This venue has it all - gorgeous, sweeping views of downtown Los Angeles, personable and caring staff that will assist you with anything (and ensure you have extra bacon-wrapped dates in the bridal room for snacking!) and a stellar chef. Miki and the chef assisted us in developing a custom menu for our wedding, and everything, from the lamb to the samosas, came out perfect! Kathy Chung(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2018 The contact person makes a huge difference. We got married in August, 2018. When we were looking for a venue for our reception, we had a place in mind, a hotel near the church we were having our ceremony in Pasadena. Then my husband's coworker recommended this place. She got married at this location 25 years ago and it was so beautiful. We checked it out. And we fell in love with Miki. Miki was full with confidence, experience and she knows what's best for the couple. She will make sure the bride is 100% satisfied with every details including taste and presentation of the food. My husband made a big deal of the open bar(which he wanted all night long) and Miki gave us honest advice and helped us choose the right decision for us. For me, bride, preferred vendor list was very helpful. We choose our photographer, Photo Booth, florist, DJ and bakery off their list. And every vendor was amazing(also will write separate reviews.). Thanks to Miki, from preparation to wedding day, it was smooth that I did not had a \"bridezilla\" moment. It was our best choice to get married here.Plus, after that day, few of my friends who were at the wedding are asking about this place. That they loved the food and the venue. They are considering LCFCC for their venue. Reviewed on 09-11-2018

Miki has this wedding thing down to a science - she knows exactly who needs to be where and when. Claudia, the day-of wedding coordinator assigned by the country club is a gem. She was SO on top of everything and in my opinion, did way more than she was obligated to. I was so calm on my wedding day because I knew I was in good hands. I also recommend using their preferred vendors because it makes everything so easy. Flower Blush florists, Jennifer Jasso photography and VOX DJ's all know exactly what to do. Especially, by bringing me water without asking. It is the small details that made it all great. Miki was so attentive and wonderful. Malinda was also amazing. She was very attentive to all details. I didn't do anything that day but smile. I had the Star Wars theme song for the wedding entrance and Melinda just loved it. It felt good to have my wedding be the way I wanted it to be without being judged. Yes, Im a dork and I love it. I recommend this place a million times. Everything about this day was magical. Getting ready in the venue was very convenient. The bridal room is connected to the restroom therefore it is very practical to have your bridesmaids go in and out. When the groomsmen and groom got there, Miki and Melinda kept both of us informed about our whereabouts so we wouldn't see each other. Both, Miki and Melinda, had great communication with me. I Absolutely had such an amazing time. My cake even bled while the Jaws theme song played. We had a gothic, nerdy wedding and I LOVED every minute of it. In addition, If you are looking for a great place to take pictures, this is the place! I have so many amazing pictures by the sunset, the water fountain, golf carts, and the beautiful downtown view. Miki knew all the magical places where to take gorgeous pictures. I wish I can share a couple because that will convince you to get married here. Another great thing about the venue is that there is also a groomsmen room. The mentally liked how they had their own hangout place. Changing subjects, we had our ceremony in the gazebo area. I recommend it too. It was beautiful with the view of the city. My guest shared that they loved riding the golf carts to go down into the gazebo. They said going down and seeing the amazing view was so much fun. I hope this helps others make the choice to get married here. My husband and I had a terrific time and have no regrets. I would get married here again if I could. Thank you Miki and Melinda for EVERYTHING!!!!! Reviewed on 03-08-2018

Furthermore, she's very creative, as she put a fun Italian soda station and fancy coffee station in our wedding that everybody loved! We had our reception in the larger of the two halls, and everybody commented on the views, how lovely the room looked, and most importantly, how the food tasted. We booked the venue about 1 year in advance. Initially, we worked with Hana, but about halfway through our planning she left so we worked with Vanessa for the rest of our wedding. We also spoke with Miki one time and found her to be very thorough and informative as well. Everyone we worked with and met with was professional, polite, and willing to help make our wedding a success. Our ceremony was at the gazebo site. It is very convenient to the parking lot for arriving guests. The club allowed us to set up our own chuppah in front of the gazebo. We chose the buffet option which included 1 hour of open bar and a wedding cake from Porto's. All the food prepared by LCFCC was delicious. We got so many nice compliments from our guests. LCFCC also allowed us to bring in our own wine for dinner service. You cannot bring in any other alcohol. Our reception was held in the smaller LCF Ballroom which included the use of the bar area, a small cocktail room off the bar, and the wraparound patio. The views from the clubhouse are amazing! It's one of the reasons we picked the club for our wedding. Our wedding package included napkins in our color choice and chair covers with sashes in our color choice. They have many colors to chose from, however, we decided to go with white napkins and upgraded to mahogany Chiavari chairs (which the club took care of ordering). The day of our wedding went so smoothly. We literally did not have to worry about a thing. They have a small bridal room to use for getting ready that adjoins the ladies locker room. The club was also very accommodating with setting up tables and chairs to our specifications. In addition, they also have accessories like easels and table numbers that you can use if you like. They really do go above and beyond the make your wedding day special! Thank you to everyone at LCFCC! Reviewed on 18-11-2017

Rating TBD.\r\rMy fiance and I checked out numerous venues after we got engaged last February. After meeting and falling in LOVE with the beautiful venue,Miki and Brent (wedding coordinator and her right hand man) we decided on getting married at LCFCC. This was the perfect venue for us! The Country Club is amazing and showcases one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Los Angeles you can get! Every time I have called or emailed with any questions I received a prompt response from Miki. One of the other reasons we chose LCF was because the head chef at the time we signed our contract used to be with The Palms downtown. Fast forward 6 months when we went in for our tasting. As we were on our way to the main dining hall, we were told the chef was no longer with the venue and had been replaced. Kind of a let down, but we figured no big deal. We were still at the PERFECT place for us!! Now, my fiance and I are HUGE foodies! The Silver menu we were given stated that the steak would be prepared medium rare. Unfortunately, during the tasting our steak was cooked medium well and was very tough. Needless to say, we were scheduled for a 2nd tasting. Fast forward 75 days before our wedding...Our wedding is set for April 2, 2016 and we found out today that Miki and Brent are no longer at the country club either. These are the 2 people and one of the main reasons that drove us to this location. I am a little concerned because the reputation of LCF is largely dependent on the quality of service Miki and Brent have provided to so many couples before us. Their excellence has won them raving reviews on several wedding websites and awarded them with the \"Best of\" the knot title since 2013. I have counted on those 2 throughout the entire process thus far. I'm hoping that the new replacements will be as thorough, helpful and as eager to help as Miki and Brent have been. We are scheduled to meet Shawna (Miki's substitute) at our 2nd tasting this Saturday and I am optimistic that we will be just as happy with her. As a bride, of course I am nervous since this has happened so close to the day of the wedding, but I'm sure that Shawna's previous experience and expertise will shine through and make our day just as perfect. Stay tuned... Reviewed on 18-01-2016
Diana Bruno(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-01-2015 We were married last January and things have only just now settled down enough for us to write a review for our venue and the people who made our wedding day such a beautiful and memorable experience. As much as we all try to anticipate and plan every detail while stressing over everything for months on end, looking back we are so glad to have found a place that we will always think of as the beginning of our lives together and people who were dedicated to helping us realize our dream for that beginning. The La Canada Flintridge Country Club and the entire staff, especially the Catering Director, Miki Mootsey, were all of those things for us on January 24, 2015.\r\rWe found LCFCC through reviews online and it was the first place we visited about ten months before our wedding date. Miki was the first wedding coordinator type person we had ever met and we instantly knew that we loved her and wanted to work with her. She is such a warm and friendly person who knows absolutely everything about everything when it comes to weddings! We had no idea what this process would involve, what sort of things to consider or even where to begin. Miki was our gentle and patient guide through all of it. The most important piece of advice Miki gave us was to go out and look at other places, meet other catering directors, find out what was out there and what we liked or didn’t like, and then call her again. So we did, and after touring many other places and meeting many other people we came back to Miki. Other places had varying combinations of strengths and weaknesses and it is important for each couple to decide what kinds of things are most important to them on their wedding day. For us, it was the combination of a beautiful setting and a staff that specialized in working with us to customize the details we were interested in and to help us throw the party we imagined. We had an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo and our reception in the LCF room. Everything was beautiful!\r\rThe bottom line is that on our wedding day everything turned out just like we had been imagining and hoping. Miki and co-director Brent Blake-Holden were there with us throughout the day as well as our day-of coordinator LeAnn Im who personally took care of all of the details, like making sure boutonnieres matched and pocket squares were folded straight and that everyone in the processional knew their cues while keeping everything on schedule. Miki was there with a plate of snacks for us after the ceremony and she drove us around the grounds in her “Just Married!” golf cart to all the best photo locations. And just like that it was over! We spent the rest of the night having the most amazing party we’ve ever thrown and we were completely free to just have fun. \r\rOur wedding day was so special to us and to our families and friends and was made more so by the advice, efforts and hard work of the staff at LCFCC. We’re still in touch with Miki and drive by the venue every once in a while. We can’t imagine our lives together beginning anywhere else or in any other way than this place, which is now and forever a part of our history and memories. To all those starting out in planning the greatest party of your lives, LCFCC and Miki and her staff are absolutely worth getting to know. We cannot recommend the venue and the staff any more highly and were very happy with every aspect of our experience there. Good luck to all of you and congratulations! Reviewed on 23-11-2015

Not only was she the 2nd greatest thing about the venue, her assistant Brent is the 3rd best thing to work with. Both of them are a true gem and made our special night that much more memorable. I had met with them countless time about the table linen and at all times they greeted me with nothing but warmness. On rehearsal night, they help placed this heart garland for my ceremony backdrop and I cannot express my gratitude. I swear, if it weren’t for them two, I wouldn’t really care for the venue. \r\rWith that said, many of my guests brought to my attention (after the wedding) that during cocktail hour many of them didn’t have an opportunity to sample all of the hor dourves. I anticipated about 200 guests, but I would say 170 of them showed up. So I couldn’t understand why there wasn’t enough hor dourves going around. During the reception, many of my guests brought up to me that the waiters were a bit rude to them. They were slow and empty glasses were not being filled. One waiter even laughed in front of my sister-in –law’s face when she requested something. Overall, the service from the waiters was a bit disappointing. \r\rThe food was delicious and so was the whole atmosphere in the LCF room. Most of the locations we visited made it pretty clear that we were basically just renting the space, EVERYTHING else was pretty much up to us. That all changed when we met Miki. It was the only place that made as feel as though they were on our side. Her vendor list has professional people at a really great value. That mattered quite a bit to me with our limited budget. We really got a lot for every dollar we spent. Many of my guests thought we spent double and triple what we actually did.\r\rBrent and Miki were incredible on the day of our wedding. Brent was a late addition to the staff and really went the extra mile for us. I don't think he ever went to his office the entire time. He took the time to organize and put out our place cards. He noticed a few were missing and a few others didn't match our floor plan and brought it to our attention. It was an easy fix and was taken care of without any of our guests being inconvenienced. He put out our party favors and programs on every setting. Miki was there for my wife any time she needed anything as well. We did have some issues during our reception. Miki, Brent, and Carol(the banquet captain) were on top of it and fixed it without us knowing. I didn't even hear about it until afterwards.\r\rTHANK YOU Miki and Brent for everything! Anonymous (parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-10-2014 As parents of the bride, and this being our first of our three young adults to get married, we were more than pleased with the LCF Country Club! Although we had attended a prior wedding & reception there a few years ago, little did we know that how great the service and value was. We had checked out 4-5 other venues in the Los Angeles area, and all were loaded with fees as well as several in difficult locations. LCFCC's proximity to the many Pasadena hotels as well as Bob Hope-Burbank Airport made it so convenient for many of our guests. \r\rThe view from the prime side (southview) gives you a spectacular view of Pasadena, downtown LA and the surrounding La Canada Flintridge foothills. There is ample space for a live band and a sizable dance floor. We hosted a cocktail hour where a jazz trio played...it was a great spot for socializing prior to the dinner/speeches/dance. Our wedding accommodated 120 people with space to spare. I was particularly impressed with Mikki and the wedding coordinator. They made the event easy and pleasant and they're great people to have organizing the occasion!\rThe food was incredible and received highly favorable comments. Do check with Mikki about the how well you want the steak prepared! In summary, our guest commented on the beautiful reception room and the view. Many guests said this was the best wedding they had ever been to because the venue complemented all the other factors that go into creating a successful wedding and reception. When we have the choice of venues again, LCFCC is tops on our list...it has set the bar high for weddings & receptions! Reviewed on 23-10-2014

We booked the venue in December of 2013, and ever since then, Miki has been there every step of the way to answer all of my questions and has been more than accommodating to all of my requests. We just celebrated the big day this past weekend on October 18, 2014. The best part of this entire venue was the the amazing value we got for the quality of all of the services (including food, drink, rentals, coordinators - the list goes on). We received numerous compliments on the food, especially the quality and portions! The next best part of the evening was the spectacular view. For having mostly out of town guests, this was a treat to see and great for pictures. From the moment of the rehearsal on Friday to the end of the night on Saturday, LeAnn (our day-of coordinator), was there to assure everything went seamlessly. The entire team made sure we stuck to our timeline and not one step was missed throughout the entire evening. Growing up in the area, I knew La Canada has a reputation for being a town of luxury and I knew it would add to my theme and the prestige I wanted for my event. Miki, the Catering Director, was an absolute dream. I could tell she was very experienced in dealing with stressed out Brides and managed to make the entire process easy. During the reception, Carole an employee at the Country Club was very attentive and polite to all my guest and vendors. I could not have asked for better support. I had the pleasure of working with the amazing Miki Mootsey as well as her assistant Brianna. The entire process with Miki was amazing and took such a weight off of me. Miki not only makes you feel relaxed about the process she is a wealth of knowledge and can recommend different vendors if you are in need of one. She recommended by DJ ( Kendall Roberg) and Flowers ( Flowers by Dan) both of whom I loved. Not only was Miki and the other staff great, the food was amazing and they really work with you to help make your dream day become a reality. I also loved that unlike other venues they do not make you pay extra for every little thing ( Cake cutting, the bridal room, chairs and linens for example). For cocktail hour they kept making food until the hour was up. A lot of other venues only gave you a set amount and when they were gone they were gone. The chef even turned a cantaloupe into a wishing well just to make the table look nicer. Part of the fee was a day of wedding planner which came in handy. You may not think you need one but trust me ladies you do! As for the view well it was amazing as well. I got married at the gazebo. I was worried at first that it was so close to the road but Miki re-assured me that it was very quite and the road lead to a hand full of houses. Not a single car drove by. When Miki and Brianna say they are by your side they really mean it. My day turned out amazing and it is in a big part because of Miki and Briana. Thanks to them both and to LCFCC! As a new bride to be, you want others (vendors) to share your excitement and show interest in their business. \r\rOnce we saw the venue, we loved it. Then we met with Miki and she basically changed the wedding package to accommodate all of our wishes for our budget. We were sold. \r\rFast forward to our food tasting, OMG, the food was delicious and they let us choose what side dishes we wanted, whereas most places will not allow that. Me being a foodie and chef myself, that was very important to me. \r\rI tried not to be high maintenance but when I had questions, I would just email Miki and she would respond back in a timely manner, which is also extremely important, especially the closer you get to the wedding date. \r\rMiki through in a lot of extras for us and both my husband and I really appreciated it. We had no doubt everything would go smoothly on our wedding day. \r\rSince our wedding on Aug 3, 2013, I have heard nothing but wonderful comments from all of our guests on how much they enjoyed themselves and how GREAT the food was and beautiful everything looked. \r\rI would HIGHLY recommend this venue to have your wedding at. The view and surrounding area is beautiful and Miki and her staff will take good care of you. If we ever have an occasion to need a venue, La Canada Flintridge Country Club will be the first place we look. \r\rThanks Miki and every one at La Canada Flintridge Country Club for helping to make our wedding day WONDERFUL! \r\rSincerely,\r\rTnT\r Reviewed on 29-08-2013

Amenda Kung(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-01-2013 So, my mom recommended the La Canada Flintridge Country Club (LCF) because she joined a ballroom dancing group that hosts events there - far be it from old and stodgy...LCF has some beautiful reception rooms with floor to ceiling windows and a view of Los Angeles on a clear day. We planned our wedding from the Bay Area so had limited opportunities or desire to coordinate more vendors than necessary. LCF provided the ceremony gazebo setup, reception room setup, including linens and chair covers/sashes, sound equipment, golf carts, etc... Not to mention the food is excellent (way better than hotel fare) and reasonably priced. We celebrated our wedding in January with 180 guests and reserved the large ballroom with a standard size dance floor. Brought in a 3-piece live cover band, set up a candy bar, and hosted bar (with set maximum). Miki at LCF was exceptional to work with, and we even got to practice our first dance in the ballroom. We found LCF to be flexible and willing to work within our budget. Book them quickly; then you can breathe a little knowing you have a great team behind you. Reviewed on 27-06-2013

\rLa Canada Country Club is a hidden gem. The location is beautiful, rolling green golf course, and a breathtaking view of Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley at night. But what makes it a perfect venue for a wedding is the service, food, beautiful ballroom and an awesome event planner/Director of Catering. My daughter's wedding was held here on July 28, 2012. The week following the wedding we received many emails and cards on how beautiful the wedding was and what a great time everyone had. The food was fantastic, our guests raved about all the choices. The service was exceptional, the servers were polite and very responsive to our guests. The most important person in making my daughter's wedding perfect was Miki Mootsey. Miki from the day we booked the country club was available for any question or concern. I would email her with a question and within a very short time I would receive a reply, regardless how trivial the question. She took a personal interest in all our planning for the reception. The service we received was far beyond our expectations. The pricing is also very reasonable for what you receive. There is ample parking. The ballroom has a large separate bar which is really a nice amenity. We were able to access the ballroom the day before to set up all our tables and special areas. Vivienne Byrd(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-10-2010 When we met with the catering director the first time, everything sounded promising and great! We asked her when we need to clear out, she told us the reception can go past midnight because they have no curfew. However, when we went back to make our final payment, the story changed to, \"oh everything have to stop by 11pm or you can pay $500 for extra hour.\" Don't you think that's something she should have told us in the first meeting?\rNow here's the REAL DRAMA: On the day of rehearsal, the catering director broke the “unexpected situation” news to us. A couple had booked their wedding reception next to the room where we will be having our ceremony. Yes, WE WERE NOTIFIED TWO DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. Don't you think she should notify us about this situation sooner? She has our email addresses and phone number, but she didn’t bother to inform us. And we booked the venue SEVEN MONTHS AGO. So, so much for all the schedule and logistics planning, the catering director \"suggested\" us to move our ceremony schedule forward to start at least 15-20 minutes early to avoid the noise from the crowd next door. We accommodated; after all, I don't think anyone wants to hear someone laughing and giggling next door when your biggest \"I DO\" moment comes at the altar. \rHowever, she didn't take into account that this change of moving our ceremony schedule forward would also mean that everything scheduled after the ceremony is also pushed forward. So this is what happened: After the ceremony was over (which was about 40 minutes ahead of schedule), our guests were supposed to be heading to the cocktail room for cocktail hour. Guess what?! Their staff blocked the entrance and refused to let our guests in but kept on saying, \"The room is not available and open until 6:00 pm (which was when it supposed to be IF we get to stick with our original schedule)\" and told our guests to leave. What's worst was that the catering director, when we needed her the most to sort out the chaos, was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! We asked her assistant and other manager and the only answer was \"Oh She stepped out and will be back.\" So the chaos continued -- Some of our guests ended up in the other couple’s cocktail room that was next to our ceremony room and their guests ended up in our cocktail room when they finally opened up our room. \rI don't have a doubt that the catering director of the country club is a capable person, but the fact she hid the information about cocktail/reception will be next to our ceremony room till our rehearsal day made me question about their business morale. We were giving no choice but to take whatever she suggested was quite upsetting. I just think this is VERY NOT cool. \rThe nightmare continued. The day after our wedding, we got a call from the catering director telling to pick up our stuff. It was all fine except later in the evening, just when we were on our way to the big thank-you dinner with our family, the catering manager called again and told us that they gave us the wrong left-over cake. It belonged to the other couple. \rYes, we could be just one of the few unfortunate couples. Yet, lesson behind the whole ordeal is, to all future brides-to-be, have the catering director write down everything she tells you and ask for a copy. Be sure to tell her, IF SOMEONE'S BOOKING THE ROOM NEXT TO YOUR CEREMONY, YOU WANT TO KNOW IT IMMEDIATELY. All in all, I thank them for the chaos they created and this unpleasant experience.
