Absolutely stunning venue: the views and location cannot be beat. The entire property is immaculate- beautiful flowers and of course the lake front. Mallory was a joy to work with on catering and logistics and the event went off without a hitch. Everyone raved how it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I can confidently say that was due to the location. The Inn went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect and made the day extra special.

We recently had our wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor (where we also got engaged!). Due to restrictions and uncertainty during the pandemic, we decided last minute to postpone our big Chicago wedding and hold a small ceremony and dinner with immediate family here. We are so thrilled we made this decision, and our special day ended up being better than we ever could have imagined. Tina was such a joy to work with. She was extremely attentive to our needs, even with such a small wedding, and helped us accomplish our vision on a tight timeline. She was so sweet, fun, patient, flexible, detail-oriented, and made us feel so special. We are so appreciative of everything she did to make our day stress-free, seamless, and perfect!

We recently had our wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor (where we also got engaged!). The staff at Inn at Bay Harbor exceeded my expectations for service and quality. The wedding coordinator, Carly, was extremely adept at the planning and execution of our event. She is enthusiastic and experienced; a great combo when you are under \"pressure\" to put on a fun event. The setting is like no other and our guests absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and I found it all to be a very good value. They were very willing to honor all requests, too. Honestly, I think it is the best venue for a wedding in this area.

We had our wedding ceremony on the lawn at the Inn at Bay Harbor. Tina was our coordinator there and she went above and beyond. She made sure every detail was perfect. She did the necessary preparations that week and was present during the ceremony. This location is by far the most beautiful in Northern Michigan for a wedding ceremony, our photographer who works primarily in Northern Michigan agrees that is the best location. Our guests were able to enjoy the view and have a drink while we did photos. Then we moved a few miles down the road to the Bay Harbor Golf Club for dinner and a small reception. The Bay Harbor Golf Club has even more spectacular views for a dinner reception as it is a second level room with a wrap around patio and glass railing. Absolutely breathtaking sunset. Our guests all asked us how we were able to arrange such a beautiful wedding. We were very blessed to have this venue and the photos are unbelievable! Highly recommend this location. We had a small wedding with 49 guests.

The Inn was an amazing place to get married. The staff (especially Tina) was extremely helpful and so nice during planning our wedding and stay there. We had our wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor two days ago and we are still on cloud nine from the whole experience. The views are stunning, the service is impeccable, and the food is delicious. We worked with the hotel event coordinator, Tina, to help us plan our day. She was excellent and detail oriented all through the planning process and made us feel at ease on the days leading up to the wedding. On our wedding day she made sure everything was perfect and even helped me bustle my dress when my family was having trouble! We had an amazing wedding at the Inn. The location is gorgeous and our guests had a wonderful time exploring Northern Michigan. We had a bit of rough time with our room block - guests weren't always able to book rooms that were open. However, the Inn and Jaclyn always provided excellent customer service to fix these issues when they would arise. The great service from the staff, both at the hotel, and during our reception, was something that numerous guests commented on. I also specifically want to call out Tina for her incredible support as event/venue coordinator. This was her first wedding season at the Inn and she was wonderful to work with. We planned our wedding from Arizona and we emailed her countless times with questions and thoughts and she was great at getting back to us or providing her own input. She helped make sure that the day-of was executed flawlessly. She went above and beyond to ensure that we had leftover food (which was so tasty!) and cake in our room at the end of the night. I would highly recommend the Inn - our guests are still telling us how awesome it was!

We are regular patrons of the Inn at Bay Harbor. The staff is great...you will not be disappointed!! For this particular occasion we used services from the Spa and Wedding Event Food Services, both Tina and Trisha we excellent to work with. They both were professional, timely in answering phone calls, emails and helpful in making any changes that were needed. We had a wonderful spa experience and the box lunches were delicious, well presented and available to pick up at the time designated. The front desk was also very helpful in making sure that our guests received their wedding welcome gift, even though our main event was elsewhere. We have nothing but good things to say about the staff and services. Plus, you can’t beat the location it is beautiful.

The Inn at Bay Harbor was incredible. Everyone was always very friendly, easy to contact, and professional. The staff went out of their way to make our dream wedding a reality. Our coordinator made sure every detail was discussed beforehand and on the day of our wedding my husband and I did not have to worry about a thing. There was every attempt to make our day special and memorable from all members of the staff. I have not heard one complaint from our guests even now 6 months later. The hotel itself is beautiful and nothing compares to the sunsets over Lake Michigan. I would highly recommend the Inn for any event but especially for a wedding!!

I cannot say enough good things about the Inn at Bay Harbor. From the beginning they were amazing. I was planning a wedding from 4 hours away and they did everything they needed to do by phone conversation or email. The day of the wedding they made sure we had everything we needed and set up and tore down the reception area. I didnt have to worry about a thing and being the bride that was a tremendous help. The service during dinner was amazing and the food was exceptional. They made sure my husband and I had Everything we needed from drinks to more food. The overall experience was just tremendous. I would definitely have my wedding there again in a heart beat!

We had our wedding at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club - but got our hair, makeup, and had most of our guests stay here for our wedding weekend July 6-8. We also had our Sunday farewell brunch there. Our wedding was at the tail end of the 4th of July week - which is usually the busiest time of the year for the Petoskey area. The Inn at Bay Harbor were so accommodating, friendly, and great to work with - you wouldn't have even guessed that they had a crazy week. Our guests had such an amazing time there - there is so much to do at the Inn & the views are unbeatable. We even spent an extra night there on a \"mini moon\" where we got fun treats delivered by hospitality. Spa/Hair/Makeup: I had 12 hair appointments booked for the morning of our wedding & 11 makeup appointments - and the ladies did an AMAZING job. We were able to select a pandora music station, drink complimentary mimosas, and have so much fun together while getting pampered. Not to mention everyone looked seriously amazing for the wedding. I had Morgan as my hair stylist, and Melissa for my makeup, and they both mastered the exact style I wanted for the wedding day. Throughout the planning & trials they worked with me to get the look I wanted. Would highly recommend the Inn in general to stay at, or for the spa. Had so much fun and loved our time there.

Our wedding coordinator, Katy, was absolutely amazing and helped turn our day into everything we could have dreamed of. She was fantastic to work with leading up to the wedding through emails and phone calls. She helped with even the smallest details on the day of the wedding. I couldn't have felt more relaxed and was able to enjoy the entire day. The winter views of the lake from the Sagamore Room (our reception) were wonderful. All of our guests had a fantastic time and got great pictures with amazing views! Highly recommend booking your wedding here!

I’m not sure where to start with this review. My experience working with the Inn at Bay Harbor was awful. From having 3 different event coordinators, to ugly chairs mandated despite having all marketing materials with beautiful white chairs, to incorrect billing, to lack of responses, to ZERO resolution and guest services, it was a nightmare. And ended in tears. The GM of the hotel, Mike Costello, who I turned to because all of the women in the events department could not assist me without his approval, was as arrogant and disrespectful as I’ve ever encountered. Having previously worked for both the Ritz Carlton (Marriott) and St. Regis (Starwood/Marriott) I am appalled and the lack of quality and care given to guests. Especially ones spending $40,000 or above. Honestly, he could care less and the women who work with him, tip toe around the fact and apologize for it. It’s a disgrace. If you are a bride who can plan, manage, train, and handle accounting for your own wedding and are okay with paying for those services even though you won’t get any of them, maybe you can make this work. $5,000 discrepancies in the bill. Incorrect tracking and accounting throughout. Zero follow up on first request. On average took multiple emails/calls to get something.I ended up in tears almost every week in the month leading up to my wedding because of failures and horrific service standards. IT IS EASY TO PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE. That is what hospitality is. They provide guest service and that meant nothing to them. Despite being the most important day of my life thus far. I had to hire a wedding planner for the last month (add $10,000) to make up for the gaps in the Inn’s service, execution, and follow through. Bottom line, It’s not worth it. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Sure the view is beautiful, but SO much more goes into make this day successful and special, and that will be missed. The Inn has good and kind people working there. But with such appalling leadership at the very top, maybe it was foolish to expect those under him to fall far from the tree. I run conferences for a consulting company now and I work with hotels constantly in NYC- it is less expensive and better service from a 3 star 500 room hotel in NYC. Don't do it.

I’m not sure where to start with this review. My experience working with the Inn at Bay Harbor was awful. From having 3 different event coordinators, to ugly chairs mandated despite having all marketing materials with beautiful white chairs, to incorrect billing, to lack of responses, to ZERO resolution and guest services, it was a nightmare. And ended in tears. The GM of the hotel, Mike Costello, who I turned to because all of the women in the events department could not assist me without his approval, was as arrogant and disrespectful as I’ve ever encountered. Having previously worked for both the Ritz Carlton (Marriott) and St. Regis (Starwood/Marriott) I am appalled and the lack of quality and care given to guests. Especially ones spending $40,000 or above. Honestly, he could care less and the women who work with him, tip toe around the fact and apologize for it. It’s a disgrace. Kayaking at the resort was overpriced and a bit of a logistical mess. We attempted to have a nice dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort, there were more flies in the restraint than servers. While we were out one day, our cooler was moved into the hallway, we suspect by the cleaning staff and then confiscated. When my husband went to the front desk to inquire about its location, the attendant made it seem like it was our fault and that we left our cooler in the hallway. I can assure you we didn’t. It was returned to us but again, not without making us feel like we did something wrong. Our best experience was at the Cabana Bar. Christian, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing day. There was a nice bike path that leads you to Petoskey and beyond. We highly recommend bringing your bikes. Overall, the Inn at Bay Harbor was a very family oriented resort, so if you are looking for a romantic getaway, I would look elsewhere. We will not be returning to The Inn at Bay Harbor.

I had a love/hate relationship with this venue. The location was beyond beautiful, but I'm not sure the price and hassle was worth it. I was not impressed by the wedding planner. She forgot about one of our appointments (I live 4 hours away), the wedding party accommodations were not what i asked, there were multiple errors on the invoice and family complained about her being rude. Again I drove 4 hours to be there. She was able to squeeze me in after I had to rearrange cake tastings. My makeup was horrible even after showing the women a picture to follow. When i told the salon manager that i had a bad experience all she said was sorry. It wasn't until i told her i was going to use a different salon she offered to give me a discount on the wedding day. I still went to a different salon. In the end the day turned out perfect but there was a lot of added work.

The venue and location on Lake Michigan was absolutely stunning and made the guests go \"WOW\" and the photos were spectacular. However, I was not once asked what I thought they could have done better because I did have some suggestions. The Wedding Coordinator I was assigned, quit a week before my wedding and we had to meet with the new Coordinator 5 days before the wedding which was not her fault but going over the fine details was not exactly what I wanted to do 5 days before my wedding. Just plan on conducting your own rehearsal. I would have been better prepared had I known this. Lastly, if you want lights setup on the Terrace let them know ahead of time. They decided to set them up as my mom was giving a welcome toast so there was a ladder directly behind us while that was going on and when the photographer asked him to move he was completely rude- needless to say the lights didn't get put up and it took him a good 5 minutes to move his ladder out of the shot. They don't let you have early check in, so I wasn't able to check in until late due to my rehearsal, so I was stuck with the worst room in the hotel right across from the café which is loud. You would think if you are spending that kind of money at a venue that they would reserve you a better room? The front desk staff are not helpful, they always seem frazzled so don't count on them for help. Overall, beautiful venue but be prepared for not so great staff. If I could do it again I would have had it at the same venue but hired a wedding planner.

One of the best features of The Inn at Bay Harbor is that you can have your ceremony outside and reception inside. However if it rains, there is a great back up plan. Many other venues we looked at had to completely change the feel and set up of the wedding, if there was rain. We love this resort- have been there multiple times to vacation and were excited to have our wedding there. The location was fantastic and our pictures were amazing- ceremony right by the water. \rOur Service was terrible!! The wedding planner they \"assigned\" to our wedding was rude, disorganized and scatter brained! I could not believe that was her job and she was getting paid to be that bad. I did complain to her boss right from the beginning- which did not help anything.\rShe also attempted to over charge us on our bill by $4,000!!!!! If i wasn't paying attention and second guessing everything she did- we would have paid $4,000 more!\rTHIS venue and staff made this the MOST STRESSFUL part of my wedding! I would NOT choose this place again if i could do it all over!

My daughter just got married this Saturday at the Inn of Bay Harbor in a beautiful lakeside lawn ceremony with her reception at Sagamore's, the lawn and the tented deck. We had been planning it for 1 1/2 years and have had nothing but positive experiences from sales (Brie - WONDERFUL), event planner (MEGAN - AWESOME) to the service staff at the actual wedding (PROFESSIONAL).\r\rIf you are considering it, you need to go up on a weekend and watch an actual wedding from afar. Stay at the hotel or the lakeside cottages and get a feel for the place. Everything else pales in comparison. The setting itself is so beautiful and breathtaking that you feel like you are in a fairy tale. Every guest that attended could not stop talking about it. It was truly magical.\r\rAlso, I have never heard so many compliments on the food that was served. It was definitely 5 star. \r\rWe plan on coming up every year to celebrate the wonderful day! The only complaint we had was that we had to leave!!\r\rInn at Bay Harbor - class act!!!

The Inn at Bay Harbor is the perfect place to get married. The Hotel and location is absolutely beautiful. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. It was a destination wedding for everyone in attendance and I was a little nervous about planning from far away.
