Linden Place was the perfect place to have a wedding!! My husband and I lucked out with the weather (it was 60 and sunny on Nov 4th)! We were able to make the decision the day of the wedding whether we wanted to have the ceremony outside or inside and it was really nice to be able to have that flexibility. The venue isn’t huge but we had around 105-110 people and it fit us comfortably! Something to keep in mind for what month your wedding is. The staff as fantastic!! We had the absolute pleasure of working with Kelsey from the time we chose Linden Place up until our big day and we were ecstatic to find out that she was also our day of coordinator. Kelsey made everything seamless. She’s helpful, she’s so sweet, she made sure everything was absolutely perfect. And shout out to Jess, my bridal attendant! She was also amazing and made sure I was happy, having fun and had food and drink in hand. Bristol always held a special place in my heart because it’s where my husband and I met. But now because of the wedding/experience I had at Linden Place, it’s even more special.

Linden Place was the perfect place to have a wedding!! My husband and I lucked out with the weather (it was 60 and sunny on Nov 4th)! I can’t even begin to describe the experience we had at linden place. From the beginning to the end, everything was absolutely perfect! Throughout our event, we had a private attendant Tara, who is one of the sweetest most attentive people I have ever met. For our planners, Kelsey and Yasmin they were absolutely great, always giving us feedback, and helping to make sure every detail was perfect. Kelsey even came by on her day off to make sure everything was great! I would highly recommend both Russell Morin catering and linden place. I am still crying/shaking from the experience we had, and every single one of our guests had nothing but amazing things to say. Thank you Bristol, Rhode Island, we will be back soon!!

I can’t even begin to describe the experience we had at linden place. From the beginning to the end, everything was absolutely perfect! Wedding Date 16-10-2021
Our wedding was an absolutely magical day, and it had nothing to do with Linden Place or their team that was there for the day. It felt like their team actually did everything in their power to ruin it. I am heartbroken and appalled by not only the way my husband and I, our family and friends were treated, but also by how our other vendors were treated. Since I booked Linden Place back in April 2020, I had worked with three different people as there was lots of turnover with their staff. Throughout this time I had asked countless questions to three different people. You can imagine my dismay day-of when I was told that I could not take pictures in the mansion during our reception after I had JUST spoken to their staff about this weeks before. I was also told that I could have a sparkler exit when I originally booked, and my timeline that explicitly outlined having a sparkler exit was approved by their staff weeks prior. My DJ was told his power cord would be PULLED. I looked back through our contract that outlined music needing to end 15 minutes prior to the end of the event, but it also says that music needs to cease at the latest of 10:45pm (my wedding ended at 10pm). Their staff was just being rude to be rude at that point. My bridal party was screamed at to move their stuff from the bridal suite as we were trying to walk into the reception because they hadn't had a chance to yet. I was also never told that no one would be there to coordinate our rehearsal. All of the above things don't necessarily matter, it was more so the lack of communication on their end and confusion that ensued because of that. But more than a lack of communication, it was how rude the staff on the day of my wedding was to me, my wedding party, my family and my vendors. They actually made me CRY. Can you imagine what it's like to cry on your wedding day because of how the staff at your own venue treated you? Of course, after that they tried to shift their tone but it was never forgotten. One particular staff member walked around all day yelling at my vendors (day-of coordinator, photographer, videographer, florist, caterers, DJ). All of which I entrusted with my vision and paid to make the magic happen. My wedding coordinator was yelled at numerous times and that staff member had an attitude with her the entire day. I also caught their team talking badly about me, my husband and our wedding party multiple times!!!!! The team at Linden Place need to look themselves in the mirror and realize they are not fit for the wedding industry. The venue is beautiful, but everything else was significantly worse than minimum expectations. It became evident that they do not care about the people, which is actually the most important part, but rather they are going through the motions and cashing the checks they receive. Linden Place should not hold weddings if they are not delicately handling the most important day of peoples' lives.

Wedding Date 14-08-2021
Linden Place was the perfect venue for our wedding in August of 2021. It was the only venue we toured as when we saw we knew it was just perfect. The outdoor ceremony and ballroom looked beautiful, and all our guests complimented on what a beautiful and unique venue it was. When we had to move our wedding from 2020 to 2021 because of the pandemic they worked with us and made the date change so easy despite a stressful situation. The venue is the perfect backdrop for a magical and beautiful wedding!

Linden Place was the perfect venue for our wedding in August of 2021. It was the only venue we toured as when we saw we knew it was just perfect. The outdoor ceremony and ballroom looked beautiful, and all our guests complimented on what a beautiful and unique venue it was. Our daughter's wedding this past weekend at Linden Place was perfect! We delayed for a year due to the pandemic, and throughout, Susan and her team were patient and helpful. The grounds were beautiful, the ballroom was glamorous and cozy at the same time, and the tent provided the perfect flexible space. Joanne was a marvelous and patient coordinator. Our guests raved about the venue and the experience. Thanks to all!

We had our wedding at Linden Place and it was absolutely PERFECT! My husband and I could not have imagined a better venue for us. Linden Place has everything: beautiful gardens outside for the ceremony; the classic, historic mansion; and a big, rustic, barn-like room for the reception. There's a wide range of scenery, both for your guests to enjoy, and for you to take pictures in. I worked with Susan leading up to my wedding there, and she was amazingly helpful; she was professional, responsive, and went above and beyond making sure everything was just as we wanted it for our wedding. Additionally, we loved Linden Place because of the location: it's right on beautiful/historic Hope Street in Bristol and close by to the water. We had a lot of out-of-town guests, and this is such a lovely location for them to experience their first time in Rhode Island at. Overall, I would highly recommend Linden Place to anyone considering a wedding there!!!

Linden Place was the ideal venue for our wedding. Susan was extremely accommodating, scheduling multiple visits for my eager grandmother and a virtual showing for my husband and I. The entire staff was responsive, always promptly responding to our questions and requests. The wedding day itself felt like something out of a movie. The grounds are beautiful, and the entire day ran so smoothly. Our guests appreciated the ease of having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one location. They also enjoyed roaming around the museum and garden. As the bride, I could not have asked for more. From the B&B next door, to the bridal suite upstairs, to the decorated carriage house, I was over the moon. Thank you again!

We had our wedding at Linden Place 7/23/21 and I cannot say enough good things! It was the best day of our lives, and Linden Place was the perfect place for our wedding! We had 168 guests, and rented a tent because we were unsure of what event restrictions would be. In the end we did not need it, but I am so glad we had it! It rained at the beginning of cocktail hour, after it was set up outside, but it gave guests a chance to explore the inside of the mansion or have appetizers in the small tent attached to the carriage house. The rain quickly cleared and guests were able to roam the gardens outside. Having a tent made for a large dance floor, with no dinner tables in the carriage house. We were married at St. Mary's church which is conveniently only 2 blocks away from Linden Place! All of our guests were talking about what a unique and beautiful venue Linden Place was! Everyone working at Linden Place was welcoming and excited for our wedding day, and could not have been easier to work with. I highly recommend Linden Place as your wedding venue!

We found this venue during COVID after we had to reschedule our original date. Susan was beyond helpful keeping us up to date and answering all our questions. Our day could not have been more perfect. Linden Place is so beautiful and has so many picture opportunities on site.

My husband and I fell in love with the historic town of Bristol after visiting for lunch one day. We feel lucky to have stumbled upon Linden Place while walking around that afternoon. We were immediately drawn to the venue and booked it far in advance because we knew it was the one. It has a beauty and grandness that you can't explain unless you see it for yourself. The grounds and mansion are well kept and the gardens looked beautiful for our June wedding. We were so fortunate to have the most amazing weather the day of and utilized all of the indoor/outdoor spaces. The carriage house can be transformed into whatever your reception vision might be. It has grand ceilings, rustic beams, gold brick walls and a beautiful fire place that becomes an interesting focal point especially when you dress up the mantle with floral arrangements and candles etc. If you are looking for an intimate, romantic venue in a great location then this is the place for you!

Wow is all I have to say. As soon as my husband and I found Linden Place online, I was completely sold, it was the exact venue I was looking for. My husband was sold as soon as we stepped foot onto the property! The reception room looks very simple at first sight but it really leaves it open to doing whatever you would like with the room. My wedding on October 11th, 2019 was absolutely perfect in every single way. Kelly was so helpful throughout the whole entire wedding planning process. She was responsive and answered all questions we had. Unfortunately the weather on our wedding day was not ideal and Kelly reached out to us a couple days before with options regarding our cocktail hour since it was supposed to be outside. She was on top of everything! The staff on the day of was super helpful! Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed! They were very laid back regarding us girls getting to the venue early to finish getting ready. The whole wedding planning process went so smoothly working with Kelly and Linden Place! Thank you thank you thank you!! Can’t wait to come back and visit for many anniversaries to come!

We loved how unique the venue was and all the old character it maintained, while still allowing us to add our own modern touches in their gorgeous (and air conditioned) ballroom. Our guests were blown away with how beautiful and charming the venue was - from the ceremony and cocktail hour in the gardens, to our reception in the ballroom, it was like a fairytale. We could not be any happier we chose Linden Place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect Rhode Island wedding, without the “stuffiness” and high price tag of most Newport mansions. Not to mention Bristol becomes your own little town for the weekend. Everything from rehearsal dinner, to hotel, to after party was within walking distance of the venue, making it a breeze for ourselves and all of our guests.

The saying holds true \"everything happens for a reason\" and we truly feel it was fate and we were meant to end up in Bristol, RI. From our initial tour to day-of at our wedding, Linden Place's staff was absolutely wonderful to work with. Kelly went above and beyond to make sure the wedding and lead up went smoothly. She was such a joy to work with. We were married mid-June and it was a beautiful day. The grounds were stunning with the gardens in full bloom. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the gardens and then the reception in the carriage house. We did bring in a decor company to bring more of an elegant feel to the ballroom and that was just the icing on the cake. The day was magical and we couldn't have been happier with our choice!

From our initial tour to day-of at our wedding, Linden Place's staff was absolutely wonderful to work with. Kelly went above and beyond to make sure the wedding and lead up went smoothly. She was such a joy to work with. We were married mid-June and it was a beautiful day. The grounds were stunning with the gardens in full bloom. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the gardens and then the reception in the carriage house. We did bring in a decor company to bring more of an elegant feel to the ballroom and that was just the icing on the cake. The day was magical and we couldn't have been happier with our choice!

Linden Place was beautiful, and we had a magical day--however, they did not seem very wedding friendly. Leading up to the wedding, they were helpful. The representatives they had the day of the wedding, however, were quite rude and unhelpful when dealing with our guests and the bride/groom. At one point when my mother was trying to bustle my dress, one of the representatives told me that it was horrible and it would ruin the wedding if I walked into the reception looking like that. If anything, we felt like a nuisance to them. hat is the last thing a bride and groom should feel on their day, which is why I only gave them four stars.

As bad as my husband and I wanted to get married in Newport, being from Bristol Linden Place Mansion was also on our list to visit. When we went to see the space we both knew that was exactly where we wanted our reception, from the beauty of the location & the memories as girl since my grandma was one of their gardeners, our decision was made. Susan Battle was also such a joy to work with & truly made our wedding experience such a lovely one, that we all can't stop talking about! We had a bit of rain before the wedding, so the gardens were a bit damp however, everyone was quick to move things around for cocktail hour to keep everyone off of the damp grass and our reception was held in the carriage house with 119 guests and it was perfect! We utilized the tented area for our custom bar, photo booth & dessert/coffee station. The true gem of Linden Place though was Susan, who was so kind, informative, welcoming and gave us a great list of recommendations for catering, decor, music etc. Using Susan's recommendations we were able to book a room at the Bristol Harbor Inn early enough before it was sold out! It was reassuring that every vendor we hired had amazing things to say about their experiences at Linden Place as well! Overall, every experience with Linden Place from beginning to end was amazing and accommodating and I wouldn't have chose any other venue

Despite the rain, the entire event was flawless. Having everything take place inside the carriage house, made for an intimate and cozy experience. From the gardens outside providing a stunning ceremony backdrop, to the carriage house's golden brick fireplace to the massive amount of history in the museum. Our guests raved about the venue and how perfect and classy it was! It is pure perfection! Not to mention Bristol is the most adorable town for your guests to make a weekend out of! Most of our guests booked Air B&B's around the area and we essentially took over the town! Susan was a dream to work with - she was super responsive and patient with all of my questions. She worked with me on every request I had and was always super accommodating. Wedding planning is super stressful and I couldn't imagine working with anyone but Susan and the Linden Place staff! My husband and I will be visiting Linden Place for years and years to come!!

Linden Place Mansion and Susan Battle truly made our wedding dreams and vision a reality and event that everyone in our lives cannot stop talking about! We were married in the back garden of Linden Place and hosted our reception in the carriage house on October 8th, 2016, yet we fell in love with Susan, Linden Place and Bristol Rhode Island almost 2 years prior. I had always wanted an intimate tent wedding on the grounds of a beautiful estate and we searched many options throughout New England. What I started to realize as we searched is that the interiors of tents take A LOT of extra money and effort to aesthetically finesse and that grand, historic estates have A LOT of restrictions. LP was the last stop in a very long day of venue hunting and we almost decided to skip, as the initial images we saw online did not match what I thought I wanted in my head. After driving down the main street of Bristol and seeing the carriage house, back garden and gorgeous staircase inside the mansion I was hooked- the icing on the cake though was Susan, who was SO incredibly welcoming and gave us a MILLION great recommendations that very first day- before we had officially booked LP, based on Susan's recommendation we had already booked a room block at the Bristol Harbor Inn! Every single experience with LP from beginning to end was amazing and after obsessing about weddings for over 2 years, I literally cannot think of a single venue that would have been as supportive and accommodating in making our dreams come true. The vision in my head required working with multiple vendors and creating details and arrangements that had never been done within the space, yet every vendor we hired had amazing things to say about their experiences at Linden Place and felt confident that LP was the perfect venue to execute our vision- throughout the planning we were validated over and over again that we had made the right choice. As for our actual wedding day, the entire LP team was AMAZING in coordinating our wedding needs, along with the needs of the museum and they made all of our guests feel comfortable and welcome. Everything was so smooth and organized- I didn't feel rushed or pushed at any point during the day! LP provided a flexible and intimate venue for the romantic New England fall wedding fantasy we envisioned in our heads and the comfort, convenience and welcoming tone of the town of Bristol made the entire weekend enjoyable and easy for our guests- the charm of LP truly matches the charm of the surrounding town.We genuinely cannot say enough about our experience and wedding at LP and are so grateful that our wedding videos and pictures allow us to relive the weekend over and over and over. We also received as a wedding gift, a beautiful framed drawing of Linden Place and it hangs in a place of honor in our home. Susan, the coordinator, is everybody's dream go-to person. She is quick to respond, knowledgeable, super friendly, and extremely helpful. The grounds are beautiful..you would never know what is behind Linden Place from the street. The ballroom is gorgeous - warm and rustic, with large wooden beams and a gorgeous fireplace. Our wedding was a very DIY project and we did all our own flowers and decorations. Susan was not only understanding, but went above and beyond to make sure we could have the wedding we wanted. She even kept an eye on the weather all week, and when it was taking a turn for the worst came up with and offered up an option to make sure our cocktail hour didn't leave our guests wind-swept and drenched. I would recommend this beautiful space over and over again to anyone not only because it is stunning, but because the staff is so lovely - You will not be disappointed!

Linden Place could not be more beautiful. While my husband and I were touring it as a potential venue I turned around and looked at him and he whispered to me \"oh this is it\"! We just got married there on September 17th and it was everything we dreamed of and more. We had our ceremony in the garden and our reception in the ball room (but looks more like a carriage house which we loved) and I loved how our guests could go and walk around the inside of the mansion during cocktail hour. We got so many compliments how amazing and how cool the venue was. Susan the site administrator is super friendly, and helpful and was quick to respond to my e-mails. The rest of the Linden Place staff was helpful as well especially Eileen. There was some confusion with some of the bridal on when they were supposed to walk but Eileen came over and straightened everyone out and it all went perfectly. So if you're looking for that Newport Mansion type wedding but don't have the budget and don't like the stuffiness of those massive Newport Mansion's with a million rules you need to follow, then Linden Place is the perfect spot.

We got married at Linden Place last month and are still on cloud nine after our perfect day. I'm originally from Rhode Island but live out of state. When I came home to look at venues, I was struck by the beauty of the museum/gardens (which I had visited as a little girl) and at how accommodating their staff was. Susan was always responsive to my emails/calls and provided us with helpful hints/reminders along the way. Planning an out of state wedding is hard, so having a patient staff was incredibly important to me. On a personal note, the kindness of their staff really made an impression on us. It's the kind of kindness I don't think we would have found at other venues. My mother has multiple sclerosis so it is often hard for her to get around (especially in the summer). Linden Place opened up for us a half hour early to accommodate my Mom's disability which allowed us to get her settled before the ceremony. This not only kept our photos/ceremony/reception on schedule, but made my Mom's day a lot easier. On the day of our rehearsal, the Director of Linden Place even met us to see if there was anything he and his staff could do leading up to the wedding. Linden Place was the perfect wedding venue. We were able to get married in the gardens, have our cocktail hour outside (until it rained!) and then had a perfect reception in the carriage house (with newly finished floors btw!)I would recommend Linden Place over and over again. And a huge thank you to their entire staff for everything they did to help make our day perfect.

Hidden gem in Bristol!\rI've know about Linden Place ever since I was younger when I attended a family wedding there. Special shoutout to my cousin, JC! So much love for you! The years passed by, and then my parents for the last few years have rented houses in the area so we would go up there during the summertime. Walking around the town of Bristol and just passing Linden Place always made me think that this could be the place where I want to get married. A month ago that wish came true and it was the best day ever. It now holds a very special place in our hearts. The day couldn't of been more perfect. Susan Battle was such a huge help during the whole wedding process. She was very responsive to any emails or calls, and she answered every question in full details leading up to the big day. If you have an question, she's got an answer! Couldn't of done this without her! The day of the wedding , everything was beautiful! From the flowers, to the food, music, etc. everything just ran so smoothly and how we wanted it. A few of my favorite things about Linden Place is that they have the gardens in the back where you can have your ceremony, cocktail hour can be on the grounds and inside the mansion( our guests enjoyed this!) and then there is the beautiful and intimate ballroom which I absolutely love for the reception. It was such an amazing day. Linden place is a true gem that will make your day special and memorable. \r

We toured about 7 venues and nothing compared to Linden Place for us. It offered the perfect mix of rustic/romantic for my wife and I. We feel in love with the garden where the ceremony took place along with the reception hall that has brick walls with high wood beam ceilings. We also were happy to hear that they offered a plan B in case of rain. There is a tent that is premaritally set up off the side of the reception hall and if it had rained, the ceremony would have taken place in the hall, gone under the tent for cocktail hour while the caterer flipped it for dinner and then back into the hall. Luckily, we didn't have to resort to this as the weather was perfect.\r\rA few things that we weren't too thrilled about... right when our ceremony started, one of the neighbors whose backyard touches Linden's grounds decided to start running their leaf blower right up against their fence. There was a cop on duty so my wife told her to please go ask him to turn it off (we were having a quick 15 minute ceremony). When the cop went over, the neighbor started arguing with the cop and said that music was too loud. Come to find out, he does this every weekend. So when it came to the reception and the dancing started, we were told that we had to shut the 2 main big doors to the hall because of the neighbor calling in noise complaints (this was at about 8:00, and legally you can't call until after 10:00). This made the room VERY hot and our guests kept having to go outside to cool down. We believe that we should have been warned about this neighbor from the beginning as he really did cause much stress throughout the night.\r\rSusan, the wedding coordinator was a pleasure to work with and was extremely helpful through the wedding process.

My husband and I chose Linden Place because of it's location and beauty in the heart of Bristol. I worked with Susan in coordinating all the details prior to the wedding. She was super nice, extremely professional and quick in responding to my many questions. The day of the wedding, Jim was there to help coordinate the event and he was an absolute peach. They made sure that I had everything I needed, the grounds were pristine. Even though the weather didn't warm up to have the flowers bloom, they made sure that the gardens looked immaculate. Also because of the weather I had the ceremony inside the carriage house. With the roaring fire in the fireplace, the ceremony was a dream, beautifully set up chapel style. The entire wedding was gorgeous, couldn't have asked for a better venue, it was perfect.

My husband and I visited several wedding locations in the Bristol area along with my parents and in the end decided on Linden Place for its beauty, elegance, history, and proximity to downtown Bristol (it IS downtown Bristol), as well as for the professionalism of its management team. \r\rWe got a really good vibe from the start and everything lived up to our expectations. Susan in particular was wonderful, acting more like a wedding planner with excellent recommendations for caterers, florists, bands, decorations, etc, which made the planning process on our end a lot easier. She even let us return to do a second photo shoot a few months later to capture some images that we hadn't had time to do the day of the actual wedding. \r\rThe Linden Place mansion is absolutely gorgeous and the history intriguing. Our guests, particularly those from France who had never been to the US before, enjoyed guided visits of the house led by Linden Place tour guides before the start of the cocktail hour in the garden. \r\rOur ceremony took place at St. Mary's Church, just around the corner, and most of our guests stayed at the Bristol Harbor Inn. We had our hair done at Hair, Heart and Soul. The close proximity of all these locations made the wedding day logistics a breeze, especially for our guests who had two hours of free time between the ceremony and the start of cocktail hour. There was no shortage of activities within walking distance - plenty of outdoors bars, waterside walks, parks and boutique stores. \r\rAll our guests commented on how beautiful the space was. The carriage house with its golden brick walls created a great environment for dinner and dancing. The overall ambiance was warm and inviting - not at all imposing or overwhelming like some venues can be, in my opinion. \r\rIt did get a little warm inside the carriage house, being August, but the air conditioning system cooled things down nicely. We had around 120 guests. We chose to seat all of them inside the carriage house, rather than seating some in the adjacent tented patio. Not a lot of space was left for dancing, but we solved this (our plan in advance) by moving the wedding party's table under the tent after dinner. This worked just fine, but in retrospect I might have put some tables underneath the tent from the start instead (and as advised by the Linden Place team). \r\rOne last point is that there is now a new art gallery beside the carriage house that can serve as a backup cocktail location in the event of rain (which fortunately wasn't the case the day of our wedding!)\r\rI highly recommend Linden Place for both the venue itself and the quality of service and management. \r

I am so glad that we chose Linden Linden Place as our ceremony and reception venue. Susan was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process and she always available for any questions and wrote back to e-mails within that day. The staff were so sweet and helpful. They made us feel at home and helped with anything we needed on the wedding day. The grounds were beautiful and we loved having so many choices of places to take photographs at. The mansion and grounds are beautifully kept and the privacy the garden provided allowed us to have an intimate event while still in the heart of historic Bristol. We had our ceremony on site, which allowed the day to progress naturally without needing to travel from place to place. The mansion makes for truly lovely pictures, especially the conservatory and windows on the second floor. The ballroom was the perfect size for our family and friends to celebrate with us and looked beautiful with our simple decorations. Linden Place has plenty of parking for guests during events and is easy to get to. If you are looking for a venue that is true to the Rhode Island environment (historic and not far from water), I encourage you to look at Linden Place. I highly recommend this beautiful venue!

In August 2007, we were were married at Linden place and all I can still say is what a Magical day! We had our ceremony outside, dinner under the tent and dancing in the barn thanks to the help of Jim and Susan! So look no further and make your wedding magical!

The Linden Place was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted a vintage feel for our wedding and this was perfect. Getting ready in the mansion was so special and having our ceremony in the back garden was beautiful! The ballroom is so elegant that we used very minimal decorations. The only one complaint I have is that there were huge floor fans in the ballroom that would have been used had it been hot for our wedding. But these fans are now in a lot of our wedding photos.

The Linden Place was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted a vintage feel for our wedding and this was perfect. Getting ready in the mansion was so special and having our ceremony in the back garden was beautiful! The ballroom is so elegant that we used very minimal decorations. We chose this venue because of the beauty and the character! This venue speaks for itself and needs little additional decorations and lighting! Our guests loved it and we felt like we were in a cozy carriage house with all our friends and family! The staff was wonderful and accommodating!

We had the ceremony in the garden with cocktail hour and reception in the carriage house - just magical. All my guests could not believe that this place existed just off of Hope Street in Bristol. Susan and her team were especially helpful with all the planning working up to the big day. I could not have done it without them! I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for a beautiful setting at a great price to get married. It truly is a hidden gem!

My now husband and I had been looking for a place to have our wedding (both ceremony and reception) in March and kept running into the same problems: either it was way out of our budget or the representative was very uncomfortable to talk to. So when we came across Linden Place it was like a breath of fresh air. I still wasn't convinced that it was the right place when we drove up to see it, but boy was I wrong. We walked up to Linden Place and Susan (who is just about one of the nicest people we've ever dealt with) greeted us with a big smile and seemed excited to show us the house. Long story short it was love at first sight. Literally, we took 2 steps into the house and then proceeded to ask if they needed someone to live there and take care of the house. Haha!\rWe had the ceremony in the house and then the reception in their ballroom and the whole night went so smooth. The team at Linden Place worked super well with our caterer and they were very accommodating.\rBecause we were on a budget we decided to have the wedding on a Sunday out of the main season and Susan was very willing to work with us.\rThat ended up being a much longer review than I originally wanted to write but I really just cannot recommend this place enough. Linden Place was a dream come true. My now husband and I were looking for an indoor/outdoor location. This was our second venue we looked at. We visited Linden Place January 2013, even though it was a cold, partly cloudy day, I fell in love with Linden Place. It had a vintage vibe which was what we were looking for in a venue. The mansion is beautiful, it had a spiral staircase which also made my day.\rWe made our decision that following afternoon that we needed to have our wedding at Linden Place.\rAfter our wedding we got so many compliments on the venue. Its great for photos, outdoor ceremonies, indoor ceremonies. Has a beautiful reception area too. My husband and I are so glad we chose this place, our wedding was picture perfect and part of that is because of Linden Place.\rThank you!

Linden Place was a dream come true. My now husband and I were looking for an indoor/outdoor location. This was our second venue we looked at. We visited Linden Place January 2013, even though it was a cold, partly cloudy day, I fell in love with Linden Place. It had a vintage vibe which was what we were looking for in a venue. The mansion is beautiful, it had a spiral staircase which also made my day.\rWe made our decision that following afternoon that we needed to have our wedding at Linden Place.\rAfter our wedding we got so many compliments on the venue. Its great for photos, outdoor ceremonies, indoor ceremonies. Has a beautiful reception area too. My husband and I are so glad we chose this place, our wedding was picture perfect and part of that is because of Linden Place.\rThank you!

We absolutely fell in love with Linden Place as soon as we saw it. It has such a classic, romantic feel to it and we love the surrounding cute town as well! There are so many unique places for pictures and we loved that you could be out on the grounds, or in the tent, or in the main reception hall throughout the wedding. The staff was very accomodating and answered any little questions we had throughout the whole planning process.

I give Linden Place an overall rating of 5 out of 5 based on my wonderful experience with them in planning my wedding. The day of went off without a hitch! Over the year-and-a-half that I planned for my wedding, both Jim and Susan (event coordinators) were helpful and informative and patiently fielded all of my questions. Each time I talked with them or visited Linden Place for walk-throughs, I felt more and more reassured that they were professionals in wedding and event coordinating. They knew exactly what they were doing with each aspect of my wedding - not once did I feel doubtful of their knowledge and expertise. Susan provided me with lists of vendors, which was very helpful in my planning. These vendors work closely with the Linden Place staff on a regular basis, and knew all the ins-and-outs of the venue, making the day run smoothly. My wedding day was absolutely beautiful, due in no small part to the gorgeous setting of Linden Place. All of my guests were impressed, and I had countless compliments on my choice of venue. We used the gardens for the ceremony, the tent (which is provided in the summer months as part of the venue!) and carriage house for the reception. My bridesmaids, mother, mother-in-law and I got ready in the beautiful room upstairs in the house. We were alloted plenty of time (a total of 7 hours - 2 hours to get ready, 5 hours for the event) for the day. Overall, it was perfect and my husband, family, friends and I have lifelong memories of a beautiful day in a beautiful setting. I enthusiastically recommend Linden Place to future brides looking for a beautiful venue with helpful, knowledgeable staff!

Linden Place is an amazing venue if you're looking to get married in Bristol. Can't be the photos (even on a freezing, rainy day like mine)! Only gave 4 stars because it was expensive - a splurge for us (but worth it for what we wanted), and they are very strict when it comes to \"the rules\" (i.e. you can't put things down on certain chairs, and they give you a looonngg list of rules to follow). I don't think there is anything bad I could say about the actual venue, it is perfect! It really is better than a dream in my opinion. One huge complaint is that there was no way they could keep my centerpieces overnight so I had to arrange for them to be brought the day of. A lot of these places make you feel like you are getting punished for doing things yourself instead of hiring a florist or wedding planner. Since it doesn't provide the food our caterer also had to move the chairs from the ceremony site to the reception site of the property. It's an inconvenience but is very important to inform your caterer of a head of time if you plan on having your ceremony there.

If you are looking for a truly unique location to get married, this is the place! Vintage Chic would be one way to describe it. The Museum is so rich in history, and provides some very beautiful and fun photo opportunities. The venue comes with an adjoining tent, with a hardwood floor, as well as the carriage room which is where your reception can be held. The gardens are beautiful, and so many pretty trees make it the perfect location for cocktail hour. Linden Place allows you to decorate as you wish, and were always very flexible with any of my requests. Susan Battle is quick to respond to any questions or concerns, offers great tips and advice, and is very accomodating in any way she can be. When searching for venues, this was always at the top of my list, and it's also quite cost efficient considering what you get. For example, a tent at another location would cost extra, and maybe upwards of $5,000. Here it is included for your use however you wish and is a part of the total fee. I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out here. Everything was just beautiful and truly unique, not a typical cookie cutter wedding location. My guests loved everything about it!

Linden Place is the perfect atmosphere for a cozy intimate wedding. The mansion as well as the carriage house are filled with character and the working fireplace just topped off the blistery winter wedding that was held there. Linden PLace is gorgeous.. no question. The flowers were in bloom and the space is just so pretty. However, the person I worked with the entire year of planning told me the day before the wedding that she was going on vacation and left two women in charge. These two women sad on the back porch were incredibly unwelcoming and did not help in any way. The house is so hot with no air circulation. I was told they would provide fans for the carriage house reception.. there was one fan going. Yes, we have gorgeous pictures but we were all very disappointed in the staff.

My wife and I were just married at Linden Place last weekend, and it was simply beautiful. We looked at a number of venues in Rhode Island, but we (and especially my wife) fell in love with Linden Place. The gardens and grounds where we held our ceremony are filled with whimsical statuary and magnificent flowers and trees. The mansion is charming and decorated with antique furniture. Linden Place, about a block away from the water, has a lot of historical significance as a one-time home to the wealthy Colt family (of Colt revolver fame); many presidents and luminaries have stayed there, as you will read in the mansion museum. We loved that Linden Place was elegant and sophisticated, but did not feel stuffy or pretentious or ostentatious the way some other venues in Newport and Bristol felt to us. Maybe you're more into that kind of thing, but we loved that Linden Place was full of personality and charm as well as elegance and sophistication. In all, we had a truly wonderful experience having our wedding at Linden Place, and we would recommend it without reservation to anyone considering it. The event coordinator Susan is an absolute pleasure to work with, and Bristol is a very attractive Rhode Island seaside town; your out-of-town guests will fall in love with it immediately.

I felt so bad for my friend. Luckily the place is beautiful and she got perfect weather... No one was there for the rehearsal. No chairs were set up for the ceremony like they were supposed to be.... The two people working sat on the back porch and didn't greet anyone or help with anything. They actually handed ME trash at one point.... I still can't believe it. The wedding photos are gorgeous and everyone ELSE involved in the wedding was great... except Linden Place. I was really surprised that the person who had worked with the bride for the 8 months prior to the wedding was not there- just two hostesses who had no idea what was going on. It just seemed like they didn't care at all.

Susan was amazing throughout the whole process and even let us go there and look at other weddings be set up so we could get a good idea as so what we wanted for our own wedding. She also let us go there with the videographer for an engagement shoot. She was always so quick to answer our questions too. The grounds there were so beautiful even though there was a major art show the week before. Our pictures came out so amazing too; I could have taken pictures there for hours :-)

I was married in August at Linden Place and it was truly a perfect wedding. Susan was amazing throughout the whole process and even let us go there and look at other weddings be set up so we could get a good idea as so what we wanted for our own wedding. She also let us go there with the videographer for an engagement shoot. She was always so quick to answer our questions too. The grounds there were so beautiful even though there was a major art show the week before. Our pictures came out so amazing too; I could have taken pictures there for hours :-)

Linden Place is a beautiful venue and has a ton of great photo ops on the premises. They were very accommodating when I needed to get into the bridal room earlier to drop off my dress (due to the pending rain). Susan was great over email and answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is because after we had booked Linden Place, we received an email and letter stating a new policy about using the tented courtyard. All along we had envisioned the band and dance floor out there and all of tables fitting very comfortably inside the carriage house. This letter stated that the band could not be in that space--it wasn't specific in the reason (and as far as I knew then there was not noise ordinance before 10pm in Bristol) so needless to say I was frustrated. Once I received this letter, I was in tears. I wished that they had grandfathered in all of the people who had booked the venue before this policy so we could have used the space as originally planned. Although it rained and we couldn't utilize the gardens, the carriage house ceremony was cozy and my day was beautiful overall.

We wanted an outdoor wedding with a reception in a building (not a tent!), somewhere in Rhode Island near the water in a location that our out-of-town guests could enjoy themselves; we also wanted a full service place (I didn't want to have to order toilets, chairs, tables, etc) and it had to be reasonably priced - we found this unique combination at Linden Place! The staff was wonderful to work with - so knowledgeable and accommodating. The mansion, garden, and ballroom are beautiful but not over the top. Our guests were thrilled with Linden Place, they commented on the elegance and great location within downtown Bristol. If we had to do it all over again, I would definitely select Linden Place! The house and grounds will always be special to us.

With the fire lit, the carriage doors open and the lanterns lit, it was warm, cozy and completely elegant. The staff at Linden Place was incredibly helpful and was always quick to answer any questions we had. I would recommend Linden Place without reservations.

I just read the other two recent reviews and I have to say I'm surprised. I was married at Linden Place in October and have nothing but glowing things to say about the Event Coordinator Susan-- she's friendly, responsive, and professional. She always answered our questions promtly, and everything was well-organized the day of our wedding. I only met Jim once, but I thought he was professional and warm, and the hosts we had seemed just fine (although I had very little interaction with them.) The one disappointment we had was that the floor of the ballroom (as another review noted) did look dirty, particularly near the entrance to the sliding barn doors, but Susan told us that the floor had indeed been washed and that some dirt just gets tracked in during the course of set-up (tables, chairs, flowers, etc.) I'm not sure if I believe this after reading the other reviews, but it's possible... my doubts about this are the reason I'm giving Linden Place four stars instead of five for service. Other than that, the space was just lovely-- beautiful cream brick walls, working fireplace (which was so cozy on our blustery fall day) and exposed wood beams. It was perfect for the simple-yet-elegant wedding we envisioned. For our part, we have no regrets at all!

Linden Place was a really great place to have a wedding- the location in Bristol, the grounds, everything looks great in photographs and our other vendors were really helpful but the hostesses were horrible and the week before the wedding everything just became really disorganized. Both- not just one but both coordinators went away on vacation leaving us with 2 hostesses who didn't know anything about the wedding which just created a lot of problems. I would say that this would be a great place if they hired all new staff. If I could do it over again, I would still have it there though- really beautiful.

There is no doubt that I had a BEAUTIFUL day and I was glowing with happiness but I have to say that I was so very disapointed with the lack of communication and attitude of the L.P. staff on the day of the wedding. \r I felt that there were promises made and things left out after we had paid and on the wedding day when you really can't do anything but go with the flow. \r1. Filthy bathrooms\r2. Filthy ceremony chairs (my caterer wasted an hour wiping them down)\r3. Neither Sue or Jim was there with their \"coordinating\" services as written in the contract even though every time I visited or had a walk through, Susan was there for the other weddings.\r4. No table for gifts/wedding platter. Susan specifically made a note at our FINAL walk through and said that there would be a table set up. On the wedding day, the staff had no clue what we were talking about and refused to help or find the table. My florist had to use tables from the house and move them herself even though she is pregnant.\r5. Hostesses- didn't really do much besides sit on the back porth. In the contract it says that the hostesses are there to \"share the history\" etc. but they were pretty rude and not helpful.\r6. Staff- At our final walk through Susan told us where the grills would be (we had BBQ stations). The day of the wedding, two women I had never met before INSISTED the grill had to go in a far off parking lot near a playground.... There was 4' of space between the grill and the building as written in the contract AND this was already discussed, so again, another unnecessary issue on the wedding day.\r6. Ballroom Floors- were dirty. Susan assured us that Linden Place cleans and polishes the ballroom floor before events but I can tell you... these floors were not clean at all.\r6. Jim- I met Jim at our first meeting at Linden Place and didn't have too much contact with him besides signing contracts. A couple of days after the wedding, my mom called wondering if there was anything we had to do to get the security deposit of $7oo back. Jim thought it was ME on the phone and said \"Your mother is APPALING\" and went on and on about how Barrington people are so stingy and expect a Newport wedding for a Bristol price.... So, he wasn't even talking to me, I don't live in Barrington, AND my mother was nothing but wonderful and nice despite the fact that she was cleaning bathrooms on my wedding day. What kind of management is this?\r Now for the good- Linden Place is BEAUTIFUL. We have the most unbelieveable pictures I could ever have imagined. I have wonderful family and friends and it was one of the greatest days of my life. \rIt is unfortunate that the day was dampered wtih these issues- we thought we had asked all of the right questions and confirmed everything during our walk throughs but unfortunately there is a lack of communication among the staff and the hostesses are just really rude... I am not sure why they work there at all.\rI highly recommend discussing every issue before you make a decusion and leave a deposit but do keep in mind that there really is no comparrison to the beauty there!\rI also recomend that the board of directors seriously investigates the management there and maybe considers hiring more friendly and organized staff....
