Historic Wedding Venue
Centrally located between Austin and San Antonio, the historic Martindale Schoolhouse was built in 1921 and is now homeroom to a new school of thought for weddings, special events, weekend getaways, outdoor excursions, and more. First, there’s the expansive five-room villa that was once the original school. Carefully curated with art from around the world, the schoolhouse sleeps 14 and has been fully modernized with a large kitchen, multiple seating areas, a great lawn and a covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace. Next, there's the Martindale Social Hall. Perfect for wedding receptions, dances, corporate outings, you name it... all hosted under the sky and stars within the walls of the original school gymnasium. To top it off, the crystal clear San Marcos River is a short walk away .

The Martindale Schoolhouse was the first and only venue we previewed before our wedding because we KNEW it was the one! Between the historic elements, the nostalgia of a school setting, the proximity to the river, and the simply amazing hosts; Wendi and Craig, we were sold in seconds! When it came to hosting our wedding at the schoolhouse and social hall, we were beyond pleased with the final result. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our love resonated well in the 100-year-old walls <3. We also took our engagement shots here, and we've had multiple people ask if we had a custom set dresser for our photos - It's just that gorgeous. 10000/10. I can't recommend this location enough.

First off, it's such a pleasure to hold an event in a place cared for by its owners so personally. Wendy and Craig are available, kind, generous and always have a great smile. You can tell they really love their life with the Martindale Schoolhouse. Secondly, WHAT A VENUE! We booked for 4 nights so that we could have time to set up the rehearsal and the wedding. What a joy that was! The house, itself, is stunning and comes with every comfort you can imagine. The grounds offer the best-of-the-best for games, fire pits, music, and so much more. We couldn't be more thrilled with our experience at the Schoolhouse. ...Plus it doesn't hurt when EVERY ONE OF YOUR GUESTS is awe-struck as well. Can't speak more highly! 5 stars all around!We will be back!

We knew from the moment we pulled into Martindale Schoolhouse that this was the venue for us! It’s not your typical wedding venue…it’s so much more and the bonus is that you get to work with Craig and Wendy. Simply put, Craig and Wendy were AMAZING to work with while planning our wedding. From the get-go they were so incredibly easy going and flexible. They brought valuable insight and suggestions to make our special day so incredibly memorable. On top of the incredible owners, the structures of this venue include the old schoolhouse itself along with the open-air gymnasium. One of our favorite things was being able to rent the schoolhouse for our immediate family to stay in along with having this space onsite for the entire wedding party to get ready. The attention to details that Craig and Wendy put into it, make the venue all the more special. We know that our wedding guests will always remember the time that they were at Martindale School house + Social Hall. We couldn’t recommend this venue more highly!

This location was perfect for our wedding! The home is so comfortable and perfectly appointed. Our family was able to stay there with us and we had time to decorate and visit and enjoy the process of throwing a fun wedding celebration! The open air venue (social hall) is absolutely gorgeous and provides the perfect backdrop for photographs in every direction! Our guests visited with each other on the lawn, in the house and on the dance floor all night long! I recommend renting the entire home for at least the day before and the day after the wedding so you can take your time setting up and breaking down the venue. It makes for some unforgettable family and friend time.Wendi and Craig are amazing and their help and suggestions for photo ops and decorations was invaluable for me as I am not so creative. They are crazy creative and Craig can fix just about anything I have learned!Five stars are not enough!

This is an incredible space! I just got married here and it was so perfect. We rented the whole Schoolhouse, which was such a comfortable space to get ready in. Our photographer had a blast shooting portraits around the many curated rooms. The Social Hall accommodated our style and crowd so easily. The open-air roof and super cool windows framed the sunset, stars, and the full moonrise. It was SO cool. We had around 75 guests and never felt crowded. The grassy courtyard is huge and offered more small-group hangout areas. The owners are an incredibly sweet couple who have put so much love and attention to detail into this property. It truly is a gem!

Wendi & Craig (Owner) Wendi and Craig met in college and married 20 years later. Our passion is travel, entertaining, music, thrifting and designing. We were both looking to change our careers from corporate jobs to running our own business. We stumbled upon the old Martindale Schoolhouse and knew right away this was our calling. We continue to carefully curate the historic schoolhouse and gymnasium to be one of the most unique wedding and event venues you will ever experience. We look forward to sharing our dreams in creating the most magical event imaginable.
