Main Street Abbey is a beautiful wedding venue located in Columbia, IL. The abbey, constructed in 1866, has been a staple on Historic Main Street for more than 130 years. After careful reconstruction, it now operates as a premier event space that merges nostalgic history and modern innovation. Located just minutes from downtown St. Louis, this unique venue will wow your guests from the moment they step foot through the doors. With striking arched ceilings and original stained glass windows, it is a space designed for an occasion as momentous as your wedding day. You can host both your ceremony and reception in this light-drenched space. Its white walls and hardwood floor make it versatile yet chic, easily customizable to suit any event design. An attached terrace provides a beautiful outdoor site for a cocktail hour or a quiet moment during the event. A getting-ready suite is also available for the wedding party's use that features vanities, mirrors, a full bathroom, and a kitchen. This stunning venue can accommodate up to 220 guests for an unforgettable celebration. The Main Street Abbey team aims to provide everything you need to host the wedding of your dreams. After an initial consultation, one of their dedicated event managers will work with you to develop a bespoke design tailored to your specifications. They'll point you in the direction of the best local vendors and assist with any queries or concerns you may have regarding the planning of your celebration. On the day of your wedding, you are invited to customize the uplighting, bring in florals and other decor items, and use the sound system throughout your celebration.

Main Street Abbey was absolutely the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we toured the venue, we absolutely fell in love. Our team was always available to answer any questions we had and made the day of such a breeze. When they heard that our rehearsal dinner restaurant unexpected closed, they offered us the terrace space and even prepared a meal for us. Having the bridal suite to get ready in was fantastic and the outside terrace was perfect for our cocktail hour. All of the staff we worked with was excellent and our day-of-coordinator (Erica, I think?) was amazing at keeping me informed without adding any additional stress. I cannot recommend this venue enough.

Main Street Abbey was absolutely the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we toured the venue, we absolutely fell in love. The venue was perfect for our wedding! We loved the Main Street abbey and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting it. The staff was so helpful and amazing, especially our event coordinators Brook and Eric. They worked to make our day amazing and stress free!

The Main Street Abbey is a stunning venue, they have done a beautiful job renovating the old ICS church into a wedding space that will soon have a restaurant and hotel rooms, bringing an wonderful attraction to small-town Columbia; but I do have to say that the communication with our Event Coordinator and Event Manager could have been better. I felt that my bridal party and I were pretty thorough in our communication but there were various details that were missed, especially during the set up for the reception to name one. I did create a main detail binder and passed that along to our Event Coordinator to use for the set up of the reception as well as my bridal party because I knew they weren't going to remember all of the details that I had told them. I was later told by my MOH that the binder couldn't be found and was never used, which could have eliminated a lot of the headache my bridesmaids had to go through with that reception set up. When you spend that kind of money for a wedding, you expect communication. Overall, it was a magical day at a beautiful venue, but the experience would've been better with communication and quicker assistance from our Event Coordinator.

The venue was perfect for our wedding. It is a beautiful venue. Brooke and Erica were great to work with throughout the process from booking until the day of the wedding. They made the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception flow seamlessly. Several of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was that night.

The Abbey was an absolute perfect venue for our wedding and ceremony! The staff were all great with answering questions quickly and efficiently as we prepared for our big day. The day of went smoothly as we transitioned between the ceremony and reception. The layout was absolutely perfect for our event, and not to mention, the space is beautiful. We enjoyed the bridal suite and groom's quarters as we prepared for the day, and the spaces are decorated so cute. The venue is stunning. The extra bridal suite was a great place to get ready. My only issue was a struggle with communication with the team sometimes. We would have meetings and they would send me info that I felt didn’t reflect what I had said at all. But all in all I would hire them again.

Main Street Abbey is just gorgeous! I am so glad we chose the venue for our wedding. The booking process was very smooth. The day of the wedding did not disappoint. It’s so beautiful and all the people…just amazing! From bartenders to those helping bus tables, and everyone in between, best service! They helped us pick up at the end of the night. They made sure we had the plates from our cake because we had to return them to the caterer. They were very attentive to all the little details and did not hesitate to help with anything, not just when asked. They offered. I was so grateful when I was exhausted at the end of the night and they just pulled everything together for us to get home. They definitely went above and beyond!

I had a vision for how I wanted my wedding ceremony to look, and Main Street Abbey COMPLETELY surpassed my expectations. Let me just say, the girls that work at Main Street Abbey are AMAZING!! From Candace, sales, helping us tour the venue multiple times, answering all of our questions, being quick to respond to emails, and just being patient with me :). Abbey, our day of coordinator, was such a sweet, go with the flow person! She made sure she had every detail written down and made sure it was pulled off at our wedding! I honestly could not recommend a more professional staff! The venue!!! Jaw dropping! It was the first place of like 5-10 venues we saw and kept going back to them. The church space was so special to me. The cocktail hour space was impeccable, as well. We had 240 guest and I was worried they weren't all going to fit in there but there was no problem at all! They now have a brand new bridal suite that us girls got ready in. Very nice! You cannot go wrong with Main Street Abbey! I hope to get invited to a wedding there in the near future :)

Long story short, we ended up with a small outdoor ceremony and we moved our reception to oct 2021, almost exactly 1 year after our ceremony. I cannot say thank you enough to Main Street Abbey and especially to Candace for making an almost impossible event, possible! She was always there to answer questions at the most uncertain times! The venue is gorgeous, and all of the staff was amazing!

Before booking Main Street Abbey for my own wedding, I had worked with the ladies here numerous times as a vendor and knew I was in good hands. As a bride though, I learned just how attentive and amazing they truly were. From the get go, Candace and Rachel were so attentive to my questions and made the whole process easy - even through Covid. Then I met Abbey and she was a delight and worked with all my vendors and me to make sure my husband and I had the perfect Halloween wedding for our friends and family. She patiently waited for me to pick my lighting colors quite a few times and kept up with my last minute schedule changes and additions (like a surprise zombie flash mob).My only recommendation for bride's getting married at MSA is consider turning on the lantern chandeliers for the dinner portion of the reception if you are doing darker uplighting. Definitely turn them off for dancing because nothing gives people more confidence when dancing like mood lighting!

We had our wedding at the Abbey over the weekend and I am beyond amazed at this venue and staff. Rachel was a dream to work with! She is very responsive, very helpful, and has an eye for detail. Everything was absolutely perfect. The day went by so smoothly, zero stress, and most importantly everything was EXACTLY what I dreamed my wedding would be. This venue is jaw dropping when you go in, but then add the brides vision and the abbey team, and it is seriously the most stunning venue. I can not stress how amazing our wedding was because of this venue and staff.

While flipping was the job of the caterers, it was the coordinator's job to make sure everything ran smoothly (which it did not). Surely this was a fluke and won't happen to you, but is definitely something worth clarifying and discussing beforehand to avoid what we encountered. I would not let this take away from choosing this venue. The price for rental is amazing - be aware that they do require you to use their alcohol package, which is where the price for the venue increases significantly. Definitely well worth it though. I would 1000% book here again and wish I could go back and relive our wedding!

Candace and Abbey were an absolute dream to work with. They were so patient and kind through the rescheduling due to covid and no question was too big or too small. They were both extremely knowledgeable and willing to help in any way they could. They responded back quickly and were always professional and so so sweet! It was also absolutely spectacular to have a gorgeous bridal suite to get ready the morning of the big day. The suite comfortably fits 12 women, two make-up artists, and one hairdresser. It was such a relief to be able to be at the same location all day, getting ready, pictures, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. After the ceremony/reception we received so many compliments about how beautiful the church was, the ease of transitioning to the amazing outdoor covered bar area, and all the staff being so kind! Huge thank you's to the Main Street Abbey for everything! Couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else! :)

Main Street Abbey is the BEST! Our day was perfect with their help! First - the venue is absolutely stunning. We loved the ceremony/reception/cocktail hour combo all being in the same site and so did our guests! Second - Candace, our day of coordinator is a gem! She made sure everything was perfect and took care of any minor hiccup that happened that day. Before our day, her communication with all our questions was quick and informative. She was always willing to help where needed. We got so many compliments on how beautiful our day was and the Abbey had a large part in that! I can't recommend the Abbey & its team enough!

I can’t recommend this venue enough!! Candance did such an amazing job helping us prepare for months leading up to the wedding and on the day of she coordinated everything perfectly and was always very calm (even when we were a bit stressed). We originally scheduled our wedding the fall of 2020 and had to push back our big reception an entire year because of COVID. Candace was so kind and professional as we worked through the details of pushing back the wedding and she was able to answer every question we had to put us at ease. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and every one of our guests was impressed by the indoor space and the outdoor terrace. Our caterer (Russo’s Catering) was also incredible to work with and since they are a preferred caterer for the venue, they took care of every detail with ease. I will be recommending Main Street Abbey to all my friends so hopefully I can attend another wedding here! It is worth every penny and is the absolute perfect wedding venue.

What an amazing venue!! Candace is so amazing at communications. Dealing with a wedding and brides during corona cannot have been easy but this Queen handled it like a boss! Before the pandemic, Candace made sure to touch base to see how things were progressing, giving us advice and recommendations as we initially started the long planning phase. As everything went crazy, Candace was once again staying in touch, helping us navigate an endlessly-changing, dynamic situation. When we had problems - I mean potential event-canceling problems (thanks COVID-19) - Candace worked with us to make sure everything stayed on track. We could not have celebrated our wedding without her enduring support.Additionally, the Main Street Abbey is an absolutely gorgeous space - the high vaulted ceiling and arches, the magnificent stone structure, and the splendid terrace are all picture-perfect locations. We booked Main Street Abbey as our reception venue as soon as we saw it without visiting any other venues. Our photographers also loved every angle of it and the pictures we got were beautiful. The venue seriously speaks for itself.

I was lucky enough to be able to have my ceremony at this beautiful venue! It was everything I could have ever imagined, plus more! I had encounters with many of the wonderful ladies at The Abbey. Rachel, Candace, and Camille were so very helpful throughout this whole experience. I first met with Rachel and Candace and they were just so sweet, they answered any questions I had, and I had a lot. I felt very comfortable with them and never had any worries about my special day, I literally had not one worry. Whenever I sent an email I always got a reply back that very day, this is something that I truly appreciated. I was then assigned Camille as my event manager, I am so grateful for everything she did for me and for my special day. She was so great to work with, I met with her before the wedding and she was so easy to talk to and very helpful with ideas as to how the ceremony should go. When I say I did not worry once about the ceremony, I seriously did not worry. I felt so comfortable with Camille, she wrote every since detail down that I wanted for my wedding day and she delivered. I could not have been more pleased with anything, it seriously went so well.I would recommend this wedding venue to anyone looking for an elegant and breathtaking wedding. They are so easy to work with, are willing to work with whatever vision you have, and are hands down the nicest and most amazing people to work with. I fell in love with this venue the moment I walked inside. It is absolutely beautiful! Having the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception all in one place made things flow so smoothly. Candace's communication was great from the beginning and Camille did not disappoint setting up last minute details. I received so many compliments from friends and family. I highly recommend Main Street Abbey for your ceremony and/or reception!

We recently had our wedding at Main Street Abbey and we haven’t stopped gushing over it since. We heard so many positives from our guests the night of our wedding, as well as since. I can’t say enough about how perfect our day was at Main Street Abbey. It’s not only gorgeous on its own, but the staff made sure everything went smoothly with transitioning the room from ceremony to reception. I did not have a worry in the world on our day and that’s how it should be! Candace was easy to work with, let my drop off all of the decorations/stuff need for our day the week of the wedding! She makes sure you are comfortable with the whole planning process. If you’re looking for a beautiful, warm, wonderful place for your wedding in the STL are, I highly recommend the Abbey. The small town of Colombia boosts its charm too! No worrying about your guests safety with parking and getting to the venue. It was the best day and we will always recommend this place!

We cannot say enough good things about our wedding experience at the Main Street Abbey! The venue is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We knew as soon as we walked in for the tour that this was where we wanted to get married. The convenience of having the ceremony and reception at the same location can’t be beat. It rained on our wedding day but that was not a problem with the terrace only a few steps away for the cocktail hour. And the bridal suite and balcony were such great spaces for us getting ready. Camille is truly a God send. She was so sweet and was so easy to work with and get in touch with. She met with us several times and wasbeyond helpful with any requests we had. She went above and beyond and made sure the evening was completely stress free and perfect for us. We are so grateful for her part in our wedding!

I couldn’t have asked for a better venue/staff to help make our wedding reception vision a reality. We had the best day in thanks to their attention to detail in the prep work/communication with my vendors. They were extremely accommodating and always had an answer for every question. I had high expectations for the day and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Rachel kept the timeline of the evening moving seamlessly and as someone who works with timelines/expectations in my career I really appreciated not feeling like I had to work my own wedding. If you want a venue that will make all your dreams come true, Main Street Abbey is that venue! We got married there this weekend and it was amazing! Camille, our event planner, made sure everything went super smooth and made sure that we were always okay! We love her!! Words cannot express how happy I am that we decided to get married here! I had so many compliments on how gorgeous of a venue it was and how the staff (MSA and Russo’s Catering) were the best they had ever seen! We Loved the venue. Absolutely beautiful and I cannot say enough about how amazing it was to work with Dustin and his team. He is a true professional at his job. The wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. Every detail was executed flawlessly and It was truly unforgettable. The bridal and groom suites were wonderful. The transition from wedding to reception was done quickly and with ease . Great service from staff during reception. We have received so many compliments about the wedding day, and I just smile because I loved every detail of Trisha and Scott’s special day.

I could not imagine having had our wedding somewhere other than the Main Street Abbey. The location, the beauty, where do I begin? When we first toured we took a huge risk because we did not know how beautiful it would end up looking because the floors were not even in, but we trusted in the staffs vision. Every time I show people pictures of our wedding they are just done they could not believe how gorgeous the Abbey is. And the staff ! They’re so helpful and accommodating. One of the ushers told me because I was obviously busy with pictures that Rachel was incredibly helpful with the flip process which is what we were most nervous about. It went so smoothly. Cannot suggest enough!!!
