-lookers.\rThe cocktail hour is usual held across the street. It is basically in a hallway. That is not what we had in mind for a Hawaiian wedding. We chose to move it next to the ceremony site. They did allow that but told us that we had to spend $3,000 in the 50 minutes for cocktail hour because we were renting out part of the restaurant. Each item of food was $5.50. I thought that was ridiculous!! I mean one piece of shrimp was $5.50! We ordered the sliders and asked them to cut them in half so that we could allow more guest to try them, unfortunately they forgot on the day of the wedding.\rThe ballroom looks like every other ballroom. Nothing special. We had cupcakes instead of a cake and they still charged us a $1.00 per guest. They didn't even have to deliever the cupcakes to the guest. We allowed them to choose because of all the flavors.\rThe Hyatt is very strict with having all of your vendors out of the room by 11:30pm (that is in the contract), your wedding has to end at 11:00pm. We went a few minutes over (3 or 4) and they were threatening to charge us $500 for every half hour. We spent over $30,000 at the Hyatt, not including all the rooms we booked for the out of state guest and buying drinks at their swim bar, and they could'nt even cut us some slack. The represenative who was telling us he was going to charge us was very rude. If I had to do it all over again, I would have chose a different venue. Reviewed on 25-08-2012

Needless to say, was VERY disappointed since I had really wanted to have an outdoor reception. However, the catering manager went out of her way to help us 1. find an alternative venue 2. make up for the issue at hand. The food was to-die-for! The Garlic Chicken was grinds and the executive chef was really helpful with our menu! The Red Velvet wedding Cake was the best I've had (it was a special request that they gladly accomodated), and the chocolate lovin' spoon cake was talked about for weeks after the wedding!
