Lauren C.(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-06-2022 My husband and I got married at Los Willows this summer, and we were so happy with our choice. The main summary point is that we had the most wonderful, perfect day. The grounds are stunning and immaculately maintained. The staff was professional and kind. The ceremony space is magical, and no one could get over how beautiful it was. Tamra was our day-of-coordinator and wow does she know how to run an event. She made sure everything for the rehearsal the day before, and the wedding day itself, went as smoothly as possible. Our ceremony went longer than we had planned, so we were a little bit behind, but she calmly made sure that the schedule was adjusted accordingly and made everything happen. The only reason I did not leave a 5 star review was because of some of the logistical/financial things. There were a few points along the way where my husband and I felt that the people we met with were not as transparent as they should have been regarding added costs and fees. There are so many costs to consider, and I am sure this kind of thing happens everywhere, but I did want to mention it. Anyone who has planned a wedding knows that there are tons of costs. So even the smaller add-ons were things that we were paying attention to. One example: we decided to pay to add an extra hour, which was presented as a set fee, but once we had already sent out the invitations with the new time, we find out at our final meeting that that fee for the extra hour does not include the extra hour that the bar is open for drinks, even though no other costs are broken down like that (ie extra staff for the hour etc). At that point we had to just go with it. The other thing was that our final bill listed the meal costs as more than we had been quoted. We were told that the prices had increased, which was understandable, but we had just had an in person meeting less than a month prior where this increase in price was not mentioned. The financial office graciously settled that for us, and honored our quoted price, which we really appreciated. I hate to bring those examples up, because we had the most perfect wedding day we could have asked for, and that was all due to Los Willows, but at the same time some of the little financial details can add stress, so I wanted to mention it in the review. I would still choose Los Willows 1000x over, and can't thank them enough for our perfect day. Oh and also the DJ we were provided (George Washington) was amazing and really got the party started. The staff was very easy to work with and we loved all the decorations that they provided to give the perfect touch. Our guests couldnât stop gushing about how perfect the venue was and we couldnât agree more. Low Willows provided us the wedding we always dreamed of! Jennifer made our entire planning process so easy and made sure the day-of the wedding ran perfectly. She was a joy to work with and she answered all of our questions throughout the process and put our minds at easy every step of the way. We could tell right away that she was personally invested in making sure our wedding was perfect, as she always had the best solutions to any issue that arose and made sure that everything was customized to our liking. Jennifer was a huge reason that our wedding day turned out so well, and we can not thank her enough for all the hard work that she put into making sure our special day was everything we always wanted. Thank you, Michael for being our DJ/MC for our wedding! The reception area as well is indoor but one side is open so it's never too hot and stuffy. They have loads of decor and options to choose for to make your wedding perfect. Everyone I worked with was great, but mainly Tamra! She helped me through the process and i never felt like she was annoyed at me when I changed my mind 100 times! Vanessa Vouis(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-10-2021 My husband and I have taken much care in writing a detailed and honest review of our experience getting married at Los Willows. Unfortunately The Knot limits the amount we can write so to read the full review please go to the Wedding Wire. The review is titled \"Tread with Caution.\" If you are considering getting married at Los Willows, I urge you to read it and be fully informed of their practices before risking the most special day of your life. In short, the venue itself is beautiful, however their staff is rude, their coordinators are not at all equipped, they are dishonest and take no responsibility for their errors and do not honor their end of a contract, and the food portions are lacking. Ultimately, they are very expensive and highly motivated around revenue, not what is supposed to be the best day of your life. We spent the first 3 months of our married life emailing back and forth with Los Willows trying to make sure what happened to us never happens to another couple and also trying to understand why it happened to us at all. The venue took responsibility for one incident, but dismissed ALL our other claims and concerns, which believe me were many, with an âIâm sorry and thanks for letting us knowâ attitude. As hosts it is incredibly disheartening hearing that your guests were treated badly and that they left hungry or dissatisfied, and as the guests of honor, we felt so much was taken away from our special day. Our guests were blown away by everything, from the ceremony site to the food and beverage service. Our coordinator Stacy was seriously the greatest! She stayed on top of everything and kept everyone in their place. I absolutely loved her and her boss lady personality. Lynne and Victoria were also great to work with. We also used Los Willows preferred vendors for almost all of our outside vendors which was super great because they were all very familiar with the venue and well vetted by Los Willows. It made it really easy to weed through all the millions of vendors out there. Our photographers with True Photography made themselves at home and knew all the best locations for photos. Stephanie with Sweet Pea Floral Creations works really well with the venue and seriously knows how to bring the natural beauty of the venue to the next level. I also loved that Los Willows fit our budget and didnât try to price gouge us on everything. They gave us the freedom to have the type of wedding we wanted that was naturally beautiful enough where we didnât need to bring in too many outside vendors! ALEXIS JARDINE(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-10-2020 First, weâll point out the good stuff to be fair. The venue is gorgeous and well maintained as you see when you visit in person. It has great features and looks beautiful in photos. Also, the day of coordinator that the venue provided and event staff were fantastic and nice to work with. Our personal coordinator was impressed with them as well. The reasons we do not recommend this venue has nothing to do with how my wedding turned out in the end but everything to do with management, sales and ownership. First, it is very clear they are only in it for the money and really donât have a passion for the families they serve. With the unfortunate circumstances caused by COVID-19 this year, it was nobodyâs fault and yet Los Willows was unwilling to compromise and showed no compassion for us or our family. They wanted to make sure they werenât negatively impacted and all the hardship fell on us. After rescheduling twice already we said we would not reschedule again, since we just wanted to move on with our lives. However, even with the uncertainty on when they would be allowed to have events again, their manager Lynne insisted they would not cancel but only reschedule. I mean how many times can you expect someone to reschedule their wedding? In the end we were basically forced to have a wedding that we didnât even feel the health officials and government would approve. It was a fight to get the guest count under 100 because we didnât feel comfortable having that many and so many were coming from out of town and couldnât travel. So when it came down to finally having the wedding we ended up stuck paying for many people that werenât there, due to their greediness and unwillingness to compromise. Also, even though we were told we could use vendors to make up our guest count that did not end up being the case because they reneged on that offer. It was so unfortunate that a beautiful and memorable day had to be tainted by such bad experiences dealing with their office staff. In a time we should all be working together and trying to make a difficult time less stressful, Los Willows FAILED. Reviewed on 07-11-2020

We were also offered the Villa for the weekend to help ease the shock and pain to having to tell the bride!! That was so sweet!! Well, my daughter chose Los Willows. We had some date changes, as the venue was previously booked, but it all worked out!!!And here comes the second shutdown due to Covid...ughhhhh Now none of us know what's happening, just the waiting game...Again, I worked with Lynne and the crew at Los Willows and we all rode this ride together. We stuck it out and my daughter was married 10/4/2020 at Los Willows and it was spectacular!! We had to change numerous things due to Covid restrictions, but you know what, we had fun with it and made the best of it knowing we were getting married in this weird time. Louis Velarde(groom)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2020 My fiancee and I had a horrible experience with this venue. We were not able to have the wedding of our dreams that we contracted with Los Willows in September due to state law brought on by COVID. If that wasn't bad enough they feel like they have the right to keep over $14,000 of our money and the only thing we got in return was a tasting and one planning meeting. We offered to let them keep $1000 and ask for the rest back but they refused. We tried multiple times to work out a resolution that works for both of us but got nowhere. Before we signed with Los Willows back in May we made it clear that we could not move our date due to military deployment. We ended up receiving a letter from their lawyer to stop contacting them. So now we have to spend more money to hire a lawyer, switch we are doing as I type this, in order to get our money back. We strongly feel that this is in no way the right thing to do. Everyone is going through a hard time right now and it is sad that they feel ok with keeping an active duty military member's money. Reviewed on 25-08-2020

It is absolutely a stunning venue. Even our videographer day on the day of wedding, pulled out his drone something we didn't order, because it was just too beautiful of a venue to not get an areal view he said.Something that we loved about Los Willows, that made it standout compared to the local wineries, is that its not only a beautiful elegant outdoor venue, but that its a private venue. On your wedding its just you and your guest, no public wine tasters around, no rushing to setup after it closes to the public...all day its yours, all yours! There is so many breathtaking options to really make the whole day an amazing personalized experience. The groom got a special roadster entrance, the Bride and party, got to get ready in a little house remade into a bridal salon with salon chairs for hair and make up, a little kitchen area so you don't have a hangry bride! The meadows makes the ceremony feel like a remote destination in the middle of the woods. Then a private boat ride around the lake gave me and my new groom a little bit of private time to process everything. Then the all weather Tent, with A/C, beautiful decor, and really nice bathrooms (a must duh) and a killer dance floor for the reception celebration. The staff at Los Willows from start to finish are amazingly friendly and helpful! Liza got us hooked within the first minute. Alyssa was our wedding planner throughout the year leading up, and was my absolute favorite person to work with throughout the whole wedding process. She was so sweet, funny, responsive, helpful and organized.... just a pleasure! And then Amanda, our day of coordinate was on top of everything and made sure our day went so smooth, even me, and I was a little rebel against the normal wedding day flow.Once we signed on with Los Willows, the whole wedding process was so much easier. They had a great preferred vendor list, which we stuck to for the majority of vendors. We went with their suggested DJ, ProSounds (Alex and Craig were amazing) Craig totally understood our music vibe and crushed it, everyone was complimenting our dance music choices. Sweet Stems, a preferred Florist, killed it as well and made it sooo stemless for us hehe. Elegance on Display handled the dessert bar...and real tears were shed by a guest (an adult), who went to get some to find out all the desserts had been eaten. Andrea, the owner of Flawless and Unique, made my hair and make up choice SO easy to make. I never looked so beautiful in my life. Every step of the way, from emailing Julianne with questions and making payments with Rachel and even other office staff, my husband and I felt so warm and welcome. We received our wedding coordinator, Nancy, a couple of weeks before the wedding and she was also very helpful every step of the way and on the day of. Their banquet staff was cordial and they had a plethora of upgrade options to choose from. We ended up using their cake stand, wooden seating chart sign, as well as easels which all looked perfect with our vintage theme. Overall, we are very satisfied with how our wedding at Los Willows went. We just got our photos today and the moss lighting in the trees is literally to DIE for. I think the only hesitation we had with Los Willows originally was at the food tasting where the food was subpar. We were pleasantly surprised on the day of, however, because the food actually came out delicious. Our guests would also agree!!! Best day ever. Thanks, Los Willows! Reviewed on 14-02-2017
Brittany Soinski(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-11-2016 I will start by saying that overall, our event turned out beautiful. Thank you to the Los Willows team for pulling off a lovely event for us. Lynne and Nancy, thank you for your patience and willingness to work with us to make our day special. That said, there are a couple of things that I wish I had been aware of when we selected Los Willows for our wedding venue, and I want to make sure other brides are aware. Our biggest gripe was the food. I was so disappointed in how bad it was. We had a duet plate with filet and halibut, brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes. We heard many people talking at our wedding about how bad the food was which was a huge disappointment for us as good food was super important to us. Los Willows has their own caterer and their menu is extremely limited and outdated. The barware they offer in their packages is plastic- which has no place at an elegant wedding. In addition, there are strict rules at the bar- no neat drinks, no shots. There are also strict rules about food in the villa, bridal salon/suite, and grooms retreat. We were told multiple times that if we brought in so much as a granola bar we would forfeit our deposit. We opted to stay off-site and get ready off-site as these rules seemed so silly. We stayed at the Rancho Bernardo Inn (30 minutes away) and they were a dream to work with. Our stay was gorgeous and perfect and we brought in anything our hearts desired! The centerpieces, linens, and chairs that they offer are outdated and not in the best condition. If I could do it again I would choose probably choose another venue. Though our big-day was beautiful, it took a lot of work to elevate what Los Willows offers in their packages. Reviewed on 05-12-2016

Second, another big thank you to Allyson for making the days leading up to and including the wedding day as perfect as possible. She made it so we did not have to worry about anything and could fully enjoy our time with each other and our guests. Julianne and Allyson, along with the rest of the Los Willows staff, were not only professional, but friendly and kind to us through the entire process. Teri scholz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2016 Los Willows is spectacular! We chose Los Willows because my late mother went to a wedding there five years ago and insisted we check it out. From the first moment we walked in until the moment we left after our wedding, it could not have been more perfect for our amazing day. The grounds are immaculate and absolutely stunning. We also chose Los WIllows because it is private and only one wedding per day is held there. Now for the staff! Amazing! Liza, Julianne, Lynne, and Rachel were all great to work with. They kept us informed of every detail each step of the way and accommodated our every need. They recommended fantastic vendors who made our day that much more special. Then there is Kendra, our day-of wedding coordinator. She is a true professional and once everything was in her hands we did not have to worry about a thing. She made sure everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there. I can't say enough good things about her. DINAH LAGMAN(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-09-2017 My now husband and I got married at Los Willows on June 30, 2016. Before deciding on Los Willows, we looked at about 9 wedding venues spanning from Northern California (from Redwoods to San Francisco) and a few more places in the San Diego area. We picked Los Willows because of the price and the exclusivity that they only have 1 wedding for the day (unlike one other place in Fallbrook that had a great venue but could potentially have 2 weddings going on at the same time on separate sections of the venue). We had all of Los Willows to ourselves including the different themed sections they have (lake front, gazebo, 'forest' area, vineyard) which our photographer took advantage of. We also booked two nights at the villa and Bobbie was AMAZING! The 4 stars is because we had some small mishaps during planning (the initial 'preferred' vendor list I was given was a short list and only had 1 option for catering, cake and hair and makeup) but I asked if they have more vendors, they gave me more options. Also, my bridal entrance music did not start until I was already halfway down. I felt the coordinator could have communicated to the string quartet earlier that I was already walking down as they did have those 'walkie talkies' and saw them using it for other things. Other than that, the event ended well and that's what really matters. Reviewed on 08-07-2016

Thank you to Allyson Clark who was our day of wedding coordinator! She was professional and directed everybody to their correct places. cassie Guevara(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-06-2014 My husband and I were married at Los Willows a year ago. Itâs been a long time coming for this review because I wanted to give a fair review that accounts for everything.\r\rThe worst: \rMy husband and I dropped off was an item called the Forever Frame for Los Willows to set up. I left no instructions for how to set this up because there are pictures on the box that shows how itâs all meant to be. The sand from the sand ceremony is poured intro the frame and later another plastic part fits in over the poured sand so that a memento can be kept just floating above the sand. Los Willows did not remove the plastic meant to hold the keepsakes. So, when the sand was poured, I saw the sand settling on the wrong part of the frame and my heart just sank. I didnât know if it would hold the sand properly and worried that the memento my husband and I were supposed to keep for life just wouldnât last because that section is not meant to hold sand. This part still bothers me because now sand is starting to pour through the bottom and the plastic, because itâs not that strong, is bending inward on both sides. We could pour in new sand and fake it, but thatâs not the point. You donât get a do-over for that special moment. Iâm still a bit heartbroken about this one.\r\rLesser bads that donât really matter:\rWe had chosen to go with cupcakes for our big day. We confirmed banana cream cupcakes as a flavor but come the big day there was what I can imagine must have been boston cream pie cupcakes. Keep in mind, a mess up like this is only going to bother the people that knew about it. All of the cupcake flavors are yummy and your guests will not notice. The only drawback is, letâs face it, most brides are on diets until THAT day. I so craved a banana cream pie cupcake.\rThe brideâs boat entrance: Youâll hear about how beautiful the brideâs entrance was and then youâll hear moments later that the boat is slow. This is a lesser bad because I loved the experience. Plus I had âIâm on a boatâ playing in my head to get myself over my fear of falling in the water (you wonât fall, itâs a gentle ride and the boat aligns PERFECTLY with the pier).\r\rThe good: \rThe food: While you are obligated to go with their caterer, rest assured, it will still be awesome and guest will love it. Our vegetarian guests raved about the ravioli they had. They also worked with my husband who is an incredibly picky eater.\rThe grooms entrance: Youâll be hearing about the roadster entrance forever. Itâs a unique way for a groom to enter and always super exciting.\rThe groomâs room: Other venues we visited had grooms and groomsmen getting ready somewhere obscure. I really liked that Los Willows provided a space for my husband and his guys.\r\rThe great: \rKendra. She is Los Willowsâ greatest asset by far. She will manage your entire day and if there is any snag, she will catch it and I bet fix it before you have a chance to notice it. Sheâs super coordinated and really keeps it all moving.\rThe champagne cruise: right after your vows you get to catch your breath and take in the giant step you and your love just took. I loved it. It was definitely a high note to the whirlwind day.\rThe grounds: Los Willows takes excellent care of their grounds. If you want a place that feels like magic and doesnât just photograph well, this is it. Youâll also find come photo time that there are these hidden gems behind the main area that are really going to make for spectacular photos. Reviewed on 28-07-2015

Andrea Weaver(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-05-2014 Los Willows is an amazing venue, the grounds are stunning and all of our guests were wowed with it! The lake is a beautiful backdrop and the draping in the tent with the chandelier is gorgeous. The vendors they team up with (DaVine Catering for Food, and Elegance on Display for Cake) are great, the food/cake was delicious and I was really happy with everything. The only complaint is that I felt very nickeled and dimed by Los Willows. The patio furniture is ugly black metal and you have to pay to have it covered, and then they will only cover the tall tables and not the short and want more money to cover those as well. For how much you are paying you would think that they would throw in a few table cloths to cover the ugly furniture that I wouldn't even have in my own backyard. Also the appetizers are a little bare, I did the hummus and everyone said it tasted good but it was only hummus with bread, no veggies or chips to dip it in. It would be nice if they added in some other things to dip. I also had a few issues with communication, I scheduled a tasting with them showed up and was told it was actually with the caterer at a different location, something they never mentioned before, I scheduled an appointment for my details meeting and they made it for the week prior, I am an out of town bride who flew in for it, they made it work but it was a bit frustrating, and the cake provider was changed and no-one mentioned anything to me until I called to say they had a flavor wrong on my sheet and I was told someone new was doing it and that I would have to meet with someone new to go over the design and tasting (again for someone flying in, it was frustrating to have to continue to do things I had already done). Kendra is a great coordinator, but she had the last song played 10 minutes before we were scheduled to end and was very pushy about us getting in the getaway car instead of staying in to say goodbye to everyone. Everything was perfect and Stephanie still cannot stop talking about how she had her dream wedding. Everything was gorgeous and all the little details really made a difference such as the servers bringing the wedding party appetizers when we went to take pictures. The severs even took requests from the wedding party. The food was delicious and it is something that our guests constantly brought up after the wedding. Not only was it delicious but servings were plentiful. I don't believe anyone left hungry.Lastly we would like to give a huge thanks to Kendra, she is Superwoman! The day was so stress free because she was on top of everything. I quickly realized how little I had to worry about after the first few questions I asked her were answered with \"already taken care of.\" She was so organized and so good at keeping everyone sane. She really saved the day when Stephanie was panicking over her make up mishap just minutes before walking out. Everything we would forget she remembered. It's intimate, beautiful and there are lots of little things to add to the package that can offer intimate and meaningful touches to your special day. The Inn is charming, and the highlight of the wedding was booking the entire inn for my groom and I and our immediate family (siblings, parents, grandparents). We stayed up till 2am talking and woke up to a wonderful breakfast. Bobbi, the inn keeper is incredibly warm and friendly and catered to our every need and desire. I highly recommend booking the inn (or at least the B&G staying there) after the wedding.\r\rMy main disapointment about Los Willows is that at times I felt like I was just wedding #1,215. When I met with my wedding coordinator to discuss ideas and the plan, I felt as if she was in a hurry and was just getting through the questions she needed to ask. I realize that this is her wedding #1,215, but it is my first. I wished that the wedding coordinator would have been a bit more patience and curious about my questions, worries, and expectations. Or, at the very least, pretend that I was the first wedding she's ever done.\r\rIn the same vein, my other greatest disappointment about Los Willows was that they have a very specific standard way that they like to run things. While this is GREAT for the people that don't have, or don't care, about the way things are going, this can be very overwhelming for the folks that DO have a clear idea about how they would like the day to go. One example of this is during our cake cutting, the wedding coordinator was literally crouched down next to me, telling me exactly how to cut the cake. I had expected the moment to be my husband and mine, together as we figured out how to cut the cake. Instead, I was so worried about following the coordinator's directions that the cake cutting actually became the worst part of the whole day. I wish my coordinator would have told me in an earlier meeting the trick about cutting a wedding cake, and left us in peace while we were actually cutting it together.\r\rThese details, though small, added to my disappointment about this site. In summary, I would HIGHLY recommend this location, but I would be VERY clear with the coordinator about what you are expecting, what her role is the day of, how much control you want to have over your day. This is what I didn't know, that Los Willows' way of doing things is a force to be reckoned with. To deviate from their standard (and beautiful) way of doing things, in an attempt to make things more personal and intimate for you the couple, is challenging. Reviewed on 29-05-2011

We worked directly with Kendra, a coordinator here, and could not be happier. Kendra was professional, helpful, honest, very friendly, and organized. \rAt Los Willows they only do one wedding a day so you will never see another bride or groom on your day. They really make it feel like YOUR DAY. The grounds at Los Willows are very clean and well landscaped. The weather is perfect 90 percent of the time here. Our guests kept asking us \"How did you find a place like this? This is literally out of a fairytale!\" \rThe funny thing is that the day after the wedding we learned that some things actually DID go wrong during the day. A glass hurricane broke, one of our vendors was late, etc. and my husband and I had no idea because Los Willows just took care of all of it. They were so calm and while some things were not going as planned our Los Willows coordinator, Kendra, was still smiling. We did not have to worry about anything on the wedding day.\r\rOur pictures also turned out great because there are so many different settings here to get shots. Kelly Rogers(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-04-2006 The venue was absolutely breath-taking. It provided a beautiful backdrop for photos. The reception took place in a large tent that was lit up with twinkling lights. My guests loved it and many have told me that it was the most beautiful wedding they have attended!
