This venue is beautiful. Every inch of the property is well maintained and beautified. When I worked with the staff, they were responsive, helpful, and above all honest. My special day was everything I could have imagined it to be and I am so thankful I chose to have my wedding here. Reviewed on 24-10-2023

Lavender & Olive is a beautiful wedding venue unlike any other we visited in San Diego. Our top two priorities when searching for a wedding venue was that we wanted to bring in our own caterer and we wanted a house onsite for our bridal party to stay. This narrowed our options down quite a bit, but made Lavender & Olive the most perfect wedding venue. We toured the venue several times during our year and a half engagement and each time we were met with either Carolyn (the owner) or a venue manager who were eager to show us around and answer any questions. We loved the idea of being able to bring in our own caterer because we didn't want typical wedding food. We decided to bring in Fogo de Chao to cater our wedding and Lavender & Olive made bringing in outside catering so convenient, particularly with the renovation of the garage into a full catering kitchen. We stayed onsite at the venue the day before the wedding until the day after which was incredibly convenient for doing hair and makeup since we didn't have to worry about moving locations before the wedding. The only downside of the venue is that it is in more of a remote location and so ride share options were limited. The venue did let us know this ahead of time and we were able to book a shuttle for our guests from a hotel in Poway. Overall, I would highly recommend Lavender & Olive for a couple that wants to hand select their vendors to have exactly the day they've been dreaming of. Reviewed on 12-05-2023
Elizabeth Lang(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-02-2023 This is glorious venue! So many options and the backdrop for photos was priceless. There are actual olive groves surrounding the venue (hence the name). It's secluded, lush and altogether yummy. We loved the total privacy of having the run of the ranch for our event. It made us feel like we were in another world and our guests were all so impressed. It didn't kill our budget either - but nobody was the wiser because it was so large and lovely. It was a comfort to know we could be ourselves and choose the vendors we wanted. We didn't want to feel boxed in by someone else's menus, etc., We wanted things fun and quirky and the venue was very much a (beautiful) blank slate to paint our own picture and we sure did! If I could stress one thing, it would be BOOK A TOUR and check it out. I don't think their photos, etc., do justice to how special it is. My cousin attended a wedding here, so I found it by word-of-mouth otherwise, I don't think the photos here would have motivated me because the photos aren't as special as the venue. (Sorry!) Monae Cobb(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2022 We had our wedding in June of 2022. Although the Groom and I have not had any supee bad experiences with Carolyn (owner) during this process, we wanted to make sure our bridal party and parents felt the same before writing reviews. Upon reaching out to them, the stories have remained the same. Multiple parties have alleged that Carolyn was rude and snippy during their few interactions. Below is a quick synopsis of things I was totally unaware of during the wedding but feel VERY disheartened about:- We were scheduled for rehearsal from 3pm to 5pm. Carolyn had a personal engagement scheduled in the middle of our scheduled rehearsal time and tried to rush our timeline.-Carolyn was very unorganized. Days leading up to the wedding, she asked for documentation that was already sent. This initially wouldn't have been an issue but her venue manager quit mid-planning and, unfortunately, her constant emails, calls, and texts about changes came at a stressful time (2 days before the wedding).- Carolyn made comments about not sticking to our timelines to a WEDDING GUEST who later informed me. Unbeknownst to her, my MOH got a flat tire and my hairstylist had a family emergency. We had to make magic happen somewhere.- I was also informed that by my makeup artist that Carolyn took pictures of the bridal suite during the ceremony. It seems as if she wanted to preemptively collect \"evidence\" of some sort.- While the bridal party was packing up to leave, Carolyn basically told my mother to leave while she was holding my sleeping children.- My catering company left early due to Carolyn trying to make them clean the bathroom which is not their responsibility.- I'm missing my bridal robe and I'm sure it's at the venue.Outside of the lack of decorum from the owner/manager there were few issues.- The Casasita, where the men got dressed, has no air. My husband and the Groomsmen took turns coming in the main house to cool down.- For almost $10k for 1 day, the venue didn't include much. Just tables, chairs, and a security guard. If I can redo my wedding, I would search for an all-inclusive venue.Although the day did turn out beautiful overall, these things are very concerning to me and I would hate for another bride to deal with the same issues. Venue:Nice rustic setting, with beautiful lighting and multiple spaces allowing flexibility in set up. The house is a historic home and 100 years old. It unfortunately lacks adequate A/C for the space, especially if you have a larger wedding party. Similarly, if the weather is particularly hot there is little relief from it outside with limited shade. Need Vendors/ Helpers:It is not an all-inclusive venue with little to no help for set up and breakdown. Be aware of what you need to do and who/ how many people you need to hire to accomplish things within the allotted time frame from the owners. ⚠️Disabled or Elderly guests:The venue is outdoors with gravel, slopes and steep stairs. There are no access ramps (with the exception of the outdoor bathrooms). It can be challenging to impossible to move about the space depending on your level of mobility and the size of your medical devices. Overall:I would think it’s a better setting for a fall wedding, when the weather is more mild. Especially, for a smaller wedding (50-100 guests) that has hired adequate staff to assist with set up and breakdown. Additionally, my family found the venue owner to be quite abrasive and unaccommodating. Though it is up to you to judge that when interacting with her. Reviewed on 05-09-2022
Ellie Ovrom(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2022 L&O was a BEAUTIFUL venue, we are so glad that we had our wedding here. We signed on before the venue was even complete, and it turned out everything we hoped for & more. The setup, which was once the owner's beautiful home, is fantastic for those who want an outdoor ceremony and reception, but also want to get ready on site and/or have a small indoor space for grandparents or little kids (or yourself!) to get warm or have a quiet moment. There are so many cool nooks and crannies and features here. The space balances feeling open and airy with also making you feel like you and your guests are in your own world. And WOW the wheat fields across the street made for some incredible photos. The staff were well-organized, helpful, and kind. Couldn't be happier with our decision to get married here - it was perfect!! Reviewed on 31-05-2022
Sydney Evert(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2021 Lavender and Olive is the perfect outdoor venue nestled right in central Ramona. We had our wedding there in September and were absolutely blown away by the beautiful surroundings- we felt like we were in our own private getaway. We stayed at the Ranch House which made it so convenient to have everyone on site for the rehearsal dinner and to get ready the day of. It has multiple spaces available for the ceremony and reception and makes it so simple to host your entire wedding in one location. Robin, Carolyn and Denise are all so wonderful to work with and I would recommend this space to anyone in the market. Reviewed on 30-11-2021
