Krystle Diaz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2021 I think this is one of the most stunning outdoor venues in the Charleston area and was a dream for my destination wedding. The house and grounds are very well kept, and the staff was always responsive to my emails/questions, especially during COVID. They worked with me when I postponed my wedding from 2020 to 2021. The house was the selling point for my husband and me and was truly a wonderful place to get ready. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and my guests couldn't stop talking about how picture-perfect everything came out to be (even with the rain!). Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone! Jacqueline Savage(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2021 My now husband and I visited this site 2 years before we got married. Walking on to the patio and seeing the Avenue of Oaks, we knew that this was the spot we wanted to get married. The site is beautifully maintained, and there is ample space for you and your family to get ready on the big day. The multiple rooms in Legare Waring House make for awesome spaces for your guests to enjoy. We used one room as a photo booth room and another as a cake room. There is also a good number of bathrooms to accommodate your guests for that evening. They clearly have hosted many events as they have the electrical set up in the right spots to help bring your wedding alive. Also when you book, it includes being able to come and do an engagement shoot or bridal shoot on another weekday. We worked with Alexis during the booking process and she was always available to answer any questions that came up during the time between our booking and the wedding. there is support staff that are present on the day of your wedding to help your planner as well. Our guests are still talking about all the mossy oaks that surrounded us as we celebrated our picture perfect day. My husband and I absolutely fell in love with EVERYTHING about this venue, but \"the avenue of the oaks\" was what really solidified our decision to book. The Spanish moss hanging from the long row of trees is like something out of a fairytale. We also loved this particular site because of the perfect \"dressing quarters\" for both the bride/bridesmaids and the groom/groomsmen. Lastly, we loved the impression it had on our guests! Julia Lambeth(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-11-2018 We absolutely love this location! Our wedding was perfect and the venue made it magical!! Chelsea Baker was always quick to answer any questions I had and very easy to work with. I can tell she truly values her job and takes prides in the beauty that this venue has to offer. The staff here work really hard to ensure everything is picture perfect and that every bride gets the same captivating experience. Even though we \"broke\" some rules and lost a little bit of our security deposit, Chelsea was very sweet and thorough in explaining why these rules are in place; she wants to ensure the grounds always look fabulous for visitors. I appreciate all of hard work and the standards that she sets for this venue! Having a place to get ready the day-of was important to me which made this venue an easy choice over several other locations in Charleston. The house was beautifully furnished and having a full kitchen to use during lunch was a big plus! The four rooms and bathrooms in the bridal suit, tucked upstairs made it easy for us to be in our own world as we got ready and it never felt crowded; there was 10 of us getting hair and make-up done, three beauticians, a flower girl, a ring bearer, a photographer and a videographer with room to spare. The grooms quarter was a perfect man cave for all the guys to hang out in, plus being right of the kitchen was a win-win for them.During my bridal sessions, we had an amazing employee who got a golf cart so that we didn't have to walk around to find the perfect spots! He went above and beyond to help us and showed us locations that we wouldn't have been able to find on our own. It was obvious that he loved his job!The employee's at the Legare-Waring House will treat you like family and make sure you experience everything this venue has to offer! Reviewed on 28-11-2018
Lindy Gilkey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-03-2018 When we stepped foot on the grounds of Legare Waring House, we knew without a doubt that it was the spot we were meant to be married. We had been to many beautiful venues/settings throughout Charleston, but there was just something about LWH that made it stand out from the others. From the picturesque \"Avenue of Oaks,\" to the beautiful lagoon area, to the charming house, there was nothing that didn't completely wow us. Add in the fact that the house had perfect, spacious bride and groom quarters for getting ready (which was harder than expected to find), and that Julie Ann was the most down to earth, sweet person who wanted to help us in any way possible, and we knew it was our spot. Things only got better from there. Beth and her staff were extremely responsive and helpful through every step leading up to the process. They were also very communicative in the weeks leading up to our big day, which was much appreciated since we were planning a wedding from afar. The day of was seamless as well. I heard over and over again from guests who attended our wedding that it was the most beautiful setting for a wedding that they'd ever witnessed. I'd say we'd have to agree. Rachel Leo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-06-2018 If you are looking for a natural, romantic outdoor setting - look no further! Legare was the perfect venue for our open-air ceremony and reception with breath-taking views in all directions. Guests both from the area and from out of town were all similarly memorized, many telling us they've never seen such a special place. Every moment of our big day felt and looked like a complete dream and we are so thrilled we chose Legare for our setting! JulieAnn and Courtney are amazing and responsive to work with throughout the booking and planning process. From a budget standpoint, rental fee is high and you do essentially also have to factor in the cost of a tent (and transportation is also really nice to offer your guests as it gets DARK at nighttime) but rental fee includes use of house and grounds the entire day which makes getting ready really fun and stress-free since everyone is already on-location so all in all, worth trying to make it work if you can swing it price-wise! The only word of caution is that the rain plan is essentially having everything under the tent so may not be for those brides who would not be ok with this possibility if weather does not cooperate (I was obsessively checking the weather starting two weeks before the wedding) but I'd say the beauty, elegance, and serenity make it worth the gamble! Laura Jenkins(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-04-2017 Legare is a GORGEOUS wedding venue with wonderful staff and lots of amazing options for the entire wedding day! One of the things that made me choose Legare for our wedding was the use of the amazing house for the entire day for the bridal party to get ready. They also have an amazing \"men's quarters\" in the downstairs of the house completely separate from where the girls get ready upstairs. There was PLENTY of room to get ready for my entire bridal party, both of our moms, my grandmother and our adorable flower girl. We got there around 9am and had lots of room for food, dresses, hair and makeup, etc etc. It was perfect! We had our ceremony under the Avenue of Oaks and our guests were all amazed, especially since most had never been to Charleston before. We had our reception under a tent on the stone patio and it was lovely! We got extremely lucky with the weather in early April, and absolutely loved the venue! A representative from the venue was there on the day of our event and came to check on both me and the groom during the day to ensure the house was a good temperature, etc. We ran into an issue with the timing of the re-sodding of the main area of lawn outside the patio, and they were extremely accommodating and responsive about the issue and it worked out perfectly! The house worked out perfectly, there were no issues with people using the bathrooms available and our wedding was about 125 guests. The scenery is unbeatable, especially when the weather is beautiful. The only thing to keep in mind is that the venue doesn't provide anything in terms of rentals (tables, chairs, etc) so the fee you pay really is just for the venue and use of the house all day. We loved it, just something to think about because it requires a lot of coordination with other vendors since you have bring everything in with you! Reviewed on 11-04-2017

The alternative venue was so incredibly rude and difficult to work with, while the team at Legare was the definition of polar opposite. We booked site unseen having never been to Charleston before, and aside from the obvious beauty of the venue, the team made both us and our wedding planner feel as though they truly wanted us to celebrate our special day with them. Also, my husband truly appreciated having a groom’s quarters that made him feel like he had a special place for him and his guys to hang out. Kristen Member(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2016 The Legare Waring House property was an utter dream to be married on! We opted for a Friday wedding because the Saturday price point was quite high for us to consider (however, it all goes towards the park and is money well spent!) The house was comfortable and so beautiful to get ready in on the morning of the wedding, and the groom and groomsmen enjoyed their suite as well. The property is dog friendly, so we had our pup with us to enjoy the day. Working with the sales manager, Julie Ann, and the site coordinator, Courtney, was a very positive experience from start to finish. They allowed us to peek at a real wedding setup one weekend, and we could enter and plan on the grounds any day before 6pm. The only downside of being married at Legare Waring House is that the hours for weddings are very strict -- 6pm to 11pm, and we feel we could have enjoyed one more hour. A golf cart was at our disposal on the Big Day for our photographer to sweep us to beautiful locations. We are so excited that we will forever be able to visit and relive our marriage at this State Historic Park. Reviewed on 25-07-2016

We could not have been happier with our wedding there. In addition to the gorgeous landscape, it is so convenient that your wedding party can use the house to get ready. There are several beautiful bedrooms upstairs for the bridesmaids (plenty of room for girls, moms, hair and make-up, etc.) and a \"man cave\" downstairs for the men, complete with huge TV, leather couches, etc. The house is decorated in a beautifully Southern style with and makes the perfect backdrop for \"getting ready\" photos. We loved this feature of being able to hang out with our friends and family all day leading up to the ceremony and easily just walk outside to the ceremony instead of wasting time driving from location to location. There photos of the location are spectacular, but even those can't do it full justice! You have to visit it for yourself- it really will take your breath away. Janelle Kube(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-07-2011 This location is so absolutely beautiful that it overshadowed some of the less favorable issues with communication. This location provides an amazing Avenue of Oaks that frames the ceremony perfectly without a need for decoration as the backdrop takes care if itself. When you book the venue, you are also given the house for the entire day of your ceremony which takes care of your stress as your make-up and hair stylists can come to you and your bridal party, eliminating the hustle and bustle of getting places on time. The groomsmen also enjoy a room of their own which room they dubbed as the \"man cave\". It keeps the men entertained with a flat screen TV that allows them to get a double dose of sports and movies before they walk down the aisle. \rAs previously mentioned, we had a little trouble with communication. We found out the night before our wedding that there was no grass under the Avenue of Oaks due to the number of weddings the venue had hosted this summer. The venue requires that you have a wedding planner so that these issues are taken care of in advance but instead we found out last minute and were asked to move our ceremony to another place on site. We declined and they offered to place staging over the dirt/mud so we could hold the ceremony at the end of the Avenue where there was grass. On the day of the wedding, the stagging only reached halfway down the muddy area and my dress was somewhat soiled as a result. We are still working with the wedding planner and the venue to rectify this disappointment. The venue has been very professional in communication and has offered to help rectify the problem. Overall, mud or not, we loved the venue and everything was beautiful and we would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a southern wedding at an old plantation. Our suggestion is that you check and double check with your wedding planner to make sure that she/he is in constant contact with the venue so that you have grass or an alternative on your wedding day.
