Lake Wilderness Lodge is a wedding venue located in Maple Valley, WA, just 30 minutes away from Seattle. Tucked away on the shores of Lake Wilderness, the property offers a serene, wooded setting for any occasion. Constructed in the 1950s, the building was originally a year-round vacation destination. In 1997, the lodge became a King County landmark due to its reflection of eye-catching, post-war Northwest architecture. Couples celebrating here will have views of the picturesque Mt. Rainier as the backdrop for their milestone moments.
Lake Wilderness Lodge consists of three stories that can be used for once-in-a-lifetime celebrations. Ceremonies can be held in the open air with the shimmering lake in the background on the lush lawn or the beach area. After saying “I do,” the newlyweds and their loved ones can continue celebrating outside. To truly make the most of the breathtaking setting, open-air receptions can be hosted adjacent to the lake. Alternatively, receptions can be hosted in the main building. When entering the lodge, couples and their guests will be met with an impressive spiral staircase and floor-to-ceiling windows. Here in this open space, couples can create lifelong memories with loved ones at the dinner table and on the dance floor. Downstairs are get-ready rooms where couples can prepare separately prior to their day’s dazzling highlights. For the convenience of those celebrating, the building is equipped with an elevator and on-site parking is available.
Lake Wilderness Lodge offers an array of services to help couples host unforgettable occasions. To meet your event’s needs, tables and chairs in an array of shapes and designs are available. Oval, rectangular, and cocktail tables as well as padded and folding chairs can be provided, depending on your preferences. The venue also has an extensive selection of additional event items such as arches, lighting, portable bars, wireless microphones, and more. For a personalized reception meal, the venue welcomes you to work with your preferred catering team. Thanks to the lodge’s on-site warming kitchen, self-catering is also permitted.
The Lodge was very easy to work with, our main contact Karin was incredibly sweet and helpful. It was a very easy process and a joy to work with them. Our wedding looked amazing and we had so much fun! Reviewed on 03-11-2023

We held our October wedding here. We were able to book pretty last minute middle of July. The prices are so affordable compared to other venues. The grand beautiful Lakeview was everything my guests could talk about. We had a Friday wedding so we had time from 3:00 p.m. to set up. Which brought us about 2 hours to get everything ready before our 5:00 p.m. ceremony. If you're not organized and don't have everything ready to go you will not have enough time. However we made it work and it was absolutely perfect. They also allowed us to have our dog join us during the ceremony which was amazing. They provide all the chairs and tables you need and are very easy to work with. I highly highly recommend this little gem in Maple Valley! Reviewed on 29-10-2023

As a wedding DJ I have been to well over 100 venues and I never heard of Lake Wilderness. I was pleased of the tranquil and calm feeling it gave me. It is a perfect space for a wedding with grand stairs and impressively large windows that give the best view of the cozy lake and arboretum. The bride said when she saw it before she was engaged she knew she wanted to get married here. I will recommend this space for those looking for a nature wedding south of Seattle Reviewed on 23-10-2023

Joanna Agustin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2022 Lake Wilderness Lodge was the most beautiful venue EVER! Everyone kept coming up to Michael and I saying how beautiful the venue was! But not only did we love the venue, the Lodge staff was very helpful, kind, and would do anything to make our day stress free. Our families and I would use Lake Wilderness Lodge again in the future! Briana Edwards(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2021 Look no further! This venue was amazing for our wedding! They’re super accommodating, flexible and affordable! They helped come up with a full new layout just days before the wedding since it was suppose to rain all day. The venue is bigger than it looks and can accommodate a large crowd. The scenery is stunning as well and I know our wedding photos turned out beautifully in the arboretum garden next to the lodge. They allow you to use all your own vendors. Guidelines for decorating are a little intimidating but honestly everything turned out how I wanted it anyways. The only small drawback for me was that your booking only comes with 8 hours. That includes set up and tear down so it doesn’t leave a lot of room for the actual ceremony and reception. We ended up paying for 2 extra hours. Lastly we got our security deposit back in full within a week or two of our event. Really overall this venue was perfect for us! Reviewed on 27-10-2021

Mia Orloff(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2019 Lake Wilderness Lodge was an absolutely PERFECT venue. They are very affordable and flexible. I had a fall October indoor wedding and it was so beautiful at this venue with the lake and the fall trees. The venue, itself, is HUGE. It has enough parking for all 100 people. It has 3 levels. We had our ceremony downstairs that fit 100 people, our reception on the main floor, and the photobooth/games on the 3rd floor. I love this venue because I was able to use whatever vendors that I wanted. We used food trucks for dinner and desert. Reviewed on 17-10-2019
Corinne Woodey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-12-2018 Lovely setting! I had a winter wedding here that needed to accommodate around 150 people. With the help of my wedding planner, Lori from Elegant Affairs, and the staff at Lake Wilderness Lodge we were able to smoothly transition spaces from ceremony to reception all without me or any of my family being involved in the process. They made my day so easy for me and my family. The balcony was nice for when I got too hot dancing and the whole area around this venue is just lovely. It was perfect for us! Reviewed on 10-01-2019

Joli Lund(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2016 The Lodge was absolutely PERFECT for our wedding! We needed a place that was large enough to hold well over 150 people without costing an arm and a leg, and also have an outdoor OR indoor ceremony space since Washington weather is so unpredictable. We also needed a place that allowed us to do our own alcohol and catering, and this was the ONLY venue that fit the bill that I could find in all of Pierce and Kitsap county. It just happened to be one of my FAVORITE venues as well because of the gorgeous lake, well-kept and stunningly beautiful arboretum and garden areas (which were PERFECT for photos by the way!) and also the beautiful view of Mount Rainier. The grounds are seriously such a hidden gem in our state, I couldn't believe their website didn't feature the beautiful grounds more! The totem pole with the gorgeous wrap around staircase was decoration enough that the inside doesn't need much to make it a BEAUTIFUL space! The staircase was also a great option for photo shoots and making your grand entrance at the reception. It happened to be cloudy and rainy on our wedding day, but the venue worked with us for our last minute decision to still have the wedding outside. They were GREAT working with us changing our minds so often. They are strict about what time you are allowed inside of the building, but otherwise are very helpful with the setup and any other questions you might have. Rachiah was SO helpful with any questions I had and responded quickly. I would recommend this venue to everyone! Reviewed on 14-06-2016

Dawn Flashnick(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-07-2012 The staff members were very helpful, always available and were quick to respond to questions. They offered suggestions on other vendors to use and assisted with table/seating arrangement ideas. The grounds are beautiful. The building itself is nothing spectacular. We had a gorgeous summer wedding with a faint Mt. Rainier in the background. Because it was the 1st nice w/e of summer, there were lots of commumity members taking advantage of the lake and not respecting the \"No access\" signs and walking right through our set up for the ceremony, luckily none passed through while exchanging our vows. There was one family who set up just outside of the \"no access\" area, which we thought was a little disrespectful. We had 85 guests and fit comfortably all on the main floor with our DJ on the loft. Beware, the maximum number of guests the facility can hande includes placing guests in the loft, we were a bit shocked as we wanted to only use the main floor. It ended up being a non-issue as we had fewer RSVP's than expected. Overall, the venue was what we expected. Reviewed on 03-08-2012

Leanne Marx(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-07-2008 Wow, this venue was gorgeous on a beautiful summer day. We had the ceremony and reception inside but there is a huge patio that looks out on the lake for those who want to go outside. I also loved loved loved all the windows looking out on the lake. There is a giant totem pole inside the building that a staircase spirals around. Although it is beautiful, I am assuming the totem pole is not going to be a winner for every bride. Overall this venue is great and the price is also great. They have chairs and tables that they will set up as well as some other decor pieces that you can choose from. Reviewed on 28-06-2010
