I will start with the good things. The venue is beautiful and fits quite a large number of people comfortably. It is an easy 1 stop shop as linens, caterer, and bar are all in 1. The food is pretty good as well and the wait staff was nice. Now the negatives. I was told since there was an event the day before that the building “can be opened at any time” the day of so that I could drop of decor and my wedding cake. It was agreed upon 9 am. The day of comes and it is not opened. I was told they don’t normally open until an hour before. How can vendors barely deliver and decorate an hour before. My family waited outside for 2 hours and due to the humidity and heat my cake was destroyed. When someone did arrive to let the kitchen staff in they ignored my family and would not let them in. It took multiple phone calls from me to get results. Not something I should’ve had to deal with on my wedding day. They also lost my cake topper and never told me about the bridal suite. I had to tell them several times in the planning process that the ceremony was somewhere else and that it was only for the reception. They lost the original timeline we sat down and discussed as well. It was agreed I would hire the officer due to the serving of alcohol then they began to ask the officer to direct traffic outside. The officer was hired because of the bar not to direct traffic; which was not discussed previously. I would’ve hired another officer to direct traffic had they discussed that with me. Their systems are antiquated and leave too much room for human error. There were 2 separate occasions where they “lost” my payments and I had to provide proof of payment. I was very disappointed and was completely destroyed to see my wedding cake in salvageable. This is absolutely not a venue for a DIY bride.

Absolutely loved our venue from start to finish. Planning was so easy and they were so flexible. We received so so many compliments on how beautiful, romantic and intimate our venue was. It really made our night perfect!

Their website is practically empty - but that's understandable since they're a small venue. I sent a very detailed email to them asking about pricing, inclusions, restrictions, capacity and provided an example of what I wanted for my wedding, i.e. guest count, ideal date/day, type of event, etc. I got an email back that basically just said 'here's the link to our menu and prices' - no signature, no greeting, no answers to my questions. I find that incredibly rude and unprofessional, ESPECIALLY because the link provided just takes me back to the exact same practically empty page (no menus listed, no prices listed - just a contact form) that I'd used to get in touch the first time.

They helped in everyway possible. I was so pleased with the service, setup, and the food. They treated us like family!\r\rWe still have people asking us about the location and the food. It was everything we could have asked for at our wedding.

The venue was Beautiful, we received a lot of compliments. Gonzalo was very helpful throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend this venue!

We had our reception at this venue and it was perfect! The owner has a restaurant that provides the catering, which I was unsure about at first but the food is amazing, the service is amazing and they are flexible with whatever wedding vision you have!

The catering and owner was all very excellent. I loved the new back patio and gazebo that we used for our ceremony. The wait staff was a little rude and we felt like they were rushing us out.

This venue is really sweet. Its not for a big wedding. I didn't like that the head table was so far from the the guests. Anyway, other than that the dance floor was big, but It was kind of removed from the tables where we were sitting.

The contact person for the reception venue was excellent! Her name is Shelley Koch. She was with us every step of the way. The ambience was so different from every other place we visited. It really was perfect for us. And the dance floor was amazing.;Near the dance floor there is a support beam that blocks the view but not by much. We didn't really mind it.

Gonzalo Pozo (Owner) Gonzalo Pozo was born in Bolivia and came to Texas to attend Texas A & M University in College Station where he graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He lived in Houston where he worked in the oil industry until it was economically affected. He then look worked in the service industry. Gonzalo moved his family to San Antonio where he worked at five star hotels before opening Picante Grill Restaurant 20 years ago. Gonzalo then expanded his business to catering and opened two event venues the Magnolia Gardens and Hacienda Santa Maria. Gonzalo is very involved in both venues.
