Situated in the heart of downtown Baltimore, the Lord Baltimore Hotel is an architectural gem and the ideal venue for elegant weddings. The hotel’s palatial ballrooms and storybook halls make you feel as though you have fallen into a historical novel. This location is premier in both location and design.
Architect William Lee Stoddart designed and guided the construction of the Lord Baltimore Hotel. Using the French Renaissance as inspiration, the hotel was crafted with a nod towards Enlightenment-era splendor. Now, this grand building is part of the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Hotels of America, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In 2013 it was acquired by Rubell Hotels and underwent a multi-million dollar renovation. Their commitment to preserving and re-imagining this hotel is a part of Rubell Hotels's dedication to maintaining the cultural integrity of the cities they operate in.
With the genius of former Ralph Lauren designer Scott Sanders, this hotel boasts fine tastes and abundant contemporary comforts. Colonial-style columns and arches decorate the lobbies and conference rooms. The molding is intricate and ornate but washed in a subdued color palette to avoid looking too florid. The Calvert Ballroom has gorgeous Baccarat crystal chandeliers and tall ceilings with bright grand windows. Throughout the hotel, French-style design elements embellish the walls and furnishings for a European and historical flavor. The hotel also has a skybar, bakery, and tavern for tasty beverages, fresh treats, and fine dining.
The grandeur of the Lord Baltimore Hotel does not stop merely in its physical appearance. With 440 rooms, 23 stories, and over 20,000 square feet of event space, this location is ideal for both intimate parties and grand affairs. The largest event number they can accommodate is 850. Their wedding planners will help make every aspect of your wedding come to life.In house, full-service catering with customization to aid in getting the right cuisine for the evening. The hotel’s experienced staff can even guide you on the decorations, floral arrangements, and musical entertainment. As a hotel, overnight accommodation is also available for out of town guests.
Emily Brown(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-11-2019 I loved having my wedding at the Lord Baltimore in November 2019. The Grand Calvert Ballroom was absolutely gorgeous with tall ceilings, chandeliers, and very comfortably held our 220 guests for the ceremony and reception. The room was set up exactly as I had envisioned it and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Cindy was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She was easy to stay in touch with throughout the year as questions came up and we finalized wedding plans. We had brunch the following morning in the Versailles room which was a great space to hang out and have great brunch. The hotel bar downstairs had great food for an after party once the reception was over. Guest hotel rooms were modern, clean and very reasonably priced, all of our out of town guests stayed at the hotel which was really convenient. I would highly recommend this wedding space to couples looking for an elegant venue for their wedding. Reviewed on 30-03-2021
Kate Harter(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2021 Both of the main ballrooms are absolutely gorgeous— for ceremony and/or reception. We also loved the vintage feel in so many parts of the lobby. Cindy was incredibly easy to work with. We ended up postponing our wedding because of the pandemic, but the process while working with Cindy was what anyone could hope for when planning a wedding. Reviewed on 28-10-2020

rebkha atnafou(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2019 Our wedding at Lord Baltimore was truly memorable! Lord Baltimore is a beautiful venue for all aspects of a wedding experience. Colorful and beautiful Versailles Room provides an elegant and picturesque setting for a wedding vow ceremony. The balcony is an enclosed, open wrap around space for cocktail hour. The ballroom is majestic with high ceilings, chandeliers and historical architectural design that requires very little additional decoration to transform the place for a wedding. Our food was delicious, the staff was attentive and Cindy, the events manager, was always calm, assuring, highly experienced, detail oriented and totally awesome. Our only wish was a finer sleeping accommodation for the wedding party--our room (\"suite\") was nothing more that a very plain room. Thank you so much, Lord Baltimore. Kristin Zywusko(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-12-2015 The Lord Baltimore is the perfect historically modern hotel to get married in. The newly renovated spaces with a modern color scheme amongst intricate ceilings and beautiful gold trimmings were amazing. The Grand Calvert Ballroom can hold over 400 people but with my 120 person wedding we were able to close the side rooms and create a spacious but intimate feel. I was a little nervous about having to flip the ballroom from the ceremony set up to the reception set up but it was done without a hitch in ample time. The hotel rooms were spacious and clean, they kept with the modern color scheme which was very nice. My room in particular which I believe was north facing was a bit dark but we brought an extra lamp from another room and managed just fine. The manager Lee was a pleasure to work with and when we had a mix up with the parking situation he was quick to investigate it. Kelly in reservations was also very nice to work with, when my guests had issues booking their rooms she was more than happy to speak with them personally to get their room booked. I will say the hotel’s online booking is a bit confusing and when you call their phone number it goes to an outside booking service that is not on the property. The valet and front desk staff was friendly and very accommodating. My husband and I were able to load some of our items into the ballroom the Thursday before the wedding and the security officers were very helpful in opening the loading dock area and allowing us to park without any hassle. Overall we had a great experience at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. Reviewed on 27-12-2015
I'm so excited that you are considering The Lord Baltimore. I have been in the wedding business for over 20 years and love seeing the changing trends every few years. It keeps me on my toes. I work with couples from the initial visit through to the night of the event. I love to see the smiles and tears of joy from my couple on their wedding day. The first dance gets me every time. When parents hug me at the end of the night I know the night was a success. I look forward to working with you and being a part of your wedding day.
