The Marriott staff were helpful, accommodating, polite, flexible, and so workable. We worked with Kara as our coordinator, who was always quick to answer any questions and accommodate any special requests we had. Sharon served us on the evening of our wedding and was such a sweetheart. She made sure we had time to sit and eat and boxed up some food for us to go. All of the food at our reception was PHENOMENAL. We still talk about wanting to go back for the food, it was so good! We highly recommend the Marriott! My daughter got married at The Marriott Syracuse Downtown and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. We initially worked with Lindsey who was absolutely wonderful and very thorough. She then introduced us to the wedding planner, Anissa. Anissa was the wedding Angel and my daughter, myself and our family could not have gone through this process without her. When we first met her, she was kind, warm, even-keeled and extremely professional. Little did we know that throughout the year of planning the wedding, she would start to feel like family to us. Her knowledge about weddings and the hospitality industry is unmatched. Anissa was there for us every step of the way, being the guiding light we always needed. She constantly offered us advice and recommendations, which was exactly what we needed since we did not live in Syracuse. The weeks leading up to the wedding, I must have her called 2-3 times every day and she always answered the phone with warmth and talked to me as long as I needed. This took an immense amount of stress off my daughter (and myself) because she was always so reassuring. Anissa was always one step ahead and even though I am sure she had hundreds of other events going on, you would never know it. Her demeanor was always positive. As if she wasn’t great enough, the day of the wedding we had the banquet manager, Sharon. Sharon instantly made me feel like I was her best friend. Within seconds of meeting her, she hugged my daughter and I and it was then, we knew we were going to have the best wedding day. Anissa executed the on-site ceremony flawlessly and set up all of the decor exactly how we wanted it. Her and Sharon’s attention to detail was exquisite, when we walked into the room we all cried and could not have been happier!!!! Sharon was constantly by our side, making sure we had everything we needed (and always made sure my son in law had a drink in hand). Her laughter and happiness the evening of our wedding made it impossible to not have the most amazing wedding night. The food was wonderful, our guests could not stop talking about it! They tell you that wedding planning is not easy and is stressful, but with this team of professionals at the Marriott, you will never have to worry. We have had friends who had their reception here and Anissa and Sharon were two of the most highly recommended wedding planners and banquet supervisors. Have your wedding at the Marriott, ask for them and you will understand why! Anissa is the best of the best and again, both families cannot thank her enough for her endless hard work on making my daughter’s wedding day a day she will cherish forever. Anissa and Sharon are irreplaceable and deserve all the recognition in the world! Thank you again to the Marriott Syracuse Downtown! Reviewed on 20-09-2022
Marissa Ewald(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-08-2022 The perfect wedding day is almost completely unheard of, everyone tells you that something will go wrong, however, with the help of the team at Marriott Syracuse Downtown our day was truly and completely perfect. We were first connected with our coordinator Anissa Quilty. She was ready for anything and everything we threw her way! She helped with all our questions as we started digging into the planning process and helped to answer questions we were getting from our outside vendors. Anissa also helped us to get our room block set up and get the Hotel Syracuse Suite reserved for our Bridal Party. About 4 months before our wedding, Anissa got a promotion (yay!) and helped to provide an easy transition to our new coordinator, Kayla Sawyer.Kayla was truly amazing to work with! I was an extremely organized and detailed Bride, and I knew exactly how I wanted our wedding day to look. Kayla was ready for the challenge of helping us achieve the vision that we had. She was always ready for our questions and answered them quickly, if she didn't have the answer, she knew who to go to for help! Kayla helped to bring all our little details and ideas to life. We wanted a classic wedding, but we didn't want to be traditional, and Kayla completely understood that vision.Kayla met us in the lobby when we arrived at the hotel on Friday of our Wedding Weekend and helped to get everyone checked into their rooms and get all our belongings onto luggage carts. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, Kayla was attentive to all our wants and needs and made us feel special. She checked in on our parents and Bridal Party too. We also brought in a day-of-coordinator and Kayla very quickly approached her to go over any last-minute details or plans and they stayed in contact for the duration of our wedding weekend. On Saturday morning, Kayla got right into setting up all our decor (and there was a lot of it!). I provided Kayla with a detailed list along with a few pictures of how I wanted things set-up, and she executed everything perfectly. Everything was exactly how I wanted it to be, and she even found the perfect places for our miscellaneous items that didn’t really have a “home.”Sharon was working seamlessly with Kayla throughout the entire night. She was there to make sure our guests were happy, well fed and hydrated. She helped to put the finishing touches on the tables and made sure to check in with us and our parents during our cocktail hour and reception. Now, let's talk food! It was the best food I've ever had at a wedding. Hands down! Our guests are still telling us how great their meals were. The cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were unmatched! The shrimp cocktail display that we added on was to die for! I highly recommend splurging on that if you can. Your guests won’t forget it!The wait staff and bartenders were shining stars! Mandy was waiting on our head table (we met her at our tasting and requested her for our reception) and I am so grateful for her. She was consistently (but not annoyingly) checking in on us, making sure we had enough food, refreshing our cocktails and so much more. You could really tell she cared about helping us have a perfect night. I promise you won’t regret having your wedding at Marriott Syracuse Downtown. The Grand Ballroom is unlike anything you will find anywhere in the Syracuse area and the amount of beauty and history the hotel holds makes for a really unique venue. Reviewed on 05-09-2022
Allison Levi(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2022 When we booked our April wedding, we chose The Marriott Downtown Syracuse based on the gorgeous and elegant Grand Ballroom. Sarah sold us on the grand, old-world style and gorgeous views from the room. What we didn’t know was that the aesthetics were just a small part of what made our day so perfect. We worked with Anissa who from our first meeting saw our vision and understood exactly what we wanted. She was so incredibly accommodating from floor plans to signature drinks to working with outside vendors and any special request we had. She never hesitated and always found a way to make our vision work. On the day of the wedding we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Anissa and her team had everything organized and ready to go. The coordination on her behalf were outstanding. One of the best perks of the Grand Ballroom was the bridal suite that we got to use to get ready. We were able to order food and drinks for the bridal party right to the room which made everything easier. The food here, and during the reception were phenomenal. We chose the Platinum Package and it was worth every penny. The passed hor d’oeuvres, the stations, and plated meals were to die for. Our guests still talk about how lovely their meals were. As if Anissa wasn’t great enough, she also brought along Sharon who made sure we had anything and everything we needed during the reception. Sharon would refill our drinks, have a plate of each hor d’oeuvre for us to try (because, let’s face it, who has time to grab those during cocktail hour), packed up our meals to have delivered to our room, and also doted on our parents and any need they may have had. We are so appreciative of everything Sharon did for us to make our night special and care-free. We cannot recommend The Marriott Downtown Syracuse enough. If you are looking for a beautiful, elegant and easy to work with venue, this is the place for you. We wouldn’t change a thing, and given the chance to plan a wedding again, we would pick The Marriott each and every time. Reviewed on 24-07-2022

We hit a few road bumps due to COVID, and had to reschedule our original wedding date. The team here was beyond accommodating, doing everything they possibly could to ensure we had the magical wedding day we always imagined. The professionalism was consistent throughout the day and planning process, and everyone quickly became our wedding friends. :) We enjoyed the hotel immensely and we had flexibility with planning the menu and the food tasting, as well as including a brunch for our guests. This team pulls out all the stops when they do a wedding. We had our reception in the Persian Terrace, completely changed the layout that they normally do - moved the bar by the dance floor to the backside of the room where there's normally tables - they didn't even bat an eye.The food was insanely delicious, they helped some of our vendors (Glazed and Confused) get desserts laid out. Yes, we had donuts along with the desserts that came in our room package. Our suite after the reception was bigger than out apartment and made it difficult to leave. Wedding planning inundates you with tasks but if you get married here, you're not alone in completing them. You have a team of experienced professionals behind you, being a guiding hand when you need it and a sounding board when you're feeling uncertain. Anissa was there for us every step of our journey, sharing her experiences and answering questions incredibly quickly. She was able to recommend extremely talented local vendors which was a huge help given that we were planning the wedding from Boston. Our wedding day was executed perfectly by the team, including both our ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom. The food and drink menus offer a wide variety which was great for a large party with a blend of preferences and allergies. Even our vegan and vegetarian guests loved their dinners! At the end of the night, our guests were able to take the elevators to their rooms and the hotel staff handled the overnight storage of our flowers and decorations. Being able to have our ceremony and reception in the same hotel where many of our guests were staying added a great deal of simplicity to the weekend as well. The first time we saw the venue, we were blown away. It was gorgeous and everything we never thought we wanted and totally out of our budget. We thought - it’s too extravagant. But we met Lindsey and she was fantastic. We almost weren’t going to book this venue (because it was out of our budget) until we finally decided - let’s just do it. Lindsey was able to work with our budget and I’m so happy she contacted us again! It is a gorgeous venue and you really don’t have to do much else in terms of decor. I had MANY specific requests and questions and the staff was able to help each step of the way. The staff made it extremely easy - and this allowed me and my bridesmaids (the groom and his groomsmen too of course) to sit back and relax before the wedding without fretting about set up or take down and I think I that was the best part. We didn’t have to do a thing the day of other than get ready, take photos, and have fun. Sharon was fantastic to work with though and we loved her! The hotel and staff were so accommodating and attentive. The night turned out beautifully and even more amazing than we imagined. My husband and I just got married here a month ago (September 15th,2018) and LITERALLY had not a single bad experience with this venue. We walked into the hotel over a year and half ago with Lindsey (the sales manager at the time) and I will warn you, as soon as you walk in, you are sold. The building is beautiful and the staff is accommodating. We emailed them the next day and said SOLD!We were then placed with Emily as our wedding coordinator, and she was SPECTACULAR. I absolutely loved working with her. She handled all of the details for us, I did not lift a single finger the day of and my wedding was more amazing than I could have imagined. People are still talking about how \"elegant\" the venue was. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a hell of a good time either. You get an extra hour of reception here and that included an open bar in the price. GET MARRIED HERE. You won't regret it. From the staff involved in the wedding itself (shout out to Sharon and Mandy too who helped during the reception) to even how friendly and helpful the valet was. The staff at Hotel Syracuse was exceptional. Right from the start working with Lindsey and Holley booking everything was so enjoyable and they made it so easy and carefree. Any question I had they were so attentive and reassuring. I didn't worry about a single thing.Sharon worked with us the night of, and she was so on top of everything. I really didn't want to miss my cocktail hour, but naturally pictures took a little longer than expected and I was a little disappointed I didn't get to try any of the hor' dourves we picked out. To my very pleasant surprise when my husband and I sat down at our table after introductions there was a plate of all of our hor' dourves saved for us. The food was very good. For our cocktail hour we had a cheese and vegetable display and we chose four passed hor' dourves which consisted of: bacon wrapped scallops, raspberry brie phyllo, chicken street tacos, and shrimp tempura; all of which were delicious. For dinner we had three plated options: filet, chicken, and salmon. I didn't hear one complaint about any of the food. Sharon even boxed up a filet and chicken dinner along with some of our cake and desserts from our dessert table all to go at the end of the night! The ballroom was absolutely stunning, I received so many compliments and positive feedback on everything from how beautiful the hotel was, to how great the food was, to how nice, friendly, and attentive all the waitstaff was the entire night. I did my flower centerpieces myself, and the hotel was so accommodating and allowed me and my bridesmaids to put all of the centerpieces together in an available office space they had. The waitstaff even took down and cleaned up the centerpieces and stored them in a separate room so I could come and pick them up anytime the next day.One small thing that was a little upsetting was that the front desk gave my dad a hard time and wouldn't let him in his hotel room to get ready the day of because my mom's name was on the reservation and his wasn't. It ended up working out; though, and he was eventually able to get in.I would 100% recommend anyone have their wedding here, it was truly the best night of my life and everything and more that I could have ever dreamed of. The hotel itself is also stunning - you almost don't believe you're in Syracuse once you're inside. I loved every second and so did my guests. I can't imagine a better venue experience than this! Alexandra Gregg(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-10-2017 Beautiful space and very attentive staff. We had our wedding in the Persian Terrace and everything was excellent. The food was delicious, staff went above and beyond and everything went for the most part seamlessly. This venue is still working out the kinks (only been open for a little over a year now). We worked with multiple coordinators over the course of a year, which was hard at times, but for the day of everything came together. If your looking for a venue that will take care of everything, this is your place! They took care of every detail and the best part was that our guests could go straight to their rooms after, no travel required. And for those late night guests, the is a bar downstairs to accommodate an afterparty! Reviewed on 21-11-2017
Danielle Julian(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2017 We had our wedding in The Persian Terrace- everything was flawless. The staff (shout out to Sharon) were amazing, so attentive and went above and beyond in every way. Working with Lindsey and Annie was easy- they helped us book the room, go over packages, the details, the tasting, etc. When we walked into the room the day of our wedding we were blown away- everything was how we imagined. Guest commented that it was by far the best venue they've been to and how perfect the food was!! Reviewed on 26-05-2017

Annie Jacobs(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2015 I know that every Bride says \"our wedding was perfect!!!\" & \"our wedding was amazing!!!\" Well...Ladies, you can not have perfect & amazing without the help of a team...the team that made my dreams come true is at The Marriott Hotel Syracuse with Lindsey Cole at the helm. When we initially booked, the Hotel was in shambles, it was under construction and in such poor shape, we were a little nervous but went ahead with booking anyway because we knew how stunning it would be when completed and ...boy... were we RIGHT...The architecture alone, the crown molding, the marble floors, the Stickley furniture, the chandeliers and the hand painted ceiling (yes, hand painted...we were in there when under construction so we saw first hand the detail and care going into the Hotel). We had many older, local guests who remember the Hotel in its \"hay day\" whether they attended the St. Patrick's Day After Party or a New Years Bash, they were stunned at how beautiful the Hotel was, many said it transported them back to the great times they had there once before. Lets start with the Bridal Suite...my ladies and I were pampered in every way and had all the luxury and comforts we didn't know we needed...the space we had to move around and relax in was just perfect and calming. I'm known for being late...NOT TODAY...Lindsey and her team made sure we were on schedule and reassured me several times that everything was running smoothly. She really put my mind at ease, her reassurance, her \"get it done right\" attitude was top notch...looking back now, this was beneficial in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. Our ceremony & reception were held in the Persian Terrace...Lindsey & her team built us a stage so that our guests wouldn't miss a second of our vows. The cocktail hour was held in the lobby and off to the right...we had soooo much room to move around and mingle, all of our guest we're so impressed with the food, drinks and mostly the staff...all were impressed with how attentive and polite they were. I married into a large Italian family and let me tell you, we had enough Hours Devours to feed everyone...TWICE! Dinner was so delicious, we decided on Buffet style so that our guests could go at their own pace or pig out if they wanted...LOL!!! The linens, the flatware and table settings were top notch. Our accent colors and flowers were everywhere and in the grand space of the Persian Terrace, we really felt that this ballroom was made just for us...my husband and I truly felt that the staff cared for us and our guests and that they weren't there just to do the job..Our Buffet captain Sharon was the BEST...she got me my plate of food and I never had an empty cocktail all night. The Hotel was so very accommodating...even when we invaded the new bar, 11 Waters and kept it open for us and for the guests that were staying the night. For those future Brides & Grooms out there I truly hope this review helps, my husband and I were blown away by the quality of care and attention the Staff at The Hotel gave to us. I hope that for every Bride & Groom they have the experience of having the most perfect, the most amazing and most special day possible...I know we did and its all thanks to Lindsey Cole, her staff and The Marriott Hotel Syracuse Reviewed on 06-04-2017
Chelsea Moriarty(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-05-2018 Our wedding day at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown was AMAZING. The venue is absolutely, breathtakingly, beautiful. The service is impeccable and unforgettable. My husband and I were incredibly blessed to have booked this venue. We still feel like the whole day was a dream, beyond our expectations. Our wedding was on a Sunday evening, shortly after the hotel's grand opening. We had our marriage ceremony in the Persian Terrace, enjoyed our cocktail hour in the hotel's lobby and ended the evening in the Grand Ballroom for our reception. Lindsey, the event coordinator, was truly a delight to work with.Prior to meeting Lindsey for the first time to discuss our wedding, I had become somewhat jaded by the stress and frustration associated with planning a wedding. I had lost any feeling of excitement toward the planning process prior to my first meeting with Lindsey. After the first meeting, I felt the sparkle of being a bride again. Lindsey made planning a wedding feel simple, enjoyable and EXCITING!!!I felt like I was her only bride; emails and calls were answered quickly, my special requests were met with a \"yes, we can do that\" response and an \"at your service\" attitude, the details of my wedding were remembered and carefully accounted for...she was completely invested in making our wishes our reality, and did she ever deliver!!!The quality of service, by all staff, at the hotel is impeccable. The day of our wedding, every staff person working our event was helpful and friendly. Many of the servers personally congratulated my husband and I and wished us luck. It felt like they were as happy to be a part of our wedding day as our guests were! Reviewed on 23-03-2017
Amie Woodward(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2016 We had our reception in the Grand Ballroom of the hotel. We had no idea what to expect since the Hotel was just a construction zone when we booked with them, but the restoration was amazing, and the architectural details in the hotel are just beautiful. We worked with Lindsey on coordinating the reception details, and she thought of everything! She was very quick to respond, was helpful in making sure that my vision for the ballroom came together, and made some suggestions that I would never have though of. We got so many complements from our guests on how beautiful the hotel was, how elegantly everything was set up, and how delicious the food was. Reviewed on 21-11-2016
Lauren Rice(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-10-2016 We had our wedding reception in the Persian Terrace and everything was perfect from start to finish! The cocktail hour was held in the hotel lobby which was spacious and great for mingling. Then the reception in the Persian Terrace was beautiful - the room is so unique and feels very glamorous with so much vintage charm. It was exactly what we were looking for. All of the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Lindsey was in charge of coordinating everything and she did an amazing job, we cannot thank her enough for pulling everything through for us. The food was amazing, I had many guests comment on how much they enjoyed it. Additionally, everyone loved how convenient it was to be able to just head upstairs to hotel rooms at the end of the night. A hotel suit for my new husband and me was included in the package and they even left chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the room for us when we got up there. Overall, we are SO glad we chose to do our wedding here and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a venue! Reviewed on 02-11-2016
