Historical Home on a Working Farm
Martingayle Plantation is a wedding venue located in Shorter, AL. This working farm is surrounded by 650 private acres, giving couples an intimate, secluded space to exchange their vows. Soon-to-be-weds will have plenty of room to host their big day as mature pecan trees, grazing cattle, and open fields surround their celebration. Your day will begin in the two get-ready rooms—the Guesthouse and The Main House—for you and your wedding party to prepare for the altar in comfort. The main house is elegantly decorated with over 4,000 square feet of antiques and decor. You can then make your way to the large clubhouse which offers 6500 square feet of space that is climate-controlled with a kitchen area and restrooms. Also available is a brick patio with a crackling fireplace for soon-to-be-weds to enjoy their pre-wedding gatherings. Behind the main house is a 16-acre pond serving as a beautiful backdrop for your wedding. There are multiple areas to have the ceremony. Come take a tour and we can show you the many options. Martingayle features overnight accommodations for you and your wedding party. Unique Brahman Cattle and horses are present onsite for couples to incorporate into their photo sessions.

I got married at this venue in June. I can not say enough good things about Mr.Jones and his daughter Lauri. They went above and beyond to make this time so special for us. We loved this venue for the multiple ceremony locations offered and the barn is a more modern looking barn then others we saw. Mr.Jones offered to help us with anything we needed. They had multiple sleeping options for our guests and different houses offered for our bridal parties to be separate but still on the same property for the wedding day. My photographer was able to get multiple location shots due to how beautiful and the space oon this property. This would be a beautiful venue with multiple hosting options from weddings, showers, to family gathers.

I see nothing but Great Success in the future for Martingayle Plantation... To begin, you could not find a venue with more beauty and character thats offered at Martingayle or easier people to work with. Every member of the staff was all hands on deck doing whatever needed to be accomplished to make Rob and Kathryn's wedding on 6-24-23 a wonderful experience. I would recommend all soon to be bride's, start your venue search at Martingayle Plantation, for the simple reason your expectations for other venue's will be measured against the best in Central Alabama. Martingayle Plantation is a beautiful wedding venue. My son and daughter-in-law were recently married there. Len and Lauri were awesome to work with. The entire plantation is beautiful and well manicured with much attention to detail. They went above and beyond to make their wedding day special. There are so many opportunities for different events to be held at Martingayle (bridal showers, teas, corporate events, reunions, parties, etc..). This 5 STAR rating is much deserved. If considering Martingayle for your event, you will not be disappointed ♡

It was a beautiful location straight out of a Southern Living magazine. Perfect for our family gathering. The backdrop for pictures were stunning. It was super easy to find and just what we were looking for.
