Lake Raystown Resort Reviews
John Stein(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-05-2021 Our wedding at Lake Raystown Resort was a dream come true! Jenn and Dan were very flexible to our special requests and helped plan everything for the perfect day! Even more so, the food was beyond delicious, the setup was beautiful and Jenn and Dan were extremely involved and attentive the entire night to all of our needs and executed the night flawlessly. With so many moving parts, its a scary thing to count on people to pull all of those parts together, but the staff at Lake Raystown Resort did so perfectly! We could not have asked for a better setup, execution, and overall amazing night with our wedding! Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food and staff were. Thank you so much Jenn, Dan, and staff for such a memorable experience!!! Dan and Jenn were great to work with. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Raystown and they made the planning process very easy. They both responded to emails quickly and would always return our calls. We had a lot of questions throughout the planning process and they were happy to answer every question we had. It rained on our wedding day so we had to move our ceremony location inside. They made this switch easy and let us wait until close to the ceremony time to make the decision to move the ceremony inside in case the rain stopped. They helped everything to run smoothly and were very helpful throughout the whole day. Dan even made sure we had a drink and hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour when we were getting pictures. I would definitely recommend Raystown for a wedding venue! Reviewed on 27-11-2023
Samantha Hoch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-07-2021 Lake Raystown Resort was the perfect location for our wedding weekend. We accommodated our guests for a 3-day weekend all at the Resort, and everyone commented on how beautiful the setting was and how good the food was. Dan and Jenn are wonderful and extremely helpful through the process of wedding planning. It's an extremely peaceful and beautiful wedding venue and I highly recommend it to anyone in central PA or looking for a destination wedding, like we did! Reviewed on 23-08-2021

Dan and Jenn were extremely accommodating through the entire process. Everything went as planned. The hall was beautiful, the food was excellent-we had many people tell us how good it was-and they even put the aPenn State game on for my football loving family. We wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you to the entire staff for making this a day to remember. As one of my cousin’s said it’s was the party of the year.” The rooms were very affordable and we had any people stay overnight. We had a bonfire afterward that closed out a great day.I highly recommend Lake Raystown Resort for your special day. You will be so thankful you did! Reviewed on 09-11-2019

Dan and Jen were a great team and easy to work with. Dan went above and beyond by gathering drinks and hors d’oeuvres for us as well as the wedding party during pictures, checking on us throughout the night and even walking us through rehearsal the night before the wedding when our officiant couldn’t be there. Amanda Wolf(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-08-2017 This venue was an absolutely amazing location for our wedding. It was a perfect mix of rustic and woodsy with a high class feel of a ballroom. I loved every second of it. The staff, specifically Jenn and Dan went above and beyond to make sure myself, my bridal party, and my family was happy throughout the entire planning process. They were truly wonderful to work with. The price point for this venue is a great deal as well. You can bring your own alcohol which is always a plus. Our guests raved about the food, the service, and the surrounding sites of nature. The hotels next door are lovely; specifically the suite for the bride and groom. It was rustic but had all the amenities needed. I would suggest this venue to anyone. It was a perfect day filled with perfect service. Highly recommend this venue again and again. Also, the restaurants on site for your guests are great. AND there is so much for your guests to do in the area if they like to boat, fish, hike, or just relax on a raft by the lake. We did our rehearsal dinner on the steam boat Highly recommend! So much fun and so unique. Thank you to Raystown for making my wedding day a dream come true! Reviewed on 21-08-2017
Jennifer Marasco(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2014 I am a non-traditional bride and wanted an outside venue that was one stop shopping for my entire wedding weekend. There are not too many locations in central PA that offer these amentities which is why I booked this venue without even seeing it in person. Their prices and rationale behind the prices are a bit much, but again, there is nothing in the area comparable to Lake Raystown so they can do their up charges and it still be reasonable than a destination wedding elsewhere. Their lodging was just renovated and was very nice! The Terrace was a great spot for our outside wedding and held up to 180 guests for our wedding. We had our rehearsal at the Marina cafe which has some AMAZING food! Their staff was very generous and helpful! We also did a boat ride on the steam boat before the rehearsal which was absolutely amazing! The views from the boat during sunset were priceless, along with all the family bonding time we had before the major festivities. It was great working with Jenn Black - she was very helpful and answered thousands of questions I had via email or phone calls. They really went above and beyond to make sure the event went smoothly. The only real complaint I would have and same with my guests is the cell reception is awful if you have Verizon. That really needs remedied! Reviewed on 19-11-2014

Teresa D(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2012 Lake Raystown Resort had the look we wanted (rustic, classy, and chic) and the service we needed (attentive, prompt, and friendly). Dan and Jenn emailed me back and forth for over a year to help make our special day a success. When the day arrived, the weather forecast called for severe thunderstorms and that's what we got, but I barely noticed. As the rain poured off the roof outside the ballroom windows, I looked around the room realizing everything had come together so perfectly. Our guests had an amazing time and we are still getting compliments on the venue and service at Lake Raystown Resort. Reviewed on 29-06-2012
Shannon Linn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2011 We were married here, and they require that you use their own caterers, which we were nervous about at first. Just because we had to book the venue before we had a tasting. When we had the tasting, I have to say, we were kind of disapointed! It wasn't that great! But what were we supposed to do, we had already signed a contract. So I just kind of accepted that the food wasnt going to be stellar. But then on our wedding day, it was great! I'm not sure what happened at the tasting, but I will not complain. \rIt's also kind of cool how they do the pricing. There is a minimum price you have to meet depending on whether you book a whole or half ballroom, and what day of the week and time of year it is. It took a lot of pressure off beacause we knew up front we were going to spend at least a certain amount. Some of my friends who got married recently became really stressed out because their caterer tacked on additional costs, or they realized that something wasnt included in the initial estimate. Brianna Strawn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-07-2011 For our wedding, we chose to get married outside on the Tree Top Terrace, located at the Conference Center on the other side of the ballroom glass windows. We decorated the exterior railing and lamp posts with white Christmas lights and tulle. It was truly beautiful. \r\rAfter the ceremony, the chairs were taken away and replaced with outdoor tables and chairs for guests to sit in during the reception. Everyone loved being able to mingle inside and out.\r\rWe held the reception inside the ballroom. We chose half of the ballroom as our wedding was smaller, seating 100 guests plus the wedding party. We were able to choose where to have the dance floor and how everything was set up. It was very customized to our wants.\r\rThe price totally depends on what food service package you choose. I thought that it was pretty reasonable, however, every extra thing that you want will be extra. \r\rThe ballroom is very beautiful, the tree top terrace is surrounded by trees, the gazebo by the lake is also beautiful for the ceremony, and the marina was host to beautiful pictures for my husband and I.\r\rOverall, I would recommend Raystown Lake Resort. My only advice is to be sure to bring an Iron, because the lodge does not have them in their rooms, nor is there on in the getting ready room. Reviewed on 12-08-2011
Hadley Bloom(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-07-2011 I would definitely recommend this venue for someone looking for a country/modern wedding. This place is great for an outdoor wedding at either the conference center or wedding gazebo, and you can't beat the picturesque conference center for a reception. If you are looking to save money by using this venue, I would recommend having your wedding on a Friday or Sunday. This significantly decreases the venue cost. Reviewed on 08-08-2011
Erin Weller(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-05-2011 My husband and I were married here in May of 2011. Melanie Lucia(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2010 Beautifull scenery. They were changing wedding planning staff while we were planning out wedding, so there were times when communication wasn't the best and our questions went in answered. But overall- beautiful location and great food! Was a bit pricy but the convience of them taking care of food and any additional tent/linen/table n chair rentals was worth it. Reviewed on 25-08-2010
We love hosting your weddings here at beautiful Lake Raystown Resort! The most popular option is a rehearsal dinner on the Proud Mary Showboat ($275 per hour), Ceremony outside (Gazebo or Tree Tops Terrace) then receptions in the River Birch Ballroom!
