We simply cannot rave enough. The setting is sublime, the food shows off the best of Vermont, and the staff make you feel at home while also setting the stage for a momentous celebration.Weddings at Lareau are a well-oiled machine. What they do has been developed over many years and works seamlessly. This inspired so much confidence in us from the very first time we visited through the last week-of check in. Simultaneously, there was also plenty of room for creativity to make our day special. Helen was a great collaborator who kept us ahead of schedule so we didn't get stressed. She really listened to our vision and was ready to go the extra mile when we had an idea, or be open if it might not work and offer alternate suggestions. Helen was also so helpful when it came to our other vendors, who often gushed about past experiences doing weddings at Lareau. It seemed like some people wanted to work with us in part because of our venue selection! Weekend of, Helen's calmness was stabilizing and she was attentive to small details so we could focus on the celebration. Lareau encapsulates so much that we love about my home-state, it was the perfect locale to host friends and family who visited Vermont for the occasion. Our wedding was, quite simply, an exquisite weekend that we will cherish for a lifetime. Of all the decisions we made leading up to our wedding day (about 4,000), Lareau is the one we would make over and over again. Reviewed on 07-01-2024

Book Lareau Farm immediately if it’s available for your wedding date. It is truly the best venue in Vermont. Not only do you get the most beautiful spaces for your ceremony and reception, incredible food, and a wonderful place to stay, but you also get to work with an absolutely spectacular team. Helen is a godsend in preparing for your wedding, the inn staff will make you and guests feel like family from the moment you arrive, and the catering team is top notch. All of them worked with us to create a wedding weekend that felt not only a wonderful celebration of our love but an incredible event for all our guests as well. It has been 4+ months and we’re still having people rave about how wonderful the venue and the food were. As an out-of-state couple, planning a VT wedding was an extra challenge. But between Helen’s patience on countless planning calls, the Happy Couples visit weekend (seriously, what an incredible event), and the staff in general, we were able to plan and host the wedding of our dreams. One that highlighted the natural beauty, bounty, and people of Vermont in the most spectacular way for so many of our guests who had never been before. We’ll always be grateful to Lareau and cannot recommend it enough. Reviewed on 02-01-2024

Maddy K(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-08-2022 We had a perfect wedding weekend at Lareau Farm. We really enjoyed staying on the property at the inn with all of our best friends for the entire weekend. There is lots of room to hang out on the property, many swimming holes nearby including one across the street, and hiking trails behind the field. The property itself is gorgeous: there are mountain the views, a tucked away ceremony site surrounded by wildflowers, a picturesque pavilion and bonfire, and a large working farm. The food was incredible: we opted for the non flatbread menu (plus flatbread as the late night snack). Chef Andrew worked with us to create a tailored menu and many of our guests remarked that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Additionally, Andrew and team cooked delicious breakfast for inn guests on Saturday and brunch for the entire wedding on Sunday. Lastly, the entire event went seamlessly in large part thanks to the innkeeper and venue planner Helen. We worked w/ her over nearly two years to plan our wedding. She was incredibly organized, really easy to communicate with, and exceptionally accommodating of our various random requests. She is a pro and thinks of all the small details that we didn’t know to ask about. Reviewed on 02-09-2022
Jess G(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-07-2022 We were looking for a venue to show off Vermont and all its charm but also a fun space to party with all our family and friends. Lareau Farm & Inn hit all our checkboxes and after viewing it in a foot of snow in December we knew it was going to the venue to beat. It was an obvious choice for us and man are we so happy we went with Lareau Farm. 90% of our guests were coming from out of state and most had never been to a wedding that was 100% outside they all are sold now and have told us how stunning the venue was. For me as soon as I saw the ceremony site I fell hard, for my husband it was the fact of having the whole wedding party stay at the Inn at the venue and sitting out on the back porch each night and keeping the party going at the fire pit after. But the food was also amazing. Both the night of the wedding but every morning at the Inn. We added the paella as an entree in addition to the flatbread selection and it was a major hit. We knew the food would be amazing though after meeting with Andrew the head chef and hearing the way he talked about food. He was so passionate and people who love their job that much are always the best at what they do. I couldn't leave a raving review for Lareau farm though without touching on Helen the coordinator. I'm an interior designer who had a lot of grand idea's for my wedding and Helen had my back on every single decision. She put up with all my emails and crazy idea's and spoke up with her expertise with some amazing suggestions but any crazy idea's I had she executed exactly to what I had envisioned. Our wedding was everything I had dreamed of and none of that would have been possible without the beautiful and perfect venue and the help from Helen and the rest of the staff. I cant recommend Lareau farm enough! So many people (including some of our vendors) told us that Lareau farm is their favorite venue in Vermont and I couldn't agree more. Reviewed on 08-08-2022

The location is perfect as it’s close to town, but it’s also down lower than the main road, so you maintain that private feel. The inn itself was so homey and had such a rustic/farm house vibe. Each room was unique and cozy, and there were enough rooms to comfortable fit our whole wedding party! The pavilion, ceremony site, and backyard spaces gave our wedding such a boho/chic/comfortable event for everyone. The staff was AMAZING in every aspect. Especially Helen who genuinely took the reigns on all of the logistics and even the tiniest of details to make sure everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Stephani Bezanson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2021 We stumbled across Lareau Farm because my husband wanted to see if there were venues near a brewery in Vermont - and here is this one, minutes from Lawson's and they serve flatbreads! I was immediately enamored with the idea. Everyone always forgets the food they eat at weddings - and it is so expensive! But no one would forget all-you-can-eat, woodfired flatbreads. We visited the venue and Helen, the coordinator was helpful from the start. She was calm, organized, and kept us excited and on task with our timeline. She always responds quickly to emails, proactively provides information, and answers all questions (no matter how tiny) and offers as much guidance as you need to feel confident that the day will be perfect. All our vendors couldn't stop talking about how special Lareau farm, is-how couples fall in love with the place and keep coming back to visit. And it's true. It is such a special, unique experience to have the entire inn to yourself with your family for an entire weekend. The wedding goes by so fast, so those extra memories are such a gift. And with views of the Mad River and mountains, lawn space for games, and fire pits, there is something for everyone at your wedding to enjoy. The day after my wedding, my dad said, \"I think I will look back on this weekend and think it was a fairytale.\" The pricing is very reasonable for all that is included. They make it so easy. And the flatbreads are truly delicious - an easy meal to eat on the go as you make your rounds. We even had people with allergies to gluten, cheese, and tomatoes and they were easily able to make it work, easily. And, if you don't want to go that route, they also have many non-pizza options that are absolutely delicious. Lareau Farm is a special place, and after hearing horror stories about how stressful wedding planning can be, it was such a gift that the team at Lareau made the entire experience so truly comfortable. From the food (obviously) to their flexibility and helpfulness in planning our event and sourcing things we wanted on the food and liquor menu, we felt like we were in the best of hands. And it wasn't the easiest of paths to our wedding. Like many others we had to delay our wedding and they were incredibly helpful in letting us get back on the schedule for the following year. Leading up to our wedding date(s), Helen could not have been a better person to work with. We honestly don't know how she does it with the number of weddings she plans per year, she made us feel like we were her top priority and only clients. She knew our logistics inside and out, stayed on us to get what she needed, and kept everything running seamlessly. We couldn't have done it without her and Lareau Farm is super lucky to have here on their team. The other great thing about Lareau is that they really let you execute on your vision, whatever that may be. The venue is essentially a blank canvass for whatever design or decor you're trying to pull off, and they have lovely touches with the lighting in place that even if you do nothing it will still be beautiful. We wanted to do a lot and they were very accommodating and helpful. I would also add that it poured rain on our wedding day (good luck, right?) and despite the fact that we had planned to be outside for much of the event, we nevertheless felt like the space was perfect and beautiful for our party. Anna Glavash Miller(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2021 I literally have tears in my eyes as I reflect on how happy we felt to be here, celebrating our love with our loved ones. The magic of this venue is it fades into the background because it feels like home. Lareau Farm Inn and Helen Borelli were fantastic to work with for our wedding. We stuck with them through COVID and a rescheduling of 9 months, and through it all Helen was patient, communicative and helpful. The end result was the most imperfectly perfect day we could have imagined, and our guests are still raving about the experience. As a coordinator, Helen had just the right amount of encouragement and assistance, and guided us through the planning process without ever stressing me out (not an easy feat). For me, what makes Lareau stand out as a place to have a wedding is what it's not. Unlike lots of the other nearby venues we looked at, Lareau is not pretentious or fussy. It was just the right amount of elegance and polish for me and my husband, who is a Vermont native. We felt so at home there throughout both the \"Happy Couples\" overnight tasting event and the wedding weekend, and so did our families and guests. My favorite parts of the venue are its proximity to the Mad River (hidden just behind trees at the edge of the property), the rambling farm and gardens to stroll through with your morning coffee, the friendly cats, dogs and people who inhabit the property, the energy of the on-site restaurant (yet it's never too loud or bustling), and of course, the ideal layout of cozy 13-room inn, laid-back reception pavilion and lush ceremony site all so close, yet spread out with enough space for people to breathe in. The back porch is the ideal gathering place at any time of day. Food was fresh and delicious thanks to the skill of Lareau's kitchen staff, and many ingredients come from on-site or nearby. Breakfasts for inn guests were equally special. Our rooms were just right, peaceful and comfortable, and we can't wait to return <3 Reviewed on 18-08-2021

From the second we met Helen forour tour of the venue, she remained extremely helpful and easy to contact. What immediately grabbed our attention about this venue is that you can stay at the Innfor the weekend with your family and close friends. This was such a special weekend for us, wewere surrounded by our bridal party and our direct families from Thursday to Monday. The Innhas beautiful land to walk around, a creek to swim in, and my younger sisters loved walkingaround to see the flowers. Even better, the breakfast at the Inn was delicious every single day(we say it is the best french toast we have ever had).Helen and the team at the Farm were accommodating with all of the ideas that we had.On Thursday we held an outdoor yoga class on the grounds of the Inn- it was peaceful andeveryone had so much fun. We decided to have rehearsal dinner at the Historic Red Barn and itwas beautiful. Helen has so much attention to detail, tables and decorations were spot on to whatwe had imagined. We opted for the American Flatbread at rehearsal dinner and our guests say itwas the best flatbread they have ever had ( we even ordered extra later that night!).The best part about our wedding morning was that we had no worries because we knewthat Helen and the team had everything under control. I was so calm, cool, and collected, on thewedding day morning and it was all due to everyone making the process so easy. As a bride whohad every little detail planned out, Helen was able to place every decoration perfectly just byfollowing little sticky notes I had left her. Helen was great at contacting our vendors and keepingeverything going smoothly. We decided to have a food buffet for dinner, and we still have ourguests talking about how good the dinner was, “ the best wedding food ever”, as they say. I thinkwe went up for thirds at one point! One of our favorite parts of the night was sitting around the fire after our Reception, having s'mores , and watching the stars. Another plus of the venue location is that there are nostreet lights around, so star watching is spectacular. There was not one thing throughout our entire wedding weekend that went wrong, andnothing we would change. The venue is so beautiful, it makes for perfect pictures no matterwhere you are. If you are looking for a venue that is laid back, naturally beautiful, has deliciousand fresh food, and kind staff, then LF is your place. When we began looking for a venue we knew we wanted something relaxed, scenic and fun. Lareau Farm is that and so so much more. We planned the wedding from a state away, so our ability to meet in person was very limited. Luckily for us, Lareau has Helen who is their innkeeper and event coordinator. She is kind, genuine, attentive and hard-working. It poured all morning on our wedding day but she helped me to feel relaxed and confident in knowing that we had a plan. In the end, the flexibility of the staff allowed us to have the ceremony outdoors once the weather cleared up. I am so grateful for this. You'll find Helen setting tables early in the morning, checking in with your friends, family and vendors throughout the day and even in the kitchen making appetizers. She does it all! We opted to have all of our closest friends stay at the Inn with us for the weekend, upon Helen's suggestion, which worked perfectly. The breakfast each morning was made to order and was absolutely delicious. After the reception, we were able to keep the party going around the fire pit, making s'mores and soaking in the last moments of the best day ever. I can't say enough good things above the comfort of the Inn and the ability of the space and staff to truly make it feel like home. We had the flatbread dinner option, which our guests loved. We did this to save on costs to have the Grippo Funk Band as our music for the evening. We got many comments that the delicious, laid-back nature of the meal allowed people to stay up and socializing without much delay to begin dancing the night away. The rooms are beautiful and so comfortable (and ours at least was blessedly air conditioned). The back porch was the most relaxing place to have breakfast and look at the mountains. It was fun to wander the rest of the property too! My nephew had a blast investigating the pigs and chickens and the easy access to the watering hole was MUCH appreciated. Ceremony/Reception Venue - the ceremony space is a bit secluded but easy to get to (there’s a path for a car to drive and drop folks who need the assist). The arbor is beautiful and the reception space was GREAT. There were so many different spaces for people to feel comfortable in - you could dance, talk by the bar, play cornhole, sit by the fire, or if you were the kids run in circles in the field. Honestly I could go on forever - this was such a special experience and a place we’ll come back to for the rest of our lives. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Reviewed on 05-07-2018
Lilly Callahan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2018 Lareau was a dream come true. The whole process was stress free and FUN! The fact that you can rent the whole inn made the weekend feel like we were in our own little world. Helen was amazing to work with. 10/10 I feel lucky to have found the perfect wedding location!!! Rebecca Gurney(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2018 Lareau Farm was just right for our kind of wedding-- a beautiful setting, easy for our crowd that included a lot of kids of all ages. Having the ceremony site, reception space, Flatbread restaurant (and bar), and B & B all in one place made it great for our largely out of town crew. Dave and Helen were thoughtful, responsive, and made it all feel easy. Our only challenge was finding enough rooms outside of the Inn for guests because ours was a Labor Day wedding. Many guests commented that it was the most relaxing and fun wedding they had been to. Reviewed on 17-10-2017
Colin Fahey(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-07-2017 Wonderful event space! My wife and I used their newly renovated barn for our rehearsal dinner and it was the perfect rustic Vermont setting. Helen was great to work with and made the planning process easy for our 40 person dinner. Adding a champagne toast and custom desert was a breeze. The evening was a perfect kick off to our wedding weekend! Reviewed on 29-08-2017
jennifer wolf(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-08-2016 Was a great day!! Everything went really well, even with their main event planner Lisabeth out sick. There was no \"front of the house\" type person, and bc of that there were a few things that didn't go quite as smoothly, but they really did a fantastic job! If I had to do it again would definitely pick Lareau! Reviewed on 21-09-2016
Michelle Dubuque(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2015 If you take just one look at this place you will fall in love with it, just as we did. The location is perfect for a nice Vermont wedding setting. The inn is nestled in the Mad River area of Vermont surrounded by beautiful mountains. The inn itself is older but quaint and the food-especially the pizza is delicious. The barn pavilion is a good location for a rustic themed wedding and it even has flush toilets! My only issue was the innkeeper aka the wedding coordinator. Her responsiveness is basically non-existent and she will not make you feel special for having your wedding there. You will not get answers for weeks or in my case months. I sent an email asking about our menu in April and got a response 2 weeks before our wedding which was 4 months later. If you are the type of person who needs to have a wedding coordinator from the venue and understand all the details then using this venue will be a challenge for you. It seemed like a less expensive option when we were shopping around but I'm not sure what we got for what we paid for. Overall I think most of our guests thought WE did a good job with our wedding but I was sad to learn that after the fact a lot of guests did not know it was all you can eat pizza and they left hungry. This stems back to the lack of communication issue with the venue. There are several other little things that I realized afterward that were missed- for instance we had spoke of having lawn games and they never put them out, we wanted iced tea and lemonade but only had lemonade. These types of details are not something you will have time to deal with or even notice on your day and they certainly didn't ruin anything but it's just something to keep in mind. I'm glad we chose this place because in our eyes our wedding ended up being perfect. Reviewed on 23-09-2015
Liz Blocker(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-07-2012 The Inn is one of my favorite places, and was long before I got married there. It's a gorgeous location with a wonderful, welcoming vibe. The staff is incredible - they all go above and beyond as though it's the minimum of what they can do. It's the perfect place for a simple, beautiful, DIY country/farm wedding. And the price is amazing (cost here is just for the venue, doesn't include food). Reviewed on 24-07-2012
Jennelle Alvin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2012 I used the Lareau Farm Inn for our ceremony and reception venue as well as rehearsal dinner and accommodations for family and wedding party. It was a perfect cozy home for the weekend and it was wonderful to have everything in a central place. All the staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs throughout our time there.
