Lord Thompson Manor Specializes in the "Weekend Wedding" concept, whereby we host the Rehearsal Dinner and late night gathering on Friday. Followed by Saturday events that include; Spa treatments at our private Spa, Lawn Games, Ceremony, Wedding Reception, and After Party. To conclude the weekend wedding, a Farewell Breakfast or Brunch on Sunday, and this entire Weekend Wedding experience is all part of your unique and exclusive stay here. We are centrally located in Northeast Connecticut which is only 1 hour from Boston, Providence, and Hartford and approximately 3 1/2 hours from Manhattan. Lord Thompson Manor is particularly distinguished among wedding facilities. This establishments’ highly-trained professional staff, work around the clock in order to create a lasting three-day experience for the guest’s. From elaborate floral arrangements, to exquisite cakes, and candlelit décor, each element of the “Wedding Weekend” concept is uniquely tailored to the Bride’s & Groom’s particular needs. From beginning to end, Andrew, Jackie, Janice and Ted made our wedding a DREAM. My husband Kai and I always envisioned a \"weekend wedding\" after experiencing our friends' wedding abroad. After thinking we would never be able to have that same vibe, we stumbled upon LTM, and we are SO lucky we did.Lord Thompson is not only a gorgeous venue - surrounded by greenery and elegance - but the people that work there make the venue exquisite. As NYC foodies, Chef Mike made us feel like we were at an incredible Michelin starred restaurant the entire weekend (with the added and very important touch of also being made to feel at home by him and his team). Janice and Ted single handedly made the wedding weekend entirely stress-free - allowing us to relax and knowing very well they had it all together. The two seamlessly worked together the entire weekend allowing Kai and I to do what no bride and groom are ever allowed to do ... enjoy their ENTIRE wedding and EAT! From planning, hosting, and behind-the-scenes shenanigans that we later learned from friends, this team single handedly made our wedding not only be perfect, but go beyond our wildest imaginations.Andrew and Jackie have assembled a world-class team to make your wedding unforgettable, and there are not enough words to describe how special this venue is to us. In our opinion, LTM is the only place that combines beauty, exceptional cuisine, top-notch professionalism, and a genuine passion for what they do. Truly cannot say enough incredible things about this venue!!! Andrew, Jackie, Janice and Ted are a dream team. The small details they all pay attention to led to a smooth and seemingly effortless wedding weekend for us. When we visited other wedding venues, we had a laundry list of questions to ensure everything went the way we envisioned. When we first visited LTM, that mental list quickly disappeared as Andrew answered questions before we were even able to ask them. They took so much stress out of the planning process. Every time I had a question the team was more than willing to be available for a call to ensure we were all on the same page. Because of the attention to detail ahead of time, we truly were able to let go and enjoy every single moment once our wedding finally happened. From check in on Friday to the conclusion of breakfast on Sunday, we had smiles on our faces and happy tears in our eyes. Everything completely exceeded our expectations. It ended up raining the day of and the ease at which they set up everything to be inside so quickly is something we'll never forget. Andrew holds so much patience and professionalism while figuring out financial details through the very end. Jackie covers the florals and decor and she truly brought our vision to life and more. Even the decor at the rehearsal dinner was the perfect touch on top of everything else.Janice hosts at the Cottage House and goes above and beyond for the bride. She was such a calming presence in the midst of so much adrenaline, nervousness, and chaos. Ted brings so much magic to the weekend with his infectious energy as the host at the Manor. The food was absolutely incredible and Chef Mike is there to help every step of the way to ensure you're getting the best possible options for your guests. He is so organized and helpful and amazing at his art of food. We had multiple guests comment that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We felt like the most special people in the world during our wedding weekend at LTM and felt like nothing else mattered to them. It was truly the best experience of our lives!!

If you are considering Lord Thompson Manor but aren’t sure let me help you….BOOK THEM. Our wedding was last weekend and we are still getting text messages and phone calls from our guests absolutely RAVING about the experience. Jackie transformed the manor into my literal vision/Pinterest board. I was speechless and immediately began to cry when I walked into my ceremony space the day of. She is a genius !! Janice is a dream. She is literally on top of everything. When an eyelash started to fall off, she WENT TO A CVS AND BOUGHT EYELASH GLUE. Ted kept us on schedule and moved everyone through perfectly. Not to mention the food is not wedding food it is real amazing food !!!

I recently attended a wedding at the Lord Thompson Manor, and I cannot express how amazing it was! From the moment you set foot on the property, you were transported into a world of timeless elegance and classic charm.The manor itself is absolutely extraordinary. It truly is the perfect backdrop for any wedding. Whether it is an intimate affair or a grand event. The grounds surrounding the manor are nothing short of breathtaking, with picturesque views in every direction. The natural beauty of the manor added an extra layer of enchantment to the special day.The food was beyond delicious. There was not a single thing that I ate that I did not enjoy. The service added to the overall dining experience. The wait staff was attentive, professional, and friendly, ensuring that no glass went empty and no request was left unfulfilled. If you're looking for a wedding where the food is as unforgettable as the love being celebrated, you can trust that you're in for an exceptional dining experience.The room accommodations for the wedding were fantastic! My stay at the cottage was so comfortable. The rooms were so cozy and the thoughtful amenities made me feel at home all weekend. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge in between wedding festivities.Lastly, the staff at Lord Thompson Manor deserve a standing ovation! Andrew, Jackie, Ted, and Janice’s commitment to excellence is truly unmatched. Every detail, no matter how small, was handled with the utmost care and attention. One of the standout features of this magnificent venue is the staff's unwavering dedication to ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and at home. They went above and beyond to make the entire weekend a memorable experience for not just the bride and groom but for everyone who was there. Where do I begin? The whole LTM team made sure my entire wedding wknd was not only stress free, but also a perfect depiction of a vision I had in my head of what my wedding would be like. To say I am thankful for this is an understatement. We spend years dreaming of our wedding, imagining what it will look like, asking for things we aren't sure are achievable. I had about 1,000 of these details in my head, and LTM did NOT miss a single mark. It was unbelievable and I am quite literally in shock one month later. From the stunning decor, to the magnificent food- the wknd was one no one will never forget. From the moment we pulled up to the manor for our 1st tour appt with Andrew, I knew we had found the venue of our dreams. Furthermore after walking in the front door, you immediately pick up an energy that I had never felt anywhere else. It was warm, cozy, familiar, and it felt like home. I wanted everyone I knew to see this spectacular hidden gem of the earth we had found. Andrew was so thorough & concise and just knows everything there is to know about how to host the perfect wedding. Then the ever so talented Jackie, the photos of her work online had my jaw on the ground, I was so excited to finally meet her. Her extensive and impressive collection of dinnerware, decor, linens, and more can give anyone a beautiful event. The cottage, which is a space you can only dream you will be lucky enough to get ready in on your wedding day- is managed by Janice, I remember talking to her on my tour about everything to expect the wknd, how the morning of getting ready would go, and heard her devotion to making her brides happy. She brought me to tears that day already knowing we would become super close and feeling relieved to know I would have her by my side from day 1. Ted, is also fantastic- his smile lights up the room. He has the voice of an angel and a heart of gold. I could never imagine the wedding planning process to be so fun seeing what some of my friends had gone through. I would talk with the team all the time, we really built a lovely friendship throughout the process. Jackie and Janice were always VERY on top of my details and plans. Whatever advice or crazy requests I had they were there to help me figure out. Before I knew it, it was 1 year into the planning process and time for our tasting! They went above and beyond we had the best day seeing our table decor for the first time which was PERFECTION! It was an exact replica of all of the inspo photos I had shared before, so unique. The tasing was the first time we met Chef Mike, but we had been talking for weeks prior about a bunch of crazy requests I had for my wedding weekend- which you wont be surprised to read were ALL executed beyond perfection once again on the weekend. This consisted of a live hand piped cannoli and Napoleon bar, a live hot pasta chafing station, an Italian inspired interactive charcuterie table, a potato latke station, a NY bagel bar, and more!!! Mike and his team absolutely killed it and ALL of my guests said it was BY FAR the best event food they had ever had. Moving into decor and florals, I loved how the manor had different vibes depending which part of the property you were in, and I wanted to capture that mysterious excitement for my guests with how I decorated each space. My inspo for the rehearsal was Positano Romance, and Jackie literally transposed the Amalfi Coast into the outdoor area of the manor. MULTIPLE guests came up to us to tell us the felt like they were in Italy, it was spectacular, quite literally amazing. The side garden felt like a fairytale to me, my Inspo for this space was Alice in Wonderland, low and behold once again the mark was hit! In the dining rooms I wanted romance and elegance, guess what? CHECK! Candles everywhere, soft florals, you could feel the love no matter which dining room you walked into. The party turned up after dinner and we danced past 12am! Brunch sunday was the perfect send off and it was hard to leave, but it was see you later, not goodbye for me and this group! We will be back!!!

I was part of a bridal party at Lord Thompson Manor this past weekend and could not be happier with how everything went! First, all of the staff at LTM, especially Janice and Ted, were the best to work with - easygoing and professional from the start, and always made the bridesmaids and groomsman feel very welcomed and at ease! There are no details missed when it comes to making sure that your wedding weekend is perfection. Janice, or as I called her “The Mary Poppins of Weddings”, went above and beyond to make sure all the girls felt comfortable, prepared, and just relaxed throughout the entire weekend. She was always there to lend a helping hand, offer incredible suggestions, and just a calm and happy face. LTM makes everyone feel welcomed and special, making sure that the wedding weekend is memorable from start to finish. There was no detail that was missed - they even somehow had the perfect heel protectors for our heels when walking on the grass! The ambiance and food are 10/10 and all of the individuals providing service did so with a warm smile. It was a beautiful experience to have been part of a wedding at LTM and I definitely recommend this venue for other couples looking to have a beautiful and incredible wedding.

We knew our 6/17/23 wedding would be an incredibly special day, but we were not prepared for how truly romantic and magical Lord Thompson made this for us and our guests. When we think back to this day or watch our wedding video we become overly emotional and grateful to have held such an important part of our lives at Lord Thompson Manor. It’s a venue like no other. Let us start with the absolute impeccable service you receive from LTM. You are in such great care with Jackie, Andrew, Janice, Ted and Chef Mike. There are no details missed when it comes to making your dream weekend come to life, with ease and as little stress as possible for you. They are wedding experts!! From the day we chose LTM to the minute we walked out the door the Sunday after our wedding, we were catered to in every way imaginable. Andrew made it abundantly clear to us from day one, “if you want it we will make it happen for you” and he and his team delivered above and beyond. From financial decisions, to specialty cocktails, everything was more perfect than we could have asked. Jackie is a true visionary and it’s her #1 priority to ensure you have exactly what you dream for. Her genius took our ideas and photo inspiration and made it into a reality - from decorations to florals, she handled it all and curated the most magical atmosphere NOT ONCE but TWICE for both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding night. Janice became another mom for us this weekend and was there for us at every moment. She helped unload all of our things on drop off day, steamed ALL the bridesmaid dresses, organized dinner to be brought to the cottage house for our cousin who just had a baby, read a beautiful poem to all girls on the wedding day, even gave the bride a cold towel when not feeling well at dinner and SO MUCH MORE! She’s an angel of a human and we felt so lucky to have her. Our wedding would not have been as special if it weren’t for Ted, host of our wedding weekend. He carries such vibrant energy and brought so much love, thoughtfulness and care. Not only did he tend to our every ask without hesitation, he literally SERENADED us and our guests with his incredible singing as he poured champagne during dinner – magical doesn’t even come close to describing Ted throughout the weekend. The running joke was that he had to have had multiple twins because it was impossible for him to be doing so many things at once! Chef Mike spent hours on the phone with us working through every detail of foods we liked and disliked, brainstorming ideas but most importantly delivering on dish after dish that’s quality and taste were only surpassed by whatever dish followed behind it. Time and time again people tell us they haven’t had food so delicious EVER let alone as a part of a wedding. If the manor were a restaurant we are sure they would have 125 returning customers after the culinary experience we had the weekend of our wedding. Not only did we feel this way but our friends and family could not stop talking about every person on the LTM team. They made us feel so special we hugged them out the door on Sunday as if they were our own family. We would give anything to experience our wedding at LTM all over again and we’d love for other couples to have the same experience. From the bottom of our hearts, this was the most special weekend of our lives and it was all thanks to our lovely Lord Thompson Manor family. My husband and I had our wedding at the Lord Thompson Manor this past weekend, and our wedding was better than we could of ever imagined. The attention to detail that the whole staff at the manor provides is exceptional. The staff kept us on task and provided all the help we could need while wedding planning and preparing for our big weekend. Our weekend at the manor was nothing less than perfect. The staff does such a great job at making you feel welcome and taken care of. They know you by name, have the answers to all your questions before you can even ask them, and are there to keep you on track through the entire process. I knew I would love my wedding but I didn’t expect to truly enjoy my wedding day as much we did. As chaotic and overwhelming as a wedding may be, The Lord Thompson Manor staff made it enjoyable, as stress free as possible, and a weekend we and our guests will never forget!

Back in 2021, we came to view Lord Thompson Manor as our first wedding venue. Afterwards, we only went to one other venue, and decided that there were no more that we wanted to go see. Lord Thompson Manor was the one for us. We loved the uniqueness of Lord Thompson Manor, because we are not ballroom people! We are thrilled with our decision and wish we could relive the weekend over and over. Everything was absolutely perfect. Everyone within the Lord Thompson Manor staff was so accommodating and beyond caring and kind. The staff truly made us feel like we were family. It was so hard to leave on that Sunday! The attention to detail was immaculate and hasn't gone unnoticed. Many friends and family members have taken the time to reach out to us and our parents letting us know how Lord Thompson Manor was the most beautiful venue and how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Jackie will take your vision, and make it a reality. Ted and Janice will make you feel like family and will make sure that everyone is okay and has everything they need. Andrew will answer any and all questions you have, and takes the time to explain everything you need to know. What a spectacular venue! Thank you again so much to everyone at Lord Thompson Manor! Ryan and I will be forever grateful for the weekend of a lifetime we and our families experienced with all of you at our wedding celebration back on May 28th. After everything we experienced related to the pandemic, we will be endlessly appreciative of you all for helping us to live out the wedding we have been dreaming of since first meeting you in 2018. Jackie, thank you for helping us to create the most beautiful atmosphere related to design. The manor exuded elegance and grace while providing comfort and warmth to our closest family and friends. Your team is unbeatable!Andrew, we will never forget your compassion in marrying us at the very start of COVID and allowing our families to join as one and experience joy in a time where we struggled to find it elsewhere. While we’re sure it brought some stress, we will never forget the two of you providing that space for love (both physically and by officiating, hehe!) You two have created a remarkable family of staff who were clearly so dedicated to providing a joyful environment. Not only were we blown away by the thoughtfulness of Ted and Janice, but by the attention to detail and genuine enjoyment of your entire staff in providing an unforgettable space in time for Ryan and me as well as our guests. Even now, one year out from the big day, our guests (and most importantly our immediate families) have endless compliments as they rave about the weekend. Several guests (and even Facebook friends!) have said it is the best wedding they have ever attended or seen. At least one recently engaged couple is looking into hosting their wedding with you! Thank you for providing fulfillment of our dream as we celebrated something we are endlessly grateful for, our love for each other. Chef Mike and team are unrivaled; one of the many reasons we chose the manor was for their culinary team and we were NOT disappointed! The food was delicious and was the talk of the wedding. Huge shout outs to Janice and Ted and their teams; Janice made me feel like the only bride in the world. I was extremely touched by her heartfelt kindness and interest in making every moment unforgettable. When my dress needed to be bustled or my after party dress straps broke, she was RIGHT there to help. Her touching words of love just before the ceremony amongst all of the woman I hold most dear were remarkable and not a single dry eye was left. Ted was the host of the century; he ensured everything went on without a hitch, even when rained threatened, his team (very graciously) placed chairs outside when I \"asked\" to try to have an outdoor ceremony. Even when it downpoured moments later (5 minutes before the ceremony), they were kind and I so appreciate that they did everything in their power to help during that moment. We still had an unforgettable ceremony in the conservatory and got to experience our toasts in the front of the manor when the rain stopped. It made for incredible photos!Each touch of our entire wedding experience (between a mini wedding in 2020 and the wedding celebration of our dreams in 2022) were unforgettable. We joke often that we would like to have the wedding again \"next year\"! If you are looking for a stunning venue with Newport vibes closer to Boston/Worcester, with staff who are thoughtful, kind, friendly, and interested in fulfilling your every dream, choose Lord Thompson Manor!

I recently got married at the Lord Thompson Manor on 5/20/23, and I must say that the entire weekend was an absolute dream come true. From the moment I first came across LTM online, I knew that it was the perfect venue for my wedding. The level of organization and dedication displayed by Andrew, Jackie, Ted, and Janice truly exceeded all my expectations.Jackie's attention to detail and design is simply amazing. She took my ideas and turned them into a reality, making my table and flower dreams come true. Her creative touch added an extra layer of magic to the entire event. Ted and Janice, on the other hand, were absolute saints. They anticipated our needs before we even realized them ourselves. Their proactive approach and willingness to go above and beyond made everything run smoothly and effortlessly.I would also like to express my gratitude to Angie from the cottage house. She was incredibly helpful and sweet, and all the guests at the cottage house had nothing but praise for her. The level of care and service she provided was exceptional, and it truly added to the overall experience.Now let's talk about the food. The culinary experience at Lord Thompson Manor was nothing short of amazing. Chef Mike is a true master of his craft. He took the time to speak with us personally, ensuring that all our preferences and dietary restrictions were taken into account. The menu was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The staff was incredibly accommodating to guests with allergies, going the extra mile to provide safe and satisfying options for everyone.From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Our wedding at Lord Thompson Manor was an absolute dream and I can only hope that other couples run to book with this fantastic team. As busy professionals, my husband and I were daunted by the prospect of planning our big wedding celebration around our busy schedules, but the team at Lord Thompson made those fears melt away. From our first meeting with Andrew, it was clear that this venue was unique (an English style manor in a quiet corner of Connecticut that oozed elegance and class), accessible (a good middle ground for travel for friends and family coming from different states and countries), and had built in planning and coordination, florals, food and alcohol, and accommodations to make the weekend run seamlessly. The team at the Manor will proudly tell you that all they do is weddings, and it shows! Compared to some of the other venues we looked at, we loved that the Manor and Cottage House was all ours for the whole weekend and that we, and our guests, would have undivided, personalized attention. No rushing between venues or working around other weddings. Just time to celebrate with friends and family. We left the meeting knowing that our wedding would be a great party and we were excited to book with them. From my first meeting with Jackie (the co-owner and planner/coordinator/florist/jack of all trades) I was impressed by her attention to detail and professionalism, and as the weeks and months went by I was blown away by how she turned my haphazard vision into a clear and beautiful reality as if she had read my mind! She also incorporated our backgrounds into the wedding weekend to give it that extra personal touch. I took lots of comfort in being able to call Jackie or Janice and going over the wedding weekend schedule, plans, and forms at least 10 times. They indulged my questions and stresses with such care and warmth. Leading up to the big day, the venue hosts a 'tasting' where you (and 4 friends/family) can see your table settings/decor, taste your food, and see the venue as it would be on your wedding weekend. You get a chance to see the colors and themes other couples have chosen, too, if you're looking for additional inspiration! The tasting experience made it so easy to touch base with Jackie and Janice about the flowers and arrangements, with Chef Mike about the food (which was mouth watering), Andrew about financials, and other preferred vendors, including the transportation team, Bonardi's formalwear, and the team at the Kiss Spa. Lord Thompson has created a great community to support the couples who chose to celebrate there and leverage that to ensure a smooth and amazing experience. They also coordinated with our outside vendors very nicely! Our wedding weekend itself could not have gone any smoother. Our wedding attendants, Janice and Ted, were by our sides the whole weekend and made sure our families and wedding parties settled into their accommodations and had everything they needed (and I mean everything!). The wedding rehearsal was meticulously planned and the rehearsal dinner and welcome gathering at the venue went off without a hitch. The wedding day itself was a beautiful, sun-soaked day at this gorgeous venue, filled with love and laughter, and according to our guests, some of the best food they've ever had (seriously, the food all weekend was AMAZING)! I cannot thank the team enough for making the Manor feel like home for the weekend and for taking such good care of us. We are forever grateful!

We simply cannot say enough positive things about LTM. Jackie, Andrew, Ted and Janice are the best of the best. We felt it from the first time we toured the venue, and with the benefit of hindsight, we are so glad we chose the manor. They've seen it all, and know how to handle every situation and surprise. They care, they put your mind at ease, and they do it for an extremely competitive price. It was great to be able to live in every moment of our magical weekend knowing they had the details covered.

From our arrival on Friday to our departure on Sunday, every detail was perfect! We feel so lucky to have chosen Lord Thompson Manor from the beginning, and the pandemic dilemma was handled with such grace! Our guests will remember our wedding because we got married but mostly because they finally felt some peace and joy during 2020 which is all thanks to you! If I could give LTM 10 stars, I would. It's difficult for me to categorize LTM as a “venue” because it truly is an overall experience. They have perfected the wedding weekend idea. It was so fun/convenient to have our closest family and friends hang out at a single location for the whole weekend (from Rehearsal Dinner to Sunday Breakfast). Huge plus - the Cottage House has an onsite spa where all of the bridesmaids get ready; no need to worry about transporting people early in the morning for hair/makeup. Aesthetically, the Manor is STUNNING, elegant, yet has such a cozy and warm feel from the dark wood-paneled walls and the fireplaces. The ceremony and outdoor spaces are beautifully landscaped and covered in cabanas, lounge furniture, fire pits, and yard games. The Cottage House is so well-decorated in a neutral palette; perfect for getting ready photos. But aside from the location itself, the true magic is the team that runs the operation. I was an out-of-state bride and the LTM team made the planning process so simple and easy and the wedding day went by seamlessly. Everyone that works there (the owners, the coordinators, the waitstaff, the bartenders, etc.) is accommodating, attentive and they take the utmost care of their couples and families from the initial meeting to check-out on Sunday. They treated us like family and made the Manor feel like our home for the weekend, which is truly unique from a standard wedding venue. The staff goes above and beyond on EVERY DETAIL and they are proactive to help…e.g., Janice printed a last minute menu customization for one of our guests; My MOH’s dress strap broke as we were heading to the ceremony, and within a matter of seconds, Janice sewed it back on; Jackie went above and beyond and helped one of the bridesmaids get to the airport (because her ride had fallen through) the day we were all checking out…the list goes on. Know that if you book LTM, nothing will go wrong…seriously. They are wedding experts, they have seen it all and they know their venue inside and out. I truly believe that there isn’t a problem that could not be fixed on the fly. Andrew makes the planning process easy and clear to understand. If you like whiskey, add the whiskey tasting bar! Andrew hosts it and it was the most professional whiskey tasting set-up I have ever seen. A huge hit with our guests!Jackie has such a creative eye. She put together the most stunning florals and decor and provided so much guidance during planning process. I knew I could trust her to bring my vision to life.Janice and Ted are masters at the weekend coordination and are just the most kind, caring people that you would want to have by your side on your wedding day. As a bride, I felt so secure knowing that Janice and Ted would tell us where we needed to be and when; everything was on schedule.Chef Mike’s food is hands-down incredible and he serves plenty of amazing options that our guests loved. All of the weekend meals were so memorable. Chef Mike was extremely easy to work with on any customizations we requested and takes food allergies/dietary restrictions very seriously. Regarding the bar/drink options - amazing. If you love espresso martinis, you will love LTM’s bartenders :)  If you are considering LTM, take a tour; you will not be disappointed. Pictures do not do it justice and you have to meet the team to really understand what makes this place so special. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer.

There aren't enough words to express how amazing Lord Thompson Manor is. We were married on April 23, 2022 and the day couldn't have been more perfect. Ted, Jackie, Janice and Andrew went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day went flawlessly. After a few conversations and a number of inspiration photos, the team made my wedding vision come to life and it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Chef Mike put together the most unbelievably delicious food lineup that everyone still raves about! Everyone made us feel welcomed and as if we were part of their family, the entire weekend. If anything didn't go as planned, I had no idea because the LTM team ensured the day went smoothly. Lord Thompson Manor made one of the most important days of our lives, the most memorable and I cannot thank and recommend them enough!

My husband and I were married here on April 2nd and Andrew, Jackie, Janice, and Ted went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect weekend. They are so dedicated and passionate about what they do and ensuring that each couple has their best wedding possible. The food is incredible, the venue is gorgeous, and they've sold every possible problem you could ever think of so they can help with anything that may come up over the weekend. Jackie even managed to save the day after I had red wine spilled on my dress! If you're considering getting married at Lord Thompson Manor you will not be disappointed.

Lord Thompson Manor exceeded our expectations and more. The setting is gorgeous, the food is delicious, the wedding weekend experience is fantastic, but it’s the service (from planning to sunday brunch) that really sets LTM apart. With limited guidance (pinterest link, a few calls, one tasting), Andrew/Jackie/Ted/Janice created an impeccable wedding experience for me, my husband and my guests. As busy working professionals, without a wedding planner, there is no way we could have created such a special weekend. Ted bustled my dress, and was my 80-year old grandfathers guide as he walked down the stairs. Jackie added scented geraniums to my bouquet to relieve stress. Andrew was always available and thinking of unique ways to solve our every ask (we pulled a vintage VW photo booth bus on the lawn). And Janice - she does it all with a smile on her face. My friends still ask about her! If you are not convinced yet consider: 1) venue can host 200 people until 2 am2) affiliated inns designated for family and friends 3) hotels nearby that are affordable4) custom menu, 5 star quality5) late night vibe - cabana, fire pits, outdoor bars, cornhole/bags where everyone can find their own happiness6) whatever drinks the guests want (espresso martinis) On your wedding, you want to be surrounded by genuine, loving people. That is how I’d describe the team at Lord Thompson Manor.

We had the absolute best wedding at LTM! We couldn’t have had a better day. Jackie, Andrew, Ted, and Janice anticipated things we didn’t even know we would need and we were able to completely relax and enjoy the weekend. Jackie’s design and florals are beyond anything I could have hoped for. Their entire staff and suggested third party vendors are so thoughtful and prepared. I can’t put into words how grateful we are to have had our wedding here. We wish we could go back and do it all again!

The staff are a well-oiled machine that ensures every cue is not just met, but performed with charm, professionalism, and most importantly, a personal touch. We cant say ENOUGH amazing & most magical things- the people, process, expertise & their passion for what they do to implement the most magical experience. Their heart in getting to know all of us throughout the process was so touching. Their vision & confidence shine on how to make a truly breathtaking experience every minute of your weekend! The words “Thank you” don’t even hold weight to the gratitude, appreciation, & overall indebtedness we have-Andrew, Jackie, Ted, Janice, Chef Mike & everyone there made our wedding the wedding of the century. They exceeded all expectations with every detail & step along the way. They were patient with ALL questions & took the time to make sure we felt seen, heard & comforted. The organization in place for us to reference & complete helped make everything go so smoothly. LTM has everything & all vendors you ever need when planning a wedding! Your vision and unique details shine & they do whatever it takes to make it happen. They took pride in creating our vision! We feel SO incredibly lucky to be a LTM B&G. We've heard from every guest that it was the most beautiful venue & wedding they had ever been to. It was the best weekend & day of our lives. Jackie & Ted, who were there supporting us every step along the way onsite, were truly spectacular, as well. Ted, made every moment so homey with his beautiful voice & making us feel like the most special people. Janice has such a huge heart & made sure us girls were all taken care of above & beyond, as well. Janice was by my side the entire weekend & we bonded so quickly as if we’d known each other forever. She read us the most beautiful love poem before I walked down the aisle, it was a moment none of us will ever forget. Chef Mike is incredible & LTM's dinner style’s so different (& DELIC), every wedding should do this. Cocktail hour was overflowing-there were SO many options; he takes special diets/allergies so seriously, too. LTM is so unique/different in every way & sets you a part from all other weddings. We cant wait to go back & visit one of our favorite places. Our journey from start to finish was true perfection & we cant say ENOUGH amazing things. When you arrive on site, you just ENJOY yourself because they are there for you always. Everything was 100% worth it. We smile at all the most amazing memories, photos & laughs we had; it was ALL LTM. LTM does it the BEST of any other wedding venue around & we say that with our whole hearts. Your vision will come to life BETTER than you have ever dreamt it. LTM is truly the best of the best-RUN don’t walk to get married here!

My daughter had her wedding at Lord Thompson Manor in September. I can honestly say it was a magical experience. The staff, food, atmosphere , venue are superior! The staff goes out if their way to make your experience perfect . The food is cooked on site and is superb, the manor itself is classy and the landscaping is one of a kind. Janice , Jackie , Ted and Andrew we can’t thank you enough. The cottage house was perfect for the wedding party and the weekend was one we’ll never forget. I give Lord Thomson Manor 10 plus all around. All of our guests raved about their experience as well.

Having our wedding day at the Lord Thomson Manor was hands down the best decision we’ve ever made! As a COVID couple, the Manor was extremely flexible with the ever changing guidelines and communicated with us on a weekly basis, which as an anxious bride, was crucial! Andrew was always willing to talk us through our thoughts and concerns and worked hard alongside us to find solutions. We ended up needing to postpone a year and the manor made that transition seamless. In regards to planning our event, no stone was left unturned. Jackie is incredible!! She has such an eye for detail and helped bring the vision I had to life! From the subtle decor that made our day feel so intimate to the floral arrangements, we were amazed with how everything came together! As for the weekend of, Janice and Ted were the absolute best hosts! They made sure that we, along with our guests, had everything we needed! The cottage house was my oasis and my bridesmaids agree! Ross felt the same was about the Manor, it was the perfect location to hang with his friends (lots of cornhole and wiffle ball) before we tied the knot. We truly feel that everyone at the manor became part of our family and added such special touches to our day! My husband and I are still getting compliments on how our wedding was “the best they’ve ever been to!” and that the food was absolutely amazing! (Thanks, Chef Mike!) We wish we could relive this weekend over and over again!! Have no doubt that if you get married at the Lord Thompson Manor, you will truly have your BEST day ever!

Our wedding at Lord Thompson Manor was absolutely the most magical experience – not just for us as the bride and groom, but for all of our guests too. I knew when I stumbled upon the venue online, I had found something special. The photos on their website are gorgeous but the Manor blew me away in real life. We were impressed with the reviews we read before we visited LTM onsite. The physical appearance of the architecture of the Manor and the grounds are all so wonderful, beautiful and elegant - but that’s just the foundation and starting point. The real magic is in the LTM staff. The attention to detail, and the professionalism of every single staff member. From Jackie with her amazing style and impeccable expertise with décor and flowers, to working with Andrew on wine selections, to Ted and Janice making sure EVERY detail at the Manor and Cottage House is taken care of, to Chef Mike and his flexibility in adjusting the menu for guests with dietary restrictions. The food is exceptional. The whole team truly went above and beyond, so attentive and focused on making sure you and your guests are having the absolute best experience. By the end of the weekend you will feel like they are your family. Also, the vendors they work with are top notch. I can’t say enough about Priscilla at KISS Spa, DJ Greg Plowman, photographer Carla Ten Eyck, officiant Jason Longo and shuttle service Ben Brooks. It is all so well-orchestrated and they all work well as a team. I’ve never seen anything like it. LTM surpassed our expectations. They take pride and it shows. My advice to any couple looking for a wedding venue if you get the chance to have your wedding at LTM jump at it!! It’s truly a gift to get to have your wedding there, and what is sure to be the best day and weekend of your life, with a unique memorable experience that you and your guests will remember for the rest of your lives. It was worth every penny…LTM delivered exceptional value and quality. Words can’t express the gratitude and joy we felt and continue to feel about our wedding experience. We continue to hear from guests that it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to, and it was magical….a real fairytale. And that’s exactly what I dreamt of….thank you LTM for helping make my dreams to come true, and having such a big impact on the most special day of our lives.

Our daughter was married this past wkd at LTM. Of course any mother will think their daughters wedding was the most beautiful ever but... LTM made absolutely certain my daughters wedding would actually be the most beautiful ever. The Manor itself is stunning and elegant. The details are everywhere. There is not a corner that hasn't had attention paid to it.The most surprising thing was the level of attention paid to the planning and the execution. They run a wedding like a finely oiled machine yet you feel like you are planning the only wedding they've ever had.The weekend was spectacular on every level. They guided us through every moment as if we were guests at the event. There is so much to be said about being told where to stand and when to do something during an enormous life moment.I can not recommend LTM enough. We are not simple people or easy to please. I can guaranty you will not be left wanting for anything.The owners are present, involved and on the premises. The staff is exceptional.

As I come down from the high of my daughter’s most perfect wedding this past weekend, I had to share our experience with Lord Thompson Manor. I hesitate to even refer to LTM as a “venue” because the mansion, The Cottage and the Watson Inn truly become your home for the weekend.As if 2020 hadn’t dealt us enough already, the 2 days before the wedding brought a few more major curveballs. As last minute changes seemed devastating at the time, with each new obstacle Jackie and Janice became the surrogate moms to my daughter – a shoulder to cry on, bringing her dinner and making sure she ate, homemade cookies…again, this is before the wedding weekend even began! Janice and Jackie – I know you will forever hold a very special place in my daughter’s heart.Ted - some sort of wedding/host/jack of all trades superpower…I saw him shoveling snow, stoking the fires, meticulously serving the wedding dinner to my family, and I’m sure a million other things I didn’t see as he tended to the groom and groomsmen at the Manor all weekend.Chef Mike – the food was amazing. From the barbecue themed rehearsal dinner and its desserts to the wedding dinner, the passed hor d’oeuvres, the Sunday brunch. “Throwing together” some lunch for family just arriving on Friday and getting ready with the girls at The Cottage, where every time I turned around someone was offering me coffee, tea, fruit, veggies.Jackie -my girlfriend is a florist and in all the weddings and events she’s done over the years, she couldn’t believe how gorgeous the flowers and how creative their arrangements were. Kelly – a special thank you for zooming to the important people who couldn’t join us. The attention to detail and the level of customer service at LTM went above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. With owners and a staff that become as invested in your wedding as you are, this is not your typical 5 hour reception with a “wedding coordinator”. This is a weekend event, an experience your guests will talk about for a long time and a group of people that turned every vision of the bride and groom into a reality.

Five stars just do not do Lord Thompson Manor justice. My family and I attended my niece's wedding there last December and it was magnificent from beginning to end. It began for me with the rehearsal dinner. Because they were going to Italy on their honeymoon, the room in which our family dined was transformed into what appeared to be a Tuscan villa. Indescribable!!! I have always wanted to go to Tuscany and on 12/13/19, I felt like I was brought there, minus the long plane ride, of course. The aesthetics....perfect, the food....delicious, and the evening itself....sheer perfection. After experiencing this first evening, my family and I could not wait to see what the wedding day would bring. How could this be outdone, we wondered. Well, we were certainly not disappointed. Jackie and her elves made this Christmas wedding an event to be remembered. From the delicious breakfast at the Cottage the wedding morning (for those of us lucky enough to be staying there), to a delightful lunch we partook in before hair and makeup kicked into high gear. Yum! Then there was the church. My niece walked down the aisle at a venue befitting Princess Kate or Meghan. It was simply spectacular! Again, Jackie outdid herself with the decorations. Warm, festive and rich perfection. There was not a missed detail throughout the church, yet the bride and groom told me they did not even provide the LTM staff with specifics of what they wanted. They said they basically told them about their vision for the ambience they were trying to create and Jackie just made it come to fruition. Such talent and soooo great to work with too. Finally, came the reception. Again, LTM did not disappoint. The manor itself was so beautifully and elegantly decorated. Driving up to the manor, one might wonder if it would feel stuffy, as it appears so grand, but that misconception could not be further from the truth. The soft lighting, the beautiful holiday decorations; all so warm and inviting. It was simply magical! As for the food, it was a never-ending array of the most delicious appetizers I've ever had. I don't even eat seafood and loved the crab cakes. Who knew?! The dinner itself was just as delicious. Epicurious Magazine and food critics worldwide would have been impressed. Extraordinary!All in all, I cannot say enough about Lord Thompson Manor. From beginning to end, it was simply spectacular. I am the mother of a teenage daughter who was in the bridal party for my niece's wedding. Not only do I hope she is blessed enough to find the kind of guy my niece married, but I hope we are lucky enough to be able to work with someone who can make all her dreams come true on her special day, as Jackie did. Jackie and Andrew, all I can say is wow!

Absolutely fantastic. I attended my nieces wedding at LTM in December of 2019 and was extremely impressed from start to finish! The staff went above and beyond to make the weekend stress free for my niece and family!! The food was extraordinary, the venue beautifully decorated. The staff and service at the reception was top notch.\"Orchids\" to Jackie and her helpers for creating such stunning floral decorations for the ceremony and reception!!I would highly recommend this venue for your dream wedding

Ok so, reviews are a formal assessment of something using the most descriptive words you can think of to express your experience with a place, product, or person. Therefore, I truly don’t know how to write this review of Lord Thompson Manor because the venue, the staff, and ambiance left me and my entire family SPEECHLESS. I am going to just say everything I can think of that will fit into this little review box. The only word I can think of to describe our entire wedding planning process as well as the wedding weekend is PERFECT. Let me tell you LTM could have a space in the dictionary under “wedding geniuses.” Choosing this venue was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. The second we set foot in this venue for our tour we instantly felt at home. We knew right away that LTM was our venue. Not only because it is beautiful but we felt the most amazing vibe from Andrew and the rest of the staff. They know what type of place they run and they couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. Andrew was so understanding during the Covid shut down taking every one of our calls (and there were a lot) when things got stressful during this year. Every time we spoke to Andrew we instantly felt at ease and knew LTM was going to do everything in their power to make your wedding day the best it could be in any way, shape, or form you were allowed to and ensuring the safety of our guests. We had a check in call every couple of weeks. We are from MA so Andrew wanted to fill us in on any CT updates as much as he could. The amount of patience this man has is incredible. It never felt forced…he genuinely wants you to have the wedding of your dreams—the whole staff does. Thank you Andrew for your patience and professionalism. My guests felt so safe at our wedding and I know it is because of the protocols you set forth. Jackie, the decor genius. The women is gifted. She listened to my vision and she told me some of her ideas to go along with it and we built this gorgeous weekend together. Thank you Jackie for bringing our vision to life that day. Your work is magical.When we arrived for our wedding weekend we were greeted by what I can only describe as the Fairy Godfather and Fairy Godmother of your wedding weekend…Ted and Janice. Again, no words. All I can say is I was with these two for 3 days and I feel like they are part of my family. Ted and Janice, thank you. To anyone reading this trust me when I tell you, you will feel same way about these two, I promise. They rock. Chef Mike was such a pleasure to work with on our menu for the weekend. Guests are still raving about our food selection. P.S. HIGHLY recommend the subs for your after party. I cannot tell you how many people raved about them. The Manor was also so on top of any allergies anyone had. The one complaint I have is that we couldn’t stay longer because I would have, haha. We did not want to leave. DO NOT hesitate to go on a tour of this venue. It was just pure class from start to finish. The PERFECT wedding venue. Thank you Lord Thompson Manor!!!

LTM is not just a wedding venue. It was a wedding experience like no other! Andrew & Jackie have formulated the perfect procedure to execute weddings as nothing we've ever seen before. We are so happy we chose them as our venue, and would highly recommend LTM to anyone. Our wedding landed smack in the middle of the pandemic. When Andrew and I spoke, he assured me that at LTM, they were problem solvers. They were able to execute a beautiful, fun, and safe wedding for us and everyone who attended. I honestly could not thank them enough for making us so happy. We didn't feel like a guest at an establishment, but more like visiting family for a big reunion with the staff included. i was a guest at my niece’s wedding in December of 2019 and my daughter was a bridesmaid. we stayed with the wedding party at the cottage house a few days before the wedding held on a Saturday. This was the most beautiful, romantic and relaxing wedding experience you could imagine. the facilities were outstanding, and the staff was over the top wonderful. i had made a slide show for the rehearsal dinner and the speakers i brought malfunctioned just before the dinner which put me in a semi-panic, but within 15 minutes Ted calmly found a solution and we were up and running. every other guest i talked to said this was the best wedding they had ever been to.if you book your wedding here you will love it.

Another review from a groom here. I am rather laid back go with the flow guy and never write reviews for anything. I have never been more happy to write a review for the amazing people at Lord Thompson Manor. I have been to numerous weddings over the years and it is clear that Lord Thompson Manner stands out above the rest and it is not even close. The attention to detail is unmatched. Just like others on this thread of reviews, my wife and I still have people saying it is the best wedding venue they have been to. Andrew and Jackie make a great team and are a pleasure to work with. Ted is the man and goes above beyond to make things stress free and also has a great voice....make sure he sings for you. Kate treated my wife and bridesmaids amazing all weekend too. Our wedding was right before Thanksgiving, easily our favorite Holiday. Chef Mike cooked up the best Thanksgiving Dinner for our rehearsal Dinner. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving will never be the same because the meal was arguably the best I ever had in my life. Wedding food has a reputation for being bad. I have friends texting me still about how good the food was. The entire staff is wonderful (forgetting a couple other names). Even the vendors they referred out were on point (On the Rise Bakery and Bonardi's Formal Wear go above and beyond similar to the LTM). Most wedding venues are very bland and have their typical motions. LTM has their own way of doing things and it works like a fine tuned machine. They take weddings to an entirely different level. It was such a stress free weekend because the staff goes above and beyond to make it that way. We hope we can go back as a guests one day. My wife and I are fortunate to have our wedding at LTM. It was easily the best weekend of our lives. The only bad part was driving home.

It is difficult to know where to begin to paint an accurate picture of my daughter and son-in-law's wedding as there is truly no way to do it justice. Five stars is not enough!We visited many venues the year before the wedding but none of them could compare to The Lord Thompson Manor (LTM). I don't consider LTM a venue rather a destination to a memorable experience. It is an understatement when I say I was beyond thrilled when my daughter and her fiancé chose LTM. After meeting Andrew at the Manor and touring the Cottage & Spa with Ted, I left after the first visit confident this would be the perfect place for Leah & Jack's dream wedding...not only for all the obvious reasons but knowing they would handle every detail allowing for a stress-free wedding weekend for ALL to enjoy and remember for a lifetime...that is exactly what happened...and here is how and why...The People: From our first visit through the Sunday brunch, the staff was AMAZING - welcoming, organized, professional, creative, compassionate, attentive (not intrusive), fun and incredibly nice! Ted, Kate and Janice ensured everything we needed was at our fingertips. Their attentiveness was beyond anything I could have hoped. The ratio of servers to guests is like no other. Truly, I do not remember seeing a dirty dish or glass the entire weekend. In addition, their recommendations for bakers, transportation, attire etc. were all top-notch. The Decor: The Manor is so tastefully decorated, elegant, yet inviting, and above all unbelievably romantic. The candles, linens, flowers, china are all stunning. My daughter and I were thrilled to work with Jackie in choosing just the right table settings and decorations. The options are mind-blowing. Jackie did an incredible job of understanding our vision and just made it happen! All the flowers were breath-taking, distinctive and abundant. In addition, Jackie and Ted went above and beyond to save the day when we arrived for rehearsal to find a sparsely decorated chapel (NO fault of LTM). Magically, it was transformed into the warm and charming chapel that Leah had hoped for complete with a gorgeous Christmas tree, lanterns, candles and more. This all happened while we were enjoying an impressive Tuscan themed rehearsal dinner complete with Tiramisu...which got rave reviews. The Cottage & Spa - WOW- comfortable, peaceful, cozy, dream-like!The Food: Chef Mike worked with us to create not only a spectacular reception cocktail hour and dinner but a weekend long feast. Starting with breakfast on Friday and ending with Sunday brunch, all the food was beyond delicious, artfully displayed, plentiful and with a multitude of choices. They accommodated every dietary restriction seamlessly. Andrew also helped us choose the perfect wines to accompany the rehearsal & reception dinners. The Ambiance: The surroundings delighted every sense! Sight- simply amazing location & decor; Sound- fantastic music, laughter and joyful conversations; Smell- right down to the perfect scent candles for the ceremony; Taste- food “out of this world”, wine & spirits top shelf; Touch- hugs, kisses, impeccable linens & not a single wrinkle to be found :-). Countless guests expressed that this was the most fabulous wedding they ever attended. However, the most heart-warming comment was from my daughter and son-in-law: magical and beyond the wedding of their dreams. During a difficult year of quarantining and social distancing, my husband and I have found much comfort in reminiscing about our PERFECT wedding. We are so grateful to have had the experience before all of these 2020 changes.The entire staff at Lord Thompson Manor made each and every moment of our wedding weekend both relaxing and memorable. If you love attention to detail LTM is for you! Not only was every detail perfect, but we were able to get that result and remain fairly “hands off”. The staff is so incredible that it was easy to put trust in them to get the job done with very little stress on the bride and groom! It was very evident that they knew exactly what they were doing and it took very little explanation for them to figure out exactly what our vision for the weekend was. We live only an hour and change away from LTM, but it still felt like a mini destination wedding with plenty of fun and relaxation.An aspect of the weekend that could have been extremely stressful went very smoothly due to the help of the LTM staff. My father is ill and it was a struggle to get him to the wedding and settled. He was unable to attend the rehearsal dinner so Jackie took a video for him to watch and also brought an entire picnic basket of our dinner to the hotel nearby. She was able to make him feel included and stress free. Ted helped him around in his wheelchair and effortlessly set up ramps when needed during the reception. He was the happiest I have seen not only watching on, but participating in the night! The food, the flowers, the table settings, the staff...I could go on and on about how each aspect was out of this world! I can’t tell you how many people said “best wedding EVER” and they were true genuine comments! Jackie, Andrew, Ted, Kate, Janice, and Chef Mike (among many others) were all incredible to work with. They truly made you feel special and like you didn’t need to have a care in the world. We could truly focus on being in the moment and the most important part, GETTING MARRIED! Perfect wedding, perfect staff, perfect venue...the key word here is PERFECT!

From the first tour all the way to final goodbyes on the Sunday of our wedding weekend, Lord Thompson Manor (and the entire staff) have stolen my heart. Let me start by saying I am incredibly meticulous and for my wedding day I refused to settle for less than the best - what I got was that and so much more. In a stressful, uncertain time (amidst many other brides feeling left in the dust by their venues, might I add), Lord Thompson Manor was there for my husband and I every step of the way, with bi-monthly calls to discuss planning and moving parts with everything going on in this crazy year that is 2020, and ensuring that all the proper protocols were in place to keep everyone safe. They made the planning process so effortless, even in a pandemic!! I could go on forever about that aspect alone, but besides that, the wedding weekend could not have gone smoother. Every detail was taken care of, the food was absolutely fabulous, and the ambiance was my dreamy, romantic wedding vision come to life. The entire wedding weekend was coordinated and carried out by them, from coming to the church with us to rehearse, communicating with all of our additional vendors, and even pinning up my train in between the ceremony and reception! They do everything to make your day about YOU, and take the stress off of your plate so you can actually enjoy your own wedding. By the end of the wedding process, Lord Thompson Manor won't be just your wedding venue, it will feel like a second home.

From start to finish my wedding weekend at Lord Thompson Manor was purely MAGICAL. When you get married there you aren’t just another bride having a wedding, you and all your guests became part of the lord Thompson manor family. If the gorgeous venue doesn’t blow you away (which it does) the EXCEPTIONAL staff and service will. Jackie, Andrew, Ted, Kate and Chef Mike literally will make your wedding dreams come true and will take care of every little detail starting from the moment you arrive! For example all of my items from the carriage house where I got ready were put away in my room at the Manor before I even arrived back from the church. Lastly, the food isn’t just good or great it’s incredible. Countless guests were coming up to my now husband and I to rave about the food. Knowing that i had a gluten allergy, Chef Mike went above and beyond to make sure there were plenty of gluten free dishes.If you want a wedding that’s truly one ofkind than lord Thomson manor is the place for you!

Review coming from groom...hands down this venue is excellent and I would pick again without question or hesitation.... -Attention to detail .. 5 stars. quality of food & Beverages... 5 stars... ability to delegate ( don't feel like picking the exact color napkins? )they will handle and you know it will come out perfect ... 5 stars. style/ uniqueness- 5 stars... we had 200+ people with a 10 piece band and on a nice day everyone fit without any issue. this venue is the perfect blend of unique/ classy but also capable of handling and throwing a large party . overall, this venue cares and understands they are handling one of the most important days of your life, and they do it with pride and attention to detail. i cannot stress the importance of this enough. we had the reception/ welcome party there, after party, and all day \" hang out\" the day of the wedding. several friends and family want to inquire about having their weddings here. net net, jackie and andrew now how to host a wedding and they do it right.

My husband and I had our wedding day exactly one month ago at the Lord Thompson Manor. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. Some things people have said to me are:\"This is the nicest wedding I've been to in a LONG time.\"\"Most wedding receptions can be pretty forgettable, but I will remember this one.\"\"By far the most elegant wedding I have ever officiated.\"When we started off our wedding planning process looking for a venue, we had quite a few \"dud\" encounters. Several places that, were pretty in their own right, but sort of felt like they were going through the motions and yours would just be another event to tick off their list. The moment we found the Lord Thompson Manor, we knew this would be where we got married. Secluded away down a long wooded path, impeccable grounds that invite exploration, artfully traditional interior...it became our escape for the most wonderful weekend of our lives.What truly sets this venue apart, however, are not the grounds designed by Fred Law Olmsted, the luxurious guest suites, and the roaring fireplaces...the incredible, dedicated staff of the LTM are truly the lifeblood that make this place shine. Jackie, Andrew, Ted, Chef Mike, Kate, and Priscilla all work together to make all of the details of your dream day become a reality. Recently removed from our honeymoon, my wife and I still cannot believe how magical our wedding was due in no small part to everyone at LTM. The breathtaking venue and décor set the tone for a wonder atmosphere, but the precise attention to detail as well as the above and beyond service that LTM provides is what sets it apart from every other wedding that I have ever attended. One of the most convenient aspects of having your wedding at LTM is by far the amount of work that is covered in-house. All of the design aspects (linens, chargers, flowers, etc.) are coordinated through Jackie, which makes communicating the concept so much easier. From the very beginning of our wedding planning, Jackie's experience and creativity were enormously helpful in guiding our design ideas. For the rehearsal dinner, our only desire was to have a travel-based theme and from there, Jackie and her staff ran with it. On the day of, we were greeted by a wide array of decorations ranging from antique globes to personalized luggage-tag place cards. Pictures of our travels were scattered throughout the grounds and they truly captured the happiness and adventure that we were looking for. I would be remiss if I did not mention the delicious food that Chef Mike prepared for us throughout the entire weekend. From the rehearsal dinner to the hors d'oeuvres to the desserts and everything in between, I do not think there is one bite that disappointed us or anyone in attendance. The beef tenderloin and salmon were cooked to perfection and the late-night subs were a must have at any event! That being said, one of my favorite memories has to be when, at the start of dinner service, Ted provided my wife and I a platter of all the passed hors d'oeuvres that we had missed our on during the cocktail hour! Although we may have forgone most of the first course because of it, that type of thoughtful gesture is what you can come to expect throughout a weekend at LTM.As I mentioned at the start of this review, the people behind the scenes really make the wedding day truly special. Ted and Kate were on site at both locations throughout the day and night and there wasn't a question or concern that they couldn't handle. Whether it be running back to the cottage house when my wife forgot her vows, or making sure everyone stayed on schedule, every action that they took completely subsided any anxiety or concern leading up to the proceedings. Expertise aside however, they are also two of the most caring and personable people that I have had the pleasure to meet. You can tell, just by talking to the both of them, that making each and every weekend as memorable and magical as ours was, is their passion. There are so many aspects of LTM that I could continue on about in a much longer review, but unfortunately this has a character maximum... My only hope is that the few words I was able to put together here can give anyone reading some small idea of how magical a weekend at Lord Thompson Manor truly is. Neither I nor my wife would change anything about our wedding weekend and we hope that this can serve a an overwhelmingly positive testimonial for anyone in search of making some of the best memories in their lifetime!

Lord Thompson Manor is THE place to get married. From the initial tour with Andrew (and Gracie!), the first planning meeting with Jackie, and the food tasting in March made for an entire year of excitement. Jackie, Andrew, and their entire team work non stop to give you the wedding of a lifetime, and so seamlessly at that! I can’t even imagine what goes on behind the scenes but all they care about is that the bride and groom are having a great experience with zero stress. I can tell you from experience I did not feel one ounce of stress all year (how?!) simply because of the way everyone at Lord Thompson has mastered their skills in weddings. I can’t say enough great things about the staff, the venue, and the effort going into making every wedding weekend special for each couple. Our wedding at LTM was as good and perfect as we could have imagined. The entire process was effortless and we really did not have a single planning stress as everything was taken care of in house. It was almost unreal how relaxed we were with planning this wedding. Andrew and Jackie were extremely prompt with communication answering any potentially stressful situations and questions quickly and clearly. Andrew was very helpful keeping us on track with what everything would cost so we knew what to expect. Working with Jackie we were able to bring our decor vision to life and the rehearsal and reception were exactly as we pictured and beyond. Ted, Kate, and Janice (Our personal hosts so to speak) were absolutely amazing. They were so friendly and helpful which was another huge part of keeping everything stress free. The wedding itself...Our guests could not get over the setup and how beautiful the manor was. Many people said it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. And so many more compliments to mention! All in all the owners, staff, grounds and weekend were absolutely awesome. Everyone was so great to work with and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We would highly highly recommend anyone looking to have a unique, lavish, and stress free wedding to look into LTM. You will not be disappointed in any aspect of your day.

If I could rate the Lord Thompson Manor with 10 stars I would. Our wedding weekend was absolutely amazing. The staff at the LTM is the best, they are so caring and so easy to work with, by the end of our wedding weekend we felt like family. They really make you feel like the manor is completely yours for the weekend. The attention to detail is so evident at the manor, which is the reason why our wedding weekend ran so smoothly with not one issue. They truly listened to everything we wanted and envisioned for our big day and it showed and was even better than we imagined. The décor, the food and drinks, the ambience, the service, just everything was impeccable. I do not have one bad thing to say about LTM. We loved being able to stay there the entire weekend and never felt like we were being rushed out of there like some other wedding venues we have been to. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, after party and Sunday morning breakfast all at the Manor and each event felt different to one another even though we were in the same venue which I thought was neat. Oh and not to mention our husky Izzy was with us the entire weekend, which made it 1000 times more special. I would highly recommend Lord Thompson Manor to anyone looking for a unique, one of a kind venue that has it all! There truly is no other wedding venue like LTM out there. There is something so magical and special about the Lord Thompson Manor, it's hard to leave this place. Our guests can't stop raving about our wedding, and I can't thank the LTM staff enough (Andrew, Jackie, Chef Mike, Kate, Ted, Danielle and Priscilla) for all their hard work to make our wedding a dream come true. We can't even begin to list the ways in which Lord Thompson Manor is the perfect wedding venue. Andrew and Jackie are extremely organized and helpful in all details of wedding planning, making everything so easy! By the time your wedding weekend arrives there are no details that you need to think about, the team has everything handled. Jackie, Kate and Ted went above and beyond during our wedding weekend, from the most perfect flowers to anticipating our every need. It rained the morning of our wedding, but the team kept everyone calm and reassured that it would pass, which it did. Ted was out drying the lawn with a leaf blower, even trying the trees overhead so that we could still do all of our pictures and ceremony outside on the gorgeous grounds. The food was incredible, Chef Mike worked with us to make the best meal and handled every small request with ease. We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding and are so lucky to have had the opportunity to celebrate at Lord Thompson Manor!

My husband and I were married at Lord Thompson Manor in August and I truly can't recommend this venue enough. To me what sets this venue apart is the attention to detail and the high level service you receive at every step of the way. Everyone on staff went so far above and beyond to make our special day the best if could be. Their attention to detail was unparalleled, they truly have thought of everything and make the entire process easy. I was able to fully enjoy my wedding weekend because they were on top of every detail. There was literally no stress for me or anyone in my family, they had everything taken care of. A couple of people really stood out when working with the Manor. Jackie did all of our design and truly outdid herself. She took my vision and made it come to life in a way I never thought possible. She has an excellent eye for design and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Working with Chef Mike was so easy and fun. We came up with our dream menu and nothing was out of the question. He was open to suggestions and gave us some great ideas. The food throughout our entire weekend was absolutely delicious!! I have heard from countless guests that this was by far the best food that they have ever had at a wedding.Finally, working with Ted, Kate and Danielle the weekend of our wedding was a dream come true. I don't even know where to begin with how to thank them for the level of service they provided not only me and my family but each and every guest we had. Once again, I am still receiving compliments about how happy, accommodating and knowledgable the staff was and how they went above and beyond with everything they did.It was truly the best experience I could have imagined and I can't recommend Lord Thompson Manor enough!

I have hosted events in the past and worked closely with venues, but I've never experienced as personal, caring, beautifully organized and wise a group of people as those at Lord Thompson. They were on top of every detail, start to finish, but not only that, they had a sense of the flow of events, the timing of things, subtle ways to make people feel welcome and special. Their warmth and generosity of spirit enhanced everyone's joy. Jackie's personal commitment to the wedding day was truly remarkable. It felt like things were being managed by a dear friend. I know that sounds odd, but that is really how it was. The members of our family who stayed at the Cottage could not stop talking about how wonderfully they were looked after; someone was there to zip a dress or to share an amusing moment. The venue is simply beautiful. Guests are still talking about the glorious outdoor fireplaces, and about how nice it was to have different rooms to sit and chat --and the sheer graciousness of the place. And the food -- Chef Mike is a wonder, and so lovely to work with. Several people remarked that this was the best wedding meal they'd ever had. From the very first phone call, I knew I had lucked into a very special place. I admit that I had not originally intended to make such a costly wedding, but I would not trade a single moment of the incredible weekend our family and friends enjoyed at Lord Thompson Manor. It exceeded all our hopes and expectations.

Look no further ! Have you ever talked to friends who tell you how stressful wedding planning was and how happy they are it’s over ? Want the opposite ? You found it. I was never once worried stressed or concerned about one thing. The Lord Thompson manor will help with every last detail and leave you feeling like you did nothing but show up and somehow still make your day so personal that you think maybe yours was the only wedding they ever threw and that they have known you your entire life. Jackie, Ted, Kate, Andrew and Janice make this place. It is magic. Jackie is a designer. She will make your wedding unforgettable and breathtaking and so personal. Ted will be your best friend. He did everything from help bustle my dress to blow off the wet grounds to make sure I had my favorite place for our first look and even created our perfect arbor (oh by the way he sang us a sweet goodbye on the Sunday brunch). The food is unreal chef mike will customize to your taste. Our guests were raving about it before they even sat down for dinner. The appetizers and stations have everything you can imagine. We were on a flight to Italy on our honeymoon wishing we were back at the manor in Thompson Connecticut. Everyone we talked to said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. This includes numerous married couples. This place is a blessing and we are so glad we chose it.

Our wedding weekend at Lord Thompson Manor was BEYOND anything we could have dreamed! The team at the Manor was incredible from the day we first toured all the way through our wedding weekend. They showed an impeccable attention to detail, organization and creativity throughout the entire process. Jackie took the pieces of design concepts we had given her and created a stunning, unique, atmosphere that was right out of a magazine! Ted, Kate, and Danielle, made us feel right at home and so supported all weekend. Chef Mike created a meal none of us will ever forget!! Our guests still talk about how the food at our wedding was some of the best they have ever had. We will always consider the team part of our family! Not to mention the accommodations at the Cottage and Carriage house (and that Watson Boutique!) were perfect for spending family time before and after the wedding. The wedding weekend was a flawless experience from start to finish and we will cherish our time there. So many of our guests continue to tell us that it was the most magical wedding experience and we have the Lord Thompson Manor team to thank for that.

They pay attention to every detail, and make sure everything looks and feels perfect during your entire wedding weekend. Lord Thompson Manor absolutely, unequivocally deserves the \"Bride's Choice Award.\" I cannot even begin to describe how perfect and unique my wedding weekend was! It was just magical! Every SINGLE detail had been thought of and executed with elegance and perfection. Andrew, Jackie, Ted, and Kate took away any and all stresses that I might have had. The rest of the staff was just as gracious and accommodating. I was not worried about a single thing! Except of course crying in front of 200 people! The rooms at the Manor and Cottage House were impeccably kept and any requests were filled immediately. I was blown away by the lavish decorations on which Jackie and her team worked tirelessly to transform the Manor into a whimsical palace straight out of a fairytale. Chef Mike provided delicious food ALL weekend, keeping us satiated and impressed! I have been told by many of my guests that they had never been to a wedding like mine before, the food was out of this world, the atmosphere was amorous and blissful, and the manor itself was just exquisite. Thank you to everyone at the Manor who made my wedding dreams come true!

As a wedding professional myself, I can honestly say the Lord Thompson Manor team is absolutely top notch and a rare find. From our gorgeous outdoor rehearsal dinner which was perfectly styled, to our wedding night that could not have gone more smoothly, we were beyond thrilled. The styling, timeline, incredible food, and ambiance of this location is something that is very very rare. Our guests were in awe at the grounds and service. Ted and Kate worked with us all weekend and were consummate professionals in every aspect of the word as well as the rest of their team. This venue and its staff are absolutely AMAZING, hands down. Where do I start? I wanted an intimate wedding and toured at least 20 venues before saying “this is the one” when I pulled up in the driveway. The entire staff never ever rushed you during any of the process. The dining rooms are broken up but since you only sit 45-60 minutes for dinner you won’t really notice. The venue is beautiful in and of itself and is only enhanced more with Jackie’s tablescapes, decorations and flower arrangements. Check out her work on Facebook and Instagram and you will not be disappointed. Everything looked like it came out of a magazine. I was so confident in her abilities for the tables, decorations & flowers that I gave her colors, a few ideas and a picture of my dress and let her do her thing. I’m still getting compliments on all the flowers and decorations. Chef Mike was fantastic and able to accommodate all the food allergies as well as the need for some Kosher/ Halal meals. There was always enough food and a month later my guests are still raving about it. Ted & Kate are also amazing and helped smooth out hiccups of the day which included finding me another vintage Rolls Royce, bustling my dress & making sure all my stuff made it from the Cottage House to the Manor. Ted is THE MAN because he went above and beyond smoothing things over as well as helping my family. The weekend was fantastic, and my husband and I wished it could have lasted forever. If you want a personalized wedding, impeccable service, an intimate venue, not to be rushed and amazing food, this is your venue.

We are still unable to fully process how spectacular our wedding weekend was! Lord Thompson Manor and the impeccable team here truly brought everything together so perfectly. As a foodie, food was SO important to us. Chef Mike wowed me from the start and executed everything perfectly throughout our tasting & planning period and that didn’t waver at all for the actual wedding weekend! We continue to hear compliments about the food in general, and also specifically HOW MUCH food we had for cocktail hour!! If you want to wow your guests with an exceptional cocktail hour, this is the place for you!! We had our rehearsal dinner here as well which my MIL planned and we definitely “wowed” our guests with that too! Weather was not on our side that weekend, but the staff at LTM was extremely swift in making changes necessary to move things indoors and the venue was just as romantic and dreamy indoors, I couldn’t complain! Jackie’s eye for design and decor is outstanding; we had her do our flowers as well and they were gorgeous!! This is truly a full service venue - and I couldn’t have been more thankful to have chosen them! The Manor will even handle place cards for your guests if you choose. These little extra miles that they went really amounted to so much stress-saving; not to mention they do this all the time & cohesively work together; juggling multiple outside vendors can get tricky. Honestly, these little details were NOT what sold me on Lord Thompson Manor, but looking back on how stressful it COULD have been, i was so grateful to have picked this venue!This venue won me over from the start: 1. BEAUTY & CHARM. I’ve always wanted an intimate wedding & I don’t enjoy the big ballroom feel, but (thankfully) have a large family so we did need a venue that could hold a decent amount. At the Manor, you get that capacity without sacrificing the romantic, intimate feeling. Fireplaces, candles, gorgeous architecture that will wow you in itself - needing very minimal decor!! Then there’s the Cottage House where the bridal party can stay/get ready - its a bride’s dream come true. I’ve been in several weddings as a bridesmaid & I can say that no bridal suite can compare!2. Its YOURS FOR THE WEEKEND. So many venues that we looked at had a specific time frame that we have to be in & out by, most of them hosting two weddings a day! It all felt too rushed to me. With the Manor, we got to enjoy our venue from Friday to Sunday. Cant beat that!Jackie and Andrew are so wonderful to work with and really made our weekend unforgettable. Ted & Kate tended to our needs throughout the entire weekend and made sure everything went smoothly. Chef Mike is an excellent cook & I hope I get invited to a wedding here so I can have his foood again ;)A few things to note for logistics: Dining is in separate rooms, which is common in these types of venues (if you want a traditional ballroom wedding, this isnt the place for ya!) but the rooms are all open to each other, and the way that the Manor executes weddings, no one felt left out or secluded in a far away room (for instance, there are no dances during dinner, so no one misses anything if they’re seated in a different room- & bonus, I gotto eat my whole dinner!)I only wish they had more guest rooms on site as we had to be selective! But, hotels nearby & we used their recommended shuttle service (Ben)!It was the best weekend ever. if you choose this venue, you CANNOT go wrong!

The Manor was the only venue we looked at, as I knew I wanted something unique and the Manor offered everything we were looking for and more! The entire weekend was amazing and the staff took care of every little detail. Our friends and family have not stopped talking about how much fun they had at our wedding! The venue is beautiful and the staff is incredible. I have a gluten allergy and the weekend menu was crafted to be gluten free for me, which was wonderful! We couldn’t have found a better wedding venue and can’t thank the Manor staff enough for making our wedding perfect and unforgettable!

My husband Wes and I got married in March of 2018 and could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue than Lord Thompson Manor. We knew from the minute we saw the pictures and read the reviews, it would be the place where we would have our wedding. We went down to meet Andrew and Jackie that following weekend and completely fell in love with LTM even more than before. They checked in with us on a regular basis to see if we needed any help picking vendors or coordinating any details for our special day. They suggested the perfect church (Westfield Congregational Church), photographer (Alicia Ann Photography) and DJ (Local Motion Entertainment). We are total foodies and the tasting blew us out of the water. Normally wedding food is mediocre at best, but LTM reminded us of being at a five star restaurant! We also loved the fact that we could pick out what types of wine and alcohol would be served. Jackie worked with us to pick out perfect decorations and color schemes. The flowers she picked out were even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our french bulldog Lola is a huge part of our lives and was able to join us for our wedding weekend which made it extra special. Jackie even made her a special flower necklace. The wedding weekend experience of being there from the rehearsal dinner, wedding and through to brunch the next day made it feel less like being at a wedding venue and more like being at a vacation home. If you are looking for the perfect place to have your wedding, look no further, LTM should be your venue. Our family and friends are still talking about how perfect the venue was and that it was one of their favorite weddings of all time! We agree :-)

We had the wedding of our dreams at Lord Thompson Manor! Every detail was executed perfectly, the ambiance was romantic and the service was impeccable. Jackie did a great job bringing our vision to life and incorporated personal details of our relationship that made the Wedding even more special. Our guests can’t stop talking about our wedding and how classy, elegant, organized and fun it was! The food received rave reviews and every course was delicious. We worked with Chef Mike to incorporate a custom dish, which we loved and was well received by all. Kate kept us organized and on schedule along with Ted, who made sure that we were able to enjoy some private moments together as a couple throughout the night. We cannot say enough great things about Lord Thompson Manor and the unique venue that it is. It’s such a memorable experience to have use of the KISS Spa and Cottage House and be able to stay on site at the Manor with family. We highly recommend Lord Thompson Manor for anyone looking to have an exceptional and distinctive wedding venue! They do it all, and they do it well!

When I think about our wedding at the Lord Thompson Manor I automatically wish we could do it all over again. Andrew, Jackie, Ted and the entire team at the Lord Thompson Manor made our special day more spectacular than we ever imagined.From the initial tour and meeting to the tasting event Jackie and Andrew were committed to providing us exceptional service. Jackie took our design concepts and ideas and perfected them. She was so in tune with us we never had to make any changes to the design concept.Chef Mike did an incredible job with the food. Literally our guests were astonished with the variety and options for them. He was extremely accommodating and supportive for many of our guests with dietary issues.Our overnight guests were beyond impressed with the comfort, coziness, and service of the accommodations. All of our guests couldn't believe how every detail had been thought out and planned. Throughout the entire event the most used phrase I heard was \"Best Wedding Ever!\"When we left on Sunday morning after an incredible breakfast we left knowing that we had picked the best venue for our wedding. We also left knowing that we had made new friends.We are truly thankful and blessed for having this incredible venue and team in our lives. When I think back to my wedding I immediately get a huge smile on my face and all giddy. Yes, because I married the man of my dreams but also because there are literally no words to describe how PERFECT the weekend was thanks to the Lord Thompson Manor. Really, I always “knew” that SOMETHING would go wrong and was concerned with how I would handle it. I’m laughing as I type this because all those concerns left my mind the minute I arrived at the manor.Who knew with a few pictures from pinterest and a handful of conversations, someone would be able to bring every childhood dream to life at an aptitude even better than you ever imagined? Well, Jackie did just that. She has something special that every bride would be lucky to experience. Rehearsal dinner? I sent the invitation I was obsessed with and guess what - she brought it to life! I didn’t even know that was possible. The decor at the manor is unlike anything else and requires minimal work from the guests of honor (and with demanding careers it was MUCH appreciated). Then you move on to the staff in general, half of the time you didn’t know they were there and the other half you wondered how no empty glass or plates were left around and how everything remained in tip top shape! Kate who tended to the cottage house, made sure every detail was taken care of. Already knowing to make mimosas in special glasses I had purchased without me asking all the way to buttoning my wedding gown. Ted? Debating naming our first boy after this guy, impeccable customer service, master of ceremonies. Guess who bustled my gown? Changed my heels to sandals? Opened the doors when Aaron got too warm? Set up our sweetheart table at 1am with pride(Aaron caught you😉)? Yeah, mans got many talents. His attention to everyone while remaining focused on us, the bride and groom, was exceptional and I’m frankly baffled he made it possible with such poise! I can’t forget Andrew, the guy behind the scenes (but also serving the fish tacos during cocktail hour and manning the mimosa and Bloody Mary bar at brunch). Due to my business background, I really dug into the details with Andrew and he happily discussed topics openly and was willing to accommodate my recommendations and desires. It really was a pleasure doing business. I could go on for pages but instead I’ll just go drool over my photos thanks to the beautiful backdrop this venue provides. Do yourself a favor, if you want the perfect venue without hassle and headaches, book the manor! P.S. our family and friends are trying to find excuses to have a weekend here again. No ones getting married but sure we can find something to host! Would do it over again and again and again! (When can we move in???)

The experience that Jackie, Andrew, Ted, Kate and Chef Mike created for us during our wedding weekend at The Lord Thompson Manor was nothing short of a fairy tale. From the moment I walked in to the venue during the infancy stages of wedding planning, I knew the Manor was someplace special. It was like no other venue I visited in consideration or attended another friend's wedding. but the venue alone was not what made the Manor so unique. The tight knit team that Jackie and Andrew have assembled through the years is so special; their chemistry and how they work together was a huge testament to the experience they created not only for us, but for all of our guests. Jackie (owner and wedding planner) brilliantly planned and executed the most beautiful wedding decor, flowers, themed rehearsal dinner and reception. She has an incredible eye for design and was a joy to work with throughout the planning process to ensure my vision was captured so perfectly on my wedding day. There was no detail that was overlooked, the service was impeccable - our wedding guests still comment on how impressed they were by the wait staff, the bartenders and our hosts for the evening, Kate and Ted. The experience they create for you the moment you begin your wedding weekend, is far superior than I could have expected. I literally did not have to worry about a single thing from the minute we got there for the rehearsal dinner. Everything was taken care of. No stone un-turned, no problem too big to fix. The staff was so attentive, friendly, thoughtful, and was a true pleasure getting to know throughout the wedding weekend. Kate and Ted were the dynamic duo who attended to Kevin and I throughout the weekend. Kate could not have been more sweet and attentive and was always ready to help. It was the little gestures (like cleaning off makeup from Kevin's white dinner jacket after the receiving line, to patting me down with a cold compress on a hot and humid summer day, to Ted serenading us with Sinatra while we waited for our guests to arrive for the cocktail hour!) that went along way and made the difference in their service compared to anything that I've experienced before. And I would be remiss not to mention the incredible food that Chef Mike prepared for us throughout the weekend. Every meal from the moment we stepped onto the property on Friday for the rehearsal through Sunday's post-wedding brunch was carefully curated with Chef Mike's expertise. His partnership along the way in customizing our menus was amazing and exactly what Kevin and I hoped for being the foodies that we are! He is a brilliant at his craft and the compliments about our food are still rolling in from our guests! Overall the experience that the LTM team created for our wedding has far surpassed any and all expectations that we had going in. All of the different pieces of property (from the Manor to the Kiss Spa where my bridal party stayed, to the Watson House where they hosted an afternoon tea in between the ceremony and the cocktail hour) was the setting of a true fairy tale. Each property had its own unique personality and such a romantic, relaxing and perfect environment to top it all off. I highly recommend The Lord Thompson Manor for all brides and grooms who are looking for a full-service wedding weekend experience. They can't make the weekend any easier or more delightful for you! I have their entire team to thank for giving us the most amazing memories of our wedding that we’ll cherish forever.

They take care of everything from decor, flowers, food, accommodations, hair and makeup, the list goes on. Jackie even helped to coordinate our church ceremony to ensure everything went smooth and the church looked beautiful. You will not have to worry about a single thing and it is all done SO well.A single detail does not go missed as Jackie is a decor professional. She well exceeded any expectations I had.The team at LTM makes your wedding weekend feel like you are hosting an event at home, without having to lift a finger. They are true professionals.My father walked away saying it is the best money he has ever spent as the weekend was unlike anything I have ever experienced. MULTIPLE guests shared that it was the most beautiful and FUN wedding they had ever been to. Food was delicious, decor & flowers were top notch, staff was so pleasant and they truly made sure every person was taken care of. Hair and makeup at the cottage are true professionals. [Dan] My wife and I were married at Lord Thompson Manor last fall. We can’t say enough about our experience working with Andrew, Jackie and their staff. We had friends/family join from near and far including first time visitors to the U.S. Andrew and Jackie were unbelievable in pulling together a weekend experience that blended American traditions with a special focus on my military service along with traditions from my wife’s native Indian culture. It totally worked due only to the creativity and support of these two. [Glory] I appreciated the amount of listening and patience Jackie took to educate me on American customs turning my early ideas of a wedding experience blending distinct cultures into a reality which far exceeded my expectations. Jackie and Andrew were invaluable in coordinating recommended vendors from the music and floral arrangements, to the bridal party’s hair and makeup as well as the unforgettable horse drawn carriage experience. [Dan] I was absolutely impressed with the attention to detail shown in every aspect of the planning process as well as the timing and overall flow of the multiple day event and wedding reception. My wife didn’t have the traditional support many brides often have on a wedding day, somewhat due to unfamiliar cultural differences by wedding party members. Time and again Andrew discretely stepped in to ensure all bridal party responsibilities were more fully understood or otherwise covered to allow my wife to live her dream day. On a separate note I can’t say enough about the food from the initial tasting to the final culinary experience enjoyed by our families and friends.[Glory] We highly recommend Lord Thompson Manor to all perspective brides and grooms. The entire process was open and transparent regarding budget and expectations. Andrew and Jackie consistently far exceeded our expectations, adding creative touches throughout that maximized our budget and made all of our families and guests feel like royalty. Lord Thompson Manor in Thompson, CT was the perfect venue for us. SERIOUSLY - look no further. If you don't want the typical wedding venue and really want to see you vision come to life with the support of an amazing team, choose LTM. They helped us seamlessly execute on our vision for our day and we couldn’t be happier. It was lush, majestic and extremely romantic. The property is filled with amazing greenery and is beautiful getaway in the middle of the woods in the small town of Thompson. The food was absolutely amazing - who said the couple doesn’t eat on their wedding day!? ;) Our favorite part of the the manor and their services was the staff. They were extremely accommodating and friendly to the point where our guests commented on how gracious and helpful they all were. When we told the owners Jackie and Andrew, they mentioned that “the trick is not to hire seasoned team members, but to hire nice people”. Not only is the staff amazing, the food is absolutely delicious (shoutout to chef mike) and the other coordinators Ted, Kate and Danielle are really on top of every single detail! LTM also has The Cottage House (sister house) down the street where the bridal party gets ready and really is just the perfect space to get ready in and to have guests stay in. It such a beautiful space and the spread they provide is just amazing. Another party that the LTM team completely nailed was the farewell brunch - this was the perfect way to end our wedding weekend! We are thrilled with our wedding at Lord Thompson manor. Every aspect of our wedding was perfection due to their outstanding services. The venue has such a beautifully romantic ambiance giving us the most stunning photos! The staff was so attentive to our every need and held up the highest level of professionalism. Ted, Kate, and Danielle went above and beyond in making our day extra special from Ted serenading us during dinner, to Danielle expertly coordinating everything, and Kate assisting me (the bride) with everything I could need. The food was spectacular! On top of that, Jackie did the most stunning flower arrangements. She so kindly facetimed with me while she was arranging the flowers to put my nerves at ease. I was truly speechless when I saw them in person for the first time. So many of our guests reported that our wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to! I'm not sure where to start with this except - if you're thinking of booking Lord Thompson Manor for your wedding, do it. I couldn't have dreamed up a better wedding venue and a better group of people to work with. The weekend wedding concept is a gift for brides and grooms; from the rehearsal dinner to the reception, after party and brunch, we had ample opportunities to have meaningful conversations with each and every guest. The property also has something for everyone. Need a break from the dance floor? No problem, guests could easily slip out to the fire pit, the outdoor cabanas, play some lawn games or head down to the billiards room to shoot some pool. It would have been impossible to get bored - evidenced in us still having a crowd when the last shuttles came at 2 am!Jackie is a magician when it comes to taking your vision and making it a reality, and on the weekend of the wedding, Jackie, Ted, Kate, and the entire staff at LTM were always one step ahead.I hear from brides sometimes that they didn't have fun at their wedding because of the stress, or they were glad it was over. In contrast, I spent the week after the wedding trying to figure out how I could do the weekend all over again, and trying to convince everyone I knew to have their wedding at LTM so I could go back!

We have never met a staff so dedicated and committed to ensuring all guests were treated like royalty! I'm not sure any review can do this venue and staff justice, not only is the actual venue stunning, the staff accommodates every need, detail, guest, vendor and vision for an entire weekend. Having the capacity to stay at the manor and cottage house, host the rehearsal and Sunday brunch at the same location and provide gorgeous florals throughout as well as catering courtesy of the amazing Chef Mike as well as hair and makeup by Pricilla makes this venue outshine any other. We cannot thank Jackie, Andrew, Ted, Kate, Danielle, Chef Mike and Pricilla enough for an absolutely incredible experience. They allowed us to really enjoy every minute of the weekend. This was more than we could have ever dreamed of and cannot say enough about the entire staff who put our wedding together flawlessly. A special thank you to Ted who is beyond impressive, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond, even creating our floral arch himself, while showing such hospitality to every single guest. Our wedding in April was absolutely perfect! The attention to detail is incredible. The team at Lord Thompson Manor truly cater your wedding to be exactly how you want it to be. Jackie is the most perfect wedding coordinator and has amazing style and taste when it comes to decorating the manor. Andrew is incredibly organized when it comes to addressing your needs for the bar and handling your overall budget so you have a clear understanding of what will go on. Ted, Kate and Skylar are absolutely amazing at making sure that you have zero worries on your day at the manor and cottage house and will make you feel like royalty with any request you make. (Ted also has a fantastic voice that you will love.) Chef Mike is absolutely amazing and will work his menu around you and your wishes. (Everyone still raves about the hors d’oeuvres.) Priscilla at the cottage house will make you look absolutely stunning and is an incredible stylist that you need on your special day. The whole staff really just made the experience more than 5 stars worth of a review and their service truly made our wedding a beautiful memory. I would highly recommend anyone to have their own amazing wedding at Lord Thompson Manor.

We are so fortunate to have been able to celebrate that most important day of our lives at LTM with our family and friends.LTM was the only place that fulfilled all our wants and needs. From our initial visit and consultation through check-out the staff exceeded every single expectation we had. The memories created here will last with us forever and we will always be so proud to say we had our wedding celebration here in quiet Thompson, CT. From vendors and guests everyone told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and it’s no wonder why. Andrew, Jackie, Ted and the rest of the staff is the best in this industry for a reason. I was always one of those little girls who thought about my wedding day and had it planned before I was even engaged. I had this magical fairy tale wedding in mind, the type you see in storybooks. When I pulled up to Lord Thompson Manor for the first time I knew all my dreams were about to come true. The moment I walked through those dreamy doors I knew this was where I wanted to get married. My husband and I had been to many ballroom wedding over our years and we knew we wanted a way to make our 140 person wedding feel as intimate as possible. We also knew we wanted to have outside seating options for those who didn’t want to dance and the multiple cabanas, couches and patio tables allowed for that. No only is the Manor a unique gorgeous venue but the team is outstanding! Jackie, Andrew, Ted and Kate are an exceptional and thoughtful team who make you feel loved, and heard throughout the entire process. Chef Mike is also amazing to work with and is willing to customize and accommodate in any and every way, and of course his food is outstanding! A wedding at Lord Thompson Manor isn’t just a day but a weekend event which made our special time last even longer. I was married at LTM in May and I still hear from so guests that it was the best wedding they had ever attended! The unique aspect of having my family and bridesmaids stay in the Manor and Cottage House added another amazing experience for not only my husband and I but for our guests. My words can never begin to compliment the Lord Thompson Manor team enough. I am forever grateful to have found them and I am so luck have been able to married my best friend there. My only wish is that I could be stuck in a time loop and relive that experience over and over! Lord Thompson Manor you will forever have a piece of my heart!

The incredible wedding weekend my husband & I along with our family & friends experienced at the Manor is indescribable. Pure magical from the very second we first visited the Manor, we were in complete awe at what Andrew & Jackie had created there. Every step of the way Andrew, Jackie, Danielle & Chef Mike we’re there to guide us & make us feel so special. Working with Jackie to create our own unique vision for the entire weekend was a blast! Her attention to detail is so focused & specific. It’s truly a talent like nothing I’ve ever seen. She goes beyond your highest expectations & the end result is just magnificent! Many of our guests went on & on about what a fabulous time they had, how amazing the food was & how beautiful & unique the venue was. We had many guests say it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The food was extraordinarily & working with Chef Mike was such a pleasure, he helped us customize our menu using fresh in season ingredients. My family, Bridesmaids & I had a wonderful time at the stunning, relaxing Cottage house with sweet Kate, who was great. She took care of our every need! My husband, his family & groomsmen were spoiled by the incredible Ted at the Manor all weekend. Ted also went above & beyond for us & all our guests. He was so attentive & enjoyable to be around. He was there with anything before you even needed him there. I noticed & appreciated every detail & thoughtful act the entire weekend! I believe they all do what they do because they truly love making each couple create a memory they will never forget! Our one wish is that we can relive every moment of our wedding weekend over 100 more times! We would recommend the Manor to anyone & everyone over & over again! The Lord Thompson Manor is top notch. From the time I arrived on Friday afternoon at the cottage to settle in and get ready for the rehearsal until the time we left Sunday afternoon after the brunch we were treated like royalty. Kate took amazing care of the girls at the cottage and Ted took great care of the guys at the manor. Andrew and Jackie were wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process. Just walking into the Manor months before at our tasting event, made chills run up and down my spine as there was nothing missed as far as decorating, impeccable service from the staff and the incredible freshly made food. Well, that all continued to hold true the entire weekend we were there for the wedding. I received so much positive feedback from our guests so we knew everyone had an amazing time. Being over an hour away from our home, Lord Thompson Manor is definitely the best kept secret in CT. I am hoping to have the honor of being a guest there many more times in the future. It is my understanding that Lord Thompson Manor won The Knot “Brides Choice” Wedding Venue Award last year and they most certainly deserved it and I hope they receive it again. They definitely know how to make an entire weekend “Magical”. Outstanding beyond words.

When you think about all the pieces of a wedding weekend that must come together; the checklists, the people, the decor, the food and the music, you realize that what Jackie and the LTM staff do is truly superhuman. From the the way tables are cleared and drinks are served, to the center pieces and dinner menu, not even the tiniest detail is over looked. Looking back on our wedding weekend, I cannot think of a more picturesque setting or a more thoughtful and caring host than LTM. The hardest reality is knowing that a wedding goes by as quickly as everyone tells you. We were able to completely relax! I don't even know where to begin....Lord Thompson Manor is the most magical place to get married! We had our wedding weekend there this past June and we were left completely speechless. From the day you first step foot on the sprawling 40+ acre property you are greeted with love and warmth. Jackie & Andrew have created the most magical destination for a couple to have their wedding. Every detail of your wedding will be looked after carefully by Jackie, Andrew, & Ted from every flower, every bite of food, every sip you drink, every candle that gets lit, every plate, every decoration will be thoughtful placed to make it the wedding of your dreams. Ted will be \" your-go-to guy\" for all you need during your weekend. He takes care of it all with grace and ease and a smile on his face until the last person decides its time to go to sleep. We were serenaded by Ted's beautiful voice throughout the weekend, the guys got to relax & play sports and enjoy the Manor's beautiful property while the girls drank champagne and mimosas while getting ready over in the gorgeously white, charming cottage house just a mile down the road from the manor. Our wedding was truly magical and we left feeling like it was our home. If you not only want a wedding but an experience from start to finish where you are not just \" another bride and groom\" have your wedding at LTM. We can't recommend it enough. There is a feeling when you come to the Manor and it makes you never want to leave!! The food that James Beard award winning Chef Mike prepares for you and your guests will leave everyone in awe. Guests are still talking about the food to this day and how it was the best food they have ever tasted in their lives. You will speak with Chef Mike numerous times curating your menus for the weekend to be 100% authentic and YOUR OWN. My husband and I selected LTM for our wedding weekend because we knew we didn't want the typical ball room wedding and we knew we didn't want a one night and you're done event. We wanted a weekend wedding that was cozy, romantic, and intimate and that is just what we got. Our expectations were not only met but exceeded to the highest degree. When we look back and think about our wedding we smile, we laugh and we cry because it was literally the best and most magical weekend of our lives. This Mother-of-the-Bride cannot say enough wonderful things about Lord Thompson Manor! Andrew and Jackie have created an elegant, dream-like venue that will turn even your most sophisticated guest into a gushing pool of compliments. From the planning stage through the final execution of the entire Wedding Weekend , the LTM staff has every detail covered. They are calm, organized, able to answer any question, field what you may think is the oddest request, calm the rawest of nerves. Their staff is exquisitely trained, the service impeccable. Chef Mike is nothing short of a genius, Ted is, well, a man for all seasons, and Jackie should (with all due apologies to Gal Gadot) receive the Oscar for Wonder Woman. If I have one regret, it is that I only have one daughter, because I want to return to Lord Thompson Manor and do it all over again!

We happened to find Lord Thompson Manor by mistake, and it was the best mistake ever (besides the huge one my wife made getting married to me). After just 10 minutes of being inside, we were convinced that this place couldn't be real. Not only were the grounds beautiful, but they seemingly could accommodate almost every request we had. Andrew took us through the house and we were bewildered that we had finally found a place that wasn't driven by squeezing people out of every penny. Andrew focused more on understanding what we were looking for and working with us on how to make it happen. The second we left Lord Thompson Manor, we knew that there wasn't another place in the world we could have our wedding. I don't think a paragraph could encapsulate how critical Jackie (the other owner) was to our wedding. My wife was generally overwhelmed by the entire wedding process. I can't even recall how many times she and Jackie would be talking and texting late into the night, not just about the details of our wedding, but also just really warm words of encouragement and reassurance that everything was going to be ok. Everybody else from LTM deserves their own essay as well, but I'm sure if you're reading this, you're probably bored by now. Here are the highlights:Food: There were no lists with Chef Mike. He worked with us every step of the way to make the custom menu of our dream. The feedback from our guest's was exclusively that this was the best wedding meal they've ever had. They made it a point to say that not only did we have the most amazing food during cocktail hour (and an overwhelming amount of it), it was the first time that the seated dinner matched the quality of the appetizers. The Grounds: LTM is unbelievable. Every nook and cranny that you explore clearly shows that this is a place that was built with love and attention to detail. There is nothing more stunning than being in the parlor while it's being lit by candles and the fireplace is roaring. From the incredible chandelier tree to the communal firepit, there is not one place in the entire venue that you wouldn't want to spend hours in. This place was a dream come true. On top of all that, we had full access to everything for the entire weekend and it truly felt like it was our home the entire time we were there.Ted: I'll let you discover the magic of Ted yourself. When we were told that tipping him was optional, but that we would want to by the end of the wedding, we didn't really understand. On Sunday as we were leaving, there was no question in our mind that having Ted around made our wedding extra special. The man is incredible, and it's almost worth staying at LTM just to hang out with him.Vendors: LTM handed us our vendor's on a silver platter. Not only did they organize the equivalent of a job fair for us to meet their recommended vendors, all of them were wonderful. While we didn't go with all of LTM's recommendations, the vendors we found on our own said that they felt like they had been working with the staff for years. The wedding: LTM is a finely tuned machine. At no point in time was there ever any doubt in our mind that something could go wrong. Every member of the staff knew exactly what to do, and had backup plans for every situation. Even more amazingly, all of this was included in our package. We could focus on enjoying our wedding and our guests rather than worrying about who goes where and making sure our guests were having fun.

The Lord Thompson Manor hosted out wedding in October 2016 and they did a fabulous job. The food was spectacular and the venue is gorgeous. Both Jackie and Andrew are easy to work with and will do everything to make sure all requests are met. Jackie did such a great job with the flowers and décor. All our guests commented that it was one of the best and most beautiful weddings they have attended. The outdoor ceremony space is right out of a fairytale and unfortunately for us hurricane Matthew rained on our outdoor ceremony plans but the staff at LTM was so professional and managed to set up the indoor backup plan in the blink of an eye and made it just as beautiful and special as if it had been outside. We can't thank LTM enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

Jackie, the owner, has such an eye for design and took all of my inspiration and made it come to life even more beautifully than I could have imagined. Multiple guests told us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and that is was so cozy & the perfect fall wedding. I want to relive the night over and over again and I can't wait to see everything through our pictures. We would highly recommend the Manor if you are looking for an \"all inclusive wedding weekend\" for your friends and family. The accommodations are top notch, the service unrivaled, and the food absolutely spectacular.

Where do we begin......The Lord Thompson Manor was way more than what we imagined for Meg and Chris's wedding in July!!! They wanted a venue that would provide a weekend experience, not just an event, and Jackie, Andrew, Chef Mike and the LTM team made this happen!!! Their extraordinary attentiveness, creativity, cuisine and support throughout the planning and during that weekend far exceeded our expectations!! From arranging the manis and pedis on Friday afternoon and helping with the rehearsal at the church to a wonderful seafood themed dinner (delicious hot lobster rolls!!!) followed by a welcome reception for our out of town guests. By the end of the evening, it was so nice to go upstairs (or to the Cottage) to the exquisite and comfy bedrooms. Saturday started with a delicious breakfast!! The girls relaxed at the Cottage getting hair and makeup done while the men took advantage of the billiard room and patio at the Manor. Having Jackie with us at the church to help with the last minute details, including fixing a flower or two, was such a relief. Meanwhile Andrew, Chef Mike, Ted, Kate and the rest of the LTM team were busy putting the final touches on the beautifully decorated Manor, setting up the outdoor games and last, but certainly not least, preparing the most delicious (and plentiful) appetizers and main course EVER!! To finish off the night , we relaxed by the fire pit singing along with Uncle Tim playing his guitar and enjoying hot dogs and s'mores! When we first met with Jackie, she told us that when we arrive Friday, all we would need to do is enjoy ourselves. They would take care of everything else and they did just that!! Thank you again for making their wedding weekend so unforgettable!!

The compliments my husband and I received after our wedding was that it was the most elegant and exceptional wedding our guests have ever been to. This venue is run by a husband and wife who really are the wedding power couple. From planning to decorating to even the food, they know how to perfect everything. Not only that but they have the most gentle and supportive personality to help you with every decision. All I can say is you will NOT be disappointed with this venue. Simply put, the Lord Thompson Manor knocked it out of the park! My husband and I were married at the Lord Thompson Manor in August 2016, and since then, not a day goes by that we don't talk about how amazing our wedding weekend was. It was truly the most unforgettable weekend of our lives. We cannot give enough credit and praise to the entire LTM staff for executing everything so flawlessly. In all honestly, there was not a single detail that was overlooked. This does not just refer to the wedding day - the attention to detail spanned from our early arrival on Thursday night to the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening all the way through to the send-off brunch on Sunday morning. Absolute perfection! That being said, we have to give a very special thanks to Kate, Chef Mike, Jackie, Andrew, and ESPECIALLY, Danielle & Ted! All members of the staff worked tirelessly with my husband and I to create the perfect menus, drinks, décor, and set the mood that truly makes weddings feel \"magical.\" Our guests are still raving about how our wedding was the best they've ever been to - from the food to the final send off!All in all, the thing that puts the Lord Thompson Manor in a league of its own in regard to wedding venues is the fact that they truly listen and care about what you want as a couple. Honestly, by the end of our amazing weekend, we felt like members of the LTM staff were like family - that is how special they made us feel. We just celebrated our anniversary recently and I was reminiscing about how wonderful our wedding weekend at the Manor was. After attending a friend's wedding there and then getting engaged ourselves, my husband and I knew immediately that we had to book our wedding at the Lord Thompson Manor. It's like no place else we had seen before. From the grounds, to the beautiful details in all of the rooms, the atmosphere throughout the entire venue is one of a kind. When the Manor staff learned that it was going to be a rainy day, they went above and beyond to make sure that we still had a gorgeous wedding. Jackie rearranged our centerpieces to accommodate more candles, which created an especially warm and cozy ambiance, despite the dark clouds outside. Our guests never even remember that there was a storm that day. Danielle, in particular, was a lifesaver. She took care of so many last minute details, and did it with a smile. We could not be more grateful for all of the work that went into creating such a special event.

Lord Thompson Manor is the venue for your wedding- no contest! The accommodations are beautiful and comfortable and the staff takes care of every detail. The food for our wedding was outstanding from Chef Mike! We had so many compliments about the food-honestly people couldn't stop talking about it and everyone had a different favorite. Jackie understood exactly what decor we wanted for our ceremony and reception and she created a look beyond our expectations! The flowers were the most gorgeous arrangements we have ever seen at a wedding. Andrew was so accommodating and even worked with us to develop our signature drinks and special ordered a certain beer for our rehearsal dinner. Our family and friends were raving about the LTM and the staff for months after our wedding was over. We have so many awesome memories from our time spent there and we are so happy we chose LTM for our wedding weekend. We highly recommend it to any couple looking for a romantic setting with top quality food and service.
