Exclusively special with an open design, one of a kind window wall, and a beautiful estate one must see Laurel Ridge Barn at Laurel Ridge Estates to see the beauty. Sioux Falls wedding barn. Sioux Falls event venue and barn.
Honestly just don't do it. Beautiful place but absolutely shady owners. Tell you what you want to hear until you have already invested too much money to walk away. At the final meeting they send their maintenence guy to meet with you and his repose to every question Is \"you're going to have to ask Tyler about that\" and then you will get an invoice instead of an answer until its time to pay. Then if you don't pay because question will still not be answered, they will threaten to not let people in. So just save yourself some stress and go to a different place. Oh and if you go here, plan to pay $595 for a pony keg. And $2 per guest for lemony well water. đ Reviewed on 12-08-2023

After reserving judgement until after I had attended a few events here, hereâs my opinion: Clearly constructed during the âwedding barn boomâ of the surrounding cities, this venue aesthetically feels like cheap copycat. It has a peculiar smell reminiscent of a Menards lumberyard, which may be off-putting to some. Despite the many windows, the space feels cramped for moderately sized events. Furthermore, if youâve never seen a pasture on a hill before in your life, youâll find the view breathtaking. You donât have to look very hard to find that the owner(s) may be problematic for a variety of reasons. It seems really hit or miss depending on the reviews. Iâve never had any personal experiences with them, but as with any wedding services these days, use a healthy dose of caution. He has been known to jack up prices stating âitâs in the contractâ after your event has concluded. In short, I think itâs a cash grab aiming to capitalize on the popularity on wedding barns in the area. However its execution seems poor at the price point when you compare to other, similar venues in the area. The main problem is that all the good ones are fully booked. As a last option, Iâd highly recommend. Reviewed on 03-07-2023

I have heard many controversial things about this venue as well as the owners and staff. I kept an open mind as I went in to attend a friends wedding and was very disappointed. As a new mom with a baby I was highly unsatisfied with the baby changing station in the womenâs bathroom. I had to get down on my knees (I am only 5â 2â) on the disgusting bathroom floor in order to change my childâs diaper as well as make sure I didnât take my hand off of him as the changing table was slanted and I was afraid my child would fall off if he moved even an inch. In addition I felt many of the staffs attire to be very unprofessional. One female staff was wearing shorts that I could see the bottom of her buttocks. If this were my staff I would ensure that they were dressed professionally and not inappropriately. Lastly the internet reception was basically useless as I was unable to send or receive any text messages. If I were a soon to be bride again looking for a venue I wouldnât choose this even if it was my only option. Reviewed on 27-06-2023
Jenny Haan(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-11-2022 If I could give 0 stars, I would! If anyone is looking for a place to hold an event, stay far away from Laurel Ridge Barn. Read the Google reviews on the place, they are not false accusations! Yes the place is beautiful, yet the people are less than transparent and money-hungry. Everything is nickel-and-dimed. I had no problems with the way my wedding went and didnât have problems with them until they âreturnedâ $270.97 of my original $1000. I had my husband reach out to the company (as I was currently working). He was told that Iâd get an invoice for what was deducted. I looked at it and it states Iâm deducted for âpopcorn cleanup($140), general cleanup($35/hr= $35*7=245), brides room pillow($150), Apple TV remote($55), labor to replace pillow and remote($100) plus tax(4.5%) brings the total to $729.03. The day after the wedding I got an email from LRB about a missing Apple TV remote from the groomâs room, I asked all the men if they had any ideas. No one knew of anything, so I said to take the $55 out of the security deposit. If they had a problem with a pillow from the brideâs room this shouldâve been the time to tell me, but they didnât. I was not aware of any issue with a pillow until I asked why I was deducted and then given the invoice. By the way I got the deposit more than TWO MONTHS after the wedding. So if there was an issue with the pillow it shouldâve been brought to my attention way before now. When I first signed the initial contract on 08/17/2021, I paid the extra $595 for âwalk away cleaningâ. So what exactly is the âwalk away cleaningâ fee used for if I still have to pay for âgeneral cleanupâ and âpopcorn cleanupâ? No where in the contract did it state that popcorn was an additional $35/hr for cleanup. Photos will be attached with quotes so that they canât say that I embellished or am supplying false information. Reviewed on 20-01-2023

Tricia Foss(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-08-2022 Laurel Ridge was the perfect place to have our sons wedding. It was so beautiful for the outside ceremony, and then an easy transition indoors for cocktails, dinner and dancing. The building itself is absolutely stunning and everything is well cared for. The white garden chairs we used outside were clean and comfortable. The wood tables and chairs we used inside have been taken care of and are free from scratches and dirt. Additionally, the upstairs bride and groom suites are absolutely gorgeous and a perfect setting for photos. The park-like setting was the perfect for family photos. It rained the morning of our ceremony, but the staff ensured all of the garden chairs were cleaned prior to the outdoor ceremony. The entire team was attentive and friendly to our guests. They work with a list of great vendor partners as well. We recommend Laurel Ridge without hesitation. Kami B(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2022 Owners are rude and greedy. Yet the space is absolutely beautiful. We had problem after problem especially after we had our final meeting. There are so many add ons that you get charged that were after the fact things we were told. We were expected to pay another $2500 the week before the wedding. They donât care about you or your day. The owners had weddings Friday, ours Saturday, and then Sunday. We went on a honeymoon right away after and had received an email saying we received our deposit back (didnât specify all of partial) and then only received partial in the mail when we returned home. Upon questioning them, they tried to say that people brought in outside beverages. We asked for proof and turns out that these people werenât even from our wedding. It was the day before! The owner was arguing with my husband about it and sent us the crappiest photo when asked for proof. We did receive the other half of our deposit, but had we never asked, they would have kept it without guilt. It wasnât an honest mistake in my opinion and how many times have they done this to others. You canât bring in coffee for the bride. The owners dad looks through the food. The suites werenât that clean with the amount of money you pay. Oh and the best part is that they charge their catering companies that you choose from (super limited selection) a fee that you pay to them that the catering company pays back to them! $8 per person! Itâs absolutely insane. STAY AWAY. Reviewed on 01-07-2022
Matt Jensen(guest)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-09-2021 TLDR; My kids participated in a wedding; I brought them lunch as we weren't eating until 6 hrs later. Later, Laurel Ridge reviewed security footage for the day looking for an excuse to keep the security deposit; saw someone eating Taco Johns, kept the bride and groom's deposit. There were no signs posted outlawing food (only outside alcohol) and worker told them it was OK. Please do the right thing and give them their deposit back, management. I had young daughters participating in a wedding at Laurel Ridge. They had to be there 6 hours before the reception, and we didn't have a lot of time with everything that needed to be done that morning so I dropped them off to start getting ready, and then ran and got fast food so they could feed themselves before the reception later that night (again 6 hrs later). Little did I know, you're not allowed to bring food or drinks of any kind into Laurel Ridge even though in many cases you'll need to be there all day getting ready. How should I have known? There are no signs outlawing food or drink, only a sign saying no outside alcohol, which we, and everyone else, abided by. It gets worse; when the bride saw they had food she mentioned the food ban, so my wife asked someone working there (long blonde pony tail) if it was OK and she responded that it was fine. It gets better, they have a fridge in the changing rooms, for what? To trick you into bringing in drinks so that they can keep the deposit apparently. Come one Laurel Ridge management, you charge THOUSANDS to rent for the day, you get THOUSANDS from the bar that's set up (again no outside alcohol), and you turn around and spend who knows how much time pouring over security footage looking for anything to keep the security deposit? That's pure greed, plain and simple. Again, NO ONE running this place mentioned that food was a problem (we weren't hiding anything), in fact someone told my wife it was fine. And yet you keep the wedding party's security deposit over something so trivial? They're a young couple who scraped together everything they had to book this place and this is how you thank them for their business? In my opinion this is about as low as it gets. Laurel Ridge Barn management should be ashamed of themselves. Please do the right thing and give the Bride her deposit back (she did nothing wrong) and make sure signs are clearly posted for future guests. Wedding was on Sept 12th. Reviewed on 05-10-2021

Sharla Haugen(parent)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2020 It has been two weeks since our kidsâ wedding at Laurel Ridge, and I am still in awe at how beautiful the day was! If you are looking for a gorgeous venue, with state of the art equipment and beautiful landscape then this is definitely your place. However, I would encourage you, if you are considering Laurel Ridge, be sure to get any verbal conversation agreements with Tyler either voice recorded or signed in writing. Our kidsâ experience with what we were âtoldâ prior to signing the contract, during the three in person visits to the barn, were exactly what we wanted to hear and many of those verbal comments are what were the deciding factor in choosing Laurel Ridge. My caution to anyone considering this venue though, is in the months and weeks up to the wedding there were significant changes in what was âtoldâ to us verses what was actually offered. There were many âup chargesâ that were not mentioned. For example, we were told we could bring our own punch for the guests and water and coffee would be provided. Fast forward to three weeks before the wedding at the final meeting and all of a sudden, we canât bring our own punch, you can buy it from there, and if you want water and coffee you pay per person to have that available. If your guests ask for coffee, they will be told, they can drive to the gas station up the road and get some there. Thank goodness Tyler stepped in and said they would make some, but they will charge your guests $2 per six ounce cup. And, while you are waiting for your coffee, Tylerâs friendly staff will interrupt your conversation with your 3 and 4 year old cousins, and ask them, if you are complaining about the price of coffee. I would also encourage you to lock in your bar prices before you sign your contract. As Tyler will tell you beer will be about $4 and mixed drinks $5 and they will get you the prices at your 3 week meeting as thatâs when they will place your bar order - which at that time, you really have no choice and they can charge whatever you want. (For us, our price was $6 for beer and mixed drinks and we found out later that they charged our guests $1 for any slice of lemon or lime requested). Your keg of beer will be $550 plus a 10 percent gratuity. (You can go to most venues that offer kegs and get one for between $300-$350 and they will know the price long before 3 weeks ahead of time). Unless you know the caterer, you maybe wouldnât find this out, but they are required to charge an additional $7 per plate, that goes directly to the barn. Oh and all of Tylerâs staff will go through and eat your catered food, and you will pay your plate price, (including the $7 additional) for his staff to eat. You wonât need to worry at all about parking lot security. Tyler does a great job of patrolling and looking in the backs of vehicles, for any outside coolers your guests may have brought with them. He will take them, and lock them in his office. Even though, there was not any signage on the property about no outside coolers allowed. One last thing, if your wedding is on the patio, be prepared to have someone there to wipe off the chairs with a rag and water as they will be dusty and splattered with bird crap. Jennifer Candela(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-08-2020 Even before we were engaged, we always knew we wanted to get married at a barn. So when the time came, we knew exactly what to look for, but who knew we wouldn't be actually looking at the barn at the time. We took a huge chance on LRB and loved watching it build over the year. My now-husband and I may have been to the barn too many times to count before our actual wedding, even when it was just dirt or boards. The look of the barn surpassed all expectations. The bridal suite felt homey and elegant, and the boys felt at comfort in their groom's suite while watching the Lion King. ;) We always wanted an outside wedding, and the patio offered several different variations of the setup. The barn itself is incredibly spacious for the reception. The barn is extremely elegant but comes at a cost. At the time of booking, we wish we had known about extra costs here and there, but love that they know provide on upfront. We are extremely grateful for Tyler and Christi for making this place possible - it is absolutely amazing! We love that we were the first to ever get married there in August. : Reviewed on 29-08-2020
Taylor Bliek(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2020 In 3500 words I donât know if I can share ALL my disappointments and frustrations. The venue is absolutely beautiful. However, the owner Tyler was not pleasant to work with. He told us one thing and did the other. He went through OUR PERSONAL BAGS in the bride and groom suites, he went through the garbages on the party bus (being you are not allowed to have a single form of alcohol on his property you either pay $60 for a case of beer for the party bus or get a 3500 fine which he did us even though the bus is NOT with the barn) he told us there was no designated area to smoke but charged us $500 to pick up butts, he messaged our vendors with his frustration but said it came from us when we had no problems AT ALL with our vendors, we had an open bar and spoke with his bar manager and stated we were expecting $5-6,000 bar tab. Never once did someone inform where we were at through the night and once the reception concluded, HE NAPKIN $16,000!!!! To elaborate on this enormous miscommunication, never once told us he has a 3% charge for credit card he also told he didnât have a receipt available. *****BRIDES, no matter how beautiful the barn is, Tyler ruined my experience as a bride. No venue is worth a devastating wedding day. If you choose them, PLEASE ask questions you canât even imagine. He will stick you with everything. We signed the contract accepting the venue price of about 7-8,000 in which he told us that included everything but chair rentals and tables. He told us he has state of the art audio and the best projector screen which was included. We had to pay $300 to use the screen for 7 mins and $175 for the audio in which nobody could even hear the 7 min video. We needed up paying close to 10-12,000 before wedding day with all the up charges ($1/guest to have water and coffee so we paid $300 for that đ€Ż). The cherry on top of it all, he rejected all my parents calls post wedding and even offered to give our deposits back in returns for referrals. He is a snake in disguise. I would not recommend this barn to even my worst enemy. Sorry Tyler, but you did us way to dirty for referrals. Iâm rating it 2 stars because the barn itself is stunning. Management would get 0 stars. Does not know how to cater to a bride and her family who paid close to if not kore than $20,000 for his barn. Reviewed on 10-07-2020
