Varda Ratner(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-09-2022 It was a beautiful wedding for each of the spaces that we used - one for an outdoor ceremony, one for the cocktail hour, and one for the dinner/reception. Everything was handled professionally, the food was delicious and service was excellent! Reviewed on 09-11-2022
Christina C(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-04-2023 This property is gorgeous but communication was lacking. Shortly after I signed my contract here my event coordinator left the company and I had to keep messaging random people to get assigned another one. Every question I asked took months to get a reply and that was with me having to contact management and bosses and it was still like pulling teeth for any simple answer. Though I did eventually get another coordinator who was nice and responsive, the other departments were not. Reviewed on 24-01-2023
Rachel Moore(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-03-2022 We had our wedding on the Esparza Lawn & Reception in the La Cantera Ballroom, and everything was perfect! Tiffany was our event manager, she & the staff were great and easy to work with. We are still receiving compliments about how great the food was, & overall how much our guest loved the resort. Having everything in one location made the day so easy, I was actually able to enjoy it rather than worry about the details. Thank you so much La Cantera! Reviewed on 05-05-2022
Kiley Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-10-2021 Gayle Wolfe was our shining star! She was fun to work with and made planning our wedding a dream come true! Gayle and her team went to great heights to help relocate our reception last minute due to the change in weather. Thank you for your support, wonderful memories and overall great experience. For the Venue, we had a number of people who contributed to a wonderful, relaxing weekend. The food (at multiple locations) was amazing and the service was top notch! The Pool and Spa was the icing on our cake! Thank you to everyone at La Cantera who was apart of our wedding week! Reviewed on 10-10-2021
Tran Trinh(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-05-2021 Our wedding was suppose to happen during snovid weekend and Nikki was constantly checking in to make sure we were still going through with our wedding. I’m sure things were just as hectic for her off the clock, but she remained in contact as often as possible. It wasn’t until two days before our original wedding date 2/20/21 that Nikki had to inform us that the resort did not have water and would not be able to host. She was very sympathetic to how I was feeling and worked with my coordinator Nikki Olivares (myforeverbyNikki) to make sure we had the earliest date possible. The team at La Cantera Resort were very accommodating to our situation. The day of the wedding: Nikki, the chef, and everyone on the team at La Cantera Resort were very accommodating especially since we were asking for foods, dessert, drinks, and traditions that they weren’t very familiar with. Nikki and her team made sure things ran as smoothly as possible and they went above and beyond to do what we asked and much more! The customer service was impeccable. Being a Vietnamese couple, food was the most important factor in our reception. No-one could tell that it was the first time La Cantera hosted a vietnamese style wedding with 8 traditional courses! We received compliments left and right from all of our guests on how amazing the food is (which I whole heartedly agree with) and when we told them that it was their in house chef and it was his first time catering to a vietnamese wedding, everyone was shocked. With the team from La Cantera and my wedding coordinator, I was mostly stress free. My family, friends, and wedding party didn’t have to worry about anything except to enjoy my wedding. I know most people don’t want to redo their wedding because of the stress, but I would relive this day over and over again. I highly highly recommend hosting your wedding here. They can help make anything possible! Reviewed on 24-08-2021

Devyn Phalen(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2019 La Cantera was the perfect venue for my wedding. We used El Fortin Lawn for the ceremony, the foyer for cocktail hour, and the La Cantera Ballroom for the reception. The grounds are beautiful, inside and out. My one complaint would be that there was a new sales associate midway through our wedding planning, and we were unaware. We were unable to get a hold of anybody for a few weeks. HOWEVER- once someone did take over (Shannon Boland), they did an exceptional job! Shannon was extremely helpful and a great person to go to with any questions. Overall, my experience with La Cantera was great!! Highly recommend if you are seeking an elegant & more upscale wedding venue. Reviewed on 06-11-2019
Robbie Suris(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-10-2019 I held my son's rehearsal dinner at La Cantera this past weekend and it was everything I had envisioned it to be! Thank you Shannon for helping me plan the dinner you were great. I was a little nervous when you had to leave on maternity leave right before our event but Meghan Queen went far beyond her job description helping me to secure lighting and setting up early so that I could do the flowers and get to the rehearsal on time. To the chef and kitchen the food was not only tasty but beautiful and service was wonderful. I also had 50 guests staying in the hotel as well as myself. The wedding block division of the hotel for weddings needs some improvement. I have had 2 weddings in 2 cities and wedding blocks in 4 hotels so if corporate would like some suggestions I am happy to contribute some advice in this area but you have every reason to be proud of your property and the LaCantera staff they are 5 star! Edie Watson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-11-2018 Henry Uribe was our contact from initial inquiry to the very end of our perfect wedding weekend - yup I said weekend! He facilitated the entirety of our rehearsal on Friday, complete with chairs in the actual location of our stunning Esparza Lawn outdoor ceremony. He also was there for the complete duration of our wedding on Saturday - including coming to the bridal-get-ready suite to see how I was doing and asked if he could get or help with anything. Lastly, he put together all accommodations for our Sunday post-wedding brunch for our guests. Flawless does not even hold a candle to the experience my husband and I felt we received with Henry and the stellar La Cantera staff. The food and drinks at all 3 events were (and still are) raved about. The facilities and luxurious accommodations for us and our guests is so far above what we had expected, we’re truly still in awe. After our literally-nothing-remotely-went-wrong perfect wedding day, my husband and I arrived in our honeymoon suite to find a chilled bottle of prosecco with two flutes, a hearty helping of each of our cakes (which we didn't get a chance to eat at the reception we were dancing so much!) with silverware. Every tiny detail that no other venue would have considered to provide, Henry did. Planning with him the last year and a half was a breeze. He provided an internet based editable venue space layout that made envisioning and planning our day incredibly easy. We threw a couple of last minute curve balls at him (such as forgetting to include my husband and I in our plated meal count, oops!!) and he took each in stride and ensured we were taken care of. He is a calm, warm presence and is truly gifted at what he does. Our day was perfect thanks to his endless efforts. Additionally, the La Cantera staff as a whole is a force to be reckoned with. From the bellhops who took our many decor boxes from the valet to our Friday night suite to our bridal suite to the reception site then back to the bridal suite - all with a smile and incredible personalities, to the valet staff who recognized both my parents AND my husband’s parents upon departure (at different times) who asked \"How did everything go?!\" we are just simply floored. The number of guests that were vacationing in La Cantera during our wedding weekend was immense but because the grounds are so well thought out and spread out, we never felt like there was a crowd at all at any point during the weekend. The only tip off I had that there was quite a bit of people was by checking out the kids pool during the day on Friday! Other than that, no one would have known they were hosting so many people! Bravo team La Cantera, you gave us the fairy tale wedding day and weekend we had always dreamed of. We couldn't be more thankful to have chosen the best option out there. Even better, we can't wait to vacation at La Cantera again to relive the love and attention we felt over our wedding weekend!! Reviewed on 14-11-2018

Claudia Ellis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2018 I honestly can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else. This place is GORGEOUS, my guests can't stop talking about the beauty of this resort. We had a wedding of about 90 people, ceremony in El Fortin Lawn and reception in La Cantera Ballroom. This place deserves more than 5 stars! We initially booked our wedding at the Westin downtown (partly because this resort was still under renovation) and although we lost much of our deposit from getting out of our contract, it was well worth it! Henry, Jenica and Jesus are hands down the best team to work with!!!! Reviewed on 03-10-2018
Sarah S(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-04-2017 The venue is gorgeous and we enjoyed working with the event coordinator there. Overall it was a beautiful place for our wedding. I was disappointed, however, that with the top-dollar (and it is top-dollar) price tag, getting a steamer in the \"bridal suite\" was a massive hassle - the staff acted like they'd never had a bride request a steamer before. The stand mic we ordered for the ceremony didn't work, so I guess they set it up improperly and didn't bother to test it (again, not what you'd expect for the $$$). And we were nickel-and-dimed over guest rooms for my family despite writing them a check for ~$30k+ for a single event. It would have been nice to be given a break over the rooms. Brittney Anderson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2017 Amazing! We held our wedding reception at La Cantera Resort on June 3, 2017. Our reception was in the La Cantera Ballroom for approximately 200 guests. It was the perfect size for us! From the moment you arrive at the resort to the moment you leave, the employees make you feel so special and so welcome. We worked with Jenica and she is fantastic! She was so helpful the day of the reception and she made sure to have the vendors change anything we wanted while we were getting ready for the day. She went out of the way to make sure we had a stress free day. We also had quite a few boxes of small decorations, favors, etc., and she was so happy to set those out for us. Since we booked at La Cantera, our meal was provided through the resort. Oh My Goodness! The food is absolutely AMAZING! Our guests are still talking about how good it was. The cook and staff did an outstanding job. Great experience all around. Reviewed on 27-07-2017
Lindsey Springer(not set)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2016 We recently got married at La Cantera Hill Country Resort -- our Ceremony at the Esparza Lawn and our Reception at The Palmer Golf Course Clubhouse & Patio. Everything was absolutely beautiful, and working with Amanda Pacheco was fabulous. She was extremely kind, and very attentive/responsive for the most part (obviously she was very busy, as our wedding took place during the high season). The food was incredible, staff was wonderful, the bar service was fantastic and everyone had a great time. We got lucky with beautiful weather, and our guests were extremely impressed by the resort. I only have a few gripes, although I can't complain too much because it turned out to be an incredible weekend: (1) The main reason we picked La Cantera was to have our wedding outdoors, overlooking the Texas Hill Country (we're based in Houston). We loved the Esparza Lawn, although the resort was going through renovations so the lawn was not level and the grass was dying in quite a few places. We were assured that it would be leveled and completely fixed/taken care our by our wedding date, which was just under a year away from our first visit. Unfortunately this was not the case, and it disappointed us that the lawn was not fixed as promised (especially because it has the potential to be absolutely stunning). I know this is a call that has to be made by top management, so I am sympathetic to the fact that it takes time to get these things done. (2) Setting up our Rooms Contract was a bit confusing, and not very transparent. I never felt like I got a full explanation of how the process truly worked, and I felt like I constantly had to monitor the rooming situation so no one got charged more than they should, and so my family did not end up getting stuck with a large bill for rooms we couldn't fill. Dealing with the rooming situation was probably one of the more taxing parts of planning our wedding, as we were required to fill a minimum amount of rooms or else we would get charged (which I'm assuming is normal for many resorts). Its very stressful because its impossible to see into the future and know what your guests will do. Unfortunately, I felt like it was another way to take advantage of wedding clients' wallets when they're already spending so much money at the resort in the first place--by trapping them with a Rooms Contract that isn't 100% clear. Luckily we were able to fill our minimum, but a few times I had to ask La Cantera to fix issues that my guests would run in to (hidden fees that weren't supposed to be there or didn't make sense, etc.). (3) We absolutely fell in LOVE with The Palmer Patio for our reception. Little did we know (or were told) that the Patio (right off the Clubhouse) doesn't have enough power to necessarily hold a wedding reception. It would have been nice to know up-front so we could have budgeted from the beginning. When we started to nail down details, we were told that we need to get certain generators/etc. to be able to power the band, lighting, etc. We were referred to their in-house power company, which billed us for about $3,000 for generators.. which is quite a lot of money out of the budget. You can try to rent your own, but its a very inconvenient process and you need specific \"quiet\" generators. Luckily we were able to get the bill down some, but that bill came as a surprise.Other than those issues, it was a dream -- we sincerely thank La Cantera for hosting our wedding weekend! Christina Xenophontos(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2016 If I could double the amount of stars on here I would! First off let me start by saying that we had a very difficult time finding a small enough venue for our wedding. Including ourselves we had a total guest count of 40 people and wanted a reception location that wasn't the bottom floor meeting room of a hotel. We had our party in the Palo Duro room which was it's own stand alone hall building with it's own parking lot so my guests and I weren't disturbed by the other wedding at the location. My catering manager was Jenica and she was absolutely amazing! I mean since we booked the venue in early May we have been communicating with one another until the day of. She was extremely responsive to all of my questions and concerns and didn't leave any matters unattended until I was completely satisfied. She constantly kept me up to date with any changes or ideas that she could think of and made the wedding planning so easy on me. She was very polite, respectful, and helpful beyond words. I was running late the morning of my wedding and did not have a wedding coordinator so she helped me set up some of my small decorations so I could get ready in time. Anytime I needed to come to the resort for either bridal shots or to test out my own audio set up she made sure that I was beyond taken care of. The room we stayed in for the night was beautiful and she payed attention to small things we liked like chocolate strawberries and Moscato wine. I swear she is some sort of super planner because everything went smoothly and she stayed around to make sure we were all taken care of. And the views are just gorgeous! If my family lived down here I'd have them all make their events at this place. Reviewed on 12-10-2016
