So happy we went with Lost Spur for our wedding reception venue! Geri was great to work with. Very detailed and incredibly responsive. I would give the wait staff 10 stars if I could. Many of my guest were so impressed with the service and food. The staff even tore down my table decor at the end of the night, which was incredibly nice of them, because that was the last thing I wanted to do. Highly, highly recommend Lost Spur! We recently had our wedding at the Lost Spur in Eagan and had a wonderful time. The venue surpassed our expectations in almost every way. We had some experience planning a wedding coming into this with a family member getting married last year. Our contact at The Lost Spur was Geri. She is fantastic and helped us iron out so many of the details. First off, she is very professional and understanding. Until you plan your own wedding you have no idea how many times details and head counts change. She worked us through it each time. She was also able to suggest other vendors and what to have before and after dinner to keep the guests happy. The venue food and space. Our wedding had about 125 people and we reserved the ballroom on the second floor. There was a ton of space for everyone to get around, and a large balcony outside for guests to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. Another advantage of this setup was guests were able to watch from above as we took some of our photos with the photographer. The venue has a large dance floor off to the side which allows flexibility in seating. We went into our food tasting with very low expectations. Because we live out of state, we only had a chance to schedule this during the holiday season which happens to be a very inconvenient time for the chef. It didn’t matter as Geri and the chef (I am really upset I am blanking on his name) made sure to find time for us to try the food. Most of the weddings we have been to the food is average and often served cold. During our tasting we knew one item would be the panko crusted walleye and were unsure of what else we wanted so we ordered 4 dishes. When we tried them, we ran into a big problem. They were all large portions and delicious! The chef came out to meet us and ask if we wanted to customize the dishes further or if the accompanying sides were sufficient. We selected the oven roasted chicken and a vegan option to with the fish option as plated dinners. We were still a bit skeptical about how it would turn out on the wedding day. Making 4 meals is a lot different than 125. On the wedding day the food was hot, plentiful, and equally delicious. We received so many compliments about the food. Guests wondered if they could come back to have the food on a regular basis. Parking and location. The Lost Spur was easy to get to and provided ample parking with hotels nearby. Overall, we started looking at the Lost Spur because it was budget friendly. After meeting the team and the chef we decided to on the venue. On the day of the wedding, we felt they went above and beyond our wildest imaginations. Thank you so much to The Lost Spur team for making our day wonderful. Reviewed on 27-05-2023

After a fire left us without a venue two weeks before our wedding, Geri, Chef Mike, and the rest of the team at Lost Spur took us in and made our wedding day even better than we had originally planned. Our guests had a fabulous time, and we heard lots of compliments about the food. We especially enjoyed taking photos out on the golf course- it was a special moment in the midst of an amazing day. Charles Ganzhorn(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2018 We just had our wedding reception here. Our guests raved. The food was excellent: very tasty and generous portions. We had to move our reception here suddenly. Our guests had already made their menu selections. One of the items wasn't on their normal catering menu. Chef Mike looked at the description of the entree and, no offense to our original venue, created something that surpassed the original offering. The view's, especially as you near sundown, are spectacular. Great for pictures and just hanging out on the deck. The ballroom was beautiful.Geri and Chef Mike were aces. They communicated thoroughly and clearly through the planning process. On the night of the event, I didn't have to give *any* thought to anything but enjoying the night. From my point of view, the actual execution of the event was on autopilot.I don't often have reason to rent a hall but now I'm motivated to have another event just so I can wow my guests again. Andrea Christie(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2011 The only reason I can't give Lost Spur 5 stars is for 2 reasons. 1 they ran out of pork so some of the people had to eat chicken that had ordered the pork and also the girls bathroom flooded (which i guess was a common problem). Other then that Gerri was great to work with, the venue was beautiful and we had a great time at our wedding. They did tear down the building that our reception was in 2 days later because the new building was ready. Heard the new building is amazing! I would recommend Lost Spur to anyone. Reviewed on 27-08-2011
cassie booth(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-08-2011 The Lost Spur just built a new building and it could not be more gorgeous! The food was amazing, and we received lots of compliments on it! Geri did a great job of just taking over. It was nice to be able to drop off my stuff and she knew exactly what to do. With any wedding there were a few hiccups. I had requested dinner served at 6pm and at 7:10pm, dinner still hadn't started being served yet. Also, there is a wedding/event space downstairs and this did cause a few issues with the bar and their guests coming up. Otherwise, I feel very lucky to have such a great coordinator and space to have our special day! It was beautiful! Reviewed on 23-08-2011
Maggie Minge(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2010 I would recommend ANYONE with a small to medium sized wedding to use the Lost Spur as their venue! The food was delicious (we received many compliments on it from our guests!) and affordable. My husband is lactose intolerant and they were able to work with us to modify one of the entrees so that he would be able to eat it. They were so helpful through the whole planning process and were friendly and helpful the whole night. We didn't need to worry about cleaning up everything--they did it all for us and put it all in boxes for us to pick up the next day! My husband and I and our families were so grateful. Another review said the dancefloor was really small, and I agree that is one of the downfalls of the venue. There was plenty of room for our guests though. I also liked how there were places to sit and have a drink where it was quieter to have a conversation. A lot of our older guests and non-dancers enjoyed that. I would recommend the Lost Spur a million times over to anyone looking to host their wedding there! You will not be disappointed!!! Reviewed on 28-09-2010
