Laina Daniel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2017 Out of 5 stars I would give this venue 10. easy. The staff here made my wedding of 500 guests an absolutely amazing day for my husband and I. I can't thank them enough for all the hard work and service. They will find a way to make anything you want come true, they saved the day multiple times as my decoration company completely failed me and almost ruined the whole event for me, they came in and saved the day. Staff was by my side all night making sure everything was attended to. Not one guest complained, out of 500 people. that is amazing. Food was absolutely delicious and the cake was beyond delicious. Drinks were plentiful, no ones water glass was ever empty. I am beyond words for this venue and highly highly highly recommend it. Adil Gozum, the even coordinator is literally my knight in shining armor. Thank you JW marriot for making my wedding a complete dream come true. I really did feel like a princess that day thanks to you all! Reviewed on 10-01-2019
Linda Reese(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2016 If I could give this review 10 stars I would. There is not one bad thing about this spectacular hotel!! Everyone we worked with from the bellhops to the servers to our planner, Alexis, was wonderful. We had our wedding on the Wildflower Lawn, followed by a cocktail reception outdoors adjacent to the lawn and then moved indoors for dinner and dancing later. Stunning views of the mountains were the backdrop for the ceremony. Our dinner was delicious and we had friends say it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. Guests loved the pools and lazy river, as well as other restaurants on the property. I cannot say enough good things about the JW Marriott Desert Ridge!! Thank you for making our daughter and son-in-law's wedding day such a memorable event. Reviewed on 31-10-2016
Stephanie Muhlbach(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-09-2014 My husband and I toured several different venues in Phoenix and each one paled in comparison to the Marriott. Their attention to detail stretches out beyond the cleanliness of their guest rooms, beautiful grounds and immaculate lobby to the service they provide. Our coordinator, Shari, was amazing! She listened to our vision and and really went the extra mile for us. Every employee we saw all weekend long congratulated us and made us feel special, especially their doorman, Gordon! The night of our reception, the banquet manager and all of her staff were on top of all of our needs and the food... OH, My!.. the food was was not your typical wedding food, 3 weeks later and my guests are still talking about the sweet potato gratin and the amazing salad the chef had created for us! The one downfall is that we went a bit over our original budget (especially after adding in the cost of family guest rooms to the total)... but here you truly get what you pay for and I wouldn't change a thing! Bethy Kleiman(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2010 We had our wedding at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge over labor day weekend. Throughout the entire planning process, it was a good thing that I had a wedding planner because their 'catering managers' who are supposed to help are not the most helpful. Needless to say their communication skills were sub par. However, our wedding was spectacular, the venue was amazing, 2 downfalls... somehow the catering manager decided to listen to my brother about a few things rather than me or my parents which ended up costing my parents more money (food in certain places that was NOT necessary, but my brother requested) and then we felt as though we were completely lied to at the tasting. The food at the testing was spectacular, the day of the wedding, the banquet chef decided to cook something completely different for our guests. Ok, not completely different it was still chicken, but it was supposed to be lemon pepper with a butter glaze, it was italian grilled, we were supposed to have fennel risotto, it was mush rice ball, we were supposed to have a lot of veggies, there were only a few, you get the hint. And to top it all off, we nicknamed our cake, the leaning tower of cake... yes it was leaning and as the night went on is leaned more and more. With all that said, we did get a FULL refund for the actual dinner because of this, so in the end it saved my parents money =), and to be honest the only thing our guests knew was wrong was the cake, so it wasn't so bad that the guests knew, but still, it frustrated us as the bride and groom. Anyway, with all of that said, I would still recommend the JW because the venue is so amazing and a great place for a full on wedding weekend, but I would recommend to any bride or groom to be very specific in your banquet order form and take pictures of the food at the tasting. Other than that it was an amazing weekend staying at the resort. Reviewed on 11-10-2010
