The Extraordinary Wedding You've Imagined
After 45 years as a professional chef and 25 years at the helm of Larkspur Events & Dining, our owner Thomas Salamunovich has decided to retire and close the business. This coming winter will be our last season of a la carte lunches and our last private function will be held on April 14, 2024. That being said, Thomas and our entire team would love the opportunity to host your gathering prior to April 2024. We have availability to host your gathering during the remainder of this summer (2023) and this coming winter 2023/2024. We would like to thank all the people who have supported and dined with us throughout Larkspur’s 25 years. It has been an honor and a pleasure to provide service, cuisine, and hospitality to you all. Great events are like exquisite food, requiring the perfect blend of ingredients and care. As one of the premier wedding and events venue in Vail, Colorado and an exquisite mountain dining venue, for both intimate and large gatherings, Larkspur offers the perfect location, paired with impeccable service and extraordinary culinary offerings to fulfill life's most memorable, one-of-a kind occasions. Our award-winning venue is located in Vail, Colorado at the base of Golden Peak, and the views can't be better. In the winter and early spring, the snowy slopes of Vail Mountain are literally steps away from our patio. From late spring through fall, Larkspur's lush, green event lawn is surrounded by aspen groves and stunning views of the majestic Gore Range. Now that the wedding festivities have all concluded, we look back and know this venue exceeded our expectations! This is due to the picturesque surroundings, the venue décor and the outstanding service of the entire Larkspur team. The sales and event team, Isabel and Sadie, ensured that all of our needs were met and coordinated to make Heather and Chris’s wedding a flawless event. The food and beverage were exceptional, and the cake was amazing! Our guests said they loved the venue and the food was the best they have ever had at a wedding! A special thanks and shout out to the Larkspur team for making our family’s heritage of three generations married in Eagle county , an endearing event that we will remember the rest of our lives! Anyone looking to do a destination wedding should consider the Larkspur—it wasamazing!

I LOVE the Larkspur!! I'm a wedding planner and get to work with all kinds of venues and staff, and these guys are some of the best! From the very beginning, Sadie and the team were responsive and insightful. They made everything so easy to decide on and kept everything organized and timely for our clients. We hosted the rehearsal dinner and welcome event at The Larkspur and it was such a hit! Their food is amazing, the quality of their service is even better, and all guests and family were glowing with happiness and appreciation- thoroughly enjoying their experience. Larkspur hosted our rehearsal dinner (-40 people) which was followed by a welcome party (-100 people). The event was absolutely perfect! The wait staff were attentive and the venue was beautiful. The food was also incredible and well worth every penny. Sadie (event manager) made scheduling and planning the event super easy with a ton of options for food and decorations. Larkspur was also understanding/flexible when one of our checks was stolen in the mail. Would definitely have another event here!

Larkspur was absolutely amazing! I am so glad that I chose this as my wedding venue. They were so accommodating when we postponed our wedding due to Covid, and the venue space itself is just perfect. The views are amazing - we walked up the hill right by the event space for photos and there was a little stream and a perfect view of the Gore Range! My guests really appreciated having everything so close together, yet there was still separation of spaces (dinner was spatially separated from cocktail hour and dancing). Also, all the spaces are already beautiful, so I saved money on decorations.I knew that Larkspur was known for their food, and they definitely lived up to the hype!! I have gotten a lot of compliments from my guests about the food. Plus, the whole wait staff was so attentive and did a great job making sure all drinks were filled (shout out to Steve who did great anticipating the wedding party's needs). We also had a s'mores bar which was unique and everyone loved it!I really can't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else - I highly recommend this venue!

This is a tough one. On one hand, our event was beautiful and the restaurant staff were amazing, but the events manager was a nightmare to work with.My husband and I were planning a micro wedding and I reached out to the Larkspur events manager for a quote and information. She gave me a cost breakdown and quote for our wedding, and we drove up to Vail to visit the venue. It's a really lovely space, so we decided to book. It wasn't until we were ready to book that we were told about their minimums. Our estimate was LOWER than their minimum and the events manager never mentioned anything about it. And the minimum was thousands more than we were quoted. She told me they never talk minimums until it's time to sign the contract. I think that's a pretty important thing to bring up with prospective brides! After going back and forth, and talking with her manager, we were able to work it out.Our wedding day was beautiful and everyone at the restaurant rolled out the red carpet for us. The food was delicious and everyone had a really great time. The only negative - could have been disastrous - after the ceremony, we were taking family pictures and the sprinklers came on! If it would have been 10 minutes earlier, it would have ruined our ceremony. Luckily, we all managed to run away from the ceremony site for 10 minutes while they figured out how to turn them off. You would think if you're hosting an outdoor wedding you'd make sure the sprinklers were turned off for the night. Overall, our wedding day was pretty perfect. There were just lots of tears and frustrations leading up to it because of their events manager.

I had my small intimate wedding here with about 35 guests during COVID-19 and it was incredible! Absolutely beautiful venue, divine food, and wonderful staff. Even though it was gorgeous and delicious it was still well within budget as well!

We cannot express enough how incredible our wedding weekend was in Vail, and how amazing Larkspur Events & Dining was in every possible way - we have received so many compliments from our guests on the location just at the base of the mountain, the service (seriously incredible), the food (y'all, the food is seriously so incredible, our guests still talk about it), the drinks (the Larkspur Lightning was a HUGE hit), the s'mores... One of my favorite things at the Larkspur is their catering and their staff. Vendors are provided with excellent meals after a long day of hard work with a lovely catering staff. And it’s always nice to see that vendors are appreciated alongside the wedding itself. Hence, I absolutely adore the Larkspur. They were able to accommodate several couples that had to choose a new venue because of COVID restrictions. The food is amazing, the staff is professional, and the venue is gorgeous. I would highly recommend for couples looking for a wedding venue!

We had our daughter’s wedding at the Larkspur last weekend and we cannot say enough about our experience there. From the planning stages through the actual event, we were thoroughly impressed. The staff were extremely accommodating to each guest’s requests and needs and the venue was perfect! Many of our guests commented that this was the “best wedding food that (they) have ever had”!! I have to agree! The hors d’oeuvres were amazing and the entrees were cooked to perfection. I would do it all again with the Larkspur!!

The staff were extremely accommodating to each guest’s requests and needs and the venue was perfect! Many of our guests commented that this was the “best wedding food that (they) have ever had”!! We are so glad we had our wedding at Larkspur. We had to changes venues only 3 weeks out, due to COVID. Thankfully Larkspur came to the rescue. They were more than willing to accommodate and were so flexible. All our worries were squashed and we were able to have the most amazing day we had always envisioned. The food was delicious and the space fit our intimate wedding of 32 people perfectly. They even mimicked our original cake flavor for us that we had originally picked at our previous venue (funfetti with cereal milk cream filling!) so we didn't have to change that. They were just amazing with their flexibility during these crazy times. Thank you Larkspur and team!

We had to cancel our 150 person wedding at a different venue in Vail this summer and somewhat last minute switched to a reception at Larkspur. They were super responsive and willing to work with us which I am grateful for. We ended up having 20 people in a private room for dinner and a nice cocktail hour at the bar. There was another event going on but we barely noticed them. Everyone is still raving about the food and service. So glad we found Larkspur!

Amazing venue with the best staff in Vail, Colorado. Working with the Larkspur was the easiest choice we made when planning our wedding. We loved everything about it from the first meeting! Not only is the staff the best in the business, but the food and drinks will be something all your guests remember. The staff is so organized when it comes to planning, that even my planner said they were a dream to work with! The ceremony lawn was perfect for our ceremony and the views were beyond breathtaking. Our guest are still raving about how wonderful the food was, saying it was the best wedding food they've had. I couldn't agree more. The food was so delicious! Every staff member that we worked with was knowledgeable and so helpful. My husband and I never had a chance to visit the venue before our wedding, and didn't worry us at all because of the amazing team the Larkspur has. We knew what we were looking for was very specific, and are so glad we knew about Larkspur! There are very few sites in the entire world that checked all of these boxes, and after having been to Larkspur a few times for different events, we were confident they could make our day perfect! The staff was amazing to work with throughout the planning process, and were patient with all of our questions and \"what-if-we-do-this\" ideas. After a year of planning, getting married at Larkspur felt like being at home - the team made it all so easy! All of our guests raved about the food, which was hugely important for us, and there were dedicated servers who ensured we got two of each appetizer/a moment to chill before being introduced, got served first at dinner, and never had an empty glass at our head table! The restaurant is beautiful as-is, to the point that our florist talked us out of paying for more flowers - they simply weren't needed to decorate the venue space! There are no bare walls or ugly carpeting to distract guests from, it's simply elegant and requires very little to no additional decor, which was SO NICE to have one less thing to worry about during the planning. It would be impossible to go wrong choosing this venue for your big day - this team knows what they're doing, the outdoor views and indoor spaces are beautiful, and the food is world-class. We will be forever grateful we got married at Larkspur!

Ryan and I met in Vail, were engaged in Vail, and decided it would only be perfectly fitting to get married in Vail! As we started to talk about choosing a venue, we decided that the context of our wedding weekend needed to be “inclusive.” We were looking for a partner who could make our 100 guests feel like they were gathering for a special family dinner, while also elevating the “party mode” experience. Moreover, since I would be planning everything on my own, I was looking for a thoughtful, helpful, and organized team. From our first meeting, we knew we would be in the best of hands with Larkspur! Isabel and the Larkspur family made the planning process easy and fun. At our tasting, we were able to sit down with Chef Bill to share our ideas for a custom designed cake to match our invitations, and our wish was his command (and it turned out picture perfect)! And the food…oh my gosh THE FOOD! We chose the Creekstone Farms Strip Loin and the Ahi Persillade for our seated dinner entrees, and absolutely loved every bite! Our friends and family are still raving (over a month later) about our wedding being “one of the best meals they’ve ever had!” Perhaps the best part about Larkspur is the way the evening flowed together. From the beautiful ceremony lawn with sweeping views of the Gore Range, to the cocktail bar and patio, and finishing the evening in the versatile and open great room with the dance floor, it was as if we had four events in one. All in all, our wedding day was perfect, and it could not have been possible without the love and hospitality provided by our friends at Larkspur!!

We had guests from all over the world and every single one of them was not only impressed with the professionalism and care of the staff, but also extremely pleased with the food. The bar was another highlight - Chris was super accommodating and took great care of our guests. The desserts were well prepared and mouthwatering. Having 115 people travel for your destination wedding and wanting to plan everything with thoughtful details to everything can bring out some bride's stress -especially if you're a perfectionist. I planned the entire wedding weekend from a distance with a 12 hr trip to only taste apps and cake! The venue is absolutely stunning. Inside and outside! A cold front came in for the wedding day and we needed to have a game time decision - do we have the ceremony indoors? The staff is not only accommodating and flexible but genuinely want your day to be as perfect as it can be. I trusted in the Larkspur and they delivered. I needed their call in the last hour. It was the right call because it was frigid outside by the time we took photos. My guests enjoyed themselves with their hearts and stomachs. That is what made this bride so happy!! Scott and I wanted a loving and a personal ceremony unique to our relationship. We wanted great food and an unbelievable party. We got all of those! Incredible food and cake. Thanks chef Bill! Best Colorado lamb chops I've ever had - all the guests who chose them raved about the dish and the preparation of the tasty potato that accompanied it! I heard the salmon was delicious -I can attest it looked beautiful. They had a great selection of wines but let us order in one of our favorite champagnes. Yum to the speciality cocktails and excellent tasting wedding cakes! You made mom and father in law very happy! They like cake... a lot. We hired Larkspur for a next day brunch for our September wedding. I was so burnt out from planning the rest of the wedding, that I didn't want to make any further decisions. Their events coordinator contacted me to make menu selections, but planned the rest of the event on their own. The patio was beautiful, and the food was amazing! Everyone raved about the brunch, and the staff was so nice and friendly. I was so happy we went with them for our brunch.

We hired Larkspur for a next day brunch for our September wedding. I was so burnt out from planning the rest of the wedding, that I didn't want to make any further decisions. Their events coordinator contacted me to make menu selections, but planned the rest of the event on their own. The patio was beautiful, and the food was amazing! Everyone raved about the brunch, and the staff was so nice and friendly. I was so happy we went with them for our brunch.

The food was exceptional, the staff was attentive, the bartender was amazing, and the whole event went off without a hitch. Larkspur was an unbelievably magical venue for our wedding day! Every moment was magical and well thought out by their staff. Isabel did not forget one detail, she was very organized and accommodated last minute requests and questions. I am so happy we took a leap of faith to transform the \"lodge\" for the dancing. It was truly the perfect reception. Our wedding was December 3rd, near 215 guests, 23 person bridal party, and a 14 person band (all which fit comfortably). They were honest about budgeting and worked with us the night of the event to ensure that we were comfortable with the bar spending limits. The only issue we ran into was the ski shop would not close early so rentals / band could set up. We added an additional cocktail party at Frost to give them a little time, and it worked out perfectly! I only wish we could relive this night one thousand times again!

We worked with Isabel before the event to make sure everything was ready including a large menu selection to pick from and drinks as well. Isabel was fantastic throughout the process - responsive, helpful and patient with us as we made our decisions.Once we got to the Larkspur for the event, we were blown away by how nice everything was. They went above and beyond to make sure our event was top notch. The food was fantastic and the service was superb.I cannot recommend the Larkspur enough and will definitely come back here if I ever host a large event in Vail again.

We held our wedding reception on Labor Day Weekend at the Larkspur.The staff was so organized and so responsive to all our questions and requests over our entire planning process. The set up was absolutely perfect. We were so pleasantly surprised when all of our décor had been perfectly handled by the Larkspur staff - when our helper arrived to help with set up, she learned she had virtually nothing to do.The food was absolutely spectacular. From the gorgeous presentation and taste of the table pickles to the amazingly delicious entrees (lamb and the Petaluma chicken) to the gorgeous chocolate wedding cake, we could not have been happier. The food was inventive, beautiful and expertly prepared.Everyone complemented the amazing views from our dinner on the lawn. It was truly an unforgettable location and experience for us and for our guests. When the sun went down, the donuts and coffee in the bar area were a highlight for everyone (especially our kids!!) and the cozy atmosphere you created in the bar area to wind things down was awesome. Every person we spoke to on your staff from our initial conversations and visit to the end of the night was friendly and attentive. You truly have an awesome team in place. Everything was absolutely impeccable and we are truly appreciative and thankful for everything you did to make our day perfect. You exceeded expectations in every way. We spend a lot of time in Vail and we considered just about every venue between Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek and Keystone. I am confident that we absolutely made the right choice. The Larkspur is truly an amazing wedding experience, they offer the entire package. Not only did our wedding turn out perfect from the decor to the food but we had best in class service and accommodations from Isabel Piaggi. Our wedding was June 18th, 2016 at the Larkspur. We had our ceremony outside on the Larkspur lawn. The mountains in the backdrop speak for themselves. Once the ceremony was over the waiters were holding wine and water lining the path back to the Larkspur bar for the cocktail reception. We ended up renting a tent for our reception on the Larkspur lawn. What an amazing view to have the clear tent at the bottom of the mountains. We ended up choosing the buffet and what an amazing choice. Not only did our guest get to experience different food as opposed to choosing only 1 meal, but the layout of the food in a tapas style was beautiful. Throughout the night I had people approach me and say it was the best food they had every had at a wedding. As well, days after people are still talking about the food and how truly amazing the day was. Larkspur is a great venue for a wedding space in Vail. They have unmatched service and are willing to work with any special needs you may have. If you want a truly Vail wedding experience with unmatched mountain views and a space to call your own on your special day, the Larkspur is the place! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We met with Nathalia Sousa-Chin once in March, and she immediately understood our vision for the evening. I can't say enough about the team at Larkspur!! We had planned our ceremony outside on the lawn, but, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. The folks at Larkspur sprung into action about 3 hours prior to the wedding and put together a beautiful ceremony spot inside with the fireplace in the background. \rThe service was amazing and our guests raved about the food! I would highly recommend Larkspur to any couple!!

I can't say enough about the team at Larkspur!! We had planned our ceremony outside on the lawn, but, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. The folks at Larkspur sprung into action about 3 hours prior to the wedding and put together a beautiful ceremony spot inside with the fireplace in the background. \rThe service was amazing and our guests raved about the food! I would highly recommend Larkspur to any couple!!

Larkspur was impeccable. I was very impressed with the coordinator Brittany. She was on top of everything and executed our plan beautifully. The cocktail reception in the bar and on the patio, dinner service in the dining areas and dancing in the Great Room flowed naturally and had a wonderful glow to the rooms. The food and cake were absolutely delicious. Everything was so well organized and our guests were well taken care of. I highly recommend any bride to use the vendor. \r\rTo give an example of how our guests were well taken care of, we had several key people with food allergies (dairy-free and gluten-free). I indicated which guests they were and Larkspur made meals suited to them. They didn't have to double check with the server or chef because Larkspur was way ahead of them. I was so pleased our guests were able to eat delicious meals without question if it would make them sick.

I cannot believe how amazing Larkspur was!! It was way better than I could have asked for or imagined. As a little girl you dream about your wedding and this far outdid any expectations or hopes that I had. Brittany did an incredible job taking care of all the vendors, getting everyone where they needed to be, when they needed to be; organizing the bridal party for the ceremony; setting up last minute things; etc. She helped ease my mind and made it a stress-free day for me!! She communicated with me during the entire planning period, helping me stay organized and getting everything done on time. She was kind, pleasant, and wonderful to work with the whole time! The wine and food were out of this world, as well as the wait staff. Everything was done professionally, all the staff had great personalities, it really was better than I could have asked for or imagined! We will definitely be visiting Larkspur every time we're in Vail and plan on spending our one year anniversary there. I cannot say enough great things about this venue, if they have availability for your wedding then don't even think twice about booking it!!!!
