Lake Elsie Wedding Barn is a historic and picturesque wedding barn venue located just 50 minutes south of Fargo, ND and 10 minutes from Dakota Magic Casino. Lake Elsie Wedding Barn features a newly renovated historic barn with a traditional cathedral ceiling hayloft and a fully restored lower level, on 5 private acres of wedding splendor. Lake Elsie Wedding Barn offers the perfect mixture of beautiful landscapes, timeless elegance, and a deep sense of history in a private, lake setting for the enjoyment of your guests. Marshall and Sandy and their dedicated wedding team is sure to make your destination wedding weekend a memorable one. Your wedding weekend includes Friday rehearsal, Saturday ceremony, reception, and dance and Sunday gift opening. Our adjacent Bed and Breakfast; Lady on The Lake, offers luxury accommodations for the wedding couple and six other guests. The Hankinson Inn is minutes away, located in the heart of Hankinson, as well as the Dakota Magic casino a short 10 minute drive. We also have available our shuttle service for the convenience and safety of your guests. We had our wedding back in October and it was gorgeous! Sandy and Marshall went above and beyond for us! Sandy helped me through every step of the way and was very accommodating to us and our other vendors. The feedback we had about it was amazing! The views they have are beautiful and the set up they did was great. Even in the chilly weather, with the heaters going during dinner in the tent was great! I highly recommend having your wedding here!

I recently got married here. Sandy and marshal are AMAZING people. They made our wedding a breeze! The amount of passion they have into helping couples plan their wedding day, is amazing! My ceremony was supposed to be outside, but it had stormed and rained the whole day, we had to move the ceremony. Sandy and Marshal made the transition to changing the ceremony upstairs a breeze! Sandy was there for us every step of the way. Not only were they there for us, they were there for my family and guests as well. We HIGHLY recommend this venue & their bed and breakfast.

I don't even know where to begin with Lake Elsie Wedding Barn. This venue, these amazing owners, the superb food, and the overall environment was everything that we needed on our Wedding day.I came across their venue before I was even engaged due to my friends and I having a girls weekend planned at their bed and breakfast. It was so fun and the owners were so kind that when my husband and I started the planning of our wedding; I knew exactly where to look. The entire planning process was so easy, communication was clear and consistent, and the level of professionalism that Sandy and her staff has.. is a breath of fresh air! Sandy and Marshall truly care about each Wedding and do absolutely everything they can to ensure that it goes off without a hitch. I was able to find an amazing florist through Sandy along with using many of the pieces that they had available in their barn. I am a forever guest, and will DEFINITELY find myself back at this establishment for the many activities they have to offer.I am still hearing (Months after) how gorgeous the venue was and how perfect the layout felt. We had about 200 guests and with having so many different areas for everyone to socialize and pass time; it didn't feel over populated or crowded. The pictures had great backdrops, and the water brought an amazing breeze to the warmth of an August day.No other venue can also beat the stay that they offer to the bride and groom along with the wedding party. Every other Venue in the Fargo area gives you no time to truly enjoy and soak in the experience before they're pushing you and your stuff out the doors as the reception is wrapping. The fact that Lake Elsie Wedding Barn offers Friday through Sunday is UNHEARD of!If you are looking for a stress-free, beautiful, and relaxing wedding venue with food that is to die for... this is your place.

Beautiful place for a wedding. The outdoor space was very unique and perfect for us. The venue was nice and intimate. Great views, and a perfect indoor space for a reception and dance. Sandy was easy to work with and accommodating for requests.

We found this Venue because my mom grew up in Hankinson, ND. She had told us we should come up and take a look as we had been looking for a lakeside venue. We called to setup a time to check it out and Sandy was very accommodating with showing us around last minute on our way in to town. We did the tour and booked it immediately. It was exactly what we were looking for. Plus they have literally thought of every part of the wedding you can think of, including shuttle services and amazing bar tenders, as well as Bride and Groom suits for getting ready the morning of! (The Mimosas are a lovely touch in the am!) I love that each event of the day was in a different area of the venue so we got the feel of having different vibes with each part of the day. We had a beautiful rehearsal dinner on the lake side patio and watched the sun set the night before! We had our wedding outdoors by the lake and were blessed with, hot, but amazing weather! The lake had a perfect breeze coming off of it! I love that the view for the ceremony has no houses or buildings in the back drop, just the lake shimmering. The social hour area was perfect for getting some nice a/c and drinks after being outdoors. The white tent pavilion was perfect for the reception! The chandeliers were gorgeous in the tent, especially at night! It was spacious enough to fit all of our guests, yet it was the perfect size for everyone to see and hear what was going on and feel intimate. The hay loft area for the dance was the perfect ending to the day! Each area is beautifully decorated and flows so smoothly together with easy transitions from event to event!! Sandy and Marshal were very helpful through the whole process! During planning, through the weekend and even with follow up after the wedding! She was very quick to respond to me with any questions for changes that we had. I can't forget the house either!! It is so great that they took this location and made it into the beautiful Wedding Venue and B&B that it is! The \"Wipperman Mansion\" could not have been taken over by anyone better than Sandy and Marshal! I am so happy to see they kept the house so original and beautiful! They have done a beautiful job with it all!

It's very convenient to be able to have the ceremony, reception, and dance all in the same location but still separated so you can effortlessly transition from one to the other. My husband and I got married here this June and it was such a lovely venue. We loved that the bridal and groom’s party each had their own getting ready space. We had a wonderful weekend! We really liked the lakeside ceremony, the reception outside in the tent, and the cocktail space all being within walking distance. Our littles LOVED the dance space and it provided a place out of the sun for them to run around and get rid of their energy in between events. We are so lucky to have worked with Sandy, during the wedding planning process, she was so helpful with the whole process and even helped work out some issues.We highly recommend this venue to other couples in the FM area!!

Lake Elsie Wedding Barn is absolutely beautiful + the staff is so kind! From the getting ready area, to the ceremony area with a lake view, to the barn, to the gorgeous white tent for the reception! There is so much greenery for photos and upstairs in the barn makes for stunning dance photos at the end of the night! As a wedding photographer, I would highly recommend this venue. It is truly one of my favorites!

Very nice venue. Very helpful staff. The barn has limitations on accessibility for the elderly and handicapped, such as bathroom locations and the dance having to be held in the loft. We had guests mention the poor lighting from the loft down the handicapped ramp to the bathrooms which caused a few to trip. Not being able to bring in your own water/ soda prior to the wedding was a downfall because unless there was a staff member present, you went without. Other than those minor details, we would recommend this venue to anyone! We had a beautiful summer day and the venue was gorgeous!

The location was amazing. We were told that she would find all our vendors for us within our price range but did not happen. She gave us suggestions but they did not have our date available or wouldn't work with her. We could not bring in any of our own drinks for even for setting up. I can understand the day of, but really needed an energy drinks for setting up. They charged for even water for the kids unless we provided it ourselves. The bed and breakfast had very little hot water to support the guest staying there. They also do not have breakfast in the morning. The hot tub was not working when we were there. We were looking forward to having it available to us but was not. We paid full price but didn't get all benefits that we booked it for. Beautiful location but lacking in communication about what is or isn't provided.

I had a lot of time to plan my wedding so I compared all wedding venues in the FM/surrounding area and Lake Elsie was by far the best deal. Our day was beyond gorgeous, the venue has a great set up for a large guest count, and the amenities that come with picking Lake Elsie made my wedding stress free (I know, unheard of)! Thank you again for allowing us to host our special day at Lake Elsie Wedding Barn, I can't wait to come back to stay at the bed and breakfast in the future!

First off, this venue is gorgeous. It’s spacious and very well taken care of! The view of the lake is amazing. I cannot wait to see how our lakeside sunset pictures turned out!The bed and breakfast was perfect for my girls to stay in Friday night and it was even better for my husband and I to relax in on Saturday and Sunday. I was so excited for their hot tub but with the chaos that is a wedding I never got to use it. I’d love to come back in the future for a stay at the Lady on the Lake to really enjoy and take in the property.The wedding barn and pavilion are beautiful. The tulle and lights are set up so perfectly that it really doesn’t need much else! The bridal room is gorgeous and my ladies loved getting ready in there and having that room to refresh throughout the day. The barn is accessible with a chair lift to the loft so you don’t have to worry about your friends and family not being able to get to the dance floor!Sandy and Marshall were the best host couple. They made sure we had everything we needed and helped us make sure everything went smoothly! They were even gracious enough to take our wooden stumps off our hands so we didn’t have to haul them back to Fargo. The way this couple will go above and beyond for you to make sure your day is perfect is almost unheard of.If you’re looking for a wedding venue outside the Fargo-Moorhead area I highly recommend Lake Elsie Wedding Barn. We were very happy with the venue and the excellent service that was received for our wedding. It is a beautiful spot. The grooms supper was on site the night before down by the lake which had a striking outside fireplace with beautiful surrounding flowers. The wedding was also outside with the lake as the background. The social gathering room was very unique as well as the meal location in a beautiful enclosed area outside only a few steps from the social gathering room. Upstairs was the dance floor also very striking and was handicapped accessible. The Historical house which was on site where we stayed was gorgeous! Unbelievable, just loved it! The owners were very helpful in their guidance as far as what we needed to do and the different options that were available. It was a very happy and memorable day!

Sandy was always very prompt with returning emails or calls about any questions I had. She was like a wedding coordinator for me! The barn is beautiful and comes with some of its own decorations already set up. Sandy also has a variety of decorations for you to use rather than buying or renting some! What a beautiful day and what a beautiful venue! Our guests still rave about how fun the Lake Elsie Wedding Barn was for our wedding. The Barn has characteristic details that you won't get anywhere else. From the original brick walls, to the silo, to the tulle on the ceiling, it all ties together, pairing elegance with rustic charm. The crystal chandeliers and cafe lighting illuminate the Barn with a romantic glow. Beyond its beauty, the owners get an A+!! Marshall and Sandy were there at our beck and call to help move things, serve wine, and assure everything was flowing according to plan. We were so relaxed on our wedding day because of their attention to detail. In the planning process, Sandy walked us through our whole weekend -- from Friday night rehearsal to Saturday night last call -- we walked through it together and were able to envision our entire weekend before it played out. This was extremely helpful for my \"type A\" personality; we were all on the same page and the details were planned down to a T! Marshall was right there to assist in moving any decorating pieces and had a bonfire ready for us both Friday and Saturday nights -- another \"hit\" according to our guests! One of the best parts about our wedding package was that we, as a couple, and a few friends got to stay right on location at the Lady on the Lake Bed & Breakfast. We arrived Friday morning and I didn't leave the location until Sunday afternoon! Being able to stay right there was SO convenient! Easy access for everyone coming, especially the handicap. As a mother my first child graduating I had no idea what I was doing. Sandy walked me through all that I would need. It was so great to have a bar right there, a kitchen, food, tables, the whole 9 yard of what we needed. The colonel itself is such a beautiful setting. Sandy and Marshal worked with me to get me set up. I cannot thank these 2 enough for everything they did for us. My daughter was so happy!!!!!

Bride & groom get their choice of saying their vows by the beautiful beach or indoors, your choice of caterer, bus available to take your guests back to their motels. My husband and I along with the wedding party choose to stay at Lady on the Lake, & Sandy served us delicious meals. This is a very reasonable priced venue and guests will love the setting. This venue would be a great place to have any type of celebration.

The colonel hankinson barn is beautiful! A great location if you are looking for a place to have the ceremony and reception in one location. My husband and I stayed at the lady on the lake with our wedding party and they served breakfast and we we're able to use the hot tub as well. It was a great time. There was some confusion about water. Bottled water was bought ahead of time for our guests by the bride's parents to ensure there was water provided to our guests without having the guests to pay for it. Also, make sure you are clear about drink tickets. We had such a lovely experience at the hankinson barn. So many great memories and the entire day went smoothly!

This venue and its owners made my sons wedding day pure perfection. From start to finish. Beautiful outdoor scenery, the lake, outdoor lakeside fireplace, rustic enormous barn with two floors. Beautiful and classy. The on-site bed & breakfast, Lady on the Lake, makes it so convenient for this special occasion. The owners treat you like family and are extremely accommodating in every sense. We could not have asked for anything more. We will use this venue again for other large occasions.

Beautiful place and budget friendly. However, owners lack communication, organization, and professionalism. They refuse to take responsibility for mistakes and the customer is always wrong. The shuttle that you pay for does not go until 1 am like they tell you but stops at midnight. She says she prefers email communication since she has a hearing impairment but even through email she couldn't keep things straight. We discussed who was staying at the B&B each of the 4 in person visits we made and all 4 couples emailed her to book the rooms 8 months prior to the wedding but she never wrote anything down so she ended up booking 6 couples (some of our guests found the B&B on google and we were unaware they called about rooms because the owners never contacted us about it) into 4 rooms and then told me I had to fix it a month before our wedding. We were told numerous times if our wedding party stays at the Inn in Hankinson (which they did) they would receive muffins, toast, and juice in the morning. That was never provided which is a shame considering how good her made from scratch muffins were. They also say the block off all the rooms at the Inn for your wedding party until a month before the wedding. That was never done either as we also had booking issues there because she didn't have the list of people right. Wrong alcohol prices were given to us due to her looking at another couples file rather than the master list. When I emailed them after our wedding to give feedback on how our experience could've been better, they wanted us to drive over an hour down there to talk about it in person but only if it was monday-thursday. After I declined I was met with extreme hostility and rage, saying \"who do you think you are\
