Wow - absolutely STUNNING place to have a wedding and 5 star support from the event staff. Bobby and Rebecca were absolutely amazing to work with, very responsive and just all around rock stars. They were incredible partners to us, and very flexible as plans with weddings will inevitably evolve. The food was absolutely amazing, I was blown away. Guests kept coming up to us the day of and after (some even weeks after!!) telling us how good the food was. The Valencia team is absolutely the best, and I cannot imagine having our wedding without this incredible group of people who made it happen!

The convenience they provided by including tables, chairs, linens, food, drinks, and more made the entire process seamless and stress-free.A significant highlight of our experience at La Valencia was working with Bobby, their exceptional director. Bobby's positive attitude and prompt responses to all our questions made the planning journey less about stress and more enjoyable. He was incredibly accommodating, even when faced with last-minute requests and changes to our package. His dedication and flexibility truly stood out and contributed to the smooth execution of our wedding day.As a wedding venue, La Valencia is nothing short of stunning. The ocean-view ceremony was a breathtaking backdrop, making it well worth the journey for our out-of-town guests. The inclusion of getting ready suites, and a honeymoon suite (features not offered by many venues), added an extra layer of convenience and to our experience.I truly wish I could relive the entire day because of the magical atmosphere created by this venue. Everything about La Valencia is amazing. Our wedding day was truly special. La Valencia is a beautiful venue with outstanding food for the reception. Our guests were blown away by how delicious the food was and how gorgeous and unique the venue is.However, I wouldn't say it was smooth sailing. Bobby was incredibly difficult to work with, excessively bossy, and the source of much stress. Our day-of main POC through La Valencia, Rebecca, was no where to be found the day-of, and I actually didn't meet her until after the first dance, when she came to tell me she was leaving. We had a fruit fly infestation, clogged sink, and the electric in the bridal suite did not work, and she was unresponsive. IF your wedding is going to be 100 people or less, I would absolutely recommend La Valencia. However, the space is not suited for larger parties. We had 120 and it was tight. If you're considering La Valencia keep these things in mind: -their default tables & chairs are very ugly and dated, you will need to rent your own which can be expensive. -their service charges add considerably to the cost -think about layout for your guest totals and consider how you will use the available space, given the awkward columns and lower ceilings in the ballroom. Overall, i'm happy I had my wedding at La Valencia because the photos are beautiful and the memories my guests walked away with are of a lovely meal. However, I think if I did it again, I would choose a venue with better in-house options for chairs, tables, and a better service team.

Where to even start with La Valencia! We just hosted our wedding at La Valencia this past weekend and it is truly the BEST venue to host your wedding in San Diego. Hands down. Not only is the venue and scenery beyond beautiful, you are in the hands of Bobby Fader who truly is one of a kind. He helped connect us to the best vendors in town to make our wedding dreams come to life. Guests are still commenting on how delicious the food was, the level of service and over experience. If you want a classy, not cookie cutter, intimate, beyond beautiful venue with ocean views, look no further! We had such a magical wedding weekend because of La V and will now have the most beautiful place to go to celebrate all our anniversaries!! We had our wedding in July 2023 at La Valencia with a group of about a 100. The pink hotel itself is a selling point with its romantic feel, beautiful atmosphere, and a gorgeous backdrop. However, their staff and catering were even more phenomenal. Bobby Fader, the catering director, was attentive and communicative. The staff were able to accommodate our needs for a tea ceremony in the morning of the wedding, providing hot water for our tea and letting us set up in the bridal suite early. Lastly, the food that the hotel catering offers is delicious. All the compliments after the wedding were predominantly on how tasty the dishes were from the lobster bisque to the vegetarian eats to the steak. Weâd recommend this location for those who want an idyllic backdrop to their wedding and top-notch catering.

I CANNOT say enough amazing things about La Valencia. As soon as we toured the space with Bobby, we were certain this was the perfect place for us to get married. It is a stunning space that has been well maintained over the years and has a historic charm without feeling at all dated. Bobby and Isabella were amazing to work with. All of our guests commented not only on how beautiful the hotel was but also how amazing the food was! I know wedding food can get a bad rep but La Valencia does it right! It was also really helpful to be able to have access to the getting ready spaces all day (not all venues we toured offered this). We also wanted to extend our time an extra hour to do a silent disco and Bobby was very helpful in making that happen for us - it turned out to be such a hit! Wow! We still canât believe how great everything was at our wedding đ We feel so lucky to have been able to share our day with our closest family, friends and fur babies at such an incredible venue. After our virtual meeting and tour with Bobby, we immediately decided La Valencia was the place for us. We wanted a venue with Spanish architecture, ocean view, great food and drinks, a welcoming environment for our two small dogs and a professional service team. La Valencia checked all these boxes and more! As a bonus, you really donât need to spend much on dĂ©cor because the venue is so beautiful! We live north of the border and were on a tight timeline, so we booked the venue based off our virtual tour and meeting. When we finally met Bobby at La Valencia in person a month before the wedding, we were even more excited for our day! Bobby made sure all was in order leading up to the wedding. Isabella took care of all the things we needed during the day. Ian, our banquet captain, was on top of everything at the cocktail hour and reception. The signature drinks and hors d'oeuvres were sooooo good and the dinner was incredible. The chef could not have done better. Everything from portion size to flavour was spot on. Guests have requested the cocktail recipes and mentioned it was the best steak they have ever had!From our first meeting with Booby over Zoom to our departure the day after the wedding, the level of service we received was beyond anything we could have imagined. We really canât thank the team at La Valencia enough for making our day incredibly beautiful and special.  TLDR: Have your wedding at La Valencia, it will be amazing!

Bobby and Isabella were so fantastic to work with, answering any questions I had over the 1.5 years of planning our wedding! Most importantly, the wedding day was incredible. La Valencia was a dream come true!Our wedding planner scheduled our initial tour with Bobby. Bobby was awesome giving us a thorough tour and answering all our questions. Once we decided on La Valencia for our wedding we worked mainly with Isabella on all the details. Isabella was also awesome! The service we received during the planning process was everything we expected and more! Prompt and professional responses to all emails and questions. Our experience at the food tastings was exceptional! Best meal weâd ever had and we couldnât believe the wedding food could be that delicious. And it was!! We checked in to the hotel a couple days before the wedding and received the red carpet treatment from the moment we arrived. Valet guys were so friendly and helpful. Front desk crew was also wonderfully accommodating and helpful! Room service was prompt and attentive! Bartenders in the lobby were friendly, fast and made delicious cocktails!On wedding day, Bobby was constantly checking in with the bridal suite and the groomâs room to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Dinner service was just as exceptional as everything else!The service at La Valencia truly exceeded all expectations from top to bottom⊠they really think of everything!! Bobby and Isabella are the dream team!!! Made us feel so special!! If youâve never been to La Valencia, the pictures do not lie. If anything, they donât do justice to its beauty. La Valencia Hotel was our dream wedding venue and the staff went above and beyond to make our day extra special (as well as the days leading up to the ceremony)! Bobby Fader held our hand every step of the way! His experience, knowledge, and hospitality guided us and made sure our perfect day was perfect! As a bride, there was not one thing I was nervous about because the setup for the day was seamless! It was absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing! Isabella was also extremely helpful with recommendations for food, stay, and special requests. Highly highly recommend and the venue/staff did not disappoint!

Our wedding at La Valencia Hotel was more than we wished for, from the friendly staff, prompt response from the hotel wedding coordinator and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The food was excellent and of the best quality. For the price we truly got everything, from the ceremony space, cocktail, and reception room; all was included for a nominal fee. The bridal suite was so spacious and had everything a bride could need and then some. I can continue raving about La Valencia, but I'll stop now.

Everyone who works at this hotel is fantastic!!My now husband and I already had our wedding planned. We were in La Jolla finalizing plans when my husband saw the La Valencia golf cart. We went in just to look and met the concierge Mark. He sold us! We then spoke to Bobby about availability. Bobby was lovely! We canceled our other venue and went to La Valencia. Best decision! Bobby was so attentive the day of also. We stayed in one of the suites for our honeymoon and the room was lovely! EVERYONE from the event manager to valet was great! The valet were SO kind and accommodating. 5 STARS!

Everyone who works at this hotel is fantastic!!My now husband and I already had our wedding planned. We were in La Jolla finalizing plans when my husband saw the La Valencia golf cart. We went in just to look and met the concierge Mark. He sold us! We then spoke to Bobby about availability. Bobby was lovely! We canceled our other venue and went to La Valencia. Best decision! Bobby was so attentive the day of also. We stayed in one of the suites for our honeymoon and the room was lovely! EVERYONE from the event manager to valet was great! The valet were SO kind and accommodating. 5 STARS!

The La Valencia Hotel is my favorite in San Diego and their team is top notch! Bobby and Isabella were extremely professional and super fun at the same time. They made the planning such a breeze. We loved doing the tasting with them and the food was outstanding - seriously! They have a broad menu that will definitely work for people of all different types of budgets and had a very reasonable minimum for the buyout of the ballroom. Finally, the service through cocktail hour and dinner was outstanding. We paid a little more for wine to be served throughout dinner and it was so worth it! Overall, it was a perfect day at the beautiful La Valencia Hotel!

Words can't describe the exceptional service we received from our La Valencia wedding dream team, Bobby and Isabella. From the moment we met Bobby via Facetime, he made us feel at ease and comfortable to ask questions. Planning a wedding from Miami to San Diego was not easy and any time I needed to speak to someone from the team, they were responsive and attentive the whole way through. Bobby and Isabella's attention to detail was remarkable, from planning to rehearsal to lovely notes and gifts in our honeymoon suite, we were spoiled the entire weekend. On our wedding day, the staff was very accommodating and professional, and the hotel was pet friendly which was great for our little Oliver who was part of the wedding. The location itself is out of a movie, the minute you walk in you are greeted by beautiful Spanish architecture amidst the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, there is nothing like it and our guests were blown away by the views and food, which by the way was delicious! La Valencia made our wedding about us, they made sure we were taken care of and they were flexible with our cultural requirements. Our pictures came out incredible and we were even personally escorted by Bobby to the cliffs for the most breathtaking sunset shots by the water. Bobby and Isabella welcomed us with open arms, and it was so easy to trust them, they truly were so happy for my husband and I, you could feel their excitement for our wedding day. You will not regret having your wedding at La Valencia, it was an absolute DREAM.

La Valencia was a dream venue. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous (ocean backdrop, perfect location, gorgeous ballroom, etc., etc.), but the team at La V is just as special. We worked with Bobby and Isabella and they were both tremendous. From the various tours, calls, walkthroughs, and tastings, we started to feel less like clients and more like family. Bobby was onsite and available on our wedding day. He was so kind, encouraging, and attentive. He even shuttled us down to the beach for photos in the adorable pink La Valencia golf cart. I cannot recommend this venue enough. It is STUNNING and the team at La V will ensure your wedding dreams are exceeded.

I cannot speak highly enough of La Valencia - they completely made our wedding weekend! From the moment we met Bobby and toured the beautiful property (the views!) we were sold. Bobby was so responsive and helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process as well. Both my husband and I are in residency and relied heavily on Bobby's expertise and recommendations for most of our vendors - we ended up loving everyone. On the actual wedding day, my bridesmaids and I were treated so well and I didn't have to worry about any of the details because they have it down to a science at the hotel. All of our guests raved about the food and the service on the wedding day - from the champagne when guests walked in until the end of the night. We ended up having brunch the day following the wedding on the Med patio which went off without a hitch and was equally as delicious. We're a month or so out from our wedding and people are still sending us notes about how much they loved the wedding. Overall, we could not be happier with our decision to get married at La Valencia and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, iconic venue with exceptional views, food and most importantly service! We will be back to celebrate our anniversary I'm sure.

The iconic location alone is enough to draw you in - right next to the ocean, in the heart of La Jolla with those stunning views and so much to do in the area. We had lots of friends & family coming in from afar, so having a place to stay with lots to do nearby was key for us. We fell in love at first sight on our tour with Bobby in 2021. He & Isabella have been nothing short of amazing all throughout the process! We had a family dinner the night before the big day at The Med, which was so convenient & the food was just perfect! One thing about weddings - the food is NEVER good, but all the food at La V was absolutely incredible - everyone raved about it! âThe best steak Iâve ever hadâ was a common one, along with âThat cauliflower steak was amazing!â. When we checked in, we had two prosecos & some fruits with a handwritten card letting us know to reach out for anything we might need during our stay. After our ceremony, Bobby even took us to a prime spot for ocean photos!! :D And at the end of our wedding night, we even had a bottle of champagne in our room with a congratulations box of Sugarfina candies nearby and another hand written card of congratulations. We enjoyed that bottle the following day by the pool with some friends. So on top of the amazing location, the convenience of having a wedding at a hotel, the beautiful views, incredible ceremony & reception, and delicious food & drinks, we were truly treated like royalty. There are just so many perks to having a wedding here - we can even come back to celebrate our anniversaries, and plan to do so!! We would play that whole weekend on repeat if we could!!

9/23/22 will forever be the best day of our lives and it would not have been possible without Bobby and the entire La Valencia team! There are endless reasons to have a wedding at La Valencia but Iâll share some of our favorites:- LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! We are from out of state and so were most of our guests and La Jolla was the perfect place to host our family and friends for a destination wedding. La Valencia is in the center of everything the village of La Jolla has and none of our guests even had to rent cars unless they wanted to leave the village- the garden for ceremony was the biggest draw of the venue! Itâs intimate and you get an ocean view! I will say that itâs a smaller space so I recommend it for weddings up to ~120 (we had 107 total)- the food! We have attended ALOT of weddingsâŠand trust me when I tell you that La Valenciaâs food was the best by far. The entree portions are bigger than most venues and absolutely delicious. They were also extremely accommodating to the dietary needs of both me as the bride and other guests. If you are gluten free/dairy free and looking for a venue to accommodate you then La Valencia is a must. - the bridal suite: what an absolutely perfect set up for a bride and her bridal party to get ready! The suite is right next to the ceremony location and ballroom which made things so convenient for myself, my bridesmaids, and my coordinator to be in and out of during the evening. It also is included in the cost so donât have to factor in paying for a hotel room to get ready in! If you are having a small or mid size wedding in Southern California do not walk, RUN to La Valencia. There were so many more things we loved and could go on for hours about the phenomenal service, beauty of the venue, and overall convenience of the entire wedding planning process! We will leave it with a huge thank you again to Bobby, Isabella, and every additional staff member!

La Valencia Hotel was the site of not one but TWO dream weddings. We had a small covid ceremony and then a large reception here. First of all, the setting is just stunning. Gorgeous beach views, amazing ballroom and deck, and stunning and unique hotel. Also the staff (especially Bobby who was just incredible) were so responsive and accommodating. They truly made our wedding day special and were so responsive and easy to work with over the three years we planned our two events. Also the bridal suite was just beautiful and such a nice place to spend the morning getting ready. I had 8 bridesmaids and my mom and mother in law and I and we all hung out there and got our hair and makeup done no problem. The hotel stuff truly made us feel like royalty on our wedding day, checking if we needed drinks re-filled, and special touches like our favorite drink in our room. Also the food at our wedding was SPECTACULAR. All our guests said it was the best food at any wedding they have ever had. Our experience could not have been better. We look forward to returning to La Valencia to celebrate anniversary for years to come.

Our wedding was absolutely wonderful and a lot of it has to do with how well organized (not to mention gorgeous) La Valencia is. I highly recommend La Valencia for your wedding. Do it!

We absolutely loved La Valencia, we are Orange County natives but found this boutique hotel via an instagram host. When we went to do a site visit, we fell in love with Bobby, catering director and his passion for what he does. We were in the midst of covid but his service and venueâs policies gave us the reassurance that we were in good hands. Throughout the entire planning process he was quick to respond to all my emails and was helpful with vendor recommendations as I am not familiar with the San Diego area. The venue itself is breathtaking! It has Mediterranean vibes but the pink exterior and beach views give it a unique twist and so many different nooks and areas to get beautiful wedding pictures. Their food IS TO DIE FOR. My husband and I are food snobs and it was important to us that our meal was delicious as our guests were traveling from far away. Every dish came out hot to serve and they serve farm to table so everything is fresh. Their food presentation is beyond anything I have ever seen at any wedding. All my guests raved about our food and that it was the best steak/salmon theyâve tried. Even our cocktail hors d'oeuvres were amazing. We loved everything about our wedding night and were so happy with Bobby and La Valencia. Our wedding at La Valencia was everything we could have ever dreamed of thanks to Bobby Fader and the excellent + attentive staff at the Pink Lady- Ian, Jenny and Olivia- to name a few!!We planned our wedding from across the country and Bobby made sure we were comfortable every step of the way; he was always incredibly quick to reply to any & all of our requests (even a pretty big last minute request) with a smile on his face. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food served & the presentation in addition to the speed with which all guests were able to eat (super rare at a 100+ person wedding). Our only wish is that we could plan another wedding only to work with Bobby and the amazing staff at this amazing venue again! Highly recommend La Valencia for any San Diego bride!

Where do we even begin! La Valencia was the little slice of heaven that I knew from the moment I toured the venue that we would be getting married here. My husband and I always wanted the beach in the background, without our toes in the sand â which is exactly what you get with La Valencia and more! It is charming, beautiful, elegant, and intimate â just what we wanted for our big day. To top it off, the whole planning experience with their team was a dream â I would recommend getting married there just to have the opportunity to plan with Bobby Fader! He is a visionary and expert at what he does (and he loves doing it, which shows in his care to every detail!), and despite there being multiple events a week that heâs coordinating, he always treats you as his #1 priority. We planned our wedding in less than 6 months (and from out of town) and in each email, phone call, and meeting we were treated with the utmost care. Bobby became a good friend and confidant, giving us pointers and advice that made the planning process just so much easier than we could have ever imagined all while having so much fun and positivity in the process. He has a knack for creativity, design, and FUN, so it felt like we got extra lucky having him as a coordinator! Our day could not have happened without him and his team, hands down.Most people will tell you that there may be hiccups on your wedding day and to roll with it â well for us, everything went perfectly and exceeded our wildest expectations, without a single hiccup! The hotel treated us and our guests wonderfully and made the build up to the wedding so exciting. We even got put in a beautiful room with an unobstructed ocean view for the nights leading up to the wedding, thanks to the front desk receptionist!My husband and I woke up on our wedding morning so elated and without a worry in the world. Bobby was there to greet me and my girls in the bridal suite to make sure we had everything we needed first thing in the morning â even during the wedding, Bobby was the one who fluffed out the back of my dress right as I was about to walk down the aisle! He was also around before the event and all day to ensure our vendors had access to everything as well, which is crucial with all the moving parts of a wedding. He was there every step of the way during our big day and led an incredible team who made my husband, myself, our families, and our guests feel so special.La Valencia is already such an idyllic venue â we didnât even consider additional florals for our ceremony given the beautiful landscaping and flowers and the incredible ocean view. Each location that we hosted our events (from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception) was perfect and unique. Also the food â incredible. Our guests RAVED about the food both during the cocktail hour and at dinner (which is normally not a highlight at weddings).I cannot thank La Valencia enough for giving us the day of our dreams. My husband and I still say we wish we could relive that day and would not change a thing. Many of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever attended. I encourage anyone I know who is engaged to get married here â you will have an incredibly beautiful and memorable experience that you will forever cherish.

When I first toured LV with Bobby when I was looking for wedding venues, I immediately knew this was the right location. I had never been to a hotel quite like this one. It's a unique, charming hotel with unbeatable views of La Jolla. Bobby was super responsive and attentive from day 1, all throughout the 3 postponements that came with COVID, and until the very end, when I finally got married and read him sweet note in the honeymoon suite. The guests at my wedding could not stop telling me that this was the best wedding they had ever been to, and the location must surely have something to do with it, considering how 90% of the guests left their tables during the dinner to pose for pictures on the balcony during the beautiful La Jolla sundown. LV staff were super friendly and attentive, making all of us feel very special and well cared for. Thank you so much La Valencia for making our wedding dreams come true!

Bobby and the La Valencia team absolutely exceeded our expectations on our wedding day! They were so professional, helpful, and when we had a slight setback with our wedding coordinator, Bobby stepped in and handled every single detail. We had to move our wedding day due to Covid and he worked with us with understanding and compassion. His number one priority was the health and safety of us and our guests. He not only had the best recommendations for our cake vendor, rehearsal dinner, after party location, but on the day of the wedding, he was truly the MVP and we can't thank him and his team enough. Our guests can't stop telling us how this was the most BEAUTIFUL venue they had ever been to, and the food was absolutely incredible!! You will not regret having your wedding here. We are so in love with the hotel and couldn't have imagined having our big day anywhere else.

From the minute we toured La V during our venue search, to our check-out as a newly married couple a year and a half later, the experience of having our wedding at La V was the best we could have ever asked for. Their professionalism is unparalleled, the food is phenomenal, the location is so gorgeous and photogenic (even during \"June gloom\" weddings in San Diego!), the getting ready rooms are comfortable and perfect. The entire staff was excellent and responsive. La V is the premiere wedding venue for out-of-town guests and destination weddings in San Diego -- hands down. This hotel is such a dream location! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking with the Pacific ocean as the backdrop. It was everything I had dreamed of and so much more! The rooms were so elegant and the historical elements of the hotel are so charming! The getting ready rooms were beautiful and a fun place to hang out and get breath taking views of the ocean.Bobby and his team are top notch. They went above and beyond to help my husband and I have our special day. We were originally supposed to marry on 11 June but my husband had to deploy early so we asked to move the wedding up a week (this was about 2.5 weeks out from the original date!). Bobby and his team bent over backwards to make this happen. He responded to emails and started the coordination all while on a trip for a family wedding. He was such a pleasure and a joy to work with! Bobby, we are forever grateful for your professionalism, empathy, and dedication to making our day happen.The staff on the day of our wedding were absolutely perfect! We are so grateful and feel so lucky that we got to get married at La Valencia. It was a dream location. Yes, it was at the top of our budget but so worth it. The team was incredible from the beginning. We were a covid couple, supposed to get married in April of 2020. We had to push our date twice and LaV was so accommodating and helpful. It really felt like they were willing to do everything to make our wedding happen. It was a beautiful day, all of our guests enjoyed themselves. We couldn't thank La Valencia enough.

Bobby and the whole staff at La Valencia were incredible. They graciously worked with our changed plans when we substantially downsized our wedding. They made it feel easy even though it was a tough and emotional decision!! The food was awesome, the front desk staff was as nice as could be, and the overall service was excellent. And can we talk about the views? I mean, perfection. (And we recommend the villas!!) I will also add that, as a Black couple, sometimes we worry about how we will be treated at certain places (weâve unfortunately learned from experience). No worries here. We were never once given a reason to think or question at any time if there was an issue with us and our families being there due to our skin color. And we canât wait to go back for a future anniversary!

When we had to cancel our big wedding at another venue due to COVID-19, we were disappointed and not sure what we would do.Luckily, we found La Valencia hotel, where we were able to host a very intimate ceremony and dinner. Everyone who worked there made us feel so special and safe. They went above and beyond. With only nine of us total, and no outside coordinators, Bobby, our main La Valencia contact, helped plan a beautiful evening from start to finish. He took every last detail to heart. During our small ceremony, he even jumped in to assist with my wife's wedding dress train and arranged it to ensure it laid beautifully as she walked down the aisle. His attention to detail exemplifies his ability to make each couple he works with feels extra special. La Valencia was the only place we envisioned our wedding, and we were so thrilled about the venue from Day 1. We chose our wedding date based on the hotel's availability and thank gosh - we were married Saturday, March 7th right before everything shut down! This hotel is the most beautiful in San Diego; it is quirky and intimate, and at the same time elegant and classic. Our ceremony overlooked the water; we held our dinner in the restaurant as opposed to the ballroom - we envisioned our wedding as a 'fun dinner party' and the venue was perfect. Since La V is so colorful and beautiful, we used tons of candles and greenery to complement the aesthetic - we didn't need the decor we felt would be necessary in other more 'boring' or 'typical' wedding venues. If we could do it all over again, we would pick La V every time!

We chose our wedding date based on the hotel's availability and thank gosh - we were married Saturday, March 7th right before everything shut down! This hotel is the most beautiful in San Diego; it is quirky and intimate, and at the same time elegant and classic. Our ceremony overlooked the water; we held our dinner in the restaurant as opposed to the ballroom - we envisioned our wedding as a 'fun dinner party' and the venue was perfect. Since La V is so colorful and beautiful, we used tons of candles and greenery to complement the aesthetic - we didn't need the decor we felt would be necessary in other more 'boring' or 'typical' wedding venues. If we could do it all over again, we would pick La V every time!

All of our guests were âooohing and ahhhingâ nonstop from the moment they entered the hotel lobby, throughout the ceremony in the Jardin and the cocktail hour and reception in the Veranda Ballroom. Our wedding coordinator Cathy handled everything perfectly, paying attention to every little detail and saw to it that our ceremony and reception were flawless. Our wedding was completely stress free because of her and we could not thank her more!La Valencia was the perfect place for our very special day and I see us celebrating many more milestones here!

When we visited La V for the first time for a tour, we were blown away and instantly knew it was where we wanted to be married! There are no words to describe the unique beauty of this little gem in La Jolla. La V provided the mediterranean charm we were looking for and was the perfect setting for an even more perfect day. The finance department proceeded to charge my credit card without authorization. There are a lot of beautiful hotels in San Diego, I would recommend finding one that handles themselves more professionally and ethically.

I cannot speak highly enough of the La Valencia venue. I was actually living out of country at the time (Costa Rica) planning my La Jolla, CA wedding. And everything was seamless on our day of the wedding! More than that, I am originally from Seattle, WA and had many loved ones traveling out of state to come to the wedding. My guests all LOVED La Valencia and raved about the wedding's location for months. Not only was this vintage hotel iconic and gorgeous (with views of the California ocean coast and crystal blue skies above our ceremony site) but its location in La Jolla was so user friendly that no one needed to rent a car for the entire weekend. Easy, stress free and unforgettable. All in all- this was an incredible venue that was professional, charismatic, accommodating and romantic. Thank you for everything La V! We are so excited to return for our anniversary and have a 'staycation' for our first Valentine's Day together as Husband and Wife.

I had my wedding here and was extremely mistreated. It started when the groomsman were getting ready in the board room and there were zero refreshments as promised. One of my groomsman has to actually order room service after several attempts to get some water from our wedding staff. I should've known then. It just got worse. The first question I asked when booking the venue was if it would be cold with the AC and Bobby said yes. It was so hot on our wedding day some guests actually left because of it. Also, the water situation carried over as no water was put out for guests which resulted, seemingly purposely, in a very high bar tab. We paid more for food stations but were given a buffet with a line so long, our guests waited 30 minutes in line. The rude staff kept coming up to me directly during the reception with problems they should've handled or told the wedding planner we hired to help their wedding planner, Bobby (who wasn't there). The worst part perhaps, beyond how uncomfortable we all were, was after the fact. No one would meet with us. I tried in person twice, via phone (was told they wouldn't talk via phone because it was dangerous for me while driving) and lastly several several times via email. Not only was I dismissed, they blamed my new wife and said she was unreasonable and wanted too much. This couldn't be father from true, but if they could not do what we wanted that should've been discussed instead of just over charged for. The entire operation they run for weddings is a fail.

They were HORRIBLE! I couldnât get any water, the food was not what was ordered, the cake topper never got on the top of the cake, the donut wall was never refilled, the announcements were not clear and volume of microphones not turned up enough. DO NOT have YOUR WEDDING HERE! You will be greatly disappointed!!

As a planner, I work with La Valencia very often, and I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. Bobby, who handles weddings + events, goes above and beyond for his couples. His banquet team is flawless, and the overall hotel staff is top notch. From hosting many destination weddings to just local couples choosing this as their fave spot, La V makes each experience the best for guests and patrons. La Valencia ruined my Wedding Day. It seemed like a good idea because they do a lot of weddings and how can you go wrong with that view, but BRIDES BEWARE, this was the worst choice I've ever made. There are so many things I could tell you but I'll keep it simple and say there was NO WATER or AC at my wedding. On an 80 degree day, even though we PAID for water (right?) it was the great drought of La V. Guests could not get a drink of water anywhere, especially from the bartenders who gladly charged them $5 for a can of pop when they asked for water. Needless to say our bar tab hit our maximum unexpectedly quick. It all seemed like a scam to keep the room so hot and not have water. We also paid significantly more to have food stations but alas, it was a buffet. Wish we wouldn't paid the buffet price. The food was not only done wrong, it wasn't what we had in our tasting. Again it seemed like a scam. It was cold and scarce. Having paid the extra money and having sent Bobby exact photos of what I had in mind made it sting that much more. Since we had expected a food station, we put in our timeline our estimate for dinner but that was blown out of the water when people stood in line for an HOUR. That threw the rest of our wedding timeline so off that we had to skip many events. Even if we stayed longer, many people left due to the heat and thirst. So many other things which I'm happy to tell you if you'd like, but just to name a few:Children were given champagne mixed up with adults given apple juicethe bartender refused to hand my mother a can of $5 soda at 8:30 saying they were \"about to close up\" even though we had paid them (27% gratuity might I add) until 9:30.They lost my bridesmaid's dress at the front desk.Bobby, the wedding planner wasn't even there. Literally did not come to the wedding.We requested umbrellas that were not put up and then they lied to the groom telling him that I told them to take them down and not tell him.But perhaps the last part is important, they completely dismissed us and refused to meet with us when we tried in person, on the phone and lastly via email. Just plain refused. They offered us $1,000 and were bluntly rude even calling me hard to deal with. I'm completely shocked and offended by the way this establishment was run. We felt like an afterthought, a Sunday wedding they didn't care about and because they have a nice place with an ocean view, customer service didn't matter at all. DO NOT HAVE YOUR EVENT HERE.

My husband and I both live in San Diego but most of guests were coming from out of town for the wedding. We wanted to have the quintessential San Diego wedding in a location where guests would not need a car. La Valencia met those requirements but the overall experience of our wedding day was so much more than that. We got married in November and the weather was perfect as it often is in San Diego. The guests from the east coast were all awed by the beautiful hotel, the weather, and basically set up shop at the pool for weekend. The hotel really is a beautiful venue with the outdoor courtyard overlooking the ocean for the ceremony and the reception area with the outdoor balcony. I can not think of a more ideal spot for wedding pictures as we took pictures all over the hotel as well as going down to the ocean cove for seaside pics as well. People could not stop talking about the food at the wedding from the cocktail hour appetizers to the meal choices for the dinner. Bobby from La Valencia is great and makes you feel like family when you are at the hotel. We could not ask for anything more on our special day and the hotel will always hold a special place in our hearts. We look forward to many more days spent at La Valencia.

We loved that our guests would get to experience the multiple restaurants, pool, and unique rooms at the LV and be within walking distance of La Jolla village. For the actual wedding, we were excited to take advantage of the view and multiple restaurant/patio areas at the LV. One benefit we couldnât of anticipated was how wonderful it was to plan a wedding here. Bobby, the Events Coordinator, is amazing and will make sure that your vision becomes reality. He was so helpful throughout the planning process and always willing to answer questions (and with a smile). He even offered us a beautiful suite for the wedding weekend that was perfect for me and my eight bridesmaids to get ready in. The rest of the LV staff was wonderful as well and really made us feel special during our stay. We canât wait to go back for our one-year anniversary!

It's a 'one stop shop' complete with ocean view, beautiful ceremony location, vintage ballroom, cocktail verandah and the food and drink is exquisite. Don't waste your time trying to manage a caterer, a bartender AND a venue. Everything you need is here. Our guests raved about every part of our day. If I had to do everything all over, I wouldn't change a single thing. A few perks are: There is a special bridal parlor for you and your bridesmaids to get ready in, you and your groom have the honeymoon suite for the night and at your one year anniversary, the hotel staff is amazing, and the event coordinator, Bobby Fader was perfect to work with. Everywhere we turned, we saw someone we loved, the beautiful ocean, fantastic service, amazing food, and awesome drink. If florals are a huge detail as you plan, keep in mind, your cost decreases just because the hotel and scenery are so perfect. I do not have a single negative to say, and if I had all the money in the world, I would get married there every weekend just for the flawless experience. Book it now, the dates go fast. La Valencia was the perfect spot for our wedding. We had everyone coming from out of town and the location of La V is perfect. There is so much to do and see all in walking distance. La V itself is absolutely gorgeous and the views are unbeatable. My bridesmaids and I got to have our makeup done overlooking the ocean on a perfect sunny San Diego day. The food is phenomenal. We live nearby and love to go for brunch. We got so many compliments on the apps and the food. Bobby is AMAZING. He was so fun and easy to work with. He is the only part of wedding planning that isn't stressful. I literally can't say enough great things about Bobby and La V--- you'd be foolish to choose anywhere else once you've seen La V and met Bobby.

We had our wedding at La Valencia in December of 2015 and are so happy we chose that location. The setting itself was beautiful and didn't require a lot of decor in my opinion (beyond the flowers for the reception and ceremony locations). The hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays which was a bonus. Our guests loved the venue. \rOn to the coordination- Bobby Fader was outstanding as the onsite coordinator from start to finish. He communicated all the crucial information right off the bat and was there to answer any questions we had along the way. Bobby runs a well oiled machine as everything was taken care of on time and to the best standards. During the weekend of the wedding and day-of everything went smoothly and Bobby was there to handle anything that came up. He popped his head in from time to time to check on us, which was comforting. He also made sure we had drinks in our hands prior to our reception entrance :) He's a gem. \rAs for the food and drink, our guests loved it. I was pleased to see that the food that was served at the wedding was every bit as delicious as the food we received at the tasting. We selected the filet, swordfish and market vegetables and all were great. The wine selection was also wonderful.\rWe used a few suggested vendors and that made the process really smooth (even for our vendors that weren't suggested, had no problems with access or setup). \rFor our guests staying onsite and the wedding party, it was really convenient to have everything they needed right at the hotel or close by in downtown LJ. To Parents of the Bride - \r\rWithout hesitation plan your event at La Valencia! My daughter's wedding was held on June 20, 2015 and it was absolutely incredible. La Valencia is a breathtaking location. The ceremony is set on a charming courtyard with the ocean as a background. The food and service is top of the line. My guests were raving, and calls came in after the event about how terrific the food tasted and the presentation. All of the appetizers had unique flavors, our crab cake starter was great and our entrees arrived hot, bountiful and visually very appetizing. We provided an option of fillet, shrimp with couscous and vegetarian. Everything was top quality. When selecting a high end hotel this is what you should expect and La Valencia completely succeeded.\r\rHowever the most important reason to select La Valencia is Bobby Fader, the catering manager! Bobby will make sure that the wedding experience exceeds your exceptions and that the bride stays happy! Bobby is beyond incredible; he genuinely cares about all the details. Bobby was always prompt at returning every call and email. We wanted an after party with smore's and craft beers - Bobby creatively found a classy and fun way to set this up. Working with Bobby this year is what would bring me back to La Valencia. He is gracious, responsible and your wedding will be of the utmost importance to him. \r\rI have planned many large scale events at high end hotels. This is the first time I have ever written a review - it is because of Bobby. Bobby is one-of-a-kind and he will make sure your event is magical. \r\r

To Parents of the Bride - \r\rWithout hesitation plan your event at La Valencia! My daughter's wedding was held on June 20, 2015 and it was absolutely incredible. La Valencia is a breathtaking location. The ceremony is set on a charming courtyard with the ocean as a background. The food and service is top of the line. My guests were raving, and calls came in after the event about how terrific the food tasted and the presentation. All of the appetizers had unique flavors, our crab cake starter was great and our entrees arrived hot, bountiful and visually very appetizing. We provided an option of fillet, shrimp with couscous and vegetarian. Everything was top quality. When selecting a high end hotel this is what you should expect and La Valencia completely succeeded.\r\rHowever the most important reason to select La Valencia is Bobby Fader, the catering manager! Bobby will make sure that the wedding experience exceeds your exceptions and that the bride stays happy! Bobby is beyond incredible; he genuinely cares about all the details. Bobby was always prompt at returning every call and email. We wanted an after party with smore's and craft beers - Bobby creatively found a classy and fun way to set this up. Working with Bobby this year is what would bring me back to La Valencia. He is gracious, responsible and your wedding will be of the utmost importance to him. \r\rI have planned many large scale events at high end hotels. This is the first time I have ever written a review - it is because of Bobby. Bobby is one-of-a-kind and he will make sure your event is magical. \r\r

But the ONE thing that made it PERFECT--Sales Manager Bobby Fader. \r\rHeâs creative and kind. He has a knack for handling people. He's funny, organized beyond belief, classy and charming. He instills a certain confidence in the day. Heâs a businessman. A good one. He handled our money as delicately as if it were your own. We trusted him, and were right in doing so. \r\rBobby Fader made our day a magical celebration where every detail was perfect. The timeline, the vendors, my vision, my Mom's vision. We had our wedding reception at the La Valencia Hotel in October and we could not have been more pleased with how it turned out! Bobby Fader, the sales and marketing manager, was an absolute delight to work with. We had several meetings with him throughout the year and he was always willing to make time for us. We also emailed countless times back and forth and he was always eager and prompt in returning our emails no matter how small the question. He is extremely polite and professional and we are so lucky to have had him assist us with everything. I donât think we could have done something like this without him!\rThe evening of our reception was absolutely perfect. The weather was magnificent. The view at the La Valencia Hotel overlooks the ocean. We had an outdoor setting with strung lights above. We had different catering stations with prime rib and a seafood bar that everyone could not get enough of! The food was outstanding.\tBobby had recommended some really excellent vendors for us and they all provided outstanding service. The catering staff at the La Valencia is some of the best we have ever encountered. They were all attentive, friendly and would rush to get anything we needed. All of our guests keep raving about how wonderful the staff and the setting were and it was a night everyone will truly remember!\rThe La Valencia Hotel is a unique spot in La Jolla and has the absolute perfect setting for a wedding/reception.\tThe hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are beautiful. Bobby Fader and the La Valencia Staff provided us with the reception of our dreams and we will be forever grateful!

I can't say enought wonderful things about this place. My contact throughout the planning process was Bobby Fader who was fabulous from start to finish. We had a destination wedding with about 100 guests travelling to La Jolla. The staff at La V was not only great for me but my guests were raving about how nice and attentive everyone was. From the valet, concierge, bellman, housekeeping, waitstaff ... the list goes on. Each person we encountered was helpful and had a smile on their face. The beauty of the hotel speaks for itself and the location was perfect. Close enough to San Deigo for those that wanted to check out more of the city but in the heart of La Jolla where guests could walk to shops and restaurants. The ceremony space is lovely but casual and was very intimate with all of our close friends and family sitting close to us. The reception was perfectly layed out so everyone could enjoy themselves. I rented the Garden Suite (room 606) to get ready with my bridesmaids. It's more expensive but they gave me a great deal and it's a huge room. It's conveniently located right outside the reception room and above the ceremony site so it's easy to move from one place to the other. I had 8 bridesmaids getting hair and makeup done there and we had more than enough space. The location also made it very easy for my coordinator to get things for me and put flowers and other items in the room while I was enjoying my wedding. I heard a few people asking if I was worried about noise from the pool since the ceremony site is just about it. Absolutely not. We had zero issues. You don't see many kids around and guests are very kind and respectful of your big day. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner in the Galeria room on Friday night. It kept it simple for my guests having it all in one building but was totally different from the reception so it didn't feel like the same celebration both nights. The only mistake I made was not having all of my guests book rooms early enough. It is a smaller hotel so make sure you tell your guests to book well in advance. They will work hard to accommodate you but do fill up. I look forward to celebrating our anniversaries at La Valencia for years to come. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place and would do everything all over again the exact same way.

I absolutely fell in love with this venue just from seeing photos online. In person, it was even more stunning, and the service matched the looks. Everyone was very accommodating and helpful, especially the on-site coordinator, Bobby Fader. We didn't have a wedding planner, but he stepped in and made sure everything was perfect for us. And lest I forget, the food was phenomenal. Completely worth every penny.

We just got married two weekends ago, and we couldn't be more happy with our venue. We got married in the garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Many of our guests commented on our beautiful our ceremony was. We live out of town and did much of the planning with Bobby Fader, the catering manager via email and phone conversations. He is so much more than a catering manager! Let me just say Bobby is my fairy godmother!!!!!!! He understood our budget, was never judgmental, always got back to us, and did his best to accommodate our wishes and address our concerns. He is the reason our rehearsal and ceremony ran so smoothly. He made sure our wishes were respected. He also came by to make sure everything was okay as I got ready in the beautiful garden suite in the morning. We are so happy with our decision to have our wedding here. We look forward to coming back to the hotel for our anniversaries! The hotel is just beautiful from the outside to the inside. The architecture sets a beautiful vintage feel to it along with the history of the hotel. Beautiful location, beautiful hotel, beautiful catering manager!

My wedding at La Valencia was beautiful and everything came together quite nicely. However, getting to that point was rather difficult. I had to work with several different people at the hotel during my year of planning and there was a lack of communication and consistency within that. If I did not have persistence and an outside planner, my wedding would not have come together quite as nicely. Be prepared to fight for things you want, despite being told you can do it initially (they'll say anything to get you to commit it seems and then try to put restrictions on you). All the frustration is worth it in the end for the amazing setting of the hotel, the quality food, and the view. But, expect to put in some work and keep ALL emails as proof of past conversations that you will have to refer back to.
