We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding reception. The staff at the Marriott O'hare was such a pleasure to work with. We had a few visions for our wedding that were unique and different from typical weddings and I have to say the Marriott team was able to make ours dreams of how we wanted our wedding to be become reality. They were so very helpful and accommodating. Any bumps that may have come in the way, they were able to smooth out with ease. A Bride's dream come true. Reviewed on 28-10-2015
Gina Augustyn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-05-2014 After visiting 9 venues and comparing all they had to offer, my now husband and I decided to go with Chicago Marriott O'hare! Their platinum package was everything we were looking for and for the right price! They just had a remodel of the entire hotel and ballrooms May 2013 and was perfectly modern for us! Our communication with Kelly, who helped us view the ballroom and sign our contracts was great. Our contract clearly laid out all of the inclusions, and all of the dates we would be expected to make payments. After that she passed us to an event coordinator. Communication was great but the event coordinator changed 3 times during our entire process. Our last and most awesome event coordinator was Lindsey Beirne, who was previously at the Renaissance in Schaumburg and had worked with a few of our vendors in the past so we were elated and hoped she'd stay at least until after our wedding! Lindsey was profession, bubbly and super fun to work with. She was amazing at getting back to me with all of the emails I sent, especially the last month before the wedding. I had no doubt that we were in good hands. We used the O'hare Ballroom for our wedding. Set back away from the other ballrooms, we had our own bathrooms and an L shaped foyer that we used for cocktail hour. Capacity was 250 and we had 195 with 19 tables and 2 tier head table and a huge dance floor. We were not crammed and service was great. Food choices for appetizers during cocktail hour were amazing, everyone raved about them afterwards. Our dinner service was impeccable. Food was all amazing, i didn't see anyone with food left on their plates! Our captain for the head table was great, and server was amazing, leaving a bottle of champagne by our seats since I was drinking champagne only. Bar service was quick, and no one waiting for drinks. Top shelf liquor was stocked and beers plenty. We had such a great experience working with Lindsey, Marriott event staff, and the hotel itself. We had 40 rooms in our wedding block booked and everyone loved their rooms and their stay overnight. Reviewed on 21-06-2014
Tania (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-09-2013 My husband and I cannot say enough good things about the Marriott O'Hare!! We had our wedding there on September 14 this year and everything was PERFECT! The staff is kind and easy to work with and our event planner Shantel was more than helpful! \r\rThe hotel itself is already beautiful, but the service and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Everything from cocktail hour to dinner, desserts, bar, uplighting, setup and ambiance was beyond what I ever imagined it to be. The rooms are very nice, comfortable beds and well taken care of. \r\rI would recommend this hotel for any event you may be hosting. Our experience was one of a kind and our wedding will always be a night to remember...we received so many compliments and still continue to!!!!\r\rThank you so much Marriott & Shantel!!! Mary Cz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2012 Fantastic front desk staff, great breakfast and clean rooms. We had the option to bundle cost/breakfast/room fee all into one price for our guests. It was nice to give them one number instead of a list of extra costs. Melissa was VERY helpful when booking! Sue Hawkins(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2011 The Chicago ballroom was perfect for our reception. It held the cocktail hour and then opened up to reveal dining and dancing. Everything we asked for from food to perks were granted as well as the things beyond our contract with minimal or no additional charge. The food was fabulous (thanks Chef William). There was one snafu that keeps this from being five stars. After we made our entrance and were seated we noticed that the floor plan was NOT what we had approved. That might not have been too bad but an entire table was missing and those guests ended up having to fend for themselves to fit in to any available places from no-shows. It worked, they were all happy and no one but us really knew what was wrong, but it was definitely not what we had asked for or approved. The coordinator was very apologetic and asked what she could do. The answer obviously was nothing. It would only have made matters worse to start moving people around as dinner was being served. We passed it off and enjoyed ourselves as did all of our guests. Reviewed on 06-11-2011
