Unique Loft Venue with Chicago Skyline Views
Lacuna Events by LM is a one of a kind event venue located in Chicago. Established in 1897, this expansive 250,000 square-foot property was once the world’s largest macaroni factory. The space has since been expertly restored and offers couples an ideal location to celebrate their union in style. This five-story venue offers a range of options for your upcoming wedding celebrations. Lacuna’s spacious Skydeck, with sweeping views of the Chicago skyline, is a picturesque backdrop to exchange your “I Do’s” in the warmer months. The newly renovated Magik Street, located on the first floor, is the ideal space to gather for cocktails. The space includes a restaurant style show kitchen, custom bar and a landscaped deck with gas firepits. Indoors, Lacuna offers two separate events spaces perfect for any celebration. The first floor Reverie Gallery, featuring a salvaged shipping container bar, hand crafted cedar bench seating and abundant eclectic charm, can accommodate up to 350 for a seated reception. The fifth floor La Galleria offers private access to the SkyDeck and includes a custom bar area, dimmable bistro lighting and large picture windows with views of the Chicago skyline. All catering needs are handled by Lacuna’s in house caterer, LM Catering & Events. The team at LM will work with you to create a custom menu using fresh, seasonal ingredients while accommodating any dietary restrictions.

Lacuna Events by LM was our DREAM venue! The entire venue gave our day the exact feel we were looking for and wow-ed our guests in countless ways! The skydeck view was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. La Galleria fit our 280 person guest list comfortably and provided us with plenty of room to add decor to make it our own. Emily was phenomenal to work with- quick to respond and really went above and beyond for us the entire day. We are still getting compliments 4 months later! The food... omg the FOOD. Absolutely delicious. The tasting was very intimate and personalized. So many of our guests commented that the dinner was some of the best wedding food they have ever had. Would use the same venue all over again x100!

This venue was amazing. It's eclectic, fun, gorgeous, and unique. The ambiance set up each moment to be the most magical day. We had the pleasure of working with Laura and Emily they went above and beyond from start to finish they made us feel comfortable and guided us throughout the whole process, I was very impressed with the event staff the captain and servers were friendly and very efficient. The food was AMAZING, we received a lot of compliments on everything but especially about the food. We had our ceremony and reception at Lacuna in the Reverie room. from the photos on their rooftop with the most beautiful city skyline behind us and blue clear skies for a not so typical November day in Chicago to our Ceremony set with such a romantic vibe a room filled with love, onto the coolest cocktail hour which lead to the best night ever. Everyone worked seamlessly to make sure it was perfect. I'm beyond happy, and we are still dreaming about this magical day.

This venue was amazing! I live in Chicago but toured venues in the suburbs and this venue was better priced than most of the venues I saw in the suburbs. The staff here were absolutely amazing! I was told my my mother in-law that it was the nicest wedding she had ever been to in her life. Emily is an amazing catering manager and super helpful and sweet!I would 100% recommend this venue.

My wife and I's wedding reception was held at Lacuna in August 2023. Tania and the entire staff made our night so memorable and stress free. Everything was on point - from the food to decor to drinks and more. The compliments we received from our guests thereafter validated our choice to go with Lacuna even more. My husband and I are both thrilled that we chose Lacuna Lofts as the venue for the wedding. The People:Everyone we met from Lacuna was wonderful to work with. We primarily worked with Laura leading up to the wedding. She was incredibly helpful and very responsive to all of our questions (and we had a lot of questions). She has a great upbeat personality that made the little stressful moments throughout the process better. We also had a great experience with the staff during the wedding day. The security guard was very personable and responsive. The waitstaff and bartenders were quick and professional and excellent at cleaning up quickly when our some of our klutzier guests kept spilling their drinks. The Food:We were very impressed with the quality of our tasting. There was a good variety of options and everything tasted great. We received a number of compliments from our guests. The desserts were incredible and the family style sides were pretty popular. We also really liked the fact that Lacuna allows you to bring in your own alcohol from Binny’s and other suppliers, so we had more control over what wine and drink selection we could offer. The Venue:The venue is gorgeous. Our guests were blown away by the Chicago skyline for the ceremony. We were in the galleria for the reception and absolutely loved it. We fell in love with the artsy vibe and love that the venue has a good balance of unique visuals without being too overwhelming. Another huge selling point for us was the large dance floor. We had plenty of space for our 180 guests to dance all night long.

Lacuna Lofts is a truly beautiful space--stylish with amazing views, whether indoors or outdoors. It gives your guests a true sense of Chicago. We had our wedding late-September with the ceremony on the SkyDeck and our reception in La Galleria. La Galleria is a great space for a smaller, more intimate wedding. Tania was great to work with--responded quickly to all our questions and made great recommendations. Absolutely recommend.

Lacuna Lofts is unlike any wedding venue we have seen, and we are so glad that we were able to have our wedding there. The skydeck is our favorite part, with that insane view of the city. I was not prepared for that moment when I was walking down the aisle, with all of the people that I love staring back at me, and that beautiful skyline in the background. The inside is even more unique! We loved the artwork mixed in with the warehouse, and were able to get some great pictures beforehand with the bridal party inside the building. I have never seen any other space like this, and our guests absolutely loved the food quality and the service. It was an excellently executed party, with no line at the bar and constant attention from the staff. We couldn't have asked for a better night!

We had our wedding at Lacuna Lofts and the number of compliments was above what we imagined. Laura was our site coordinator, she was so helpful throughout the planning process. From the initial meeting, to food tasting, to setting up the rehearsal and day-of; any questions we had Laura was able quickly answer. Laura put us at ease and was great about letting us see the space again after we had booked and were still questioning if we made the right decision.Lacuna’s dinner options were amazing, we had a hard time narrowing down the meal choices! Ultimately we chose the pan seared chicken, braised beef short rib, and carrot quinoa cakes. All of the guests were very happy with the dinner, we even had guests saying this was the best wedding meal they’ve had! Lacuna works with Vanille for desserts, on the day of the wedding all of the sweets and cake were delicious, and displayed so beautifully! Lacuna allowed us to bring in our own alcohol through Binny’s, which was nice not to be limited to a drink package. Instead we were able to customize it to ours and our guests liking.Our ceremony was on the SkyDeck, followed by cocktail hour. We were so lucky to have beautiful weather, but Laura assured us if weather had been bad that they had a contingency plan. It was nice not having to worry about what to do if it rained. The reception was in the Reverie Gallery. The room itself is so beautiful and eclectic that we didn’t need to bring in much in regards to decorations. Simply beautiful. If you’re considering Lacuna Lofts, don’t pass up this beautiful location. You won’t regret it, I know we are still dreaming of our amazing day! Thank you to Laura and her team!

On top of the amazing rooftop with the Chicago skyline backdrop, the venue is just so unique and fun it was a no brainer to have our wedding there. The food was incredible and the option to byob was the cherry on top. We worked with Laura and she was just so amazing to work with, very communicative and quick to respond to emails. We felt comfortable every step of the way having her coordinate our wedding. Our wedding was hosted on the rooftop deck (with cocktail hour) and reception in the reverie gallery. If you ever dreamed of having a Chicago City wedding... Lacuna is hands down the perfect venue! On top of the amazing rooftop with the Chicago skyline backdrop, the venue is just so unique and fun it was a no brainer to have our wedding there. The food was incredible and the option to byob was the cherry on top. We worked with Laura and she was just so amazing to work with, very communicative and quick to respond to emails. We felt comfortable every step of the way having her coordinate our wedding. Our wedding was hosted on the rooftop deck (with cocktail hour) and reception in the reverie gallery. Where to begin!!! We had a more intimate ceremony off-site but held our wedding celebration at Lacuna Lofts on a gorgeous, summer day. This venue is simply STUNNING. Our guests are still raving about cocktail hour on the rooftop - can't top them skyline views! Our reception was in the Reverie Gallery - a magical space filled with TONS of personality, funky murals, art installments, you name it. And the food...divine! We're still dreaming of the apps, entrees, sweet treats and late-night snacks that blessed our taste buds that evening. Not to mention our tasting experience leading up was an absolute blast (all thanks to Tania...I'll get to her!) But what made our wedding EXTRA special was the staff at Lacuna. The set-up/clean-up crews, captains, servers, and bartenders (along with the rest of our vendors) worked so hard to ensure the evening ran smoothly AND our guests had fun. Some guests are still talking up one of the bartenders at the main bar in Reverie - wish I had his name! He was absolutely FAB! We are still blown away by the staff at Lacuna - they deserve all the accolades. Our venue coordinator, Tania, was BEYOND incredible. I'm sad I only have 3500 characters for this review because I could honestly write a novel about how much I love and adore her. Tania helped us every step of the way leading up to our big day (in more ways than one!) She was so quick to answer our 5,000+ questions, calm our nerves, and respond to my middle-of-the-night emails (whoopsie). She made our wedding planning experience seamless, memorable and FUN! Not sure where we'd be without her expertise and guidance. Just seeing her face and hearing her voice day-of put me at ease! We'd recommend Lacuna to anyone and everyone. A+ venue, A+ staff, A+ experience!!! We will truly cherish this day/venue forever.

We had our wedding in late July on the Skydeck and in the smaller event space, La Galleria. We could not have been happier with how everything went, the space and the team involved helped make it a fantastic day. The space was truly magical and the views of the city could not be beat. Because it's such a great looking space, and Lacuna provides great tables and linens, we didn't need to do too much in terms of decor, which saved us a lot of costs and headache. Our venue contact, Emily B, was also incredible. She had a tough challenge of filling in for someone who left part-way through our planning, but she didn't miss a beat, and we felt like everything went smoothly. She was super responsive and knowledgeable to all of our individual requests and asks, and incredibly personable to boot!Our guests enjoyed being there, and we got tons of rave reviews about all the food. We highly recommend this space!

They got us in to see the space right away. If you are looking for a gorgeous rooftop and view of the skyline, this is your place! Our wedding reception was held in la Galleria and ceremony and cocktail hour on the skydeck which had amazing views of the skyline for all our guests to enjoy and take photos of. Laura Thomas was our event manager and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. She made everything run seamlessly and put all my worries at ease. She was great to communicate with and responded to emails very quickly. She also communicated with our other vendors and our day ran without a hitch! Our wedding reception was held in la Galleria and ceremony and cocktail hour on the skydeck which had amazing views of the skyline for all our guests to enjoy and take photos of. Laura Thomas was our event manager and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. She made everything run seamlessly and put all my worries at ease. She was great to communicate with and responded to emails very quickly. She also communicated with our other vendors and our day ran without a hitch! The physical space is warm and inviting. We had an all-vegetarian wedding and the food was delicious, especially the butternut squash soup! We worked with Macrina throughout the planning process, and she was very friendly, helpful, and professional. We highly recommend their rooftop for ceremony and cocktail hour, the view is phenomenal and the perfect backdrop for pictures. Updated review: we were contacted by LM regarding our difficulties with communicating with the coordinator and our cake and they have more than made up for the trouble and offered an explanation. The venue, catering, catering staff, and initial coordinator were fantastic. Literally every member of the serving and bartending team killed it! Unfortunately, we had issues with the coordinator that had been assigned to us in 2020 after the previous coordinator moved on. When we signed our contract in 2019, ample parking was included. During a final visit we planned 4 months before our (November 2021) wedding, we were shocked to find that the lot was now pay only and required an app to get in. We were not told by our coordinator and due to the lack of notice, we were unable to include information with our invitations to our 200+ guests. When we asked about it, we were told that we would get 15 complimentary spots for our vendors. During that same final meeting, we were asked by our coordinator what should be done with our (small) cutting cake. I specifically asked that the cake be packed up and given to us when we went to pick up our decorations after. When I went to get everything, the cake was not there and the employee was very unhelpful and even tried to give me other people's things. I emailed the coordinator about the cake and she never responded, despite us having an ongoing conversation at the time. Beyond these communication issues, it was a wonderful day and the venue was beautiful and the food was delicious.

Even with the pandemic and all the changes we had to make along the way to host a smaller event, Lacuna and Mary were right there working with us so fantastically each step of the way. Mary really did think of everything, often checked in with us, and helped to create a truly magical event for us and our guests. I really can't speak highly enough about Lacuna Events by LM. We chose Lacuna for so many reasons - location, BYOB, numerous spaces, pricing, creative ambience and so many amazing menu options. With Covid throwing a wrench in our plans, naturally, we were worried about how the venue would respond. Veronica was so helpful, flexible, empathetic and compassionate throughout the process. We were already so very excited to have our celebration at Lacuna but the team's desire to be understanding and accommodating has made us even more pleased with our choice. I really can't speak highly enough about Lacuna Events by LM. We chose Lacuna for so many reasons - location, BYOB, numerous spaces, pricing, creative ambience and so many amazing menu options. With Covid throwing a wrench in our plans, naturally, we were worried about how the venue would respond. Veronica was so helpful, flexible, empathetic and compassionate throughout the process. We were already so very excited to have our celebration at Lacuna but the team's desire to be understanding and accommodating has made us even more pleased with our choice. Yesterday was our tasting and everything was amazing. Couldn't be happier.

She has always been very quick to respond to our questions, and she was extremely flexible in allowing us to view the space a couple times prior to making the final decision to book! While we unfortunately had to postpone our wedding to next year due to COVID-19, Veronica made the process extremely easy & seamless. We are grateful to be working with a venue that understands the difficult decisions couples are having to make during this time, and for not causing additional stress in making the decision to shift dates. We have had a great experience working with Lacuna Lofts & LM Catering so far, and we cannot wait to celebrate with our friends and family at Lacuna next year!

Lacuna Lofts and LM Catering are simply the best! Their skyline views on the rooftop are amazing and the best in the city. The venue itself is beautiful and has such a fun vibe to it. It was our top venue choice from looking online and seeing it in person did not disappoint; it sealed the deal. We had our tasting with LM Catering and every single bite was delicious-it was so hard to choose our menu but at least we knew we couldn’t choose wrong because everything was so good! Both my parents and my fiancé’s parents still talk about the food. We have to postpone our wedding from this year until next summer due to COVID-19 but Lacuna and LM events made it so easy. They were in communication the whole time with us and extremely supportive of whatever decision we wanted to make. They have been above accommodating with our postponement and I cannot express how grateful we are for how smooth of a transition they have made this for us. We are so relieved to be working with such a great company after hearing of difficulties with friends and their venues/vendors who have also had to postpone. We have the highest recommendation for Lacuna and LM events and special shoutout to Veronica who has been so amazing! We cannot wait to host our friends and family at Lacuna in 2021 and have no doubts they will make it the best day ever! If you’re even considering Lacuna as an option, we say do it and you won’t regret it!

My fiancé and I were looking for a loft space in Chicago that had the same grit and history as the city AND had an outdoor space. When we toured it, it was clear that Lacuna Lofts was the right wedding venue for us. The rooftop is absolutely stunning and the Reverie gallery has lots of quirk and charm (from neon lights to giant rhino sculptures, an arch made of upcycled picture frames, and a bar made out of an old shipping containers.) The process to book was very smooth and they were very helpful in answering all of our questions. Unfortunately, our wedding has been affected by Covid-19, but Lacuna has been incredibly supportive and worked with us to find the perfect postponement date in 2021 without charging any fees (heard some horror stories about other venues being incredibly difficult for couples to work with during this time.) Our experience with Lacuna has been great so far and reaffirms that we made the right choice on venue for our wedding celebration.

We were planning our wedding from the east coast, and Mary made it so easy to plan a “destination” wedding. She clearly presented us with our options, and she was flexible with our specific requests. I didn’t hire a wedding planner because Mary was basically that for us included with our wedding package! She communicated with all our vendors, kept me up-to-date on things that I needed to turn in to Lacuna, and also helped us save money by explaining the different options that could have added up without us noticing (she also picked up our wedding unexpectedly because one of her colleagues left the company—you would have never known!). Lacuna & LM catering are top-tier professionals. It was so easy for us to let them take the reigns and deliver 5-star service. Our wedding guests are still RAVING about the atmosphere, ambience, food, and service! My husband and I were floored when we walked into our cocktail hour and reception space. They presented our wishes absolutely perfectly. If you want a wedding that is fun and easy to plan, with five-star food, service, and unique atmosphere, hands down go with Lacuna Loft & LM catering!

Lacuna really is that with a twist. There's cool artwork all around the building that really separates itself from all the other industrial venues. Gabi was extremely responsive and she put up with my indecisiveness like a champ. She had great ideas to offer and was so easy to work with. Our friends and family loved the venue- we received so many compliments (from people of all ages) about the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the staff. The staff at Lacuna are AMAZING! Once we were married and had a few moments alone, all of the appetizers were set up in a room for my husband and me. It is the perfect venue no matter how many guests you have.

However, the best part about this venue is the staff. Mary was our wedding coordinator and did an absolutely amazing job. We started our ceremony on the roof but had to stop halfway through due to a rainstorm (!), and Mary and her staff helped to quickly flip a space to accommodate all our guests for a \"cocktail hour standing room only\" finish to our ceremony! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful wedding.

Our daughter had her wedding on 10/5/19 at Lacuna and we were very pleased with the venue and staff! Mary was the coordinator and she earned our respect that day. The wedding ceremony was supposed to be on the rooftop. We started there and then heavy rains forced the ceremony to be paused and the wedding party and guests ran for cover! Mary and her staff quickly modified an area inside where the wedding ceremony could be completed.The venue is unique and beautiful and speaks for itself. The food was excellent. But what tied it together was Mary and her staff and their attention to detail.Thanks for a job well done!

My daughter had her wedding reception at Lacuna Lofts which is a unique non-traditional venue that has the flexibility to have a rooftop ceremony outside with the Chicago Skyline on the horizon. On a beautiful day, it is hard to imagine a more scenic view for a marriage ceremony. This is somewhat the antithesis of a hotel or venue made for wedding reception specifically but, when decorated and with lights and flowers, made for a picture perfect beautiful reception. There is ample free parking on site. What made the reception all the more special was the event and catering company that is associated with Lacuna Lofts. Veronica Navarro and her team at LM catering aided us with all types of suggestions for the entire event such as lighting companies, wedding planners, beverage caterers, and all the various vendors one needs to put on such an event. In many cases, we took Veronica's suggestions and each vendor was as professional as the next and we couldn't have been more pleased with the various vendors we used. The Venue, when completed and set up in full for the reception, looked marvelous and unique. The food Veronica's team prepared was spectacular and certainly not the standard whole boneless chicken breast you often have at weddings and I would say it was on the gourmet side but you get what you pay for. Universally, we heard remarks of how good the food was. Veronica, at LM catering is extremely professional and was wonderful to work with. We had several unusual, out of the norm requests, and she was not only able but very much accommodating in our requests. The entire event went off without any bumps in the road at all and we heard tons of compliments about the food, venue, staff and vendors and my now married daughter, wife and I could not have been any more pleased to have selected this venue and to have had the pleasure to have worked someone as professional as Veronica.

Veronica Navarro and her team at LM catering aided us with all types of suggestions for the entire event such as lighting companies, wedding planners, beverage caterers, and all the various vendors one needs to put on such an event. In many cases, we took Veronica's suggestions and each vendor was as professional as the next and we couldn't have been more pleased with the various vendors we used. The Venue, when completed and set up in full for the reception, looked marvelous and unique. The food Veronica's team prepared was spectacular and certainly not the standard whole boneless chicken breast you often have at weddings and I would say it was on the gourmet side but you get what you pay for. Universally, we heard remarks of how good the food was. Veronica, at LM catering is extremely professional and was wonderful to work with. We had several unusual, out of the norm requests, and she was not only able but very much accommodating in our requests. The entire event went off without any bumps in the road at all and we heard tons of compliments about the food, venue, staff and vendors and my now married daughter, wife and I could not have been any more pleased to have selected this venue and to have had the pleasure to have worked someone as professional as Veronica.

The venue itself is awesome–the views of the Chicago skyline from the rooftop deck are unbeatable, and the gallery space is artsy, eclectic, and very fun. When our daughter was looking for venues for her recent wedding, she immediately fell in love with Lacuna Lofts. Not only is the building beautiful with an interesting history, an over 100 year old Macaroni Factory, but she fell in love with the skydeck and had to have a summer wedding. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate on the big day, but Georgie and the staff were so calm, reassuring us that our back up plan of having the ceremony and reception inside would be just as memorable. The rain ended and our guests were able to take in the breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline after dinner. All of our guests commented on how wonderful the wedding was, and the food was the best they’ve had at a wedding, and the vegetarian choice was unlike others they’ve had before. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding in and interested venue, other than the typical country club or ballroom, that are readily available. Thanks again to Georgie and her staff for making this day one that we will never forget!

I cannot recommend Lacuna Events more! Like the other reviews, we are still getting compliments on the venue a month later! I could go on and on but here are some highlights:- Lorraine and the team at Lacuna were amazing to work with! When we told our other vendors (florist, DJ, lighting, etc) that we were hosting at Lacuna they were so excited because the space is so fun and the team at Lacuna are pros. We didn't have a single issue and they go above and beyond.- Guests loved walking around and seeing the art and sculptures. They said it was so unique and felt like a big party and celebration, not a stuffy reception. It was a FUN place to be that night!!- Guests also RAVED about the food and service at Lacuna- Great for kids! We had 5 young nieces and nephews who Lacuna accommodated. There are also little lounging areas that they were able to run around in without the worry of breaking things or being a distraction, etc.- Location was perfect - easy for guests to get on and off the highway. Also free parking lot for guests.I'm obsessed with Lacuna and want to relive that night there again!!!

We got married in September of 2018 and are still getting compliments on how awesome everything was. The food was fantastic and the views were unbeatable. it was a little windy on the roof during our ceremony (what can you expect getting married on a roof in Chicago), but luckily or DJ had the right equipment so everyone heard us fine. The food was delicious and the reception space in the reverie gallery was exactly what we wanted. If you're looking for a big venue without that banquet hall feel, those is definitely the way to go. Also the fact that it was BYOB and we were able to bring beer from my brother's brewery in OKC was a HUGE plus for us. I highly recommend the venue.To keep this an honest review and give you the whole picture, some stuff we weren't thrilled about: The bistro lighting is a MUST because the florescent lights kill the vibe you get from the space, I just wish they weren't such an expensive add on. The fact that they claim the cost is to put them up and take them down, but they were hung every time I saw the place makes me wonder. Also, why Lacuna doesn't just buy some strings of lights and leave them up for everyone is beyond me. The day-of organization of the event and direction for our guests was a bit lacking. I was running around before the ceremony and found a group of our guests sitting at the end of a hallway because there were no signs telling them where to go. The sign that was there required them to exit the elevator and do a u-turn to see it. Like I said, a few minor things, but overall a good experience and would recommend it.

Our daughter got married at Lacuna in August of 2018. Everything was beautiful for their rooftop ceremony and cocktail hour followed by the reception at the Reverie Gallery. Such an amazing city view on the rooftop which made for amazing pictures. Our daughter was looking for a non-traditional venue that did not have a \"banquet feel\". Lacuna did not disappoint. One of the great perks is that we felt we did not have to overly decorate- the rooftop is breathtaking as is, and the gallery has a great urban feel with the exposed brick, hardwood floors and artwork. The food was delicious! There were so many amazing options it was hard to choose at the tasting. It was definitely not your standard gravy smothered chicken and twice baked potatoes type of wedding meal. I highly recommend Mary. She was phenomenal from the very beginning stages of planning to the day of the wedding. She was always in constant communication with us along with the vendors which was so great. She is professional and friendly and helped us with all the little details. It was somewhat hot on the day of the wedding, and my older parents had to leave the rooftop during cocktail hour and go into the air conditioning. Mary made sure cocktails and an assortment of appetizers were sent down to them and she checked in on them a few times. Definitely above and beyond. We had an amazing experience at Lacuna and are so happy with how everything turned out. We still have family and friends that tell us how my daughters wedding was one the best they have gone to- the venue and food are unforgettable! Thank you Mary and Lacuna!

We toured lots of Chicago venues and Lacuna was by far our favorite! The location is so incredibly unique with all of the artwork and the STUNNING view of the skyline from the rooftop. Our guests were floored at how beautiful it was! What we also loved was that the venues we rented (rooftop for ceremony/cocktail hour, Blank Canvas for reception) were gorgeous as-is. We felt that decor was just an icing on the cake. Not much to add in order to make it gorgeous. Working with Lacuna (shout out to Mary -- the best coordinator ever) was also a dream. We toured lots of Chicago venues and Lacuna was by far our favorite! The location is so incredibly unique with all of the artwork and the STUNNING view of the skyline from the rooftop. Our guests were floored at how beautiful it was! What we also loved was that the venues we rented (rooftop for ceremony/cocktail hour, Blank Canvas for reception) were gorgeous as-is. We felt that decor was just an icing on the cake. Not much to add in order to make it gorgeous. Working with Lacuna (shout out to Mary -- the best coordinator ever) was also a dream. Mary was extremely responsive, organized, kind, and accommodating to our every question and suggestion. The food from LM was incredible (best wedding food I've ever had) as well. I'm so thankful that I can say our wedding day was perfect, and the staff at Lacuna has so much to do with that! We cannot rave enough about our experience with them!

The view of the City Skyline was amazing! We held our ceremony on the rooftop and spent a total of 2 hours at the venue. We hosted cocktail hour and were able to bring in our our liquor (via Binnys). We had to use the venues catering company to serve the liquor but the entire process was very simple. Gabi was a pleasure to work with and was always available via email/phone. We left a few items behind but they held everything for us to pick up at a later time. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth every penny! Thank you Lacuna for the beautiful back drop :)

Lacuna is an old warehouse turned artist loft that is actually affordable, and a hidden gem in the city. We were first assigned to Mary as our coordinator, but that did not work out due to discrepancies in communication. However, we were quickly reassigned to Lorraine and she took everything in stride in picking up right where we left off. Lorraine answered all of our questions efficiently, and helped us out with anything we needed. I consider myself to be a very organized person and a great planner, but even certain things slipped through the cracks and Lorraine was on point in reminding me of certain things when needed. Lorraine was phenomenal to work with, and she is so sweet! As far as catering goes, the food was absolutely phenomenal. Our guests still compliment us on the dinner, desserts, and the overall beauty of the venue. I would highly recommend working with Lacuna for your next event!

From the get-go, Lacuna was incredible. Lorraine was so transparent and replied to us almost immediately with every question or concern we had. The Reverie Gallery was absolutely stunning on our wedding night. You really dont need to worry about centerpieces or decorations because the room is so cool and unique that your guests wont notice anything else. Lacuna is BYOB which was HUGE for us (another venue we toured had a $10,000 bar minimum!). We were able to spend about $4k on alcohol from Binnys, who was able to buy back the alcohol we didnt use! The food was to die for. All our guests raved about how it was the best food, not just wedding food, theyve ever had. We were able to add personal touches to the reception like signature cocktails, donut wall, etc. And dont forget the rooftop cocktail hour with an amazing view of the city! Lacuna and Lorraine made our wedding unforgettable for all. I would not recommend anywhere else!

Mary answered all of our questions along the way and her relaxed and kind demeanor made the planning fun and enjoyable. We truly felt that she was our partner in planning, as we worked together to coordinate the wedding of our dreams. A huge perk was that they also have their own caterer, LM Catering & Events, so we didn’t have to worry about coordinating our own food, tables/chairs, linens, etc. The food provided by LM Catering was amazing, along with the table settings, dessert stands, and beautiful details they provided. On our actual wedding day, we were blown away with how smoothly EVERYTHING went! We had to make some last-minute changes due to the weather, but it was carried out without a hitch. We had our ceremony in the blank canvas gallery, cocktail hour on the rooftop deck, and reception in the reverie gallery. Each and every space was beyond gorgeous. We got compliments all night long from our guests with how awesome the venue was, and they continue to talk about it even after the wedding. Everything about Lacuna is so unique and our guests were raving about every detail! We worked with the beyond brilliant Mary Kehoe. She was amazing! She truly cared about our event and was on top of every detail and extremely responsive! She is a love of a person and so so wonderful to work with!They allowed us to do our rehearsal the Friday before and drop off our items to be stored in the office which was very convenient. They also let us store it there after the wedding and pick it up this week which helped a ton. Mary even called our liquor supplier and took care of pick up!Our big day was perfect! The service was outstanding as well! We had one server just for myself and the groom which was amazing. We never had to ask for anything, it was just always there! The food was also superb! Our guests wouldn't stop talking about it and said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding! If you're looking for a truly unique and spectacular venue with amazing staff, stop your search now! Lorraine was our event coordinator and she went above and beyond to make sure that all of our needs were met, and our big day would be perfect. She is professional, responsive, detailed, very kind, and overall an amazing person to work with. Lorraine understood our vision for the wedding and made it happen! Thank you so much, Lorraine! Lacuna works exclusively with LM Catering so they took care of all the food, which was FANTASTIC! We had 3 passed apps, 2 stations, and a sweets table. Our guests loved the food, even weeks later we were still receiving compliments on how tasty it was, and that it was some of the best wedding food they have ever had! I was worried that I wasn't going to be hungry, and you always hear that newlyweds don't eat at their own wedding, but believe me, we DEFINITELY ate, and boy was it delicious! Lacuna was a perfect fit for us. The venue has a great industrial, urban, cool, off-beat vibe, and the art in there is incredible, which added to the overall experience for our guests and a great setting for our wedding photos. The venue gave everyone an opportunity to check out local Chicago art at it's best. Everyone complimented us on our venue choice, and how much fun the wedding was! Our wedding was a dream come true! Day of, Mary was attentive, always checking in on my parents, and myself to make sure we had drinks/food/everything we needed. The rest of the staff was amazing as well!The venue is Stunning. We got married on the rooftop deck and it frankly is one of the best skyline views I've seen. We had our cocktails and reception in the blank canvas, which was the perfect size (130 guests) and vibe we were going for. All of our guests raved about the food (Exclusive catering with LM), the desserts, and the venue in general.Lacuna is a funky place and not a \"traditional\" wedding venue but it is so cool and so Chicago. If you're looking for something non-traditional and like the loft/warehouse/artsy vibe definitely go with Lacuna Lofts!

We mainly worked with Mary while planning the wedding but she ended up having a family emergency and Gabi took over. Gabi did a great job and set up the the venue exactly how I wanted it and everything was perfect. Some things we loved: we got to bring in our own alcohol and a late night snack, free venue parking for our guests, cocktail hour on the rooftop, my husband made our head table and they let us bring it in and stored it for our while we were on our honeymoon ! I would definitely recommend Lacuna to other couples!

It has been 2 weeks and our guests cannot stop talking about how amazing Lacuna was. It is wildly different than traditional wedding venues in the best possible way. The industrial macaroni factory turned artist loft is like nothing you've ever seen. The ever-changing walls are a canvas to numerous artists - every time we toured, there was something new about the place. It's amazing. (Let me get back on track...)Lacuna as a wedding venue.Our ceremony was on the rooftop with the city as a backdrop. Guests enjoyed taking beautiful skyline pictures. The bar on the roof is awesome. It's usually a little windy up there, but on August 18 the sun was shining and the wind disappeared!!! It was perfect. Our reception area was on the first floor due to our party of 260. The room is a romantic, cafe light lit, eclectic art warehouse. We transformed it with hundreds of candles and greenery and it was gorgeous. The food tasting was the hardest part because everything was soooo tasty. We ended up with the flank steak and crusted salmon options. I want to go back and eat that salmon/asparagus every single weekend - it was perfectly cooked and even my husband (who hates fish) ate and loved it! Closing time wasn't a problem like it is at most weddings. We were able to party until 1am! Most places kick you out at midnight so my guests enjoyed the extra dancing. Greek town has hotels to offer and is only 8 minutes down Halsted.No wedding planner? No problem. Lorraine at Lacuna is an angel who has fallen right out of heaven to make all of your worries disappear. She is an advocate for the bride and groom and makes sure things go as planned. I'm not kidding when I say that I probably emailed her 50 times in the last year (from inquiry at the beginning of the process to the end). She responds quickly and pretends like nothing is ever a problem - she finds an answer for everything <3All in all our wedding went off without a hitch (aside from us being hitched ... and one of our groomsmen being a little tipsy at the ceremony...)I would choose Lacuna 100 times.

The room is a romantic, cafe light lit, eclectic art warehouse. We transformed it with hundreds of candles and greenery and it was gorgeous. The food tasting was the hardest part because everything was soooo tasty. We ended up with the flank steak and crusted salmon options. I want to go back and eat that salmon/asparagus every single weekend - it was perfectly cooked and even my husband (who hates fish) ate and loved it! Closing time wasn't a problem like it is at most weddings. We were able to party until 1am! Most places kick you out at midnight so my guests enjoyed the extra dancing. Greek town has hotels to offer and is only 8 minutes down Halsted.No wedding planner? No problem. Lorraine at Lacuna is an angel who has fallen right out of heaven to make all of your worries disappear. She is an advocate for the bride and groom and makes sure things go as planned. I'm not kidding when I say that I probably emailed her 50 times in the last year (from inquiry at the beginning of the process to the end). She responds quickly and pretends like nothing is ever a problem - she finds an answer for everything <3All in all our wedding went off without a hitch (aside from us being hitched ... and one of our groomsmen being a little tipsy at the ceremony...)I would choose Lacuna 100 times.

We had our wedding on the roof and reception in the blank canvas room at Lacuna in August 2017. They were so incredibly accommodating and easy to work with, we can’t recommend them enough. First, the people are amazing. You rely on your venue and caterer to do a lot, our contact Lorraine, was absolutely amazing. She answered every crazy question and accommodated all of our crazy requests and countless emails. We planned our wedding from halfway across the country with a pretty inflexible schedule and they always found time to meet with us whenever we were in town (including doing our tasting 2 days before Christmas when it was the only day we were free!) I really can’t say enough about how great all of LM, but Lorraine especially, was to work with. Wedding planning can be stressful so it’s nice to have a vendor you know you can rely on and who you look forward to seeing.Second, the food from LM was great. We were worried about what we were going to get (and how much we were going to pay!) given that you’re locked into using LM when you book at Lacuna. Everything was within budget, beautiful, and delicious! We had some guests with dietary restrictions and they handled it without any problems. Their bartenders were excellent (we did the BYO option) and the plates and linens they provided were beautiful and unique. Also, they never try to upsell you, though there are always fancier options if you want it. We were nervous about hidden costs, but LM never said no to any of our requests and almost everything we asked for was included free of charge (champagne flutes were the only extra we had to pay for). We get the sense that this sort of service is pretty rare in the wedding industry. Third, the space is just amazing. We wanted a venue with a lot of character so that we wouldn’t have to do a ton of decorating. I couldn’t get over how beautiful everything was on the day of our wedding. We paid extra for the roof to hold our ceremony and cocktail hour. It was just so incredibly beautiful. Our reception down in the blank canvas room was also really nice. Our reception space was our only hiccup over the 12 months of wedding planning. You should know that LM runs events at Lacuna but does not own or manage the space. The building managers decided to move the blank canvas room from the second to the third floor, changing the location of our reception. While it was a bit stressful at the time (this happened 4 months before our wedding), LM and Lorraine handled it professionally and courteously (especially since it wasn't even their fault), and we never gave it a second thought once we saw the new space. In an upside to the room change, the new room had permanently installed café lights strung up that provided the perfect amount of light (we also had candles) and everything was beautiful (I’ll try to post some pictures). It all worked out great and this shouldn’t deter you from Lacuna in the slightest, but we felt like it was important to mention that the space is awesome but also always changing.Overall, we can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a beautiful, unique space, and LM (especially Lorraine!) is a dream to work with who feel personally invested in your day and feel like friends at your wedding. Go for it!

Lacuna was an incredible place to get married. We picked them for their unique space, but are so happy for everything else they offered. The food was incredible, service top notch, and BYOB was such a wonderful addition. Not to mention people are still commenting on how fun the space itself was. My husband and I celebrated our wedding at Lacuna (Reverie Gallery) in March. I have a unique perspective because I work for LM Catering, who manages events at Lacuna. We didn’t hesitate when selecting Lacuna because I was already familiar with the space and we LOVED the venue. It’s so unique and had everything we could ask for - big & open loft style, interesting features (artwork, signs, lights, etc) and free parking. We were able to do some family photos onsite prior to the ceremony and there are endless possibilities for photo ops in the building. I wish we would’ve had time to explore more options! I already knew I was in good hands with the catering managers - Gabi, Lorraine and Mary. I had no idea how much I would need to lean on them for support, advice and direction now that I was on the other side of the planning process. They helped guide me every step of the way in regards to timing, table arrangements and menu selections. Mary and Lorraine (a bonus!) ended up being on site that day and were incredibly helpful, calm, organized, and supportive. The only major hiccup was that the transportation we had arranged for my husband's grandma arrived 30 min late and right at the time our ceremony was due to begin. Ricardo, one of our incredible event captains, went outside in the rain and assisted with getting her out of the car safely and inside. Mary/Lorraine had to coordinate the delay with the musicians, catering team, and my wedding party. This incident delayed everything else for the evening but they handled the situation with ease and expertise. They helped me step back and actually enjoy my wedding instead of worrying about the timeline. Obviously I am bias, but the food was AMAZING. I still have guests telling me that it was the best wedding food they have ever had, complimenting everything from presentation to flavor. Guests were so happy and impressed with the food and service. The LM team went out of their way to ensure that everyone had a perfect evening and we are beyond grateful!

Since we lived in the west loop we wanted a Chicago wedding. A loft setting for our reception and a rooftop ceremony... Lacuna was the perfect venue. The blank canvas gallery ended up being a great option for our 102 guests. The rooftop is spectacular with unobstructed views of our beautiful skyline. Our pictures turned out amazing! We had the most perfect day and we credit Gabi D for that! She was really helpful and easy going throughout the whole process. Gabi was always available and quick to respond. She was there to help me get ready to walk down the aisle! Whatever you wanted she could do it! Also the food was fantastic! We even got to meet the French chef at our tasting. All of the staff were awesome and took care of us. We had zero complaints about anything. In all lacuna was wonderful and we really had the best wedding ever according to our guests!

It was overwhelming to think about finding a venue in Chicago for a summer wedding with countless options to choose from. My husband and I narrowed it down by agreeing that we wanted to try and find a location other than a hotel and also offered an outdoor space. We did a lot of scouting out options online and then set up appointments to tour some of our top choices. After our initial visits, we felt we should keep looking and luckily stumbled upon Lacuna Artist Lofts. We set up an appointment to meet with Mary and take a tour of the venue. From the minute we arrived we knew we had to have our wedding here. It was everything we wanted, unique, interesting, different, romantic while industrial at the same time, had an outdoor space with a stunning skyline view of Chicago, and was filled with interesting artwork throughout the space. We could not be more thrilled with our experience at Lacuna Artist Lofts and working with Mary Kehoe throughout the process. She was so kind and easy to work with, answering my numerous questions whenever I had them. Planning our wedding day and working with Lacuna was a breeze. We decided we wanted to do a family style dinner to keep the evening with our guests a little more informal and interactive at the table. Their menu options are plentiful so we had a really difficult time narrowing it down to our tasting choices. Even then, everything we tasted was so incredibly delicious we had a difficult time finalizing our selections. Once we did, we were pleased with our menu and our guests complimented the meal quite a bit. And the desserts! OH the desserts!!!As the wedding got closer Mary and I were in more frequent contact about the big day. She was always responsive, sometimes answering my emails in the wee hours of the morning! During our final walk through, she helped my husband and I visualize the set up for our wedding day from the ceremony to the reception. We are so appreciative of the time Mary spent with us to help make sure we had what we wanted. She was a pleasure to work with and has a kind and positive attitude while maintaining professionalism; it felt much like working with a friend. Fast forward to our wedding day and we could not have been happier. The venue with the gorgeous skyline view for our ceremony set the tone for the entire evening. It's breathtaking, and our guests loved taking pictures on the rooftop during cocktail hour after the ceremony had ended. When we moved into the reception and sat for dinner, everyone was so pleased. The staff at Lacuna is top notch. They were all so kind and attentive to us and our guests. The service was five stars. Mary was present throughout the evening checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly and ensuring that we had no additional needs. My husband and I did not have a wedding planner so when the big day came, being able to simply enjoy it without having to worry that all the details would be executed as we had hoped put us at ease. All of our family and friends continue to talk about how lovely the day was and how awesome this venue is. It was perfect and we both cannot rave enough about our wedding day at Lacuna.

We had our fall 2016 wedding here, ceremony on the rooftop and reception in the Reverie Gallery. This venue is outstanding for it's views and creative photo opportunities. We were incredibly over joyed with the way our wedding turned out and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Chicago. The pricing for the room rental was very reasonable compared to other venues in Chicago which often have a very high minimum. The price per head cost was very flexible with options for plated, buffet, family style and even BYOB. That being said, the food was spectacular. We experienced a tasting at Troquet restaurant, and everything was so delicious that it was hard to make a choice! Our guests still rave about the steak and chicken. The catering staff was excellent and very attentive. Everything turned out perfect on the day of our wedding. Leading up to our wedding there were some issues. Since this is an artist loft, they are constantly making changes to the building. This of course is out of the control of the events staff since they just rent from the building. Every time we came to the venue to meet with our coordinator, something would be different. Sometimes this would work out in our favor, like newly remodeled bathrooms. Other times not so much. Originally we rented \"The Blank Canvas Gallery\" a beautiful space with exposed brick and wood beams. A few months before our wedding we get a call that the owner of the building commissioned an art piece to be painted in the Blank Canvas Gallery... a large green and purple raccoon. We were extremely upset by this, but the LM Staff worked with us to make it right and we were able to move our reception to the Reverie Gallery. If you rent this space, just be prepared that the building might make changes.

Lacuna is one of the COOLEST venues in the city of Chicago. My guests would not stop talking about how amazing were both the rooftop, which has one of the most beautiful views of the city, and the Reverie gallery, which is the funky, unique, and warm room for our reception. I will say that the responsiveness was slow at the beginning, where I had a difficult time getting answers to my questions. But once I was set up with Nicole, the co-owner of Lacuna Events, everything was smooth and she was very helpful. Communication was back on track and she was relatively quick to respond to my needs. The building as a whole is a bit confusing and under construction, so the elevators almost didn't work and it was definitely rough around the edges. However the rough edges added charm and a \"cool\" factor that something all buttoned-up would not offer. Honestly, I would not change my choice for the world. Lacuna was the perfect venue for a wedding, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who wants a wedding that all your guests will talk about for years to come!

As soon as we saw Lacuna we knew this was exactly where we wanted to get married! Its so different and fun that it really helps set a happy tone for a wedding. Plus with all the art and cool structural built ins decorating the reception area was far less stressful. Plus the city views from the rooftop are perfect if you can take advantage of them! As long as you are willing to bring in all your own stuff and vendors this place is definitely worth it! They have plenty of people on site that are willing to help you plan the set up and decor, and they were always nice enough to alert us of any knew art that went up and give us the option to use it or have it taken away. As soon as we saw Lacuna we knew this was exactly where we wanted to get married! Its so different and fun that it really helps set a happy tone for a wedding. Plus with all the art and cool structural built ins decorating the reception area was far less stressful. Plus the city views from the rooftop are perfect if you can take advantage of them! As long as you are willing to bring in all your own stuff and vendors this place is definitely worth it! They have plenty of people on site that are willing to help you plan the set up and decor, and they were always nice enough to alert us of any knew art that went up and give us the option to use it or have it taken away. With all the new additions being made to the venue I am sure it is only going to get better!

My wife and I had our wedding at Lacuna Artist Loft and it was a great experience. Not only was it an incredible space for our wedding, but Natalie and Julia were awesome in making sure we had everything for the wedding. From the set up to using the building for pictures. They were so helpful and it made the day a very special day.
