Legacy Hall by Walters Wedding Estates Reviews
Reese Leffingwell(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-01-2023 My husband and I's wedding was January 6th, 2023 at The Milestone New Braunfels Legacy Hall. After touring numerous venues, my husband, me, and our families decided on this one because it was everything we wanted it to be and more! The only downside to this booking is overall the inconsistencies between management and inappropriate talk over money. We booked this venue late January 2022. We met with our initial sales woman, which moved to a different venue following the signing of our contract. We were told after we decided on which packages to choose from we could move our package up or down (which was one of our deal breakers at the time being we had no idea who we were inviting nor what our budgeting was to look like in relevance to this). Moving forward, this was not true and we were not able to move down in our packages even though we were told so. Every charge was put through on card and with a charge (CC fee) and fees were calculated and charged each time a change was made. On the week of our final payment, we were told for the first time that we were able to pay directly from our bank account with no fee. Why were we not told this before when we had processed several transactions over the entire year? Following the financial issues we dealt with was the day of the wedding. One of our groomsmen decided to bring outside alcohol (which we made clear to them not to do). We understand their policy and respect the decision to charge us; however, pulling aside my Step Father to disclose such a charge during the wedding reception was not appropriate and could have waited until the following day. The worker he had spoken to said this charge would be $100. When the Assistant GM reached back out to us on the matter, she disclosed that our entire security deposit would not be refunded ($850). There were no damages to the property, the rule was not followed, I understand; but I do not have grace for severely downplaying the charges at hand on the wedding day by $750. Like I said previously, I understand these charges, I understand the rule was broken, but feel the entire situation should have been handled more professionally. Lastly on the topic of negatives, the \"cracker and cheese board\" we picked was a small board and was barely restocked. We had 202 guests expected, I knew of only a few that actually got a normal portion of cheese and crackers if any at all. Please do not call it a \"display board\" if I could have made a better one at home for a family of 5 for a much better price. Onto the positives, the manager I had originally dealt with was extremely uncomforting and disrespectful; however, the new manager is absolutely wonderful. We only ran into one simple miscommunication but she was always more than happy to help when needed. The wedding day over all turned out beautiful, the dinner food was amazing, drinks were a hit, and the staff on the wedding day were kind (only the one mishap with the inappropriate timing of financial conversation). Im all for venues and vendors working to do better so that is all Im seeking here, absolutely no hard feelings. Beautiful venue but please work on making this a more enjoyable experience for brides, grooms, and their families alike! Reviewed on 06-04-2023
Theona Hasan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2023 My husband and I got married March 25,2023 at the Legacy Hall. And I can’t express enough how LOVELY the wedding turned out! From the bartender to the servers to my lovely coordinator McKenna, it was amazing. I had some break downs with things that weren’t going right on MY part but McKenna simply reminded me that everything was going to me fine and made me feel like nothing was wrong that everything was simply beautiful. I couldn’t thank her enough for all her help and the people behind the curtains to help make the night so special. Thank you! Reviewed on 31-03-2023
Ariel Gonzalez(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-01-2023 My husband an I got married at the Milestone Legacy in New Braunfels on 1/16/23 and had an indoor ceremony. The staff was professional, organized, and detailed. The Company has various wedding locations and I would assume that all operate under the same standard. My positive notes were, they met our budget, were professional and punctual, very communicative, and accommodating for sensitive food allergies. I would definitely recommend them to any future bride HOWEVER, I would not recommend their DJ. He was seen on various occasions, leaving the DJ booth for an extended amount of times to hang out outside and he was unprepared which was surprising because we had a lovely phone call with him when planning. The thing that really left a memorable mark was that he had an awkward silent moment during the wedding when he had a technical malfunction and we just sat awkwardly smiling and staring at our guests which felt like Forever! He did make a point to come over and apologize but as I was in happy spirits and refused to be confrontational, I let it be. The second moment was when we agreed on a certain point to end our first dance music because we didn't want to dance the full length of the song.....he missed the queue and we were forced to dance the full song which we were not planning and thus unprepared. Other than the DJ, I would recommend the Milestone staff for their flawless work otherwise. Reviewed on 08-03-2023
Sara Castronovo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2022 For anyone who is questioning or unsure of making the decision to commit to this venue, please read my POSITIVE review points. I have nothing but amazing reflections to share of my personal experience. The venue - the venue itself is stunning. We chose The Legacy Hall. And walking in, we were impressed by the size of the space and beauty of the modern farmhouse vibe. The reception space is a blank canvas to make your ideas of your event come true. The private quarters, which we used for bridal and groom suits, have so much space and are completely comfortable and private. We loved them! The ceremony site - again blank canvas. This already beautiful site, was such a comfortable space for our guests. We also had young children who could safely play and run around without any worries. Personalizing this area is so easy! The sales team - securing your agreement is a breeze. Tell them what you want and they make it happen. The process was done with such ease and professionalism. We were able to secure a site tour and sign right there with the sales team. Having all their documents to show their packages, rates and information is so important and shows their organization. The planning process - you have a portal, you see everything. Working with Jessica through our planning process was a dream. She was so clear, calm and just the sweetest. Extremely organized and walked me through what I need, making my planning process easy and stress free. I loved Jessica for beginning to the end of the event, she was the friendliest, so professional, and responded quickly. The day of coordinator - Kayleigh was my day of coordinator. Not only was she also so organized and calm, she personalized my day in so many ways. That in itself meant the world to me. She picked up on comments I made and acted upon them. She was so proactive which made our day perfect with zero issues. The sweetest soul. Entire staff - on a personal note, I would like to extend my highest appreciation to the entire staff. It takes a village to put on these events. Thank you for making mine so stress free by your professionalism and organization. Reviewed on 22-10-2022

She made sure we were stress free the whole day (as much as we can be on wedding day), helped everything run super smooth, made sure we never went up to the bar to get drinks, danced with my family and overall so supportive of us on our special day. We got married at Legacy Hall which is STUNNING. Not only is the venue beautiful, our guests could not stop raving about the food and drinks! With all that being said, the favorite part of our day was working with our wedding team, especially Kayci and Brandon. I never knew a wedding day could go as smooth as ours did, thanks to them! I met Kayci, our event manager, the day before our wedding and her presence felt like an old familiar friend. My family and friends adored her. Lisa Gibbens(other)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-01-2022 We used Legacy Hall. Pros: Overall, it's a very beautiful venue. Staff are very friendly. We ordered the fajita buffet and it tasted good -- tender beef and chicken. Cons: When hiring their \"day of\" Wedding Coordinator, be aware they won't give you that person's name or contact info in advance and they are only available two hours prior to the wedding start, which was of little help to us ... we needed help much earlier, so that wasn't worth the money. Communication is very lacking. We weren't given updates and no one reached out as the wedding date drew closer (2-3 months out); it was always us contacting them with questions, and you have to do it through their portal, which usually takes several days for them to respond and never by the same person. They waited until a month before the wedding to nail down all the wedding details and create the timeline, which made is VERY STRESSFUL! Don't expect them to help with any set up (other than the tables/chairs/easels that they provide) or to have any equipment on hand that would help YOU set up, other than a literal step stool. You need to bring your own crew, ladders, etc. You'll be told the most popular late night snack item is the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, but be warned, that's what we selected and they were AWFUL -- virtual hockey pucks! The biscuits were dry and chicken super tough! In fact, we weren't sure if they had perhaps been left over from a previous event ... that's how bad they were. No one ate them -- a complete waste of money! We only had one hour to break down and clean up after the conclusion of our wedding, which was also very stressful. Again, it is a beautiful venue. But be aware of all the other you'll have to deal with during the planning and execution process. Reviewed on 04-04-2022

Bethanie Johnson(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-10-2019 If I could give negative stars I would! I will NEVER recommend anyone to get married here. Upon booking I asked one of the girls if the tool and lights stay up on the rafters and never come down? She said yes, they stay up year round. I get on Instagram 40 days before my wedding to find out that y’all have removed the lights and tool “in the spur of the moment” idea quote from one of your employees. Upon initial booking we were notified that the Legacy Hall was being renovated and the Stonehaven was being left alone. So big surprise that my hall Stonehaven was in fact being touched in areas like the bride and groom getting ready areas, and the tool and lights being removed. So you sprung on a already stressed bride who was doing all her own decorations that if I wanted those lights back up that I would have to hire someone (when I didn’t and wasn’t hiring anyone to do any decoration). So I have to pay out of pocket $300 to someone to come in and put the lights back up that I was told would never come down in the first place! RIDICULOUS!! I had a conversation with two of your employees and y’all tried to make it right by giving us an hour early to come in.. Fast forward to wedding day. Your employee DOES NOT have a key to let us in the venue at 11:00 to start setting up. So they free one hour was out the window, while we waited on another employee to come bring a key to let us in. We got in the venue at 11:45! On top of we chose the BYOB package y’all no longer offer, so we supplied all the alcohol. We paid y’all $500 for this option. To hear the female bartender telling my guests that she does not get paid to be there, she gets paid in tips so they NEED to tip her while pointing at the tip jar IS JUST BEYOND ME! Every guest came to complain that she kept asking “where’s my tip” After serving them. Then to have her tell me to remove my honeymoon fund off the bar, ME the bride has to move my stuff else where, I don’t think so. This same female bartender kept telling people we were out of alcohol when in fact there was still cases of beer, and liquor bottles that were full ( if we were out of everything why do I have cases of beer and liquor sitting in my spare bedroom). Come to find out she was stashing the alcohol. Then to hear a conversation being taken place about us between my coordinator and this female bartender is just beyond me. I know for a fact the bartenders got paid to be there $250.00 went to bartenders and $250 went to security out of the $500 for the BYOB drink option we chose. Then my wedding coordinator how the audacity to say “tearing down the head table was not mentioned in the details meeting.” Yes ma’am it sure was because we knew we were having a grand March and the head table was right in the way. There was plenty of people to help tear down the table and put it away so there should have been no issue on her end. Needless to say the $8,000 we paid for this venue we had a horrendous experience. You want your customers to follow your rules per the contract. Why don’t you hold your employees to the highest standards, so everyone has a good experience for the amount of money we pay for the venue. If I would have read the reviews on The Milestone before I booked I NEVER would have booked. That’s sad to say and sad that I had this experience because I dreamed of getting married here since my two cousins got married at this venue and all I have is regret. Reviewed on 07-11-2019

Michelle Hajdik(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-02-2016 I would highly recommend Boulder Springs for your wedding! We got married at Boulder Springs Legacy Hall. We looked at numerous venues, most would over charge and require you to use their vendors or bring your own furniture, boulder does not. Both my husband and I fell in love with this venue. The ceremony site is breathtaking, you get a full view of the hill country while marrying your soulmate, could not ask for more. Plus the views make for amazing photos as well, which for most brides, is a MUST have!\rThe reception building is so classy and elegant, not to mention so much room for a relaxed setting and a good size group of guest. Both the bride and Groom have their own spacious rooms for you and your wedding party to relax and get ready for your big day in. \rThe management team is also fantastic. They answer all your crazy questions you email them at any crazy hour of the day. I never had to wait more than a few hours to hear back from one of them with an answer to my question. They send you reminders and also make your big day run so smoothly. I am so thankful for those wonder ladies.\rWe would HIGHLY recommend Boulder Springs/The Springs for your wedding day, the sites, the venue, and the staff made our day the most perfect day we could have asked for. Michaella Wilgus(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-08-2015 When we first started looking for venues in September of 2013, we came across Boulder Springs and immediately knew that we had to get married here. They were the only venue we looked at and we booked that day! The outside ceremony area on both the Legacy and Stonehaven halls is BEAUTIFUL and the reception area on both is absolutely STUNNING! We originally had booked the Stonehaven Hall, but due to the size of our wedding party we switched to Legacy and it was perfect! They definitely helped us immensely in that change and we were lucky enough to be able to do that since Legacy hall hadn't been booked yet! Not only is it beautiful, but we also booked them because of the flexibility of being able to use our own vendors. They also gave us a list of recommended vendors which was extremely helpful to us and we ended up choosing quite a few off their list! Last, but certainly not least... Audrey & Melissa were amazing to work with. They were extremely responsive to any emails or texts sent! Also, there was a small hiccup in what can be used during the \"wedding exit\" but they were helpful in trying to look at other options and I really appreciated their diligence in making sure that we were happy. We had a great experience at Boulder Springs and would highly recommend them to anyone!! Reviewed on 13-09-2015
Maria Curran(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-05-2015 We wanted a venue that highlighted the Texas Hill Country, and we instantly fell in love here! We chose the Legacy Hall, loving the wood walls, wood floors, and the hanging tulle and lights from the rafters. The outdoor ceremony site is gorgeous; the bridal suite is bright with ample plugs for getting ready; the indoor area is perfectly set up with a bar, buffet, and great dance floor. Audrey and her assistants were readily available the entire year of planning, giving great recommendations/advice, and being available on the day of for any needs. My only \"complaints\": unless you are willing to pay $$, you aren't able to access the venue the night before to do a rehearsal. Being pretty traditional, this was a struggle to accept. This venue is expensive but they do not set up the ceremony chairs or reception tables. While they recommend a very good company to do this, it comes at an additional charge. Other venues at similar prices not only covered the set-up, but also included basic linen and often a day of coordinator. For the price you are paying, set up is the least that should be included. The sister venue in Boerne has chandeliers along with the tulle and lights; I would have LOVED if Boulder Springs offered the chandeliers as well. The Bridal Suite only had a small table with 4 chairs, and a small couch. With 9+ women in my bridal party, the makeup artist using the table for her supplies, plus a chair, and the hairstylist using the counter along the mirrors, there was no where for us to sit! They do not allow a number of things, including sparklers or darkly colored flower petals. While I can understand the reason, I feel it is a little too strict. Lastly, the bar and music must stop at 11pm, and everyone out by 12am. We thought this was a little early and would have liked to stay later. Overall, we considered these issues to be minor, and we absolutely loved Boulder Springs. All of our guests loved the venue and have raved about it ever since. Reviewed on 08-06-2015
Jill Ahrens(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-05-2015 We recently had a Friday wedding for our youngest daughter at Boulder Springs. Overall we could not have been more pleased. The venue is just outstanding, both the outside ceremony area (we had nice weather, and the setting looking out at the hills is lovely) as well as the reception in the Legacy Building. The building has many key features, such as roomy bride and (separate) groom prep areas. \r\rWe had about 215 attending and there was lots of room at that level for table, dance area, food and bar.\r\rAudrey was extremely helpful, both in understanding how things work as well as helpful considerations on our many options. We were lucky, only four months ahead, to be able to have our first choice (being on Friday may have helped) on key vendors (food was River City Cafe, bar was Marguarita Madness, photo was Pink Poppy Photography), DJ was Northern Lights. All highly recommended. A friend did the flowers. \r\rOur prior two daughters were married in big city hotels, where more of the service is turn-key, so this was lots more work on our part (decorations, etc). (We did not hire a coordinator.) But the overall value was better and, again, it was essentially perfect, and the venue was part of that. Highly recommended! \r\rNote that the pricing is somewhat different for different days of the week (Saturdays highest). The two adjacent venues are nearly identical; the main differences are wood floor color and one is direct walk out the back door to the ceremony area and the other (Legacy) has a stair down to the grass area. Both are nice so it's just about preference. Reviewed on 09-05-2015
Rebecca Stein(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-07-2013 Boulder Springs is a beautiful rustic venue which was perfect for our Texas wedding. We got married outside at Legacy Hall and the view of the hill country was amazing. Even at 5pm in the evening on a July day, there was a nice breeze. The limestone staircase leading out to the site was absolutely beautiful for me to make my grand entrance. The ceremony site is so beautiful it didn’t need a lot of decorations because of its natural beauty. \rThe reception site was perfect because it has the large hall with the beautiful exposed trusses as well as lantern lights to create a romantic feeling that could fit any theme. We had plenty of room for tables, a dance floor, and still room for the bar and buffet lines without crowding our guests who were sitting nearby. Our guest count was around 200 and there was plenty of room. Even with all of our guests and my dress, the AC kept the hall cool and comfortable the whole time. \rThe flexibility of the venue with choosing venders was a selling point because we were able to find vendors that met our needs and could come in and make our day perfect. The all-day rental made it possible to do a lot of the decorations ourselves that morning and be able to go back to the hotel and get ready before the wedding. This venue is great for do it yourself brides. I was able to come up to the site a few months before and count and measure everything, so I could plan my decoration ideas and site layout. Anita the site manager is a great contact and was always available to answer our questions. Anita also posts pictures of weddings that take place at the site on Facebook, so you can see how other brides decorated the hall. This helped a lot in deciding how the hall would look with the number of guests we were going to have. Reviewed on 01-08-2013
