Mapleside Farms is a charming and picturesque wedding venue that offers three distinct spaces to host your special day: the Barn, the Lodge, and the Waterfall. Located amidst the breathtaking countryside, this venue provides a romantic and rustic ambiance that will leave a lasting impression on you and your guests.
The Barn
The Barn at Mapleside Farms is a timeless and classic choice for couples seeking an authentic country wedding experience. With its warm wooden interiors, exposed beams, and a grand chandelier and a deck overlooking the apple orchard, the Barn exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere. This space can accommodate a large number of guests and provides a perfect backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions. Whether you envision an elegant affair or a more casual celebration, the Barn can be transformed to suit your style and preferences.
The Lodge
For couples seeking a more intimate setting, the Lodge at Mapleside Farms offers a charming and secluded space. Its rustic elegance features a grand fireplace and an enchanting setting for smaller weddings or intimate gatherings. The bar, enhanced by the upside-down apple tree light fixture, is a focal point of the Lodge.
The Waterfall
One of the unique highlights of Mapleside Farms is The Waterfall - an open Pavilion for your special day. This picturesque outdoor space is an idyllic location for outdoor ceremonies, providing a natural and romantic backdrop. The amphitheater style ceremony site offers your guests an unobstructed view with the apple orchard in the background.

Truly a unique venue. We had our wedding in the barn and it was AMAZING. All the modern amenities but still retained the rustic charm we were looking for. The view of the sunset from the deck must be experienced rather than explained. I've seen the sunset at Mapleside before, but on this day, it was a beautiful storybook ending to a perfect day. Jane Doe(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-04-2022 This was my #1 pick for a venue when we started looking. I was so excited to go see the place and I truly thought this is THE ONE! I called and talked to Pam to schedule a visit. She asked me my budget for catering and she basically told me that it wasn't doable, but never explained why. I scheduled my tour and an the morning of, I got a message on Google calendar that said family emergency and canceled for the day. I'm very busy so I was disappointed , but things happen. She reached out to me the following week to reschedule and asked me the same questions we already discussed and once again, made me feel like I'm too poor to have my wedding there due to catering. When we calculated it out, it looked like we could afford it. She asked me when we could meet up and it just happened that every date I said, she couldn't meet those days. Only time she had was in the middle of the day during the week. We were constantly going back and forth and I felt as if my business wasn't wanted there and I was being pushed out. I never emailed back and she didn't even try to follow up to see if I was still interested. I'm really disappointed because if I knew why I \"couldn't afford it,\" I could've adjusted my budget to make it work. Maybe I'm crazy, but we are only inviting 125 people (honestly it will probably be closer to 75-80) but $7000-$8000 wasn't enough. š¤·āāļø Reviewed on 08-04-2022

Sarah Bryk(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 Iāve been drafting this review throughout an entire year of planning a wedding at Mapleside Farms Barn. I want the consumer to ultimately understand exactly what they are getting into, as planning a wedding effectively took up a year of my life. This review is written after many drafts and contemplation. NOTE: This review is for MAPLESIDE FARMS BARN, not A Taste of Excellence. I will leave them a separate, outstanding review. Mapleside Farms BARNSummary: This barn stands on property that has been maintained as an apple orchard and working farm for a century. The owners have very vividly changed hands within the past few years and after many changes and expansions, a beautiful barn venue was built within the last 5 years. What you have here is a stunning, gorgeous, jaw dropping barn venue atop a sweeping, beautiful setting that is run by new, greedy, absent and insensitive people. It is a cash cow for them and nothing else.Pros: This is THE best barn venue in northeast Ohio. I looked at them all. The only runner up was Rivercrest Farm in Dover, Ohio. I highly recommend looking at Rivercrest if you find Mapleside too difficult. Mapleside is new, spotless, romantic, charming, rustic, warm and facing the best view youāll ever find for a wedding in the Cleveland area. Our guests were completely in awe and are still saying that it was the most amazing venue. Did I mention it poured rain all day at our wedding and we could not go outside once? Thatās how beautiful it is. Rainy wedding was still a success. Choose Mapleside if your #1 priority above all else is beauty and romance. Cons: As a reflection of the new owners disinterest in their cash cow of a barn, they hand off 100% of the barn management responsibly to a catering company. While I thought the catering company was the best in Cleveland, they are still... a catering company. They are not barn managers. And while they may scoff at this statement, they know what Iām talking about. As the consumer, you are FORCED to speak to the caterers with every single barn question, which does not always go smoothly. In fact, the barn managers and owners with not only ignore you if you try to contact them, but they will ātell on youā to the catering company and you will have to receive an awkward call from the caterers that makes you feel small and intimidated. It is a very childish, selfish, greedy, disgusting way to run a business. But when you have the corner on the market for barns in Cleveland, why should you have to be kind? Buyer beware that this is the situation. The product of dealing with the caterers with questions in regard to a farm with multiple festivals, concerts, fairs, thousands of families and kids, tons of noise, etc. is that you have to work HARD to get all the info. Example: I visited the barn ½ dozen times before booking it to observe the farm at ceremony time. I witnessed a stalled wedding b/c the bride was too upset to come out because of all the farm noise interfering with her wedding. The security guards told me that she had not been informed of all the farm elements that could be loud during her ceremony. So, I still booked the barn but spent a year (yes, a year) sending follow-up emails to a million people to ensure that would not happen to me.All in all, we loved our wedding at the Barn. But because of bad farm management, days and days and days of my time were taken up all year over email and phone and this venue became a full time job. Reviewed on 10-11-2018
Maria McConnell(parent)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2018 My daughter's wedding was in September at Mapleside Farms. The positive aspects of this venue included a beautiful view of the apple orchard which made for a romantic setting. A Taste of Excellence's (the exclusive caterer for Mapleside) dinner choices that we selected were truly excellent. The catering staff was extremely attentive to our needs during the reception. The biggest negative was communication. Karen (from ATE) was our contact for both the venue and the caterer. Her communication quite often was abrupt and at times it felt like we were being rushed through our questions/concerns. We booked this venue about 11 months out. Never once were we told that September and October are big festival months at Mapleside. Imagine our surprise when about 3 weeks before our wedding we read about the Johnny Appleseed Festival that was being held that same weekend and drew 20,000 festival goers the year before. This proved to be a logistical headache that we had to work through with the coach we arranged as transportation for the bridal party and our out of town guests. Then, after a requested final walk through we saw a huge 2-3 story slide had been set up close to where my daughter's ceremony would be taking place. I asked Karen if we could have the slide shut down for the ceremony which was only about 30-45 minutes. When we arrived on wedding day Karen told us that security would shut the slide down for the ceremony. Relief? Wrong! Not only did our guests sitting on the left side get to hear the screams from the festival goers going down the slide since it remained open, those sitting on the right side got to hear the very loud music from the other wedding that was taking place at the same time. We were in the Lodge and they were in the Barn so we were right in the middle. It seems that Mapleside is trying to attract as many different groups as they can to maximize their revenue but are failing to be attentive to each of their needs. We did not think asking for the slide to be shut down for our ceremony was an unreasonable request. We also sent the owners a message about our experience and have yet to hear back from them. Is this a sign that they don't really care since there are no do-overs with a wedding? Reviewed on 20-10-2018
Kelsey Clark(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2018 The Good:The venue was BEAUTIFUL. The ceremony overlooked the apple orchard, and the reception venue was clean exactly what we were looking for.The Bad:Communication with this vendor is the worst. Because the caterer is your main contact for venue information, we had to *try* to communicate with them for majority of the planning.I say TRY because the venue coordinator we originally had (who also happens to be the VP of this catering company) could not care less about us. I would email him up to 3 or 4 times the exact same email without a response for a couple weeks. He neglected to tell us that there was a festival happening the day of our event. During our final walk through, he didnāt know any information about our wedding. He conveniently couldnāt find any of the emails I had sent them (probably around 30 at this point)⦠I honestly donāt think he knew my name because of the lack of information he knew. I sent him my wedding day timeline about a week or 2 before the final walk-through and he was the only vendor not to reply to it, so it probably was not read⦠and he was 10 minutes late to our final walk-through ā the catering office is 2 miles down the road from the ceremony/reception site ā VERY UNACCEPTABLE. There is absolutely no reason not to show up to a meeting on time.Additionally, during our rehearsal, all he did was stand against the fence on his phone. He didnāt introduce himself, he didnāt tell us any information ā he did absolutely nothing. At that point, he might has well have not been there. The communication and frustration was so terrible with the venue coordinator that we had to ask for a new coordinator the week of our wedding.THEN IN WALKS KAREN:Karen was our new venue coordinator. She was amazing. She did all the work that the old coordinator lacked and actually communicated the information that needed to be done. Karen even apologized for all the shortcomings that our original coordinator had.The day of the wedding, she was very attentive and made sure that everything was running smoothly. I canāt even explain how nice it was to have her there! TL;DR: do not hire this company unless you have Karen, the angel sent venue coordinator. Reviewed on 03-10-2018

Erin Stricker(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-08-2017 The site is absolutely breathtaking, which is why my husband and I decided to get married there. I could never say otherwise, however there are things that everyone needs to consider if you want to book there. The \"event coordinator\" does not actually coordinate the event so much as the food and the set up of the tables. If you get married there, I strongly encourage a booking of a wedding planner there. A Taste of Excellence is the exclusive caterer, and the event coordinator is one of their staff. Mapleside Farms does not talk to clients, TOA talks to you only. The communication form TOA staff is less than amazing. I had one appointment that the staff arrived at 45 min late and he did not call me or alert me at all. They also told us about two months from the wedding that we would have to have a rehearsal on Thursday or during the day on Friday. Thankfully, after we complained at how unfair and unprofessional this was that no one let us know, the rehearsal was able to go on at 4 on Friday. It's my opinion that an \"event coordinator\" would be in communication about such a detail long before a 2 mo mark before a wedding, but they are really just caterers. I also think that we were often treated as dollar signs versus people setting up one of the biggest days of their lives. Would I do it again? Maybe not, but the views are still amazing. Just have to weigh what's important to you in a site. Reviewed on 26-09-2017

It is in a jaw dropping gorgeous location, with a beautiful (air-conditioned!) barn. I was in love with the venue from the first time I saw it, and it kept improving from there! Samantha Allegier(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2017 We loved Mapleside! We rented the Lodge for our June wedding and was very impressed with the look and feel of the site. They do have two weddings that occur on site usually, the Barn and the Lodge can both have a wedding in it. I recommend displaying a sign at your site saying \"the wedding of your name\" so guests don't get confused. they have the ceremonies at different times so that they both aren't being interrupted by the other. The sunset and view make for some amazing pictures. During the summer they have concerts on Friday nights so you will have to have your rehearsal on Friday night around the tents and small food tents but it works. My guests loved the look of the place and couldn't stop raving about the view. All in all my husband and I had a great experience with Mapleside and would have another event their anytime. Allie Beaton(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-10-2019 Listing the Lodge as 'affordable' is fair. Listing the Barn as 'moderate' is completely laughable. I've never experienced being nickel and dimed so much in my life. The number of additional fees piled up quickly and became astronomical. An extra $16 per guest for a chair and a place setting was the cherry on top. Not to mention our event coordinator showed up 15 minutes late with no apology. We also liked the look of the Lodge so we wanted to consider both. I set an appointment through the Knot the tour the venue. Karen from Taste of Excellence emailed me directly saying she was available on date x at time y. I replied directly to her email and said I was confirming firm date x at time y. She replied and said perfect! We went at the scheduled date and time and she never showed up. Someone that worked there had to call her and she said that she never got my confirmation. I thought I must have been going crazy, but I double checked my email and it was there just as I had remembered it. If she had forgotten or double booked, I would have understood if she just apologized to me. We are going to pass on this venue as I cannot trust someone with my wedding who so obviously lies to me. We also felt that the Lodge fit no where near as many people as it said it did. I felt like it would have been crammed with 100 guests. Reviewed on 08-01-2017
Melissa Rhodes(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2017 I could not wait to visit Mapleside when I became engaged. But instantly when we were there visiting the event coordinator lady was rude and disrespectful. She showed us the new barn which was having a wedding in two days and wasn't even ready. She then said she could possibly get us under a 100 a plate and when I told her our budget was 15,000 she flat out said \"oh no, you can't afford to have your wedding here\" and suggested that we have a cookout for our reception. You can have a beautiful barn wedding for so much cheaper and nice than Mapleside. Look at areas in Akron or even medina. In getting married next October and stayed well under my budget and found a venue a lot cheaper and even prettier than Mapleside. It's not worth the money and stress to have it here. Megan Hanenkratt(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 Mapleside is a gorgeous venue. However, it is not in the slightest bit \"affordable\" unless you plan on spending at least $50,000 on your wedding. The cheapest dinner option is chicken at $27 per person. However, none of the food options include plates or any silverware. You have to pay for every piece separately (pay for each knife, each fork, each spoon, etc). None of this includes the tables, chairs, or linens. Plus it is mandatory to hire a staff person for every twenty people you have, and you have to pay each of them $18.95 per hour. Then you have to hire a security guard at $200 if theres alcohol, a event manager at $225, a bartender per fifty people at $19.95 per person and per hour. Plus you have to pay all of them for a minimum of eight to ten hours (three hours before the event, all during your event, and an hour after your event). Everything really adds up fast, and they don't work with you nearly as much as they lead you to believe. It feels as if they nickel and dime you with everything. The staff was nice and the food looked good, but it is not worth the ridiculous prices. Reviewed on 16-06-2016

Daniel (groom)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-10-2015 Do NOT get married at Mapleside. To hear more about my experience please contact TheKnot and ask them for my contact information. Believe me, it was worse than you could imagine. There is not enough room for me to share the whole story...\r\rI was married at Mapleside a couple of months ago and the experience was absolutely terrible. A few days after the wedding, we were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement which included a non-disparaging clause that would prevent us from sharing our story. \r\rTwo months before the wedding, we were informed by Karen that the barn would not be completed in time but the ceremony site was still on schedule to be completed. A few days later I met with the Mapleside general Manager, Josh, and was informed that the new ceremony site would not even be started until after the barn. With it being less than 8 weeks until the wedding, our options were limited for finding a new outdoor ceremony site. Mapleside told us that because of our situation they would make the 22% service fee be only 10%. This was something they had not offered anyone else. Because of what seemed to be an understanding of the situation, we stuck with them and believed what they told us. Then on the day of our wedding rehearsal we received a call saying the discount would no longer apply because it was only a discount if we chose not to use the barn and instead moved the wedding into their lodge. HOWEVER, this was never explained to us and the General Manager, Josh, admits that he never clarified it. So it was quite a shock being handed a contract during the rehearsal for nearly $2,000 more than we expected. It was a few days after the wedding, that we were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement preventing us from telling our story. If we signed this agreement, we would then get the almost $2,000. Signing an agreement for an amount that was already promised to us felt wrong. We decided that it was more important to warn couples about the downsides of choosing Mapleside than to collect this amount of money. It felt like our silence was being bought for something that we were already promised. If Mapleside wanted to offer us more money for us to sign a NDA with a non-disparaging clause, we would have been willing to do so. BUT we would not be signing something that prevents us from talking about our experience for an amount that we were promised months before our wedding. \r\rThis is just one of the MANY problems we encountered.\r\rThe main problem is that Mapleside allows Taste Of Excellence to handle all of the weddings. Mapleside simply receives a check from Taste Of Excellence. However, Taste will tell you things that turn out to not be true and Mapleside will not hold them accountable. Taste of Excellence can then simply say \"we are the catering company and that is it.\" while Mapleside can say \"we just rent out the property\". We feel as though there is not one person in charge and because of that the communication is beyond deplorable.\r\r\r\r Reviewed on 08-01-2016

We booked this venue because of the scenery but were not told about the Friday night concerts & all the equipment it entails like porta potties, signs, gates that were an eye soar for our wedding photos & will cost extra to retouch images to remove. We booked the cellar room while renovations were taking place & were promised a total remodel cement polished floor, rolling barn door, remodeled bathrooms. In the end some paneling was changed out & carpets were cleaned but nothing as spectacular as promised. The \"renovations\" were not completed till a day before our wedding which was VERY stressful for all involved. The WORST part was the noise level from a party that was booked \"last minute\" above us. We could not drown out all the banging & chair moving with our sound system. That really disappointed us that no one thought about how a party above would effect our wedding. I emailed 4 employees of the booking company to bring this to their attention but as of today 16 days later I have not gotten a response. Reviewed on 09-07-2015
Taylor Austin(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2013 The event manager was not the best to work with leading up to the wedding. She was hard to get ahold of and didnt always remember you and your situation. The month before the wedding she was wonderful and very helpful. The rehearsal the night before was terrible. There was a concert and we had limited time and space to rehearse. We went over our number of people allowed in our room for the dinner and they added an extra table and chairs for us. The day of we only had two hours reserved in the outside space so we could only set up an hour before the ceremony. My mother went to set up and there was trash all over from the night before and chairs werent set up. They cleaned everything up and had everything set up for us by our actual reserved time. Overall the ceremony turned out beautiful and the pictures are absolutely breathtaking. We had many compliments on our ceremony site. Reviewed on 27-08-2013
Amber Pekarek(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2011 Well, we were working with the \"event coordinator\" for a few weeks before the rehearsal. She was not too friendly and took ALONG time to return phone calls/emails. So, we walk in on the night of our rehearsal and say \"we are here for the rehearsal dinner\" and get a blank stare in return...the coordinator had been fired and didn't bother making our reservation!!! Luckily for us the general managaer (who we had met previously) was there, remembered us and pulled it all together in about 5 minutes for us! Needless to say, I was a bit stressed, but he really accomodated us. Food is delicious and they have a nice selection of beer and wine. Reviewed on 04-10-2011

Jamie Steele(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-06-2007 Maple Side is an apple orchard with a restaurant on site. It was the most beautiful place for a wedding, the were so helpful and cooperative. They made sure everything went as planned, even when my cake did not show up (from an unrelated bakery), they took care of it. I didn't even know there was a problem until after the wedding when my mother in law told me. I would recommend them to everyone! :) Reviewed on 10-05-2010
