Wedding Venue Surrounded by Paradise

Lilac Hill is a beautiful Barnhouse wedding and event venue located in Louisville, NE. With 80-acres of gorgeous property to work with, couples won’t have a hard time finding the perfect space to host their special occasion. The estate has been a family-owned and operated venture since 1983. Its timber frame barn and Sears brick house show its original 1930s construction elements. Surrounded by dense forests and wildflower-carpeted clearings, this locale feels like a slice of heaven on earth. The story of Lilac Hill is intertwined with beauty, dedication, and selflessness. In the beginning, Don and Bev Maxon purchased a derelict farm property that they believed had endless potential. For three years, the pair removed all of its decay and in 1986 began planting. With a range of indigenous flora already there - some trees were over 200 years old - Don planted many beautiful blooms and other plant life. After many wonderful years, Don transformed the property into a natural paradise. It is said to be home to one of the most impressive collections of lilacs in the world. Unfortunately, in 2001 Bev would fall ill and never be the same again. Don looked after her at the farm until he passed away in 2015. Now, this venue is available to couples as an ode to the pair for their unrelenting love and dedication to the land and each other. There are several spaces to host special gatherings in. Surrounded by many different species of trees and flowers, the gardens are an enchanting place to have a ceremony. In the background, the original barn towers through a canopy of trees, something unique for a memorable wedding photoshoot. The more recently constructed barn provides 6,480 square feet of flexible event space with which to design an exciting reception. It can host up to 250 people inside and boasts a charming look that feels authentic and cozy. Here, guests can find two neatly appointed get-ready rooms, several bars, and a kitchen from which caters can prepare and serve food. At Lilac Hill, you and yours can discover a beautiful venue as well as an administration dedicated to the success of your wedding. Your experience is of the utmost importance to the venue’s exceptional staff, who are proud to offer a range of top-tier services and assistance. Many rental items can be procured directly from the venue, including tables, chairs, event decor, and many other event items. In addition, a site manager will be assigned to your wedding throughout the duration of your function. They are there to help you piece everything together, ensuring that the wedding goes off without a hitch.

My parents and I moved out to this property in 1986 after they had spent 3 years renovating the old Sears house. I worked hard alongside my parents to cut out all the old growth trees and then planting new trees and shrubs to help create this beautiful property. My wife Sara, my brother Barry, and I are dedicated to preserving this magnificent property for the generations to come. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
