We had an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at the Jacob Henry Mansion. I loved that it’s a family business and working with Sue was a dream. I used all preferred vendors so I didn’t even need a day of coordinator because Sue and her daughters took care of everything. The Old Central Church is gorgeous and there are so many places on the grounds for great pictures! It was so easy to get married in the church, take photos before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour, and then move to the reception. I loved that my guests just had to drive to one place and then just move from room to room for each event as it’s all connected. The food was fantastic, I actually ate so much of my dinner I was too stuffed for my dessert table! Overall, I would highly recommend this venue. My mom even mentioned that I looked so relaxed and happy in all my photos as the Jacob Henry had made it a stress free day.

If I ever got married again, I would book this place every time. It's absolutely gorgeous, the staff are wonderful, our coordinator Sarah was awesome, and they try to make everything as easy as possible. Any stress about the wedding melted away every time we spoke, because the workers at the venue just HAD IT down pat. They're so considerate and flexible, and patient. Book this venue if you know what's good for you. There are so many options and the people who work there will help your wedding go off without even a hitch.

Sue, Amanda, and their team were awesome from start to finish. This family of wedding planners knows what they are doing and will help you make your perfect day a reality. Amanda was always there to run ideas by and gave guidance when needed. As a couple who did not hire a wedding planner, it felt like we had one with us every step of the way thanks to the dedication and passion of the Jacob Henry staff. Our guests thought the venue was beautiful and spacious, and the day went off without a hitch.

I cannot express how incredible JHM was for our wedding. It is beautiful, they worked so so well with us, and the staff is incredible. I dealt with some extreme tragedies days before my wedding and Sue and Sarah were absolute heroes. The willingness to accommodate anything we needed - even moving our wedding - was unreal. The compassion and love they showed made the day better than I could have imagined.They are worth every penny and I absolutely love them! Thank you for making our wedding so incredible!!

She was AMAZING in every sense. The staff at the venue were all friendly and efficient. We were very grateful that nothing went wrong whatsoever. Had our wedding at Jacob Henry this past weekend, and it's still surreal how perfect it was. We had to move our original date due to Covid concerns, and JHM was so awesome and flexible that they allowed us to move it and also have an elopement there on our original date. The elopement last year went perfectly and so did our wedding. I'm not the most organized person, so having Amanda as our coordinator through the venue was so necessary in ensuring that things went smoothly. She was always willing to give us tips and opinions and was awesome throughout the whole process of us planning our wedding. On the day of, she ensured that everything happened exactly how it was supposed to, and I'm still in awe of how it all came together especially with some last minute changes. She always stayed cool, calm, and collected. Also the food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests were raving about it. The beautiful property I couldn't get over either, which includes a church, a cocktail room, a bar room, a ballroom, and a gorgeous outside area with a sprawling porch with rocking chairs, a fountain, and a gazebo. Most venues we researched were AT LEAST 2-3x as expensive as JHM for what we got there, and I'm still not sure how we got so lucky to find them. Best decision we made was having our wedding there! ❤️

From the Father of the Bride...I can not say too many great things about the Mansion and the staff. It's a perfect one-stop shop: the church is beautiful and historic, the mansion is dazzling, and the reception hall is one of the best wedding venues I';ve experienced. I received several compliments about the venue, food and drink, and that the service was top-notch. The staff was extremely helpful, going above and beyond. We had some hiccups due to COVID, but they helped us through it all. I would highly recommend the Jacob Henry Mansion.

We had our ceremony and reception here. Amanda did amazing with helping us find vendors and answer our questions. During rehearsal, some of my family got stuck in traffic but Amanda was able to calm my nerves and we got through it. On the day of, Amanda and the staff were always there to help. The food was absolutely amazing. We still have family members even now in October tell us how much fun they had, how awesome the food was and what a great time they had!

The Jacob Henry Estate is the perfect wedding venue in my opinion! The location itself is beautiful! We loved that fact that everything could be all in one spot, no commuting for us or our guests. At a lot of venues, the ceremony space seemed like an afterthought, which we didn't want. Here, we were able to get married in the gorgeous Old Central Church! Honestly, as soon as we first stepped into the church, I was sold that this would be our venue! It just gave me chills and was so beautiful! We also had the option to get married in their gardens where there a beautiful large structure and a patio-paved aisle; we did take advantage of that space for some pictures! So between the church, the garden, and the grounds itself, there were plenty of stunning spots to capture pictures! No need to go to another site. And we were able to have cocktail hour in its own room, which was really nice; it wasn’t just squeezed in anywhere.We worked with Amanda, and she was wonderful! She was so kind and answered any question we had. And they were very understanding throughout the pandemic and flexible as we moved through, I believe, five different dates! I heard some brides having a terrible time during this, so I thank my stars that we chose Jacob Henry. I never had to worry with them!Amanda and the whole Jacob Henry team went above and beyond to make our wedding a beautiful memory! She and the team decorated-even shuffling lanterns between the church and reception space during cocktail hour, served dinner, and kept the timeline of the day running smoothly. I knew the day would be beautiful, but with the extra touches that Amanda added, she went above and beyond the call, and made the day even more perfect! I am so thankful to her! The food was also phenomenal!! We went with family style and included pot roast, chicken milano, and alfredo pasta. Our guests have raved about the food! It is so delicious and definitely not just standard wedding food!I recommend the Jacob Henry Estate whole-heartedly!! Your day will be phenomenal!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony here in May and, despite it being an intermittent rainy day, Sue excelled at ensuring everything else within her control ran perfectly smooth for us. My heart was set on having an outdoor ceremony, and Sue made it happen. We didn’t find out until after the fact that she even had little helpers running around to help wipe down the chairs so our guests had dry seats. My 2-year-old niece was our flower girl, and I noticed how soft-spoken, patient, and understanding Sue was in preparing my niece to walk down the aisle despite having just had a “terrible two” breakdown minutes prior. Sue is truly an asset to the Mansion, and we will always remember her fondly for being so great with us and our family on our big day.

The Jacob Henry Mansion Estate is an amazing place to have your wedding and reception! The staff is simply incredible and even amongst the chaos of navigating COVID they were able to give my husband and I the wedding of our dreams! The staff is incredibly friendly and beyond accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure very little detail was as we envisioned it and even placed and packed up our centerpieces and decorations for us! We were also able to host our rehearsal dinner in the mansion and it was a truly wonderful evening with great food and great atmosphere! I would highly recommend Jacob Henry!

Love, Love, Love this place!! From the beauty of the venue, to the outstanding service provided by the wedding planners, we were SO happy with our decision to get married here! We got married near Christmas time, and the Mansion and Ballroom were beautifully decorated with holiday decor. There were tons of gorgeous photo ops throughout the mansion, courtyard, ballroom, and church. It is a perfect all-in-one location. The day went off without a hitch thanks to the coordination by the wedding planners, who really are the best in the business! Wish I could give more stars!

The Jacob Henry Mansion is the best! We got married this July on the hottest day of the year and you would have never known inside the church and the mansion. Everyone worked so hard to keep the place cool and make everyone comfortable including the bridal party and the guests. They thought of everything. From the rehearsal to the wedding, every detail was perfect. We also got the most gorgeous photos inside and out of the buildings. Such a great place and so well run and executed. We are so grateful for everyone there!

Being from the Joliet area and knowing the Bornhofen/Pritz family, it was simply natural for my husband and I to have our wedding reception in the JHM’s Victorian Ballroom. Family means everything to them. Sue, Anne, Sarah, Amanda, and all the staff flawlessly made our reception beautiful, special, and fun. We would highly recommend booking any and all events through the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate.

We worked with Anna for our wedding. She was great to work with. She would answers our emailed questions in a day or two. She was very helpful on the day of the wedding - helping to move decorations from one place to another area. The food was tasty, and came out quickly for our guests. They also cater to people that have diet restrictions, which was wonderful. We used the Old Central Church and Jacob Henry Mansion. Both are absolutely beautiful in pictures. We had a December wedding, so with the extra Christmas decorations, it made everything that much more magical. I have absolutely no regrets about having our wedding at the Jacob Henry Mansion

The moment I walked into the mansion I knew it had to be the venue I used. Every detail is so rich with history and immaculate. The wedding planning went smoothly and I had a great planner, Amanda, to keep up with my deadlines which was amazing because I'm a procrastinator. They also have a large amount of décor that you can utilize for an extra charge which was a life and money saver. During rehearsal there was a misunderstanding about which rooms were to be used for the wedding and Sue came through and saved my dream wedding with her kindness and quick thinking (I misread the contract). I cannot thank the ladies of the mansion enough for making my day go amazing and keeping us on track. They were there to assist with everything I needed but still remained in the background so that it looked like I knew what I was doing, LOL. They offered great suggestions and vendors based on their previous experiences and that saved me quite a few headaches. There are so many great places to take pictures and now I have some of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen hanging on my walls. My family and I received SO MANY compliments. They were convinced I had 50k+ wedding and that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever seen, and they meant it! If I had to get married again, I would absolutely pick this venue every time.

Me and my husband got married at the Jacob Henry Mansion 4/28/18. This was the first venue we looked at and we knew immediately we were going to book with them. First of all, the ballroom is absolutely stunning. It is such a beautiful ceremony and reception site. And second, it is family run and that family is amazing to work with. They helped my husband and I every step of the way from finding different vendors to knowing what our vision was for our special day and making sure it was the best day for us. When we started planning with them, we were working with Amanda. She was the nicest person and made us feel like we were a part of the family. She was so accommodating and mindful of what we wanted to spend. She made sure that we had everything we ever wanted. She contacted us throughout the entire planning process making sure we had booked our vendors and had our invitations set. She ended up giving birth a few weeks before our wedding so we missed her for our actual day but luckily because this place is family owned, her mother Sue took over(but we made sure to take a picture with Sue to send to her!Amanda was even texting Sue making sure our day was perfect still—RIGHT after she gave birth a few days before). Sue was so amazing as well. We met with her a few days before our wedding to go over rehearsal, vendors, timing, and decor. I let her do her own thing with the decor that I brought because I knew she would be much better at it than I would and boy was I right! During our wedding day, Sue made sure that everything ran smoothly she watched the entire wedding and made sure there were no mishaps! Before the ceremony, she made sure all the guys had their boutonnières on correctly and then she took every single phone from all of the wedding party to make sure that no phones would ring during the ceremony. Before I walked out, she even pulled the huge train from my dress and made sure it was perfect. They are such an amazing family to work with and this was out of every vendor we worked with, the absolute best. They went above and beyond with everything and they made our wedding day so special for us! I am still receiving so many compliments about the Jacob Henry Mansion from our guests telling us how beautiful it was and how amazing the food was. They also tell us that our wedding was the BEST wedding they have ever attended! The nice thing is that everything is in one place so guests only have to travel once! We enjoyed our experience with the Jacob Henry Mansion for our wedding ceremony and rehearsal dinner. The wedding ceremony was in the gorgeous Old Central Church. We worked with Sarah throughout the whole process and the only criticism I would have is that if we ever had a question about anything, we would call their office and always be told that they would \"let Sarah know\". It was almost like Sarah was the only person who had any clue about what was going on with our planning. It wasn't the worst thing in the world because Sarah was generally pretty prompt about replying (even in the midst of having a baby!), but it might have been nice to have all the staff know our situation and planning stage. As far as the day of, everything went very well as far as the venue was concerned. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that raised an eyebrow with regards to JHM. The only thing that was a slight inconvenience is that the lighting in the church is very, very poor. It was rather dark the entire time, but the pictures came out fine. The venue is beautiful, the price is competitive, and you should definitely consider JHM!

Nearing our first anniversary and wishing we could do it over every year. We had been thinking things over for a while, but decided in October to get married by the end of the year. Jacob Henry was my first choice. I was attracted by the magnificent pictures of the church, and fell in love with the whole estate. Our contact, Amanda, was efficient, personable and knowledgeable. My fiance and I were both very impressed with her and the site. We opted for stationary hors d'oeuvres, soup, salad, pasta course (which we asked to be added) and sit down dinner of chicken milano and tenderloin with double baked potatoes. Everyone enjoyed it all. We were able to have a cupcake display by a home baker we know after we signed a release. The ceremony and the reception were both in the main mansion as we had just around 100 guests. There was also accommodation for music to be played. Amanda's calm and assuredness gave us confidence that the event would be magnificent, even in the short time until the day, 5 weeks from contract to showtime. The house was all dressed up for the Christmas holidays, so additional decor was not necessary. We would love to have another event there. It felt like home.

My fiancee and I were just married at the Jacob Henry Mansion and we could not have been more satisfied! The decor was beautiful, the venue was accommodating, and the staff was perfect. There's a chapel on site, so your reception is a minute's walk away from the ceremony.They have both a larger banquet hall and the mansion proper, but we went with the mansion since it fit better with our steampunk wedding theme.Both Susan and Anna were extremely helpful and the wedding was flawless.

We had our wedding ceremony here in October 2018. The manison itself is beautiful and the grounds are perfectly kept. We were able to get beautiful outdoor pictures. Amanda was our contact and she did an amazing job! She helped us make decisions and gave us helpful tips along the way. She was especially helpful during the rehearsal, thinking of every detail to go through to ensure our ceremony ran smoothly the day of. You won't be disappointed choosing the Jacob Henry Mansion!

The Jacob Henry Wedding Experience is what every bride dreams of the wedding and the wedding planning being! The staff was great to work with, responsive, supportive, gave great ideas! We literally dropped everything off for them the day before the wedding and when we arrived it was all set up and look perfect! they were very supportive when our shuttle broke down and adjusted the time table of the wedding to accommodate our delay and helped update guests as they arrived.All the other brides i have know, sister-in-laws and friends, have all had very stressful wedding planning and I truly believe mine was not stressful because of Jacob Henry. I highly recommend Amanda and her team!

THE BEST! MADE US FEEL LIKE FAMILY. The journey my husband and I had on the road to getting married wasn't easy - 3 weeks before our wedding he suffered a spinal cord injury and I was in panic mode when it came to anything wedding. Anna was the calm to my storm. As soon as she heard what happened she was on top of helping me in any way possible. She and Sue are truly angels. When we finally moved forward with plans to have our wedding nearly a year later, we picked up right where we left off without a misstep - Anna still had everything documented as originally planned and was ready to figure out what accommodations needed to happen so my husband was comfortable and we would have a day to remember and we certainly did! Anna and Sue took care of everything venue related - I conveyed my vision and they brought it to life so that all I had to do was walk down the aisle and live in the moment of that day. It was beautiful and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our day. Our guests raved about the unique venue, the food and the care and concern Anna and Sue not only showed us, but them as well. From our first meeting to the unthinkable to the day of our dreams, I felt like I was planning my wedding with family and there's truly no other way to put it - they feel like family . Clearly they've done thousands of weddings, but it's obvious it's something they enjoy doing and not just a job for them. I will recommend Jacob Henry over and over a million times. Your venue coordinators matter just as much as the venue itself - you can have a beautiful venue, but a disconnected coordinator and I guarantee your day will not go as planned - with Jacob Henry you get the whole package - good atmosphere, good food, good drinks and good people and what better things are there in life <3

We only toured one venue for our wedding, because after seeing the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate we were sure that was it! The space is absolutely beautiful and so unique. We really felt like we didn’t have to decorate that much because the space is so amazing already. We used the church and reception hall spaces, so our entire celebration could happen inside if necessary, which was great because it was a very chilly October day for our wedding day. There are some beautiful outside spaces where we went to take pictures, and where our guests could go to cool off after too much dancing. Sarah was our day of coordinator and did an amazing job. We were not asked one logistical question on our wedding day because she had everything figured out and running so smoothly! Through the planning process, Sarah was very responsive to emails and always willing to answer our questions.Our guests will be talking about the delicious food, great drinks, and beautiful space for weeks to come. What can I say about the Jacob Henry Mansion besides that it was the best wedding decision we could have made! From the very beginning, we received amazing service and help with planning. JHM truly puts in the time and cares about each wedding they host to ensure it is perfect. It was incredible working with a venue that puts as much care and concern into their work as Jacob Henry Mansion. They are professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and affordable. I never anticipated that planning would be so easy, but with the Mansion, the planning was thorough and extremely easy! We planned a wedding from 3 hours away (and still in college for some of it) and it was an absolute breeze! We got so many compliments on the unique and intimate venue of the Mansion, and I am so glad we chose to pursue a non-traditional venue. The staff on the day of the wedding were amazing and the day went off without a hitch. I would recommend Jacob Henry Mansion to anyone looking to have a stress free planning and wedding day! We are so glad that we did!!

The Jacob Henry Mansion was absolutely amazing in every way for our September wedding! First, the family who runs the venue is seriously incredible. Every single one of them treats you like their own family and will help you every step of the way. We mostly worked with Sarah, but had the pleasure of meeting all of the family members! From start to finish, Sarah helped us with every detail of the wedding and reception. They have great recommendations and will help you with any questions you may have. She gave us many suggestions to help our day run smoothly. Throughout the wedding and reception she was very attentive to detail and was constantly checking on my husband and I to make sure that everything was going exactly how we wanted it! The entire day ran so smoothly and if there were any hiccups during the wedding or reception, she fixed it before we even knew about it! Sarah and her family are the reason that our day went so perfectly at the venue! Second, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful and my guests loved that the wedding, cocktail hour and reception were all in one location. It's so convenient! The food was also delicious and I heard our guests loved it! We chose the family style dinner and the plates were constantly refilled so everyone had plenty. Every guest that I have talked to after the wedding has raved about our venue! I would highly recommend the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate to everyone! If you want an easy planning process, beautiful location and a venue that truly will do anything to make your day exactly how you want it, look no further! We were married 7/29/18 in the Chapel, cocktail hour in gathering room, reception in ballroom. JHM is a fantastic venue. Aside from being a beautiful venue and amazingly affordable, the family who owns and operate it have huge thoughtful hearts. We worked with Sue and her attention to detail and helpful suggestions were exaclty what we needed to organize our thoughts and pull off our special day. Additionally, Sue handled any and all hiccups with vendors/family seamlessly and with so much grace. She took all the pressure off of me as the bride and my family during the whole planning process and on the day. We are so thankful to have found JHM for our wedding day. Great food, clean, affordable, great staff, beautiful building and grounds, easy parking, the list goes on and on!!

This place is amazing! We worked with Sarah and she was wonderful; in fact everyone is very responsive and helpful! You bring your things and tell them how you want it set up that day (decorations and all) and they set it up for you! I could not have been happier with how everything looked. The food was also great. We did family style and they were always checking to make sure we were doing well. I heard so many comments from my guests about how good the food was and also how beautiful of a venue it was (great for awesome pictures!)! Perfect day in a perfect place! Highly recommend it!

The Jacob Henry Mansion is a family run venue and it truly shows in the best way! Amanda and her mother and the rest of the girls are truly amazing and we cannot thank them enough! Our wedding, down to every detail went exactly as my new husband and I had hoped. Amanda was there every step of the way to help us and guide us for this big day. The venue itself is beautiful. The property is set with a historic old home \"The Jacob Henry Mansion\" along with The Ballroom which has been renovated and is absolutely gorgeous. The Ballroom has attached a wedding chapel for those wanting a more traditional ceremony or you can have it outside in the gardens which is wonderful. I can't rave enough about this venue and anyone who chooses to have their wedding here will not regret it! I have not one bad thing to say. Thank you Amanda! :)

The entire planning process and day of went so smoothly! I could not have wished for anything more. They were always willing to please the bride and any requests that were asked. The venue is beautiful and has so many different aspects to it. The church was a beautiful set up for an intimate wedding, that still held a lot of guests. The staircase made for gorgeous bubble exit photos. The cocktail room was perfect for live entertainment and the guests loved the appetizers. The ballroom could not have been anymore magical. The entire evening ran smoothly from start to finish and the hosts and owner were always present and ready at act of needed. They kept our sweet and salty table full, they stole a few cupcakes for the bride and groom to take later, and they always made sure people had a great time. The photos we were able to take around the estate turned out amazing! There were also so many options of locations to take photos there. The food was amazing and we highly recommend letting them help you through the whole process. Over sixty people or more had stated that it was the best wedding they had been to and over ten people were stating how they were going to tell some other relative to get married there. Thank you so much Sue and to all of your daughters and employees for the best night of our lives! We really appreciate how personal you were with our wedding and entire process. You must get married here!!!

AMAZING!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the ladies at Jacob Henry. From the beginning of planning until the day of, they made everything so simple. Very responsive to all my emails and phone calls and made me feel like I was the only person getting married this year at the mansion! Our wedding was so beautiful with the venue being decorated for the Christmas holiday season. Every single guest had something positive to say about the location, the venue, the decorations, and the food. This is a little Gem of a place on the East side of Joliet, it truly feels like you are in a fairy tale here! Prices were extremely reasonable and they really work hands on with you from start to finish. So happy we chose Jacob Henry to start our lives together!!

My husband & I would (and have!) recommend the Jacob Henry Mansion to every couple we know!! My review will be long because I have lots of good things to say... but here is the short version:-Price: Reasonable-Food: Great!-Aesthetic: GORGEOUS-People: Amazing! Very easy to work with-Ease for Guests: Super convenient (all in one place, easy parking, etc.)Okay, now for the lengthier version... The venue is GORGEOUS. This was the first venue that we visited in our search and it ended up being the ONLY one. It is a hidden treasure. The moment we pulled up to the venue & saw the pretty courtyard and strung lights, we knew we wanted to get married at the JHM! It is SO convenient - the church is gorgeous and can hold many people. It is attached to a Gathering Room which is great for the cocktail hour. The Victorian Ballroom is their reception hall, which is also attached. This added convenience was amazing. We didn't use the actual mansion at all, but it is a really neat building. The grounds outside are beautiful - there is a fountain, a really pretty archway, and lots of flowers blooming in the summer. We took all the pictures we wanted right onsite and had a great variety. We got a ton of compliments on the venue. We served a choice of beef tenderloin and chicken oscar. The beef especially was a huge hit. One guest even said he thought it was the best beef he's ever had. We ordered our small cutting cake and our cupcakes through the venue, and both were great. We also had an open bar, which was very convenient. We did get multiple comments that one of the bartenders was rude, but it wasn't enough that I would knock down a star. The pricing of the JHM was very convenient, especially if you are having a lot of guests. Unless it's changed since our wedding (8/19/17), then it was just a minimum cost that you had to spend. The venue didn't actually charge a rental fee, but there was a minimum to spend there (it could include food, drinks, ceremony/reception decor and even tax/service charge). The minimum was very reasonable for the number of guests we had (~200). If you are wanting to have a very small wedding, then the minimum may be harder to achieve (or you'll just have to spend quite a bit per person to meet the minimum). Last, and arguably most important: Amanda was amazing! The whole venue is run by a woman and her 4 daughters. Amanda is one of the daughters and was with us through every part of the planning process. She was very open/helpful with the pricing and menu and we never felt like we were being squeezed for money. In fact, she helped us find ways to stay within our budget. Her knowledge of weddings and what brides/guests like is extremely useful. She offered to do so much for us - we dropped off the decorations the week of the wedding & she and her team took care of decorating everything! We didn't have to lift a finger. She even went so far as to tell us to bring frames with pictures in them & she'd just find places to fill in the reception with them. She was there on the day of our wedding and made the whole thing SEAMLESS. She basically acted as an onsite coordinator, ensuring we were all where we needed to be and that the vendors would know where to go. It realy allowed my husband and I, and even my family/bridal party, to not worry about much of anything except having a good time. I have 3 brothers and after my wedding they all mentioned that they'd love to get married here too! AMAZING experience with the JHM!

We had our reception here in the Victorian Ballroom and worked with Amanda and every step of the planning process Amanda was extremely helpful and professional. The grounds of the mansion are absolutely gorgeous and so well maintained and we stepped outside just at sunset to get a few gorgeous pictures but the inside was what wowed us. The ballroom was just so beautiful and our décor came together so beautifully with the aesthetic of the room. We couldn't have been happier with how everything had turned out on our big day and how all Amanda had helped all of our vendors work seamlessly together. We are forever grateful! If you are thinking of having your wedding at Jacob Henry, you will definitely be in good hands with this family owned business!

I picked the JHM because it was different from anything that my friends had done. The grounds are so beautiful and I have the best wedding photos around the various areas! Our planner, Anna, was so perfect. She nailed every detail,always had ideas and the day went as smoothly as possible. I got so many compliments after our wedding on how people loved the venue, the food, the staff and the overall scene of the ballroom and outside area. I would suggest this place to any bride, they literally did so much for me that I never has to worry about the venue at all. Thanks JHM for being the best!!!

I was booked for almost two years and the staff would take any and all questions I had and guided me to help make sure I had an amazing wedding day. The coordinators were amazing and I could not have had a more perfect wedding if it was not for them. The venue is absolutely breath taking with plenty of options for an onsite ceremony and reception. The price was super affordable and they spaced out all payments so it never felt like I was paying too much out of pocket. I cannot be happier with how my wedding went and would absolutely recomend them to everyone looking for the perfect wedding.

I have nothing but positive things to say about the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate and the family that owns it. My husband and I signed our contract over a year before our wedding date on July 22. In that timeframe, our wedding coordinator through the venue, Anna, was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She was in contact with us from day one, reaching out every so often to see how planning was going and if we had any questions. She was so quick to respond to any concerns I may have had and made me feel like her first priority! I am a total control freak when it comes to things like this, but I felt confident and comfortable letting go and trusted Anna and her staff to make my wedding day vision come to life. They exceeded every one of my expectations and I could not be any happier with how everything turned out! From the decor, to the food and drink, to the overall flow of the day, everything was flawless. This place is a well oiled machine and it is managed with class and compassion. We were married in The Old Central Church, which was able to accommodate all of our guests and is very beautiful inside and out. This was the perfect place for photos, too. One of the best parts about this venue is that you can do everything all in one place. We were married in the church, had our cocktail hour steps away, which led into our reception inside the Victorian Ballroom, which is also connected. The venue is so unique and charming with classic details throughout, like a fireplace, separate bar, stunning chandeliers, etc... We are still getting compliments on the food and the venue almost a month later. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind venue, helpful staff and adorable prices, this place is it. I wish we could do it all over again and I wouldn't have chanced a single thing! Thank you Anna and family for making our dream come to life!

I cannot say enough about the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate. I worked with Sue and Anna to make my wedding dreams come true. I felt at home after the very first time I viewed the place. I received a hug from Sue every time I walked in the door like I was her own family. This is a family owned business and it shows with how accommodating they are from planning to the bar tenders to the waitresses, all family and ALL amazing. Also, they gave me their opinion to make everything look perfect! My only qualm was the amount of wait time between emails could be a little nerve wracking but that's because I am high strung (haha!) and I did have to send an email or 2 a second time to get an answer. But this was the LEAST of my worries as my wedding day from minute 1 was PERFECT. We used the Church and Victorian Ballroom and the prices were very reasonable! The food...AMAZING! We have had so many people talk about the food. The waitresses even passed beverages to our family members & the head table during dinner when the bar was \"closed\" which was great! As the bride and groom we felt like family and that is all I could have ever asked for (and my dream wedding of course!).

Everyone on my wedding day kept telling me I was so clam and its because I knew I had nothing to worry about with it all in the hands of this amazing estate. From the hard work, to the picture perfect grounds, and amazing food, I have been told every single day multiple times a day since my wedding day how perfect, and beautiful, and amazing it was and how much fun everyone had. I can not say enough great things about this venue. My guests were completely amazed. While I think the Victorian Ballroom is beautiful, there is not a word to describe the mansion. The history, beauty, and elegance of the place speaks for itself. I did not have to decorate the place at all. All of my guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and it is 100% because of the mansion and the staff. The amount of weight that having Anna by my side the whole time took off of my shoulders is amazing. The morning of the wedding the ladies from the mansion honestly felt like friends. I only wish I had more time to thank them as my wedding day FLEW by. The mansion is beautiful but the staff is one of a kind itself. I couldn't be happier and having my wedding here was the best decision I made since saying YES!

Our youngest daughter got married outdoors here in June. What a beautiful event! Sue was attentive and flexible with our needs in every step from planning till the day itself. Having the church on property provided a great back up plan in case of inclement weather for an outdoor ceremony. Our reception was in the Grand Ballroom. Accommodations were made for guests with food allergies. We danced the night away on the large dance floor. So many compliments were received from guests about the beauty of the venue.

I could not be more pleased in choosing the Jacob Henry Mansion as the backdrop for my wedding. The staff was very flexible with planning and were always super helpful. I worked with Sarah and she was always pleasant quick to answer any question I had. One of the great things about the estate is that it not only has a beautiful historic mansion, but also a lovely church and pretty outdoor area. There are so many options that can really make your day special. I received several compliments on my choice of venue and it seemed to be a hit with everyone. My guest also greatly enjoyed the food! I would highly recommend the mini deep dish pizzas. My guests couldn't get enough! Overall I would have nothing negative to say about the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate. It was the perfect backdrop for such a special day.

For anyone dreaming of their perfect wedding & wants to avoid the traditional cookie-cutter-banquet-hall type experience (without breaking the bank), the Jacob Henry Mansion is exactly where you need to book! The Mansion, grounds, chapel, and Victorian Ballroom are all so picturesque and create the most amazing atmosphere for your big day. I first found JHM flipping through a catalogue with my mom and then hours later my then fiancé texted me their web address – fate? The moment we met Sarah and took a tour, immediately my husband and I knew we found the place. The chapel is gorgeous and the woodwork & stained glass windows provide a beautiful warm backdrop to your ceremony. We opted for a string quartet instead of the organ which created such a beautiful experience & the acoustics are fantastic. The Victorian ballroom is spacious enough to fit all 200+ guests, yet at the same time it felt very intimate and cozy. Don’t even get me started on the grounds. Your photos will be some of the most beautiful you have ever seen, along with inside the mansion if you get the chance. Everything has a vintage/ antique feel to it, which not only amplifies a romantic/ classic vibe, but what I loved MOST about the entire estate is that I hardly needed to do any additional decorating. The history and beauty speaks for itself, and kept my guests talking about our wedding location.We were lucky enough to work with Sarah & Amanda during our wedding planning experience. This place is family run and you get treated like family, not like a customer. As the past reviews have said, they go over the top to do anything you need, offer helpful advice ( think about it… they’ve done this hundreds of time, and you & I are only planning this once!) do all the set up/ break down for you and everything in between.The food is outstanding (Stuffed Chicken with Asiago cream & Salmon Penne (!!!))& they even went over the top to bake Funfetti cupcakes for our dessert since I am not a cake fan. (They were so delicious the morning after!)I could go on and on, but I hope this review along with the many others helps confirm your decision. You won’t be disappointed with Jacob Henry Mansion!

Me and my now husband booked an appointment with a few different mansion type places. Jacob henry being the first meeting and the last. We were blown away by the property. Sue who we meet with was very professional and informative. After booking them for the wedding they were always very involved with the planning. We met Amanda the daughter who took over for sue for our wedding and she was GREAT! Very accommodating and went above my expectations. We had ordered donuts for our reception and we weren't sure how we were going to pick them up prior to the ceremony. Amanda offered to pick them up for us. Our ceremony and reception went smooth and to me PERFECT. The food was awesome and so was the service. Everyone there is great to work with and I have been getting compliments from my guests on this venue. You won't regret picking this venue!

My Husband and I were married here on 07/15/16. Our ceremony was supposed to be in the gardens but unfortunately it was drizzling. Anna and the rest of the crew made me feel so calm and cool the entire time. I honestly felt like they were a couple of my bridesmaids. The night before, I dropped off my centerpieces and they had them perfectly displayed on all of the tables on my big day. My wedding was in the mansion which was so cool because guests are sitting throughout the house. It's very unique. Everyone raved about it being the best wedding they had ever been to. It was also the most reasonable and the food was amazing! They make everything in the kitchen at the mansion. I highly recommend it!!! The grounds of the mansion make for stunning photo ops as well!

EVERY SINGLE COUPLE SHOULD GET MARRIED HERE! We cannot say enough about how amazing our experience was -- From start to finish, we are over the moon and so thankful we choose Jacob Henry Mansion.We worked very closely with Amanda, who you might as well just call Superwoman! She made our day come together in the most amazing way... We can't thank her enough!At the tasting I ordered a few chicken/fish options. All were tasty, but they just didn't \"wow\" us. It's like Amanda knew and had an extra plate of Stuffed Chicken (yum) and Beef Tenderloin (double yum). We ended up using those two plates for our entree options and our guests RAVED about the Beef Tenderloin! I mean top-tier, absolutely delicious food!We opted for an open bar throughout the night and I can honestly say there was never a line... Ever! Our bartenders (part of the Jacob Henry team) were part of the party in the most professional sense. Both myself and my hubby, as well as all of our guests, LOVED them!Amanda and her team also did our aisle decorations and centerpieces for us. I'm a control freak so I was worried about how everything would turn out, but everything was BEAUTIFUL! My expectations were far exceeded. The amount of time and effort that the Jacob Henry Mansion team poured into our day seemed endless, and it took so much stress off of us. I felt 100% in control of the day, but I didn't feel like I was losing all my hair in the process.Oh and one of my favorite parts, Amanda even helped bustle my dress for me! It seriously was the BEST costumer service you could ever want! We had every question answered in a timely fashion (less than 24 hrs), and all of our requests were met... Every. Single. I can not say enough good things about the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate. Besides being a beautiful place with its vintage surroundings the staff goes over and above what is expected to make sure everything ran smoothly. Amanda was there during the rehearsal and through out the day of the wedding setting up all our decorations and directing every little detail. To top all this, we got nothing but compliments about the food (the pot roast melted in your mouth). Overall, it was a wonderful experience and would recommend this venue to anyone.

Amanda, her entire family, and staff are miracle workers! My sister used the Jacob Henry Mansion for her wedding and I knew immediately after seeing how wonderful Amanda was, this was the venue we wanted to use, as well. Amanda took our vision of our perfect day and made a dream become reality. She was extremely accommodating to all of our requests, especially when it came to any dietary restrictions that we had in our family. The food was delicious and all of the staff were very professional. Amanda was always available to talk either by phone or e-mail whenever we had a change of heart with ideas for the wedding, and she would graciously offer her suggestions as to what she thought would look and work better with the venue. On the day of the wedding, she made sure that everything and everyone was accounted for. It was refreshingly relaxing for it being the biggest day of our lives. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in the Chicagoland area. We have used it for my sister's wedding, my bridal shower, my wedding, and I will definitely come back again for future events!

Family oriented, personable, and extremely hospitable were 3 VERY important things I looked for and FELT when I sat down to discuss the Mansion as my possible wedding day venue. They sold me at family style dinner, and their affordable prices. After sitting down for my 6th venue visit, I was literally in shock when I heard all the things I would receive if I picked the Jacob Henry Estate! It seemed like a no brainer. There was always one more thing that Sarah and her staff said they could take care of when I made my requests. Their personal interest in me and my family made it even more less stressful! Genuine staff, breathtaking garden ceremony, and truly accommodating service! June 19, 2015 will forever be a day I remember:)

The venue is so beautiful, food is amazing, and environment makes for a beautiful and fun day. We were supposed to get married outside, but it was raining and without hesitation everyone stepped in to make the chapel beautiful and ready to go for our ceremony. I could not be more happier with having my ceremony and reception at the Jacob Henry Mansion. Amanda, Sue, and the other employees at the mansion did a phenomenal job. My wedding day went so smoothly, my dogs were able to be part of my ceremony, my homemade decor and centerpieces were displayed beautifully, and the food was incredible. The Jacob Henry Mansion goes above and beyond what a regular reception hall provides. For the price, you cannot go wrong. You get what you pay for, and since the venue is run by family, you are treated like family. If I was able to do my wedding day all over again, I would still choose the Jacob Henry Mansion as my venue because it made my day so memorable and rewarding. Thank you Jacob Henry Mansion Staff!

My now husband and I both agree that having our wedding at Jacob Henry was the best decision we made in our wedding planning process. When I met with my planner Amanda she made me feel at ease that everything would be handled exactly as I wanted it to be. \r\rOne of the best things about this place is how much they offer in terms of decor, excellent food, drink and location. They do all of these things and do them well. I was also impressed with the amount of customization you could have with them. If you dream of the customization of a DIY wedding without the DIY work I highly recommend them. \r\rI honestly can't say enough about the staff at the mansion, they truly made our day special and stress free. We did not have a simple wedding by any means and everything was handled wonderfully.

Married November 2014\rAMAZING establishment. This is a family business and they take such pride in their work. Incredible attention to detail. I was married in the Church onsite, followed by cocktail hour in the gathering room, then our reception was in the Grand Ballroom. My wedding day went super smoothly if there were any hiccups I did not know it. This truly fairytale day was perfect. Sue, the owner, watched me dance my first dance with my husband, how many places does the owner stay and supervise your entire event--NONE, other then Jacob Henry.\rThe church ceremony was beautiful, my dream was the double doors opening and walking in on my Fathers arm, done.\rEverything was customizable and the whole family was amazing. Truly a dream come true. I wanted an all in one venue. Church, ballroom--done. It didn't matter what the weather did outside we partied inside. Their list of venue's is wonderful too. I went with all their selections and did NOT regret 1 decision. The Jacob Henry Mansion is the ONLY place to have your wedding.

My husband (ahh!) and I had our ceremony here at the Old Central Church and worked with Amanda. We specifically wanted a venue that was beautiful all on its own, without needing thousands of dollars of add-ons to make it beautiful, and that is the primary reason we picked the church. It was full of historic charm and the perfect location for us. Amanda worked with us through her own wedding and the birth of her daughter, and we couldn't have asked for better responses or service. It was slightly pricier than I anticipated, but nothing out of average or unreasonable. We would absolutely recommend them.

This is a little gem in Joliet. I had my ceremony in the Old Central Church and then moved to cocktail hour followed by reception in the Victorian Ballroom. Since we had a lot of out of town guest, the estate was the perfect place to have everything and allow each part of the wedding to be it's own entity. The church is beautiful and allowed you to have a traditional ceremony or put your own twist on it. We didn't have mics but you could still hear everything all the way in the back of the church. The semi circle seating really makes you feel surrounded by your family and friends. \r\rThe banquet hall is beautiful. We visited several times when it was set up for different weddings and each one had it's own style but the backdrop emphasized everything. The stage allows you to be above your guest and really take in all the love and support of your guests. The bar is also two steps up in it's own room. There's no lines winding between tables or onto the dance floor as the night goes on. The dance floor is HUGE!\r\rThe staff is amazing. Amanda was able to make my vision a reality. She keeps the bride and groom in mind and makes sure all their needs are met. \r\rGreat place and had an amazing wedding

I used the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate for my ceremony and reception in October. Amanda was great to work with and she made an effort to respond to my questions and concerns within a few days. It's a family owned business and her mom was incredibly helpful the day of the wedding also. The outdoor ceremony site is beautiful and works great if you are planning a quick, nonreligious ceremony. My only ceremony complaint...you have to rent the ceremony chairs for $2.50 each. As far as the reception, so many people complimented the food! Which honestly, was a concern after reading some of the other reviews on the Knot. We served the chicken marsala and the pork tenderloin and everyone raved about them! If you want to save some $$, go with cupcakes since they charge $1.00 per person to cut the cake. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Jacob Henry Mansion to any bride that is looking for a unique venue!

As the MOB, we visited numerous venues. Since my daughter insisted on an outdoor wedding, even though October can be a very fickle month, it was important there were accommodations for moving the ceremony indoors if need be. The Jacob Henry Mansion has a beautiful outdoor site as well as the stunning chapel. \rAmanda and Sue promised us the weather would be perfect and they delivered. Not only was the weather perfect, the entire event was amazing! Everyone raved about the beautiful venue, the exceptional service and outstanding food! In fact, guests who had just attended a wedding at the Art Institute told me this was the best wedding food they had ever been served!\rOur expectations were more than met and I can’t thank Amanda, Sue and the entire staff for making my daughter’s day truly exceptional!\r

Truly cannot say enough good things about the Jacob Henry Mansion. Unlike many weddings which tend to occur during the summer months, our wedding was in the middle of winter. The mansion was absolutely beautiful during this time, with all of its charm and beautiful christmas decorations both inside and out. This made for some amazing pictures. The staff at the JHM are wonderful. We worked with Sarah primarily who went above and beyond to make everything that we dreamed of possible. Overall the staff members are incredibly accomodating and make the many stressful months leading up to the big day so much easier. I would 100% recommend this venue to others, one of the best decisions we made!!

My husband and I were married at the Jacob Henry Mansion in September 2012. I know I'm late getting around to the review, but I wanted to thank every vendor that made my wedding day perfect! I highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for one spot to do everything - ceremony, pictures, reception - you name it. We had our ceremony in the Old Chapel and then our reception in the Victorian Ballroom, which are located right next to each other (very convenient for guests!) Sine we planned to go immediately from the ceremony into the reception, my husband and I did a first look in the mansion early in the day, then walked around the grounds to take bridal party photos before the ceremony (though we did elect to add in an extra stop at Union Station.) The photos all turned out gorgeous, and guests loved heading outside to wander the grounds and patio during cocktail hour.\rThe staff is wonderful to work with and helped me with all of my coordination needs leading up to and during the wedding/reception. I worked closely with Sarah who graciously answered all of my questions (and there were more than a few!!) and made sure every detail we had pre-arranged was taken care of on the wedding day.\rThank you to Sarah and the wonderful staff at the Jacob Henry for making our wedding day so enjoyable!

I discovered the Jacob Mansion Estate while attending a work related function. When the function ended early, I explored the grounds as my fiance and I recently decided on an October 2014 wedding. We were planning on a small, intimate ceremony and reception. The property was beautiful and the options for our wedding were perfect. We didn't need to look anywhere else. We met Sue the owner, shortly thereafter and found her to be an amazing person. She immediately made us like part of the family. As the many months of planning took place I grew very fond of Sue and was excited and happy that she would be part of our special day. The lawn and gardens provided the backdrop to our ceremony and the Gathering room a warm and intimate place to celebrate afterwards. Sue and her staff assisted with the decorations I provided and transformed the room into a romantic setting. The food was beyond delicious and the service responsive and professional. Our guests expressed how wonderful both the food and venue were (and continue to do so when we see them). We appreciate all you did to make our day beautiful and memorable.

The ladies at JHM are literally one big family. It's mom Sue and her daughters running the show. Amanda was our consultant and they were all so amazing! I got stressed out about plenty of things throughout my wedding planning process, but I had very little stress when it came to things that fell under the JHM umbrella. Amanda is so organized and on top of things, I felt very safe trusting her to keep me on the right timeline. \rI think where they really knocked it out of the park was day of. They decorated the ballroom beautifully! The food was amazing. Service was quick and friendly. All of my guests raved about the food, servers and bartenders. And Sue and Amanda kept me at ease the whole day. I never had to worry about anything, I could just enjoy the day. At one point, I got particularly emotional (my husband and I took a photo on opposite sides of a door, holding hands, just minutes before the ceremony) and Sue brought me over to stand on top of an A/C vent to cool off and help me regain my composure.

I first heard about the Jacob Henry mansion when a friend got married there in 2009.I fell in love with the place. I have a thing for old beautiful buildings, and the Jacob Henry is definitely that. It's a gorgeous brick building that looks like a castle. Everything in it has an antique Victorian vibe, from the furniture to the wall paper. When I was planning my wedding I knew I wanted to have it here. The staff are so nice and helpful. My guests all loved wandering around the old building, and several people told me that the food was the best they ever had at a wedding. I wouldn't a change a thing about my wedding day. It was perfect.

September 20th, 2012 will always be a day i look back on and think, it was perfect. The staff at the Jacob Henry mansion exceeded every expectation I could have ever imagined. Sarah was our coordinator and she went above and beyond to assure our wedding was flawless. From suggestions for decor in the ballroom, to calming my nerves with a simple hug or a word of encouragement, she was every brides dream coordinator. When I forgot to add our bridal party in our final count and realized it three days before the wedding, she didn't panic. She simply fixed everything and made it work. Sue was also present on the day of our wedding. She is the owner of the estate and she was also there for everything we needed as well. Her and Sarah made sure our wedding went as planned.i will truly miss working with them! As for the venue itself, AMAZING!!!!! We were married in the Old Central Church which is attached to the ballroom. It was just beautiful. The original organ in the church made my walk down the aisle feel like I was living in a fairy tale. The ballroom was set up exactly how I imagined it would be. From the colors of the napkins to the backdrop on the stage (which is where the head table is placed) it was absolutely perfect. The grounds of the mansion are great for pictures. There's so many opportunities for great photos and they have the most beautiful landscaping. The flowers were big and bright, the grass was perfectly green, and the porch is great for bridal party shots. It's been two weeks and I am still getting phone calls about how beautiful everything was. The food was delicious and the bar staff was on top of everything. I have not one negative thing to say about The Jacob Henry Mansion. They made our wedding everything we wanted it to be and more. If you are thinking of having of having your wedding here, DO IT!!!!! I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

From beginning to end, it was all perfect. Amanda helped with the planning, and Sue saw to the execution, and everything was perfect. No detail was left out, and Sue treated us like we were her family. The food was great, the setting beautiful, and the staff was on the ball. It was perfect! A month down the road now we are still hearing comments from our guests about how much they enjoyed the event, and how beautiful Jacob Henry is!

Amanda was amazing! She was really helpful at our rehearsal to manage the wedding party, timing and especially the little kids (2 ring bearers and 2 flower girls). We had the ceremony in the Old Central Church, which was truly magical on the wedding day (my sister in law played the organ), the venue was great with a cute little room to get ready in just before. Amanda made everything much less stressful. She definitely knew what she was doing and was made me feel at ease as she took care of everything (from beginning to end). We didn't feel rushed at all, even though I arrived a little late. I would definitely recommend this location, it was perfect for our wedding.

The Jacob Henry Mansion is a beautiful venue, with a beautiful church on-site and a wonderful atmosphere. There is nothing to question there. Unfortunately, it was extremely poorly managed and a huge disappointment. I got married to my wife there last June and the decision to choose the mansion brought forth the worst part of it: Sue, the owner. Sue seemed alright at first, making many promises and accepting our ideas. The problem was that none of them were implemented! Many of the promises she made turned into empty ones, and this was very disappointing. She was also rather forgetful (she opted out of taking notes at our planning sessions together). We would have to tell her things multiple times at multiple sessions for her to remember, and then apparently forget because nothing happened about it! Furthermore, she was very pushy and on the day of, she hurried us along, not allowing pictures to go on for too long and also slinking around, appearing in the background of many of them. The drinks were very watered down and the sparkling juice turned out to be warm 7-up. Overall, I was very disappointed with the way my special day was handled. It is unfortunate that this beautiful mansion is in the hands of such poor management.

When my now husband and I booked an appointment with Amanda back in July 2011, we were merely starting our \"shopping\" of venue locations. Upon meeting Amanda, we were welcomed with a very professional, yet personable personality. She let us explore the mansion, lawn & gardens, and ballroom. She answered all of our questions, keeping it very black and white. The last part she showed us was Old Central Church, were we ended up having our Ceremony. We were blown away by the beauty of the church. At that point, Kevin whispered to me, \"This is it! This is where it will be!\" We didn't book right away. I was missing one thing. My ring! Although after he proposed in February 2012, we went back in March and booked our date. \rWe are beyond pleased with Amanda, her family, and the amazing staff at Jacob Henry. Everyone loved the all-in-one location, the food, and their overall experience. \rOn a personal note, my grandpa ended up becoming very ill during the Ceremony. Right after, he was transported to a near by hospital due to Cardiac complications. I, however, did not know what was going on until dinner time but very little even then. They ran a smooth ship and kept everything high in spirits. I can not express how happy I am with everything!! They went above and beyond with what I was expecting. Future brides, TRUST ME!! You will not be disappointed!

I had searched high and low for the perfect wedding venue and I was surprised at the lack of customer service at most places. No one made us feel welcome until we met Amanda at Jacob Henry Mansion. From the moment we arrived at the mansion, Amanda has always had a smile on her face and has been very helpful throughout the wedding planning process. She was able to recommend so many great vendors for us that we ended up using. She checked in every few months to see how the planning process was going and if we needed help in any way. Jacob Henry took care of everything on the wedding day. As a bride, I had enough things going on the morning of the wedding and I did not need to be decorating the reception room. Amanda and her wonderful team took care of it all. I received the most compliments from my guests about how beautiful the church and ballroom were. They also loved the grounds. I would highly recommend Jacob Henry Mansion. It is a true gem!

The staff at the Jacob Henry Mansion truly made this day for us more than we could have imagined, on top of the beauty of the estate. They took careful care of us the night before and made sure everything was set to go without us even having to set anything up. They certainly care about their couples that they spend time with and see it as an opportunity to serve people. The food is beyond amazing - I had so many compliments on it and we loved it as well. Our guests loved the outdoor porch during the reception to catch some air and we really appreciated the space we had. I recommend this venue for any size or type of wedding. The staff will work above and beyond any expectation you may have.

My husband and I got married here in June 2013. We had an amazing experience!! We are from Chicago but ended up here because we could afford city prices for an outdoor/indoor venue. The service here blew me away. I was originally thinking about using a wedding planner but after meeting Sarah I felt like I was in good hands.\rThe Mansion was extremely flexible with every request we had. They even allowed us to bring in home-brewed beer for cocktail hour! \rWe had planned an outdoor ceremony and dancing but it started to look like rain on the day of. It was a stress free transition to move anything inside.\rWe couldn't be happier with how our wedding turned out. A few guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Nothing but good things to say about Sarah and the Mansion!

My (then) fiance and I checked out a few places for our wedding before we fixed an appointment with Amanda at the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate. We had a list of \"must haves\" but most of the places that we considered were missing key things that we wanted. Once we attended our appointment at the JHM Estate the deal was sealed. They had absolutely everything that we desired and the grounds were lovely to boot. \r We decided on a wedding in the church and a reception in the Victorian ballroom. From day one Amanda was helpful and willing to work with our vision and I honestly can't recall a time that she told us that something was not possible. There were a lot of DIY details for our wedding and we planned it in just under 6 months but I have to say that there was barely any stress. There were times when Amanda wasn't available and the other staff stepped right in to meet our needs and everything was great. \r We did not have to worry about setting up venues or decorations because staff took care of everything. We simply showed up and the wedding festivities commenced. Amanda was available for our needs that day but you didn't really notice that she was there. I can recall during pictures after the ceremony Amanda went in search of my flat shoes for my aching feet :-)\r My husband and I received our wedding photographs and video in the past week and the pictures are just beautiful. The weather, food, drinks, dance floor, decor, and everything in between was just perfect. All of our guests had nothing but nice things to say about the venue.\r I would encourage anyone who is looking to have a wedding or dinner or some special occasion in the Chicago area/ southwest suburbs to consider the Jacob Henry Mansion Estates. You will not be disappointed. \r\r
