Located in Three Oaks, MI, Journeyman Distillery is a one-of-a-kind wedding destination with historic roots. Artfully remodeled, this old-time corset and buggy whip factory is a unique spot for an event. Now the home of Journeyman Distillery, this venue is the ideal destination for couples wanting a charmingly rustic aesthetic. Punctuated with an industrial vibe, this establishment can help couples celebrate their dream-come-true wedding. Journeyman Distillery is located approximately five miles from I-94, in the heart of Michigan's Harbor Country. The property is about 75 miles from Chicago and 30 miles from South Bend. Since its establishment, Journeyman Distillery's team has aimed to honor its storied history. At the same time, they have strived to carve a new path in what is the venue's next chapter. Valuing grit, experimentation, and determination, the crew at Journeyman Distillery have molded the destination into the stunning venue it is today. Journeyman Distillery teaches that if something isn’t right, it is our duty to make it so. They believe in growing and learning from mistakes, and they work hard to find new answers. As a full-service wedding venue, Journeyman Distillery accommodates anywhere from 25 to 500 guests. The property features on-site catering and a separate banquet kitchen. THE BEST VENUE EVER. My husband and I had been together for 14 years before we finally decided to get hitched. We knew years ago where we wanted to get married because we had been drinking their bourbon for years. There was no place besides Journeyman to do it. We had our rehearsal dinner in the Still Room and our wedding in Warren Hall. We heard from dozens of guests that is was by far, the most amazing they had ever been to. From the venue, to the support staff, to the bar staff, BOH, chefs and everyone in-between, our wedding was 100% successful. They communicated with us so well through every step of the way and went above and beyond to help accommodate some unique requests (one of which was allowing us to reassemble the 8foot arbor we built for the wedding). Jasmine was such a treat to work with and she really helped us feel comfortable and confident in the day. She worked with our day of planner and the two of them made the entire day go off without any hitches. The steak was PHENOMENAL and was cooked to literal perfection (I'm a professional chef, so I can say that with confidence). Our head bartended Rick was the bees knees. He found out our favorite cocktail from down in the restaurant and made sure we had one at our seats when we came in to the reception. Paige from behind the bad was adorable and gave amazing customer service to all of our guests for both of our events. I do not think I could say a single negative thing about our experience leading up to the wedding or the actual wedding. I'm grateful to have had such a wonderful experience and encourage anyone who is looking for a fun, unique, jaw dropping venue, to look no further. Journeyman is the place to be.

The venue was absolutely beautiful and everything we imagined for our wedding day. The only complaints I have are the lack of communication from the venue, it did take awhile to hear back from Journeyman. On our wedding day there were also tours going on where event planners from Journeyman allowed other guests to come into the bridal suite (that I paid for) while all the girls were getting dressed. This was not ideal and I felt uncomfortable knowing other guests were walking around the venues that I paid for, for the day. If I were to do it all over again, I would still choose Journeyman because the venue and the location offered everything we wanted for photography purposes and fit our ideal wedding day theme.

I had the pleasure of having my wedding in warren hall. It was so beautiful and the staff was amazing! The staff made the night run so smoothly. The food was delicious and got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how good the food was. The only thing is the communication during the wedding process could be improved upon. There would be times where I would not hear back from them until 4 weeks later after SEVERAL emails. This even was happening the week before my wedding. But other than that it was amazing!

Journeyman Distillery is honestly one of the coolest, most unique places around!! My husband Mark and I just had our wedding here a few weekends ago and we have nothing but the BEST things to say about Journeyman! They were extremely helpful throughout the whole process and very accommodating to every idea we had! The owner, Johanna, is just so sweet and so helpful with any questions we had! She was so personable and she really made sure everything we wanted for the big day was taken care of! We cannnnnot thank Johanna and her team enough for how AMAZING they made our wedding!! (: We HIGHLY suggest hosting a wedding here, or any event for that matter! We also had our rehearsal dinner here in the Still Room the Thursday before our wedding. And again, everything was PERFECT! The staff, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere; you can't beat Journeyman! BIG shout out to our leads the night of our wedding, Rick, and his wife!! They were absolutely AMAZING! We had soo many guests compliment their service, and we couldn't agree more! They were SO attentive and SO helpful! We were just beyond grateful when we saw that Rick was a lead for our big day!! The whole staff are just truly incredible and the venue is just mind-blowingly beautiful! Wish we could give more than 5 stars!!

Johanna and her team exceeded our expectations! First, the venue is gorgeous, the food was amazing, the drinks stellar, the staff was fantastic (shout out to Jason our bar tender) and Johanna was so gracious answering my million questions throughout the year. We did have a hiccup with the bridal suite being double booked the day of the wedding (things happen) but Johanna made it right, immediately, by offering the farmhouse for my girls and I to get ready in, and refunding the bridal suite fee. The farmhouse ended up being perfect for my girls and I to get ready in. I 100% appreciate Johanna and how hard her team worked to make our wedding day special. I would 100% recommend Journeyman. We had the wedding of our dreams at Journeyman. We held our ceremony at the Silo outside and reception in the Grainery room for around 110 guests. We also added the Bridal Suite on which was definitely worth the added cost for a private, quiet space. The spaces created a perfect atmosphere for our wedding. The crew we worked with were all very professional and helpful in making sure our day went smoothly. From initial inquiries with Lindsay to working with the owner (Johanna) to our eventual coordinator (Laura) we could not have asked for a better venue team. The dinner options were all delicious and our guests raved about how tasty it all was. The drinks were phenomenal (and all their own liquors...) and the bartenders made sure our guests had a good time. We'd recommend this venue to anyone and are so glad that we will be able to go back when we're in the area!

o\tWe had our wedding at Journeyman this summer; ceremony at the Silo and reception in the Still room for 80 guests. It was the perfect venue for us, and the day went off without a hitch. The Still room is the smallest of their venues, but to us it was the only choice being so close to the patio and putting green. Our guests had plenty to do inside and out and loved being able to put on the greens while taking a break from dancing. The food was delicious (chicken, pork osso bucco & salmon)– way above our expectations! We even got to include our beloved dog in our ceremony outdoors at the Silo and are thankful Journeyman allowed him to be a part of our day as well. Thanks Joanne and team for a great day!

The venue was exactly what we hoped for for our wedding venue! We were told the food was the best wedding food our guests had tried. We loved that people could go out to the putting greens and also experience the distillers bar. We didn’t hire a day of wedding coordinator and didn’t need to between this all inclusive location and a good DJ. They were accommodating of our cigar bar request and change in welcome drinks and late night snacks. Thank you, Journeyman!

My wife and I recently got married at Journeyman Distillery, and we could not be happier with our decision to have the wedding there! We originally visited Journeyman to try their spirits, eat a meal, and play on the massive putting green. Numerous hours (and drinks) later, we knew Journeyman would be a consistent stop when visiting Michigan. Fast forward a few months and we were engaged and decided we wanted our family and friends to experience this “hidden” gem in SW Michigan! The wedding planning process couldn’t have been easier. Rachael and Jasmine guided us through the process with professionalism, patience, and a can-do attitude. They made sure everything was in order well in advance of our big day and worked together with us throughout the planning. The day of the wedding couldn’t have gone smoother. Jasmine was on top of everything before, during, and after the wedding. Rick and the Journeyman staff could not have been friendlier and set the tone for a great evening of celebrating. The food and drinks got rave reviews from all in attendance. Our wedding of 100 was small for Warren Hall, but the ability to set up the room in different ways allowed for the space to still feel intimate while also allowing guests to spread out and be comfortable. The whole experience was top notch, and we couldn’t recommend more highly!

If I could give this venue and staff 10 stars I would. My husband and I had the pleasure of having our wedding last weekend at Journeyman Distillery and it was unforgettable. It's a beautiful historic and sentimental space, both indoors and outdoors. Not only is Journeyman's Warren Hall gorgeous, the staff is exceptional. The entire planning process, start to finish, was so wonderful. Jasmine handled every question, request and change thrown at her promptly, with a smile on her face and complete composure. She is extremely attentive, responsive, accommodating and she went above and beyond coordinating with my mom and I to oversee all the details. We only had 100 guests, which is quite small for the Warren Hall space, but she provided me with so many great, creative layout options so that our guests would feel part of our intimate ceremony and still have a beautiful flow into reception and celebrating. My husband and I didn't want the night to end. The food and cocktails were amazing, but what made our night so memorable was the service and attention to detail we and our guests received. Special thanks to Angel, who took every ounce/hint of stress off my mom and I day of the wedding. She set up our tables, double checked all the minor details and made me feel so at ease. She is literally a gift from heaven. I have to brag about Rick and his wife Kerry, they are so phenomenal. Kerry treated every single one of our guests with VIP service. Rick made sure we had a fresh cocktail in our hand at all times and that my husband and I ate our dinner while it was warm. He even arranged a plate for us with all of our petite desserts and wedding cake so that we had a chance to taste everything. The bartenders treated each of our guests with the utmost attention and respect, we are still receiving so many compliments from everyone. The whole experience was 10/10. If I could give this venue and staff 10 stars I would. My husband and I had the pleasure of having our wedding last weekend at Journeyman Distillery and it was unforgettable. It's a beautiful historic and sentimental space, both indoors and outdoors. Not only is Journeyman's Warren Hall gorgeous, the staff is exceptional. The entire planning process, start to finish, was so wonderful. Jasmine handled every question, request and change thrown at her promptly, with a smile on her face and complete composure. She is extremely attentive, responsive, accommodating and she went above and beyond coordinating with my mom and I to oversee all the details. We only had 100 guests, which is quite small for the Warren Hall space, but she provided me with so many great, creative layout options so that our guests would feel part of our intimate ceremony and still have a beautiful flow into reception and celebrating. My husband and I didn't want the night to end. The food and cocktails were amazing, but what made our night so memorable was the service and attention to detail we and our guests received. Special thanks to Angel, who took every ounce/hint of stress off my mom and I day of the wedding. She set up our tables, double checked all the minor details and made me feel so at ease. She is literally a gift from heaven. I have to brag about Rick and his wife Kerry, they are so phenomenal. Kerry treated every single one of our guests with VIP service. The staff could not have been more accommodating during an overall tough process of rescheduling a wedding. They honored everything from the spring of 2020 and made everything as easy as possible. Now for the day, what can I say. Rachael was incredible, extremely accommodating, the ultimate professional, and the staff was absolutely top notch. Everything went off without a hitch and we had zero concerns throughout the day. We had spent so much time planning, and postponing, and waiting, and for the day to go as perfectly as it did, I just cannot say enough. Our guests absolutely raved about the experience. If I could give more stars, I would.

Journeyman was the absolute perfect place to have a wedding! My husband and I have family all over, specifically Michigan, Chicago, and California. We knew wherever we chose, people would have to travel. I ended up finding Journeyman from a google search and from the highway billboards. It was about half way from the Michigan family and the Chicago family, which seemed to be the happy medium. I decided to check it out, and it did not disappoint!! The event team was fabulous! I actually went through 3 different event managers during my engagement, but every single one of them were prompt in their responses and handled my copious questions exceptionally. They even kept us thoroughly informed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic on any restrictions they foresee. The food, atmosphere and ambiance were just what we were looking for. When it came to the actual wedding day, it was run beautifully. All of the set up, food, and coordination were flawless, making this \"hands-on\" bride very relaxed. Warren hall has so much natural, rustic beauty that it can be shaped any way you see fit! It can really be a blank slate. I would 100% have my wedding there again. My husband, the guests, and I cannot say more positive things about the wedding experience and the overall flow of the night!! Spectacular!! Highly recommend to anyone interested.

We had the most amazing, beautiful and romantic wedding that I personally have ever been to! Even during this crazy pandemic time the distillery/venue made it a safe and relaxing atmosphere for us, our wedding party and our guests. Dan our wedding coordinator went to extremes to make sure our day was perfect. We had our ceremony and reception outside on a beautiful September evening in and behind the Stillroom. Our quests got to watch us walk down the isle with a cocktail in hand. The only complaint I feel like I should mention is that near our dance floor it was muddy, there was no previous rain for days so we weren’t sure what that was about. All the women’s high heels would sink into the grass, and my shoes did get damaged alittle. But I can say how the day went it was very minor. If we had to do it again we would get married at this venue and wouldn’t change a thing! From the food/staff to the ambiance it was a five star venue! And we love their bourbon which makes it a bonus! Cheers to all you future couples! Heather & Brad

It was an absolutely beautiful, perfect venue for rehearsal dinner and our guests really enjoyed the experience and bar service - for experience, I have to give them 5 stars! What a magical day my husband and I had on our wedding day! Everything was perfect! The staff was incredible.The bartenders were amazing. The day overall was everything I could dream of! Despite these times of uncertainty, they did their best to make all of my dreams come true. The only thing I think they need to improve on is communication. It was very hard to get a hold of the event planners, especially when I need a quick answer for one of my other vendors. This is the only stress I had planning my wedding.

What a magical day my husband and I had on our wedding day! Everything was perfect! The staff was incredible.The bartenders were amazing. The day overall was everything I could dream of! Despite these times of uncertainty, they did their best to make all of my dreams come true. The only thing I think they need to improve on is communication. It was very hard to get a hold of the event planners, especially when I need a quick answer for one of my other vendors. This is the only stress I had planning my wedding.

When me and my now husband stopped by Journeyman initially it was partially on a whim, driving back from visiting relatives. But once we walked upstairs and experienced the beautiful aged wood of Warren Hall with the soft string lights and windows lining the sides nothing else really compared. And we are both so happy we chose Journeyman for our wedding! Lindsey was responsive and helpful through our initial inquires and Dan was absolutely wonderful as our Day of Coordinator – would definitely recommend! Even through a second tasting and specific dietary needs for our guests, the staff were super accommodating. On our wedding day the venue looked amazing, it really doesn’t need much to look great, and we had a beautiful sunset shining through the windows during dinner. The long wood tables were absolutely gorgeous. Even with a second wedding happening in a different section of the venue it never felt crowed, loud, or mixed up. My husband loved having the bridal suite to relax, play cards in, and sip whiskey while me and bridesmaids got ready. Dan was on point and quick to take care of any concerns in the weeks before, at the rehearsal, and on the day of the wedding. There was never a line at the bar as they were efficient and had a great system of pre-paring cocktails, which, by the way, the old country goodness was amazing. The food was also delicious and we got many compliments from guests about the quality of their meals. Before, during, and after our wedding all staff members were courteous, responsive, and kind. We would highly recommend Journeyman for your wedding! P.S. Book the flat right next door as well for extremely convenient lodging!

Let's be honest - there should be more stars. This is the first review I have ever written for anything, ANYTHING. This place is what dreams are made of. My now husband and I recently got married here. Journeyman's holds a special place in our hearts as it was stumbled upon our first weekend getaway together. We were married in The Grainery which is stunning, STUNNING. There is no need for decorations as the room is gorgeous on it's own. Enough about how much I'd like to just move in. Let's talk about service. Jessica and Lindsay were great - Jessica was present the night of our wedding, she's amazing. We also had a head server from the time we arrived in the morning until we left that evening that could not have been more helpful or was eagerly ready with a cocktail to calm nerves - my kind of lady. The rest of the service team was just the best. It's rare you find that kind of service anywhere these days. My head server even told me she's throw a punch when one of my family members got unruly, now if that's not top notch service I don't know what is...!!!!!! I just want to remind all brides out there that your service team makes or breaks your wedding. if the service is great, let them know. We even made a trip into the kitchen - dress and all to thank them for how amazing they were....The food was something out of this world. It's not easy to serve to that many people and do it well. So, hat's off to the awesome team at Journeyman Distillery for making my wedding day amazing and stress free, we could not be more thankful!!!! P.S. If you're looking for a spokesperson for your wedding venues - will work for bread pudding. Words cannot describe how amazing our experience was at Journeyman Distillery. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in Warren Hall and everything was absolutely incredible! The venue itself is gorgeous with the amazing lighting and ambiance. The ceremony space near the large door was perfect! Cocktail hour was filled with amazing appetizers and cocktails. Our guests loved everything about it. The dinner food was delicious and we loved the little touch of the appetizer platter for bride and groom (since we were too busy during cocktail hour to get all the appetizers). All of the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. Jess, Lindsay, and Austin all were so responsive and organized with everything. The night was everything we dreamed of and more and we couldn’t be happier without experience. Highly recommend!!!

We booked Warren Hall, and it was perfect. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all here, and the setup worked out wonderfully. Warren Hall is such a gorgeous space on its own – the big windows, wood floors, brick walls and other details make it so you don’t have to go very heavy on other decor if you don’t want to! Food and cocktails are so delicious, we got tons of compliments on both. Amazing staff as well, everything ran so smooth from our perspective and we wouldn’t have changed a thing! Highly recommend booking the day-of coordinatation service – Dan was awesome. Jess, their Event Services Manager was also fantastic. I am so glad I ended up having my wedding at Journeyman! We originally booked at another venue over a year before our wedding and when they cancelled on us 6 weeks prior we were left scrambling. I had already been in contact as I was planning my rehearsal dinner here and they were super fast to tell me it would be okay and they could accommodate us! SO reassuring to a stressed out bride. They were so quick with responses and extremely detail oriented. Plus the space is just phenomenal! We had our ceremony in the still room which was perfect for our under 100 guest list(my only complaint is it was a little warm but I am sure that was partial nerves for me). We had our reception in the grainy overlooking their equipment. It was such an fun talking point, our guests loved it! We chose the least expensive drink package (couldn't go wrong with any choice) and they still provided a welcome drink and 2 signature drinks!! All of the drinks were TOP NOTCH! At our original venue we had selected a chicken and beef (filet) option and since most of our guests had already RSVP'd we felt stuck to stay with those choices (except at Journeyman we went with flank steak which I was a little concerned about) but I was not disappointed! The steak was perfect and the chicken, SO good! The brie mashed potatoes- one of my bridesmaids texted me yesterday that she dreams about them! Everything was just perfect! The venue itself- a show stopper, the food and drink- amazing, the day of staff and planning team- beyond helpful! The silver lining to our venue cancelling? That we could re-book with Journeyman!! Absolutely a dream come true!!

Held my son and daughter in laws wedding here in the Still Room in Sept, 2017. The room was gorgeous and lit just perfectly. The service that Lindsay provided was top notch - she always got back to me with answers and suggestions. Day of went perfectly, everything set up as was discussed. The drinks were great and the food was wonderful. We had 103 people in the small space but it never felt cramped and we had room to dance and party - a nice intimate feel. The outdoor space worked out perfectly for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Thank you Lindsay!

We had our rehearsal dinner here. Although it was a more expensive option than other locations, the space was perfect for our 100 person rehearsal. The food was delicious and we dropped off a bunch of decorations and they made the room look gorgeous. Only negative was that they ran out of bread (there was amazing butter on the tables and I think people took more because of that)-- and didn't refill the bread which isn't the end of the world. Drinks were great, coordinating with Lindsay was super easy, would totally recommend.

This was the most incredible venue for my dream wedding!! From the exposed brick, hand made wood tables to the whiskey taste testing that engaged and entertained my guests- this remodeled industrial building had all of the character I needed in a venue for my wedding reception. I'm so obsessed with this place! They offer wedding planning assistance, the staff is friendly and helpful, the drinks are incredible and crafty, and the food is DELICIOUS! Even my very picky grandpa said it was the best Salmon he's had in his life! I couldn't recommend this place enough- the best experience and they helped me make my dream wedding come to life! You can truly rely on them to give you recommendations for local vendors you need too. Would highly highly recommend.

It makes me so incredibly sad and frustrated to write this review, but I feel compelled to share my personal experience. I want to emphasize that this is an account of my experience from my perspective. My fiancé proposed to me at Journeyman. It has been our favorite restaurant and our bar has always been stocked with Journeyman spirits of all kinds. We've even given Journeyman products as gifts to friends and family for years. That's why when we started planning our wedding, Journeyman was naturally the place we wanted to host our special day. We got engaged in December 2016 and rented the Stillroom for our wedding in January 2018. We signed the contract outlining our rights and responsibilities and paid our security deposit (buyer beware: it's not actually called a security deposit, as I later learned. \"Security deposits\" are refundable. \"Down payments\" are not). Over the next 6 months or so, I started to notice that it became more and more difficult to reach the event planner, Lindsay, with questions regarding our wedding. Ultimately, we were having to email a few times to get an answer, and usually that answer was prefaced with how busy she was. I started to feel like I was bothering her. Like she didn't want to help us, which was incredibly frustrating, because when you rely upon the venue for everything, you can't really take care of anything yourself. So when the group catering tasting came and went, we were all told that we would hear back from them with an invoice within the following two weeks. Six weeks later, I had to email the event planner myself, requesting the invoice. After a few attempts to reach her, we received an incorrect invoice, where she said that she thinks that's what we asked for. When I emailed her back requesting changes, she said that there was a new catering manager that was starting and that person would contact me (they never did). So I sent Lindsay an email stating that we would like our security deposit back and outlining why. I received an email back fairly promptly stating that security deposits are non refundable. So I emailed Johanna Welter (the owner's wife) to try and remedy the problem. I told her my story, and added that I had already HAD THE INVITATIONS PRINTED AND STAMPED so this was no easy decision. Johanna was focused singularly on the contract, stating that we paid a down payment, non refundable, versus a security deposit, which is refundable. She said that she would review the contract we signed, as I even got tearful on the phone, and said she'd get back to me after reviewing it, which she never did. It's less than 4 months until our wedding and I'm planning it all over. I've dumped so much money into this wedding which will go to waste because no one had time for us. I can't help but feel like this happened because we are a small January wedding and not a 500 guest Warren Hall wedding. Follow up phone calls have been met by more of the same. Johanna never once, at any point offered a solution. Since I've been sharing my story with others, I have learned that my story is not uncommon. Please PLEASE reconsider if you're thinking about planning your special day here.
