Fully customized events in an elegant setting with the uniqueness of being the sole event on your special day. The site features cathedral ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and an adjacent terrace which offers magnificent views. However, our hallmark is exquisite food and unsurpassed service. 25 miles south of Chicago, in Flossmoor, Illinois, sits Idlewild Country Club, a wedding venue that will see all your dreams come true. This elegant property provides the perfect location to host your wedding reception. The golf course and breathtaking surrounding grounds offer a private sanctuary for you and your guests to celebrate your union. The enchanting ballroom will be the location for your reception. Its tall cathedral-syle ceiling demands your attention, while the wall-to-wall windows provide captivating views of the grounds. The ballroom has a capacity to receive 100-350 guests. The venue itself will provide the tables and chairs for the event, and can also provide chair covers. The expert event coordinators on site will be there to ensure the planning process is as simple as possible. Everything was perfect and beautiful!! Their coordinator Taryn made sure everything was perfect and I was happy and relaxed from the start. Everyone at Idlewild is absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Wonderful people, wonderful staff, AMAZING FOOD, and gorgeous venue!!

Everything was perfect and beautiful!! Their coordinator Taryn made sure everything was perfect and I was happy and relaxed from the start. Everyone at Idlewild is absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Wonderful people, wonderful staff, AMAZING FOOD, and gorgeous venue!!

Our wedding reception was at Idlewild in September 2022. The reception was everything I was looking for and more! Peter was extremely helpful with the entire process and walked us through every step, including giving us helpful suggestions to make the decision process easier. Although we had our ceremony at a nearby church, the bridal party was able to use the space at Idlewild to get ready, which was nice and spacious! Even the make-up team was excited to use the space at Idlewild, as they remembered it from a previous wedding they did and loved the space. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and our wedding day went smoothly thank you to Peter and his amazing team. We were able to drop off some of our own signs/decor the week of the wedding and Peter & his team took care of getting them set-up for the big day, which I was very thankful for. The food was phenomenal, and we've received many compliments from our guests about how delicious the food was. I couldn't have asked for a better day thanks to Peter & his team going above and beyond. Thank you for the best day! I highly recommend having your wedding at Idlewild!

Our wedding at Idlewild was perfection!! The planning process was so easy, yet so much fun! The staff at Idlewild showed that they truly cared about our wedding and making our vision come to life. The club manager and banquet manger are extremely knowledgable on weddings and were able to give us so many great suggestions to help make our day perfect! We have nothing but great things to say about the friendly and hard working staff, the great service, the beautiful venue, and the AMAZING food! The food was absolutely delicious! We had guest after guest come up to us to tell us how amazing the food was. Many times we go to weddings and the food comes out cold. Not at Idlewild!! The food was hot, so flavorful, and cooked to perfection! It truly was a perfect day from start to end! We would highly recommend Idlewild for your wedding to anyone. We are so thankful to everyone at Idlewild for helping to bring our vision to life and truly making it such memorable day!

Idlewild pulled out all the stops! From beginning to end they were there every step of the way! Being the bride and having the luxury of being in one location for every aspect was the best. From getting ready there , to the ceremony , dinner & reception! The transition was smooth and their excellent staff quick with service! I truly had the wedding of my dreams. Family and friends are to thank but the location truly made it home! We live 5 minutes down the road! What a perk to have had such beautiful day this late in October too. We got to enjoy the course for some stunning photographs & enjoy the outside Terrace! Thank you!!

Idlewild and everyone we worked with made my wedding day so smooth. The food was delicious and there were options to accommodate all our guests with food restrictions. The banquet manager Taryn was incredibly helpful in every step of the process. We didn't have to worry about getting extra help from people for last minute things like set up and tear down, decorations, etc. I literally could not have done it without her. The bridal suite is so beautiful and an attendant named Della was available to help me get ready and made sure I looked my best. She knew all the little tricks and was so wonderful. The venue included everything you needed for a wedding without having to pay extra fees or worry about the hassle of finding vendors. It made everything so easy. Highly recommend.

Taryn was fantastic to work with and Idlewild was a beautiful venue for our wedding. The food was amazing, the set up of being the only event, and just the space in general made this the perfect choice for us. This day would not have be possible without Taryn who set up the room beautifully and making my centerpieces perfect without me having to even mention what to do with them. Also, everything went smoothly and wonderfully!

From start to finish working with Idlewild was a dream. Taryn, the banquet manager was A M A Z I N G. So professional, sweet, a true pleasure to work with! She helped an enormous amount when we were going through the tough decision to postpone our wedding (original date 9/19/20 changed to 8/28/21) and Idlewild was incredibly accommodating. Taryn made sure all the details were perfect. The food tasting was such a treat (everything was so good!!!) For the big day, I can't even begin to describe how phenomenal everything was. My bridal party felt so taken care of (shout out to Della) and we had delicious treats while getting ready in the beautiful changing rooms made available to the bridal party. The space was everything we wanted and more. Everyone was so comfortable and the tables were perfectly spaced out. Everything was beautiful, from the chairs to the linen and up lighting. The ceremony layout was perfect and beautiful. Everyone LOVED the food, the food was so ridiculously good- we opted for a sweet table (which was beautiful by the way) and it was demolished within the hour! I can go on and have been going on about how wonderful Idlewild is. Without a doubt we had the best wedding ever and my friends and family are still so excited from the day. Also, I need everyone to understand that we had such a luxurious and fabulous day that didn't break us. It was incredibly affordable to have our wedding at Idlewild but we still had everything we needed and more. I just cannot thank Taryn and the rest of the team at Idlewild enough for the best day of my life.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic is not easy but planning at wedding at Idlewild country club was! Taryn made the process easy and fun and kept me sane during the unknowns. The food was beyond amazing and the staff beyond helpful. The day of I had EVERYTHING I needed including an amazing space to get ready in and a cooler for my drinks. Not only is the venue beautiful but the staff is amazing. My day was absolutely perfect. I can’t say enough good things about Idlewild and I would recommend it to any wedding/party/gathering. They made sure everything was the way I wanted it down to the the table decor. I highly recommend idlewild to any bride/groom.

We hosted a bridal shower for my niece at Idlewild Country Club in June 2020 and it was such a wonderful event! The food was absolutely delicious (everyone commented on the yummy Parmesan bowls that the salad was in) and we brought our own cake which they generously cut and served. We brought decorations and they were so helpful in getting it all set up and just as we wanted it to look! The servers were fabulous and we were a group of about 35 people and they got the food out to all of us at the same time! It's such a pretty light filled space on the inside and they provided the table cloths and napkins and also a great speaker so we could play our own music! The team at Idlewilde is fantastic and I would recommend them for your next event for sure!!

You can customize almost anything you choose from the dance floor location, hanging lights, type/colors of chairs and type/colors of tablecloths, lighting, decorations. My brother was also married here a year prior and our guests thought we were married at two different venues due to the customization on the decorations. The space is HUGE and you never feel crowded or wait in line for a drink at the bar. Peter will walk you through everything each step of the way and provides great insight from the billions of weddings he has hosted. Every one of our guests raves about the food. You cannot beat the food. Anywhere. Ever. The customized appetizers, main dishes, sides, dessert table and late night pizza were things I could only dream about. The staff was so attentive not just to the wedding party, but every single guest. We don't have a single complaint from our whole experience. Thank you Idlewild!!

Everything was great about Idlewild! The food is amazing!! My husband is the pickiest eater and he ate everything off of his plate that would would not eat anywhere else. haha True story! But all in all, not only is this place beautiful and great for pictures, but Taryn the wedding coordinator is awesome! She made everything so easy and accommodated us in every way possible. I was going to Grad school while wedding planning and Taryn decreased my wedding stress by 100%!! I have recommended this place to friends I know that are getting married and will always recommend this place. Thank you to Idlewild for an amazing wedding!!

Everything was great about Idlewild! The food is amazing!! My husband is the pickiest eater and he ate everything off of his plate that would would not eat anywhere else. haha True story! But all in all, not only is this place beautiful and great for pictures, but Taryn the wedding coordinator is awesome! She made everything so easy and accommodated us in every way possible. I was going to Grad school while wedding planning and Taryn decreased my wedding stress by 100%!! I have recommended this place to friends I know that are getting married and will always recommend this place. Thank you to Idlewild for an amazing wedding!!

Idlewild was the most perfect wedding venue! From start to finish, Peter and Taryn made planning a breeze. They made sure all of our vendors came together. Everything went seamlessly. We had a large wedding and the room is so spacious it didn’t even feel like that many people were there. There was great space between the tables and the bar is so big and accommodating no one was ever waiting in line. To this day people are still raving about the food, which is unmatched! The view of the golf course from the room is beautiful and our pictures on the golf course look amazing! Idlewild is the perfect place to have your reception at! The venue itself is so beautiful. It has glass doors and you have yourself a beautiful view of the golf course. So beautiful that my husband and I along with our wedding party, we took pictures out in the beautiful golf course. It has such a beautiful day out and it was perfect to get some good pictures out in the golf course. Not only the venue is beautiful but also the food is amazing and the manager Peter was so helpful with everything. My husband and I kept getting so many compliments the next day from our families saying how delicious the food was and we agree. The food here is amazing. Any type of plate you pick for your guests, they are going to love it. The manager Peter was super helpful and patient with everything. If you and your fiancé can’t decide on something for your reception, that’s what peter is there for. He will help in giving you options and see what you both like best. If it deals with decorations, the options for the food, and etc. That’s what he is there for. Also, my husband and I along with our families made mostly all the decorations for the venue and I figured we would have to set up all the decorations ourselves but thanks to peter we didn’t have to. He took care of setting most of the decorations up for us. All we had to do is take him all the decorations and he just set it all up along with the help of his staff. That was a huge help! Truly recommend doing your reception here!

It was a perfect day because Peter is a virtuoso event coordinator with a wealth of experience and an outstanding staff. Any potential snags were worked out long before the big day. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We concur! The bridal suite attendant took such good care of my bridal party and me. From steaming the dresses to helping with my 89 year old mother, she put everyone at ease immediately. It was a first class experience in a lovely setting... even with the clouds. Best of all, it did not break the bank.

His 30+ years of experience shined through in his calming, reassuring manner, and his ability to foresee, troubleshoot and prevent any possible snags in our day. He responded to everything in a timely manner, and was generous, accommodating and considerate throughout. His knowledge of and good relationships with area vendors also added ease to all the planning.Chef Jeff paid special attention to all food preferences and sensitivities, and did not compromise taste. We had so many compliments about the deliciousness of the food!Della, was my fairy godmother throughout our wedding day. I didn’t even realize that the venue provided a personal attendant. She tended to and anticipated every need of our wedding party and even to our guests throughout the wedding. I can not say enough good things about this woman. Her loving presence was a gift.The space itself is also fantastic! One of my favorite spots was the bridal suite. It is one of the many free amenities Idlewild offers to make your day go by with ease so that your only focus is enjoying your time with those you love. I personally spent the full day there with my ladies. The salon sent their staff to ready us, and for a nominal fee Idlewild provided mimosas and delicious snacks.All in all, Idlewild is a classy wedding venue that conducts business with integrity, quality, affordability and style. There are not enough words to express how grateful we are for the team at Idlewild! When my now husband and I first got engaged, I was living in Ohio and he was living in Iowa. We knew we wanted to get married in Illinois since most of our family is there. Idlewild took all the stress out of planning long distance. Peter was so responsive to emails and answered all of my questions without delay. Taryn and Cheyenne have been wonderful additions to the team and jumped right in to help make our day so wonderful. Chef Jeff did not disappoint with our food and I've had several people tell me that, not only was the food delicious, the presentation of it was gorgeous! I have known Peter Corydon and the Idlewild Staff for many years now, and when my husband and I got engaged, I knew Idlewild would have to be the spot for our wedding. Peter was amazing helping me bring my visions to life, and going along with my crazy requests. He was quick to recommend different vendors, and great with checking in periodically to go over all the details. Leading up to the day, I knew I was in great hands and felt very comfortable the day of thanks to him and the Idlewild staff. Della in the women's locker room was amazing!! She had plenty of food and drinks available all day, and even helped me get into my dress, rub ointment on my aching feet, and bustle my dress for the reception. Without her in the locker room helping me every step of the way, I would have been extremely overwhelmed. Our day could not have been as perfect as it was without Idlewild Country Club and their staff. Peter and the staffs knowledge was instrumental when planning our wedding. From the planning to the staff executing the ceremony and reception, we could not have been more thrilled with the outcome. Everyone still talks about the food and how delicious Chef Jeff's dinner was. Thank you Idlewild Country Club for making the best day of our lives run so smooth! I have called Jen my \"fairy godmother\" of wedding planning since day 1 (and it still stands true). She never made me feel silly for asking so many questions and she literally turned our dream wedding reception into a reality. I cannot thank her and the staff at Idlewild enough for all their hard work and dedication to our wedding reception. The venue space itself was breathtaking! The food was delicious. The space was open and airy. We even got everyone outside on the terrace for a 4-minute firework show and it went perfectly because of Jen and Peter and their amazing attention to detail. Idlewild has a perfect flow to it. Between the bar, the dance floor, and our photo booth, guests were constantly in a circle of pure wedding bliss! This is not a \"typical\" ballroom space...and that's exactly what I loved about it! The room is comfortable and allows you to create your own sparkle and transform it into a unique space!If I had to do it all again, I would choose to have my wedding reception at Idlewild Country Club without a doubt!

Our wedding was more than I could have ever imagined! The entire staff at idlewild country club is wonderful! Peter was so on top of everything- he made sure my vision came to life. The venue is huge, it’s clean, and has so many options available to make your theme come to life! My husband and I looked at a few other venues, but nothing compared to idlewild. Reasonably priced, huge venue, beautiful grounds for pictures, AMAZING food-it is a hidden gem!! The staff was also wonderful- the bartenders made sure we had everything we needed, the chef made sure our guests with food allergy concerns got a dish they could eat, and the locker room attendant Dela was a saint! I have never in my life met anybody as sweet as her! She made sure we had everything we needed the whole day! From steaming each girls dress to make sure they were perfect, to getting cream for my aching feet before the reception- she is a kind hearted woman who loved what she does and truly made my day wonderful! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding! If you want great service, great food, and to work with wonderful caring people who want to make your day amazing, book this venue ❤️

The staff was also wonderful- the bartenders made sure we had everything we needed, the chef made sure our guests with food allergy concerns got a dish they could eat, and the locker room attendant Dela was a saint! I have never in my life met anybody as sweet as her! She made sure we had everything we needed the whole day! From steaming each girls dress to make sure they were perfect, to getting cream for my aching feet before the reception- she is a kind hearted woman who loved what she does and truly made my day wonderful! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding! If you want great service, great food, and to work with wonderful caring people who want to make your day amazing, book this venue ❤️

The night of our reception, at least three of our guests said, \"It's the best wedding food we've ever had!\" but I thought they were just drunk and being nice. The next day, a few more people said the same thing. Now here it is, almost a week later, and we keep hearing from more guests, \"Without a doubt, the best wedding food out there!\" (So it MUST be true!) Also heard from a few guests how nice the set up was, with the dance floor and bar being visible to each other. I personally love the midcentury modern vibe of the place, the large windows and the view of the golf course. The prices are reasonable, the staff is and friendly and attentive, which is not something you really experience too often at weddings. Usually you have to wait forever in the bar line, but not at Idlewild. They also took excellent care to pack up all our decor afterwards and kept safe until we could pick it up. (Peter = Amazing!) My new husband and I are considering joining the country club, me for the food and pool, my husband for the golf course (which is, apparently, very awesome). Thank you, Idlewild, for a beautiful and classy reception! I also loved the dangling crystals from the light fixtures. They look shimmery and elegant in our photographs.

We could not have asked for a more perfect day thanks to Idlewild! From the start Jen was so wonderful to work with.. The reception hall is BEAUTIFUL! Jen was there the day of and set up the centerpieces , decorations & party favors. When we arrived the place looked perfect! I was torn about having the dance floor to the side of the room (you can have it in the center or side but they recommended to the side) but having it to the side got everyone up dancing and people are able to sit at the bar as well and still have a perfect view of the dance floor. There is also a private bathroom for the bride and bridal party which was great. I could go on & on but overall so happy we chose Idlewild! Would not change a single thing about our day- it was perfect! Check out their packages and all they have to offer!

I cannot say enough about what a great experience we had with Idlewild but I’ll list just a few Planning- they made the process so easy start to finish! They have coordinators that work with you and help think of details I would’ve easily forgotten on my own. Budget- We had a BIG wedding on a budget. They respected that and helped us stick to it by focusing on what was most important to us. Venue-it is gorgeous and needed very little decoration. I heard so many compliments about the space alone Also, there are great outdoor spaces for pictures. Food- So delicious! They have unique options you won’t find everywhere else that actually taste good. I could go on and on, but I highly recommend idlewild. If I could do it again I would choose them without hesitation!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day and evening. The outdoor ceremony was the perfect setting and with the beautiful backdrop of the trees and the creek we didn't feel we needed any type of arbor at all.The room was transformed for our reception and every attention to detail was exactly what we wanted. Although we couldn't have imagined how stunning the room looked! The food was incredible and we are still hearing that it was the best wedding dinner ever. Idelwild is the perfect venue for a wedding reception! I had my daughter's wedding reception at Idelwild in 2004 and when I planned my wedding for this Spring I immediately chose Idelwild. Peter is very knowledgeable and accommodating. The Country Club offers an elegant atmosphere as well as excellent food, professional staff, and reasonable pricing. Peter and Jen made my wedding reception a beautiful day I shall always cherish.

We enjoyed having our reception at Idlewild. The food was delicious (and very reasonably priced) and the space itself (both indoors and outdoors) was lovely. \r\rWorking with Jen, the event coordinator was easy and worry-free. She was great about communication and taking care of details. \r\rThe staff did a great job of making the dining room look elegant for our wedding. They accommodated our request for a dessert table very well. \r\rWe had no need for a wedding planner or coordinator because Idlewild takes care of everything. We'd hold our reception here again and would encourage others to do so as well!

I wish I could pick 6 stars versus only 5! My husband and I are extremely grateful to Jen and Peter for making our wedding weekend better than we could have ever imagined! Pre-wedding prep started in January, and Jen was always quick to respond to my emails and calls. The food tasting was such a treat - similar to other reviews Chef Jeff and his team are just amazing! Idlewild also has great vendor recommendations from Garrett Design to Homewood Florists to Artlynn Photography. We had the ceremony rehearsal on Friday evening with a welcome party immediately following. With over 100 guests attending Friday I was concerned that it would feel like the wedding but Idlewild blocked off half of the room to create a perfect setting for our guests with food stations and open bar. Our guests had the best time and it was just the right way to start the weekend. The women's locker room is perfect for hair and make-up prep. Dela who manages the women's locker room went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and set-up the most wonderful lunch for us. She was an amazing support before the ceremony and offered very wise advice all day. We had an outdoor ceremony and the scenery is perfect - great for wedding pictures! Idlewild offers butler style champagne immediately following the ceremony and served the most delicious apps during cocktail hour which then lead to very sizable meals and wine throughout dinner. Our reception was amazing and everyone said that they had never experienced such service and had better food at a wedding. We danced all night until 12:30am when the last Aries shuttle arrived. Jen and Peter were there throughout the weekend handling every detail, and we are extremely appreciative for their support and commitment to making it the most memorable weekend. Thank you also to the Idlewild staff and everyone who was involved! Highly recommend Idlewild Country Club and their team!

It's large enough to accommodate our family and friends, but not so large or broken up too make tables feel too far in the back or off to the side. In fact, they are still talking about it 2 months later. They are also very helpful, we were able to work with Jen to find a package that fit our budget. Speaking of Jen, she was really great to work with. Any question, any concern, any change were answered and handled quickly. She made sure the night went perfectly and I am so grateful having her help us throughout the process. The night was perfect and I could not be happier of the space. A big bonus: you are the only event of the night! That's key, especially when you are getting married during the busy months when there are other weddings and proms on the same weekend.

Idlewild keeps their costs down, but offers exceptional service. We received numerous compliments about how delicious the food was and our guests absolutely loved the club. One of the best parts of my day was getting ready with my 11 bridesmaids in the locker room. We had an amazing afternoon sipping on mimosas and eating a delicious light lunch. Jen was extremely flexible with accommodating our requests and made me feel so relaxed. I was the happiest bride on my wedding day. Everything went smoothly without any hiccups. Oh and the photos from our outdoor ceremony were absolutely beautiful!!! I highly recommend this venue to any couple who want an affordable wedding with great food, service and an amazing wedding planner by your side every step of the way. I am so grateful to Jen and all of the staff for making our wedding such a special day.

I had many people compliment the meal and general service. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Since Idlewild has one room per evening, there is a true sense of care and personal attention to the wedding party and guests. We felt so special.\r\rThe night went smoothly, and Jen was working behind the scenes with our DJ to make sure all transitions were smooth and clear.\r\rI loved our wedding reception and I would recommend Idlewild to anyone who asks.
