King Family Vineyards, located in Crozet, VA, is a winery wedding venue that has been attracting soon-to-be newlyweds and wine enthusiasts alike since 1998. This countryside getaway is tucked away in the foothills of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, a short drive from Charlottesville. You can celebrate your reception in the Carriage House, an impressive facility characterized by its country-meets-chic aesthetic. Your nearest and dearest will surely be enamored with its grant stone fireplace, barrel stave chandeliers, and oak floors. Cozy cocktail hours can be held in the North Gallery, a wonderful spot for mixing and mingling with loved ones. Capable of hosting up to 200 wedding-goers, King Family Vineyards provides an array of amenities designed to complement your special day. A facility manager will be present throughout your event, making sure that every detail runs perfectly. Plenty of tables and chairs will be provided, as well as ample firewood for the fire pit. A mouth-watering meal can be prepared for you and your guests courtesy of one of the venue’s approved caterers. Parking for buses and guests’ vehicles is also available.

This venue was the perfect place for my daughter & so -in-law's wedding. The backdrop of the mountains filled with the colorful foliage and beautiful green fields were something right out of a movie. All of the guests commented on the beauty of the venue. The reception hall was perfect for all of the guests & it was decorated all so beautifully. Victoria, the Day of Coordinator, tended to our every need and was very approachable and worked hard to make this a perfect day! The food was delicious and the DJ was awesome ! He had everyone on the dance floor all night. King's Family Vineyard helped to make this a magical day!

King Family is so beautiful! Their event team always responded to emails promptly and answered all of my questions. They keep their venue very well maintained and their wine is amazing! I would definitely recommend for anyone who is looking to have a beautiful outdoor wedding with stunning mountain views.

This venue....gosh, you cannot go wrong. The view, the wine, the staff, and the reception hall was all TOP TIER. We will always make it a habit when we're in the area to stop at this vineyard because it has such a special place in our hearts. Juan was amazing and very prompt and thorough with everything! The process was super easy. After flying up to the area to pick out our venue almost a year before our wedding date we picked, this was the 7th venue we saw in 3 days and it was love at first site. One thing I do recommend is booking this place as far in advance as you can because it is so popular. There are hotels within 15 minutes of the venue so there is no problem with transportation. Ample parking, friendly staff, and lots of space for whatever you plan to do for your wedding day! Overall, 20/10 would recommend to anyone.

Juan and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with. They helped us have the wedding we dreamed of! From their response time to their professionalism, the team was amazing. The wine is also to die for. Everything about the venue exudes class and warmth. Could not have chosen a better venue to get married!

We had such a positive experience with King Family as the venue for our Oct 2022 wedding. It's a very popular venue so we recommend booking as soon as you can! They were all out of Saturdays in October when we booked our date 18 months out. Throughout the planning process, the events team was so helpful, flexible, and always quick to respond to our emails. Each of our vendors (and potential vendors) were thrilled when we shared that KFV was our venue and would comment on how great they were to work with. On the day of, everything went smoothly, the space looked amazing, and the views and weather were everything we'd hoped for. There were several unique perks to the venue, such as the groomsmen attending a KFV polo match on the day of the wedding, the wedding party participating in a 'burying the bourbon' tradition on the property, a layout that was very conducive to our cocktail style stationed dinner, and multiple rain plan options. Overall, they were the perfect venue for us!

King Family Vineyards is truly a dream wedding venue! My husband and I fell in love with King Family Vineyards at first sight. The event team was always responsive and clear when we asked questions. The planning process was so easy, they really are a well oiled machine! So many of our other vendors work at King Family on a regular basis so that was a huge benefit since we were planning from out of state. The bridal and groom suites on site made getting ready so convenient. The gallery and reception furniture that is already on site helped to create the perfect classy vineyard setting that we were looking for. We couldn't picture hosting our wedding anywhere else and now we have an amazing venue to return to for special occasions and anniversary bottles of wine!

We just had our 2 year reception after an early-covid marriage and I am still on cloud nine from how beautiful the day was. We hosted about 150 people and it was a great size and layout for everyone. Despite some classic Virginia spring rain, everything was stunning and executed perfectly. The KFV team is friendly, professional, and so accommodating, and we'd do it all over again if we could.

The weather was iffy the morning of our wedding, and we were so happy to know we were getting married at a venue that has a great indoor option if need be. KFV is a beautiful place to get married, and the venue and staff are very easy to work with.

We are so glad we got married at King Family! We had a wedding of about 100 guests in March 2022 and it was perfect. First, the team was so professional and easy to work with. We worked directly with Juan and he was very communicative and helpful. They do make you hire a day-of coordinator (that is not provided by the venue) but it 100% worth it. Second, the venue is gorgeous. We chose to hold our ceremony indoors but took photos outdoors and had cocktail hour outdoors and both settings were incredible. You barely need to decorate the reception area because it's so beautiful already. Also, you have access to the firepit for cocktail hour and we did a s'more station! Finally, the wine is delicious. You are required to provide all wine through KFV and it was a huge hit with the guests. I only have two negatives and they were very minor. First, the bridal getting ready suite is somewhat small. I had 6 bridesmaids so we ended up renting an Airbnb to get ready for the day and just did final touches in the venue. Second, KFV doesn't provide a TV or projector/screen. If you want to play a video or have visuals for your toasts, you will have to provide that yourself.

It is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is so friendly and organized—we had nothing but great interactions with them throughout our wedding planning process. We worked with Juan who was so friendly and was there to answer every question we had to help our big day run smoothly. There are so many beautiful places to take photos, both outdoors and indoors. Their wine is also great—you can’t go wrong with any of the wines you choose but we highly recommend serving their Crose. Overall we had an incredible experience with King Family Vineyards and would highly recommend them to any newlywed couple looking to get married in Virginia!

Both Amanda and Juan were so helpful and responsive leading up to the big day. And we can't say enough about the venue - absolutely gorgeous views and a beautiful reception space. In the end, our wedding at King Family Vineyards was absolutely gorgeous and we could not have asked for a more special day. In the last few weeks leading up, we were working directly with Juan who was absolutely incredible- he was communicative and always worked to make sure that my vision was realized. However, prior to this, the communication was often jumbled and delayed. Planning the wedding at this venue during the pandemic was frustrating at times, and I felt like I was not being heard or accommodated with reasonable requests. I hope that with changes since the pandemic future wedding couples will I have a more positive experience throughout the planning process. At the end of the day, your wedding here will be absolutely gorgeous, you can’t go wrong with the Virginia mountains and the view from King Family.

When the rain finally stopped, it left fog on the mountain backdrop and when the sun reflected off the mountains, everything turned orange and red and the pictures were amazing. Other than that, the indoor reception hall was more than big enough for our 110 guests. They provide all the 6' round tables and chairs so you don't have to worry about renting them (linens not included), an outdoor fire pit and an indoor fireplace that you can use, a bridal suite and a grooms room. Grooms room is 6 leather chairs and a giant TV, what more can you ask for? Best of all, they will buy back any wine that you don't use at the end of the night if you don't want to take it home. We opted not to do that because we absolutely love their wine (another plus). Price of the venue is reasonable for everything they do and provide. But better reserve a date fast, we had to get ours a year in advance because they fill up! Great place to get married in Charlottesville.

We loved our wedding at King Family. Amanda and the whole events team were fabulous and extremely helpful. The space is beautiful, the wine amazing, and the view is unbeatable. We ended up with rain on our wedding day and held our ceremony under the awning out back. It was beautiful and so intimate. It's great that no matter the weather you can have a beautiful wedding at King Family. The photo opportunities are breathtaking between the mountains, the vines, and the polo fields and barn. They make it very easy for you to pick the right wines an the correct qualities for your event.

We loved our wedding at King Family. Amanda and the whole events team were fabulous and extremely helpful. The space is beautiful, the wine amazing, and the view is unbeatable. We ended up with rain on our wedding day and held our ceremony under the awning out back. It was beautiful and so intimate. It's great that no matter the weather you can have a beautiful wedding at King Family. The photo opportunities are breathtaking between the mountains, the vines, and the polo fields and barn. They make it very easy for you to pick the right wines an the correct qualities for your event.

We had our wedding here on 06/08/18 and it was perfect! All of our guests were overwhelmed with the beauty and lush green of the surrounding mountains and grand, sweeping lawns. It's the perfect backdrop to all of our wedding pictures. KFV is one of our favorite vineyards in the area and was long before we got engaged, so getting to get married there was a dream come true for us. All of our guests raved about the rustic elegance of the Carriage House and the delicious wine. The KFV Events team was fantastic to work with (thanks for letting us buy more Crosé, Kelly!!) and every employee seemed really enthusiastic and genuinely excited about our wedding. We also had our Sunday Polo Sendoff the Sunday after our Friday wedding -- if you've never seen polo played live on horses and people-watched all the polo guests in their big hats and Sunday best, you've got to do it at least once! All in all, King was the perfect place for our food and wine themed wedding and we wouldn't have had it anywhere else.

When my husband and I first get engaged, we decided to look at King Family Vineyards but didn't really think we would be able to get married there. It was (is!) his favorite vineyard in Charlottesville and would be a dream wedding venue for us. We booked a tour with Kelly and after visiting a few other venues, we knew the other places we looked at even came close in comparison. When it comes down to it, getting married at King Family is a smart decision as they include just about all the furniture rentals you'll need and are financially competitive with most traditional/non-DIY venues in the area. Kelly Bauer (the event manager) is also AMAZING. I've never experienced customer service as good as I did with her -- she always responds in a timely manner, is patient, gives you all the information you need, and is above all a kind and pleasant person to interact with. King Family also allows you to chose a caterer off of their preferred caterers list, which gives you the flexibility to control food and drink costs that you aren't otherwise able to do at other area venues with in-house catering. Best of all, King Family Vineyards offers an experience like no other for your guests. My husband and I live in Charlottesville, and 99% of our guests were out-of-towners. We were so thrilled to be able to show them the place where we live by way of hosting them at King Family. We heard from everyone how breathtakingly gorgeous the views were (in our opinion, the best view of any vineyard) and above all, the wine was delicious. Long story short, if you're thinking of getting married in Charlottesville, King Family Vineyards is one of the best all-around options in terms of beauty, the guest experience, affordability, and flexibility. We may be biased, but we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. Thank you, Kelly and team, for an amazing experience we'll never forget!

Every staff member I spoke to during the planning process for my daughter's wedding was professional and courteous. They have a team of people who work together to provide a positive experience for everyone who visits the Vineyard. We had a lovely cocktail hour and reception with a variety of quality wines poured. It was a memorable wedding for the Bride and Groom and the many guests who attended.

The experience was great. With our wine tasting we got to keep our glass. They had 2 full body reds that we got to taste that I bought to take home. Their Seven wine I also bought. It is a full body red that is aged in old whiskey barrels. My husband loves it. The bartender was knowledgable about the wines. He even gave me a handful of corks from that day (stamped with their vintage) for commemoration to use in art. They also had beautiful art around the tasting room. It was crowded while we were there, but the hostess was able to get us a space to taste quickly, in under 5 minutes. They also do polo matches in the fall. We stayed and enjoyed the foliage and a bottle of their merlot.

My husband and I had always loved King Family Vineyards and had spent many happy times there. I always secretly wanted to get married there because it was such a beautiful location. \r\rSo, when Ryan proposed, I instantly knew that was the place for us! We held both our ceremony and reception at the vineyards in August and Anne, Shawn, and the Kings were exceptionally wonderful to deal with throughout the entire process. Anne was especially patient when answering all of my questions and very quick to respond to me and flexible when running our decor and layout ideas by her. They also provide the chairs and multiple tables for the reception and ceremony, as well as wine barrels, so that is a huge help!\r\rWe heard so much positive feedback from our friends and family about the beauty of the location and the fun that came from having such a great celebration at a vineyard! One of my close friends got engaged soon after our wedding and he and his fiancé decided to book their wedding at King Family after seeing our wedding there as well.\r\rIt's a great choice! We are excited to be back to visit soon :)

KFV was fantastic! Any questions I ever had, they were quick and sufficient in their answers. The day of the wedding, a tent was set up because of miscommunication. KFV made sure that it came down with no problem! The venue is beautiful and the staff was fantastic.

I got married last weekend at King Family and it was absolutely perfect. October 29, so all the leaves were changing. The setting was stunning! We knew the moment we saw KFV it was where we needed to have our wedding reception! It is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains (thus providing spectacular views!), has a Polo field (hello Adam!), and delicious wines! We loved the sophisticated rustic feel of inside the Carriage (the place where we had our reception), the beautiful Gallery (big red hall where guests enjoyed cocktails), and how wonderful the staff was. We went to KFV MANY times over our engagement to meet with the staff, sample the wine, and get a feel for the space. Every time we came we were greeted with open arms. The month before our wedding KFV added a beautiful fire pit and extended their brick patio. As if the space wasn’t already prefect, this took it over the edge! \rIt’s a place Adam and I can always return, enjoy some wine and the scenery and think back to our amazing wedding.

We knew the moment we saw KFV it was where we needed to have our wedding reception! It is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains (thus providing spectacular views!), has a Polo field (hello Adam!), and delicious wines! We loved the sophisticated rustic feel of inside the Carriage (the place where we had our reception), the beautiful Gallery (big red hall where guests enjoyed cocktails), and how wonderful the staff was. Absolutely Beautiful! The location and scenery can't be beat... the reception hall is rustic but classy, the farm lets the horses out in the pasture to be in the background of pictures, and there are always geese flying over head in the evening. They supply tables and chairs, max capacity is ~200 which was the perfect size for my wedding. The wine is also top notch! It is a local favorite and impressive venue for out-of-towners who have not experienced the beauty of Virginia. The website is extremely helpful for finding the best local vendors, no need to look any further. The vendors all know this venue very well which made planning and the event go very smoothly.

Meet the King Family Vineyards Team
Amanda Barber (Events Director) Amanda grew up in the Crozet area and joined King Family Vineyards in 2019. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with focus in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management, Amanda has experience in the hospitality industry and the Virginia wine industry. She uses the skills and knowledge acquired from these trades to provide great customer service and foster teamwork in the winery, where she serves as the Event Director.
