I attended a relative’s wedding there and was disappointed with the set up and service. It’s a beautiful setting and the room was strung with small lights, giving it a nice ambience at night. However, the staff person on duty could not easily be identified. He wore everyday clothes and was sitting in a main room and scrolling on his phone. Since he wasn’t dressed for a wedding and had no badge, no one knew he was the staff person on duty. He was not overly available when there were questions or help was needed. He had to be searched out, and then he helped. For the price of this venue, I would think he would be stationed somewhere where he could be found easily as well as being dressed for the occasion, and off his phone. The set up of the room was odd and uncomfortable mostly because there was an elevator and a bar blocking and taking up the middle portion of the room. So, although the room was a rectangle, you could not see everything that was going on. For example, guests were situated In one area, the cake cutting was done in an area where people could not see it, the dance floor was on the opposite side of the elevator and the DJ and appetizers were in another corner. It just wasn’t an open floor plan. You had to literally get up and move to another part of the room to see the bride and groom dance, to another part to watch them cut the cake. The acoustics were awful. We couldn’t hear a thing the DJ said. It was so muffled. The outdoor setting was lovely and the lawn was manicured. If you decide to look at this venue, ask them where things will be set up. You have a right to know how it will be set up because of an elevator and bar being in the middle of the room. We got married at Kinney Bungalow on 9/29/23 and it was every bit as beautiful as we hoped! The building has so much historic charm and gorgeous details that it hardly needed any decor. We ended up inside all day due to rain, but the venue is so warm and inviting that we weren’t even disappointed by not having our outdoor ceremony! The booking process was really simple and we found the rental fee reasonable. It isn’t a full service venue but they provide an extensive list of preferred vendors to work from. Overall it was a wonderful experience! Highly recommend! Reviewed on 12-10-2023

What can I say about the Venue, and Blue Rocks catering. Super helpful. Noelle was fantastic to work with. I love that they responded to every call and email right away. The food was above and beyond what I expected. We did not to a tasting, trusting my instincts, we were so pleased with everything. The raw bar was AMAZING! Big hit. Our bar staff was great too. She rocked. All of the staff was so nice and helpful. I will recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you Sharon R. Reviewed on 27-09-2023
Kaitlyn Maloney(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2019 I spent all my summers in Narragansett since I was born and always knew this is where I would get married. I had been to the farm stand hundreds of times but never inside Kinney Bungelow. This was the first and only venue we looked it and immediately fell in love with it! It is romantic, has a beautiful history, intimate and of course gorgeous sunset. Another bonus was Daisy, the coordinator, was amazing throughout the whole process! Reviewed on 04-09-2019
Katie L(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2019 Finding the venue for your wedding is one of the first things couples need to decide on, and it can be a disheartening experience when you are confronted with an enormous baseline cost. My husband and I were planning a wedding in Rhode Island from across the country, and we spoke with many venues that had absolutely astronomical baseline costs for a more all-inclusive (catering, cake, alcohol etc.) experience. We went with Kinney Bungalow because it is absolutely unique and gorgeous (the idea of a reception hall makes me gag), allows for flexibility (we could pick the caterer we really wanted- Crazy Burger FTW), had a reasonable price, and Daisy MacLeod was responsive and wonderful to work with. Unlike an all-inclusive hall, you may need to do a little more legwork to hire vendors like caterers, bartenders and rentals. My husband and I actually liked this aspect, since it allowed us to customize for the wedding we wanted. Daisy worked with our schedule so we could visit Kinney Bungalow and was incredibly available and responsive to all of our questions. The actual wedding day was absolutely perfect- we had about 90 guests, which felt great for the space. We had to switch our plan A of getting married outside under the archway to a plan B of having the ceremony in front of the fireplace indoors (a thunderstorm started to brew as soon as my husband and I arrived at the bungalow). This ended up being fantastic, and many guests commented that the ceremony was beautiful, romantic and intimate indoors. We could not have been happier with Kinney Bungalow- it was the perfect setting for an incredible day. Reviewed on 01-08-2019
Morgan Gormley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-06-2019 Kinney Bungalow at Sunset Farms in Narragansett, RI. As a kid, I’d drive by here all the time on the way to the beach/Point Judith and I knew I’d want to be married there. It was the third venue of the day and my husband and I fell in love the second we walked in. We had a couple more tours booked, but in my heart I knew we’d end up here. Daisy MacLeod the event coordinator for KB is the nicest person to work with! We had a minor hiccup the day of, the attendant wasn’t at the venue to open it up right on time, but we made a quick call to Daisy who ran into action and was at the venue within 10 minutes! The inside is absolutely gorgeous and doesn’t need a lot added as part of decor, which was important to me. I cannot say enough good things about Kinney Bungalow! Reviewed on 30-07-2019

Jenessa Johannis(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-09-2017 The location and the building are top notch. The communication by the staff, who work for the town of Narragansett, leave much to desired. The tour was great and Daisy was very easy going and told us we could use the all the grounds for photos and that we could drop off all our decorations the night before at the rehearsal. The week of the wedding it was impossible to get a hold of her and her assistant would only answer by e-mail during the hours of 8-4:30, when the town is open. When you are running events, you need to be available by cell phone at off hours and need to return phone calls! No one showed up for our rehearsal at the farm to open the doors to the building. It was raining, we had to run through a quick rehearsal on our own and the decorations had to be put back in cars and the cake stand and the pew bows never made it back to the wedding with all the confusion. It was very upsetting and stressful on a day when you should be enjoying the best moments of your life. Our wedding day was gorgeous and perfect due to our love and that of our family and friends. We were told we could take pictures any where, as I know the farmer who runs the other part of the property, Daisy had told us that she would clear it with him and I believed her. As we were out in the fields of corn taking rustic, awesome pictures, the farmer came out and stearnly told us we shouldn't be there and was very upset! I was embarrased and felt awful that we thought we could be there and we were NOT! I sent him and his wife an apologie after the fact. This should not happen on your wedding day. The staff at the bungalow are not wedding planners, they are not event professionals and the details that are missed are major ones. They are only there to receive checks, lay out the rules and open doors if you are lucky. We were charged $50 for an outside set up fee and my friends had to take dead flowers off of the wedding arch and set up the chairs that we also had to pay for. If you choose to get married here and it is beautiful, double check everything or hire your own wedding planner. Reviewed on 14-01-2018

All of our guests have told us how gorgeous the building is. Having our ceremony on site was amazing and flowed perfectly to the reception area upstairs. The tree swing makes for such romantic pictures! And we had the most stunning sunset! Daisy from the bungalow made the entire process so easy! She was incredibly accommodating and flexible! We used emerys catering from their preferred vendor list and everyone just raved about the food. I absolutely would not have changed a single thing. The space was perfect for 126 guests! Lisa, Jenny and the Staff checked in throughout the year ahead of time to make sure that we were moving along in our process, which was great. The farmer and his family next door were extremely accommodating allowing us to take pictures in front of the farm stand and in the fields. What's great about this venue is that you don't really need to decorate it all... the windows and gorgeous dark wood are all that you need. However, the twinkle lights that were added this year above the dance floor were probably one of my favorite parts! I don't think photos even do justice to how magical it looks when set up for a reception. The lawn is perfect for the ceremony and cocktail hour. There were recent upgrades in the spring of 2013 to the bathrooms, bridal suite, and exterior. Samantha Spunar(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2012 My husband and I were looking for something non traditional for our wedding venue. We didn't want to get married somewhere everyone else had already been married. We also didn't want the famous tacky carpeting you see in every reception hall everywhere. I came across The Kinney Bungalow on TheKnot and immediately fell in love with its rustic feel. Living in Connecticut, our guests were a little unsure why we chose a venue a few hours away in Rhode Island, but upon arriving at our ceremony everyone knew why. This place is gorgeous! There are floor to ceiling windows, original woodwork and wood floors from the 1800's and a brick fireplace. It is adjacent to a fully functioning farm. The venue only holds 150 guests, which keeps your event small enough to be intimate but big enough not to leave everybody off your guest list. You can get married on site on the lawn, and have use of the surrounding lawn areas for cocktail hours, pictures etc (unfortunately no use of the farm!). The only draw back is you are solely renting the space; you have to bring everything else in yourself (I however preferred this seeing as it gave me a blank canvas to really create what I had in mind for our special day). They do offer rentals for chairs and tables should you decide to use what they have. They also have a great list of recommended vendors that are used to working in the historic conditions of the building (i.e. old kitchen). The building is owned by the town, and our contact throughout the process was friendly. She was very accessible in the last couple weeks leading up to our ceremony to make sure we had everything all set to go. All in all we had an amazing experience at the Bungalow and were so thrilled to get married there. The raw beauty of the venue and surrounding area made for truly wonderful memories and spectacular wedding photos :) I would recommend the Bungalow in a heartbeat if you're looking for something a little different and to wow your guests. Tiff Plourd(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2012 Let me start off by saying I would not change our venue location, Kinney Bungalow is a gorgeous place and it fit us really well. \r\rI will say that I was not thrilled with the coordinator, Lisa. When we first signed our contract, we had another coordinator who was absolutely wonderful. She left and I was not notified of this until I randomly sent an email out one day. \r\rFirst, H and I went to the bungalow one day to meet the new coordinator, and I asked a couple of questions and she sarcastically asked if she was on a job interview.\r\rSecond, one year into our contract we were informed we had to buy general liability insurance due to 'recent changes with the town'. That shouldn't have been our concern because nothing was stated in the contract, but we went ahead and paid it.\r\rThird- it states in the contract that they prefer to use Liberty Rentals as their rental company, but it also says as long as another rental company drops off and picks up during the allotted times, if Liberty does not have what we need we could get it from another rental company.\r\rWe had a situation about a week before the wedding where I forgot to order the champagne glasses. I called Liberty and they were out of stock because they were being used. I emailed Lisa and told her this problem, and she said it would not be allowed to rent from another company and they 'just changed their rules as it states in the contract they can do at any time'. I would understand if Liberty had them, but they did not.\r\rI found her supervisors phone number myself after not getting a response from her about it, and only after having a long conversation with him did she grant a one time exception. \r\rOn another note, I would add that we had a guest count of 122. I would not have an event with more than 125 people because of the space.\r\rLike I said, I would not change where we had our wedding because it really was gorgeous, but I was not fond of the planning experience there. Diana Puccio(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2012 We got married in June 2012 at KB and we are so glad we did. It is an absolutely beautiful and unique space, and I loved that we could have the ceremony outside. This venue was perfect for us, we had about 105 guests at our wedding and I wouldn't recommend going much higher than that (the max capacity is 150). My husband is an architect and he was extremely impressed by the building itself, as were our guests. There is no AC and it did get hot, but with all of the huge windows open and the breeze coming through it wasn't too bad. It is an absolutely beautiful place to get married, we got some gorgeous photos there.\r\rKinney Bungalow is a historical site, so all your correspondence goes through Narragansett Parks and Recs. My only complaint with that is between booking the venue and our wedding date, the coordinator position was changed. I ended up finding out through another of our vendors, and then it was another couple of weeks before anyone there notified me. Then, as we got closer, I was receiving emails asking for my balance from someone OTHER than the coordinator, which was sort of off-putting and confusing. I'm imagining they are going through some transitions with the changing of the position, and I imagine this will get better over time. But if you book them I would just advise you to stay on top of them so that you don't end up having similar confusions. \r Reviewed on 17-07-2012
Allison Davis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2012 Our reception was held here in May. We choose this location because we both went to college in the area. It was the perfect place for our wedding. We had cocktail hour on the lawn, which was beautiful because we get to look up at the building; the outside is just as nice as the inside. If you have cocktail hour outside defiantly provide flip-flops, your guest’s heels will sink into the grass. Our guests raved about the inside of the venue and how different and beautiful it was. You don't need to go crazy with decorations because of the simple beauty of the room. The only thing about this place that could be better is the fact that the kitchen is small, you will probably have to pay your caterers to bring in a stove and the bathrooms could use a face-lift. If you're looking for a different and beautiful location this is the place. Reviewed on 25-06-2012

I believe it reached 87 degrees. Our Ceremony was beautiful, it was a bit too hot during our reception. We happened to have just about zero wind that day, or else it would have been a perfect breeze through those huge windows. I got so hot, I ended up getting sick and missed part of my reception. :( Otherwise, everything went so smooth and perfect. We didn't have to do much to decorate, Kinney Bungalow is just simply beautiful. It will forever be a special place for my husband and I. The only downfall, would be that after our catering cost and the price to rent their tables, chairs, set up fee, security deposit and rental fee for the very short 5 hours we had the place, we ended up paying what most other venues charge. The surroundings provide for great photo opportunities, as well. Reviewed on 01-12-2010
Natalie Myers(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2010 We had our wedding at Kinney Bungalow in July 2010. The venue couldn't have been more perfect. It was July and hot but you couldn't feel it there was such a nice breeze on the second level. There was an absolutely stunning sunset while we ate and our guests enjoyed walking around on the farm. They took pics of the cows and pigs and tractors. OMG and the hydrangeas were the perfect backdrop for several of our pictures. We got some great shots of just my husband and I out by the corn fields. The whole day went just absolutely perfect!\r\rNatalie & Mike, West Warwick, RI Reviewed on 01-12-2010

Erika Blauch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2010 We had our wedding reception at Kinney Bungalow in June. It was a beautiful setting for our big day. Our ceremony was off site, so we used the ceremony space at Kinney for our outdoor cocktail hour. Friends loved the garden-style setting. The interior of Kinney had just enough room for our 150+ guests to dine and dance. Brandi was very easy to work with and everything was very reasonably priced - in fact this may be one of the most value-added places to host a reception. Reviewed on 09-08-2010
