Indiana Statehouse Atriums Reviews
Sydney T(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2018 Price point was very good. Venue is exceptionally classy and beautiful. Planning process is very easy. The only downside is you cannot have the reception/food there so it requires a second venue if you want to go that route. Over all, our experience with the statehouse was wonderful. This was the most beautiful venue for a ceremony. The spots fill up so fast so I’m glad we were able to get our date in. Our guests talked about how beautiful it was. We had a harpist and it sounded lovely in the atrium. It was a dream come true. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place to say We do! Reviewed on 26-08-2018
Peter Harper(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-04-2018 Easy to work with. Great communication. Seamless during the day of the wedding. Reviewed on 23-05-2018
Samantha Simpson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-03-2018 The staff was very helpful and pretty much let us do whatever we wanted. MOST IMPORTANTLY-- the pictures are MAGNIFICENT. The warm lighting and the beauty of the building made every single photo breathtaking. Reviewed on 23-05-2018
Paolo Repetto(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-05-2018 This venue was absolutely the most perfect ceremony venue! We got so many incredible pictures and comments about the beauty of the building and wedding. I highly recommend booking this venue! You hardly need any decorations to have a gorgeous wedding. Also, Tracy, the event planner, was very incredibly easy to work with. Efficient and clear in communication. Reviewed on 21-05-2018
Alex-Ann Holland(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-12-2017 A seriously stunning venue that needs little to no help being wedding-day ready - just look up a few pictures!! The price is perfect as well. Tracy and Ned were super helpful with our questions & requests. I highly recommend! Reviewed on 26-01-2018
David P(groom)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-03-2019 The Capitol Building was fantastic for our ceremony. I'd been in a friend's wedding here several years before and knew it was a beautiful venue. The price was a very good value, and the building is historic and grand. The people we worked with good. There are certain rules due to the historic and (obviously) governmental nature of the building which you have to work with, but you can do a lot here. We were able to choose from several different setup options. We had a pianist and guitarist doing the music, and audio setup was very straightforward. There was someone on-site for rehearsal and the ceremony in case we had questions/issue, but nothing major came up. The music sounded great, we got some outstanding photos, and the ceremony went off without a hitch, which is more than we could ask for! Reviewed on 23-01-2018
Amanda Via(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2017 The space was absolutely beautiful! And it was also the most cost effective. It was so majestic. The staff were really nice and easy to work with. Our only issue was that the chairs were already set up for another wedding that weekend and my guest had to walk by someone else wedding to get to the south atrium. Reviewed on 14-11-2017
Jen Smedley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2017 I would 100% recommend the Statehouse as a ceremony venue. The event staff at the Statehouse were wonderful and very accommodating. On my wedding day, the Statehouse was so beautiful and everything went so smoothly. All of my guests were wowed at how beautiful the place was and how perfect the venue was for our elegant, classy wedding. I would definitely recommend as a venue for wedding ceremonies. Note that I only had my ceremony here and had my reception somewhere else. Reviewed on 19-06-2017
Lavonna Thomas(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-01-2017 A seriously underrated indoor ceremony venue! Inexpensive in comparison to other venues and requires minimal decorating! Definitely recommend, especially if you love historical buildings. It's beautiful. Reviewed on 07-02-2017
Haley Hilts(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2016 This venue is magical. No decorations are needed at all! We put glower pieces down the aisle and then a simple branch arch with candles hanging that didn't fight the architecture. People were great to work with, even though it was hard for me to visualize what the day would look like. You just have to trust them because the flow was great and sound worked out well. The only complaint I have is that a janitor was working on an upper level and making very loud noises. People made notice of this, but if that's the worst thing then I would call it a perfect ceremony :) The sendoff by the stairs worked out perfectly as well. I am big on flow and guests knew where to go with the staff and my personal attendants. The feel is similar to the library where Carrie gets married in Sex & the City. I am proud that we got married at Indiana's State House. It was the best day of my life! Reviewed on 31-10-2016
Curtis Flowers(groom)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2013 The statehouse was a beautiful venue and pics came out wonderful...but the whole experience felt rushed. We planned a cocktail reception after the wedding, and after the ceromony and cocktail reception, we were rushed out and our guess were pushed out to the parking lot because someone booked 3 events in the same day.\r\rParking was another complaint. Since there is a time block, your guest will not be able to access the building or parking lot until your block starts. Catering and vendors cannot access either. This is a big inconvience. Reviewed on 18-06-2013
Cindy Burres(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-04-2013 Beautiful! Chairs, tables, sound equipment and stage were all provided. Because the building is so old and ornate, the only decorations I used were bows on the chairs and an aisle runner. Reviewed on 07-05-2013
Alexis Arenz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-10-2012 This is honestly one of the most GORGEOUS places you can get married in Indianapolis! Everyone was talking about how beautiful it was. You will not even need to decorate because the building's natural beauty is breath taking as it is.\r\rWorking with Tracy was a delight as well. She is very fast about getting back to you if you have any questions Reviewed on 08-11-2012
Brittany Zimny(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2012 The Indiana Statehouse Atrium was a beautiful place to have our wedding ceremony. We received so many compliments. From the marble floors to the columns, it was absolutely perfect. Tracy, the event coordinator, is great to work with! It is also is a very affordable ceremony location for downtown Indianapolis. The Statehouse Rotunda is an incredibly gorgeous venue and you get a lot of bang for your buck! Everyone at our wedding thought we spent at least twice as much as we did when we booked the Rotunda. Tracy is amazing to work with and gave me so much help! Ned, the site manager, had our entire ceremony set up 24 hours before so we could change anything we needed to (although we didn't need to).\rThe only \"negative\" I would say is that you have to be very well organized / have a wedding coordinator or trusted friend to handle logistics because absolutely everything is DIY. It's not like a church where you have a lot of things as a given from the start. If you want linens you need to rent them yourself, if you want candles you need to provide them yourself, there are a limited number of microphones, etc. There is not a private place for your wedding party to hang out, either. And you must get ready elsewhere because the bathrooms are tiny and not well lit. But none of those things will be a problem if you plan in advance and know what to expect! We were 100% happy with the Statehouse Rotunda and are SO glad that we were married in such a gorgeous, historic venue! Reviewed on 18-06-2012
Jaimie Cairns(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2011 I loved this venue. The people at the state house are easy to work with and it's a very affordable venue. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a non-church venue. Reviewed on 15-11-2011
