John Wright Restaurant is a full-service wedding venue located in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. Situated along the serene Susquehanna River, this restaurant offers a breathtaking backdrop for your special occasion. With beautiful event spaces, delicious catering, and a long list of preferred vendors, the venue has everything you need to to host a spectacular soiree. Weddings at John Wright Restaurant begin in the get-ready suite, where you and your wedding party can prepare ahead of the festivities. This chic space is painted a warm pink and features an exposed brick wall, a large mirror, hardwood floors, and a vintage-inspired pink upholstered settee. From here, you can hold your ceremony indoors in the River Room or out on the lawn. This beautiful grassy knoll is a lush spot to say I do and provides sweeping views of the river and the Veterans Memorial Bridge. The River Room can also be used for receptions and accommodates hundreds of guests for dinner and dancing. This banquet hall boasts classic red brick walls and hardwood floors and is dotted with wooden beams that can be wreathed in twinkling lights. The space has a built-in bar and access to a rooftop deck, where you can take in the views with your loved ones. Rental of John Wright Restaurant comes with diverse and delicious catering options. These include tiered packages of passed hors d'oeuvres, stationary hors d'oeuvres, and buffet-style, plated, and action station dinners. During the night you can sample such delicacies as caprese skewers, bacon-wrapped scallops, and watermelon feta bites before tucking into a mouth-watering pasta entree. Pastas include bolognese, farfalle alfredo, vegetarian lasagne, and many more. Meat entrees such as Beef Burgundy, Chicken Romano, and pork chops are also available, as is an open bar. To ensure a seamless experience, the venue can recommend trusted vendors for cakes, florals, entertainment, photography, videography, and more.

The day of coordinator (Cody) was absolutely phenomenal! He was so organized and attentive to detail and even helped me during a crisis moment when I thought the bustle of my dress ripped. He made the day go so smoothly and I can’t recommend enough! We got so many compliments from our guests about the venue & the view.

My husband and I got married at John Wright on October 1, 2023. It was the perfect day. I can't say enough good things about the venue itself and John Wright's team! The food was amazing -- our family was raving about the brisket. Cody, our day-of coordinator, is truly a gem. He checked in with my husband and I all evening and made sure our glasses were always full. He also supported us throughout the morning as we got set-up and directed my family through gathering our personal belongings at the end of the evening. Molly was our point of contact up until the day of the event and she was also a pleasure to work with. One of my biggest fears going into wedding planning was creating the timeline and with Molly's help we knocked that out in 40 minutes. Finally, as far as full-service wedding venues go -- I think the prices were reasonable. Especially when you consider the incredible view.

John Wright was a beautiful place for our wedding reception and was a great value! There is a 100 person minimum which is a little frustrating (especially during COVID) but the staff was amazing and so helpful. They lit the candles for us, helped assemble our cake, and even clean everything up. We had a blast and would definitely recommend this venue!

John Wright went above & beyond to make our day at their establishment special - especially in weird times of COVID. Molly & her team were wonderful to work with & they made every step of the way easy. Other than being a gorgeous place to get married, the food & beverages were spectacular and our guests were extremely happy with the event. Our day of coordinator, Cody, was helpful from start to finish - he was patient, prepared, and professional throughout the day. I would highly recommend John Wright to any family looking for a quaint spot with the best food in York County.

Some time ago we stumbled across JWR setting up for a wedding. We ended up falling in love with the view and how beautiful everything looked so we booked them for our wedding ceremony (lawn) and reception (River Room). My wedding day was absolutely perfect. I cannot say enough good things about Molly, who managed our event. They were everything a bride could ask for; friendly, accommodating, fast to respond, and reassuring. They provided a Day of Coordinator, Cody, who took care of anything I might have worried about before I even noticed there was something to worry over. I cannot recommend them enough.

We could not have been happier with our wedding at John Wright Restaurant this winter! The venue itself was gorgeous at this time of year, and the food was delicious - receiving rave reviews from countless guests even weeks after the event! Molly & her team were wonderful to work with and made the entire planning process so simple. On the same note, the day-of staff were extremely kind and attentive; they ensured that the entire day went off without a hitch! We came into this process with a very tight timeline, and were truly shocked at how easily it all came together. The day was everything that we could've hoped for and more! We would absolutely recommend to all!

From the initial meeting with Molly Cook we need this was the place. Molly Cook was absolutely amazing, she went above and beyond. She really made everything so easy for us. The food, atmosphere, friendly staff was on point that day. They really took care of us. It was worth every penny ! I highly recommend John Wright for any wedding/event. We also had our rehearsal dinner the night before down in the dining area. The food and service was excellent. Our guests loved it! John Wright Restaurant is one of a kind!!! John Wright is an absolutely amazing venu. We knew the moment we walked in that it was the place for us. A beautiful space that really can stand up on it's own with minimal decoration. The location also makes for some very beautiful pictures. The food was delicious and they worked with us to give us exactly what we had wanted. Molly was so helpful throughout the whole process from late night questions to standing in for the pastor when he couldn't come to the rehearsal. We really couldn't have done it without her. Overall we were so happy with our experience here and couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else.

My husband and I recently got married March 16th. I researched a lot, like more than normal venues because of how indecisive I am. This was our last venue to look at and if it did not work out we were going to postpone the wedding..crazy, right? Well the moment I met Molly I had a good feeling she knew what she was doing and was very informational. She showed us the grounds (beautiful views btw) and showed us upstairs where our ceremony and reception would take place....WOW was all I could say. I got those butterflies like you get when you try on \"thee dress\". We left the venue and I told my husband \"that's the one\". Molly was outstanding and took the whole day by the horns. Our wedding day was so beautiful and she was wonderful. The staff did sooo much for our wedding and make every detail noticeable and our guests loved it! We were told it was the most beautiful venue they've ever been too. I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a gorgeous view of the river (without spending an arm and a leg), amazing food, cost friendly and just an overall great day. I wish I could redo this day everyday :) Thanks Molly & John Wright for making our day so beautiful.

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at John Wright Restaurant on September 4, 2016. Molly was our coordinator from day one and was very easy to work with. She has a great personality and always made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. She answered my million emails in a timely manner and always greeted us with a smile. Andrew was our day-of coordinator and was awesome. He made sure that everything was on-time and as scheduled as well as made sure we had everything we needed. We had our ceremony out on the lawn by the river and the view was absolutely gorgeous. Our reception was upstairs in the River Room which is gorgeous! It’s very rustic [exposed wooden beams and brick walls] and was more than enough room for our 150+ guests. We also loved the HUGE [private] deck that our guests were able to take advantage of the whole night. The food was amazing and the service was top-notch. The surrounding area is very industrial, which is GREAT for pictures. I will forever recommend John Wright to all brides-to-be. Thank you Molly, Andrew, and the entire staff at John Wright for making sure we had the most perfect wedding – you all rock!

Not only is the venue stunning, but the staff is so accommodating and truly cared about our vision and helping to create our dream wedding! From the day we booked JWR -- Molly was attentive, accessible and incredibly fun and easy to work with! She had our best interest at heart from the beginning from requests, to questions, to advice! Jim & his team totally exceeded our expectations! The food was outstanding, the wait staff was professional and attentive and the bartenders were amazing as always! I would highly recommend John Wright as a wedding venue not only for the beautiful river view but for the amazing and thoughtful people behind the scenes!

John Wright Restaurant is beautiful! Located on the Susquehanna river, the River Room has both a rustic indoor and beautiful patio overlooking the river and arch bridge. The staff was also super accommodating, we didn't have to worry about anything on our day!

My husband and I chose to host our rehearsal dinner outside on the pizza patio and it was absolutely wonderful. We had a buffet of our own selected pizza, chips and guacamole, and dessert after. Our guest loved each item and enjoyed the beautiful views as well. Our servers were very attentive as well as they constantly were checking on us to make sure we had enough drink and pizza. The only issue was that the kitchen was not preparing pizza at a consistent speed to refill out buffet, however, our servers took this matter into their hands and saw that they addressed this issue to speed up the time between refills. Would certainly recommend this venue to host your large event or to just stop in for dinner!
